EVO 2... what would u add? or remove - EVO 4G General

so if we actually do get an EVO 2 this summer, what more can we get on this phone to make it either a industry changer or a big hit.
i say
- remove the touch buttons we already have and expand the screen vertically while not having to enlarge the actual phone.. that way we are ready for honeycomb (or what ever the phone version OS is gonna be called)
- move the audio jack to the bottom of the phone
- way better battery life (even if it means thickening
the phone for a bigger battery)
- better hd video recording
- more internal memory and ram
- better display
- gorilla glass
last but not least
- quad processor ( might be exagerating dual should
be fine)
and maybe a few more things i can't think of right now
what do u guys want on this phone
s
ps: im broke but wouldn't mind paying $300 on a new contract for these upgrades.
ent from my EvoKnevil

Same form as the EVO, maybe closer to the Thunderbolt.
dual core
better GPU (MUCH BETTER)
at least a gig of RAM
a few gigs of ROM
4.3" Super LCD (please god don't let it have an amoled!)
higher res
That's it, I'm easy to please.

I'd love to have a SLCD, Gorilla Glass and either the headphone jack on the bottom or USB port on the top (just as long as they're together, I thought that was a great idea on the Galaxy S) but I don't agree with getting rid of the buttons. Even when they merge the tablet and phone branches of Android, I doubt the phone version will have the same virtual buttons. I could be wrong but I just don't see it happening.
We should hear something from HTC either at MWC next week (Feb 14-17) or CTIA next month (Mar 22-24). The EVO was officially announced during CTIA last year so that could be when Sprint announces its successor.

move the Micro sd card location

1. the new snapdragons
2. dual core
3. honeycomb AOSP
4. 5 inch SLCD/SAMOLED
5. full hdmi out
6. the laptop type dock (like the atrix)
7. 32gb inbuilt memory as well as sd card support
8. NFC
Sort of like dell streak, evo, and atrix combined into one big package, oh and with honeycomb :x

+1 for sure.

Even just one of these
-better battery life
-dual core
-put the usb port on the side of the phone maybe about 1/4 from the top or in the middle so that when you hold it horizontally the cable isn't between your fingers. Grrr, I hate that

-Dual-core processor for sure, maybe 1GHz but with the same performance as the Shift's.
-Honestly, the form factor of the Evo is quite well done, wouldn't change much, unless it's a bit thicker for a better battery.
-A better way to access the microSD.
-More internal ROM/RAM.
-NFC for sure, it's going to take over the world...
-(if there's room) a full-sized HDMI-out adapter.
-(and by extension) the GPU to support such a thing.
-Rooting without voiding warranties, plus RA Recovery manager built-in by default. [/sarcasm] (like that'll ever happen)

- Bigger battery (like twice capacity)
- GPU
- Amoled screen and gorilla glass
- same size screen or bigger ( I could never go smaller now)
- keep the kickstand
Sent from my device.

-NFC
-Noice Cancelling Mic
-Better Speaker
-Better Placement of camera
-Fix light leakage issues
-Higher Mega Pixel FFC
-Slide out Keyboard
-Unibody design

For those times when one is not enough.
What would I like?
1) 32 or 22 nm multicore low energy processor.
2) dual 4.5" screens - sliding a thin secondary screen.
from under the main. For those times when one is not enough.
3) ability to piggy back a battery pack. For those times when one is
not enough.
4) full bridge between wifi and service provider (Sprint). For those
times when one is not enough
OK imagine a pocket super "connector".

Lots of good ideas here.
Unfortunately I won't be getting an Evo 2 this summer (at a discounted price anyways) because Sprint downgraded my yearly upgrade perk.
That being the case, anyone want to guess what the Evo 3 (hopefully with a June 2012 release date) will be like?
Sent from my Evo using XDA App

moar gggggs!

how about a high quality build.

All these suggestions are great. In addition it would be great to have a kickstand that works for portrait and landscape imo.

Dual Core
3D screen
12 Mega pixel camera
3 mega pixel front camera
32 GB SD card
Projector capabilities

same size, but more pixels
dual core...
gpu, or something for better graphics
better hardware and software wich can make the battery last way longer
keep the 8m pixels in the rear camera, shake stability, etc
the evo has so much, why not add the ability to act as a desktop and just connect it to a screen, mouse and keyboard

I like the above, but also:
- better camera quality (not more megapixels, we have plenty); we need better image processing (software) and/or better sensor, cause what we have now sucks; it gives 8 megapixels a bad rep
- better GPU
- SLCD screen at higher resolution
- better battery management (i think 1500 is big enough, we can get it to work leaner)
- dual core processor
- ports (headphone/usb) on same side as others have said
- don't care about HDMI out, we'll be streaming wirelessly soon enough
I really think that all phones these days of superphone caliber should have noise cancelling mics, it's huge for talk quality.
my 0.02

The only things I care about are as follows.
1. Battery life (if this comes about by a low power consumption dual core, that's fine)
2. A better camera with a lens that isn't exposed.
By better camera, I don't mean more megapixels. Megapixels don't mean jack if the quality sucks. We have an 8mp camera that takes noisy, nasty pictures. I want a camera at least on par with the iPhone. I don't care if it's 3.2mp, make the quality better and THEN worry about MP.

Same form factor, or perhaps 4.5" max SLCD screen w/ gorilla glass
Tegra 2
HDMI out - mirror mode
Better battery life (I'd be happy with 50% better life)
Dual external speakers like Touch Pro 2
Dual mics for noise cancellation
Higher quality construction (metal body would be nice)
Stop the megapixel race with cam..... improve IQ by implementing better image sensor, overhaul image capture software. Make flash usuable in low light situations by increasing shutter speed and decreasing overexposed photos.
Better audio output via 3.5mm jack *lounder, cleaner*
Make internal FM radio antenna which can be used without headphones
NFC
More memory and support for SDXC.

HTC HD3 WishList

Hi Guys,
What would you want to see in the next HD3? For me I would like HTC to add the following
FM Transmitter
SIP Client
VPN group authentication capability
Mobile TV ????
Better battery technology for longer usage without extra bulk.
I want:
FM transmiter
Better battery life + AMOLED for a lees power consumption (I'm happy with the color intesity, contrast and visualization under sun light of the current screen, but any improvement of this characteristics is always welcome)
Better protection for the camera lens or almost align it with the case, it's very dangerous for scratches the current configuration
Better hardware button paint quality, I'm loosing it in buttons that I never use, because I only use the ON/OFF button.
Some massive memory integrated, like 2 gb, to be able to copy some data from SD cards
And looking the expected features of the new Windows phone 7, avoid it and charge the phone with Windows 6.5.5 or another similar future version.
Best regards
- 2Ghz CPU + 2GB RAM
- 4.7" AMOLED Screen WXGA
- Capacitive Precission Stylus!!!
- Metal hardware buttons (and not plastic ones...)
- SD Card access without need to remove back metal cap.
- Earphones + micro with the possibility to remove the earphone part in order to plug your favorite ones.
- Xenon flashlite, not LEDs.
- More Coherent Sense Interface (let's admit it, right now it's not that intuitive)
- Front VGA Camera in order to have VideoConference.
- Quality Notes application (perhaps DirectDraw driven? Notes in HD2 leaves a lot to desire, 1Ghz Processor and it's not smooth at all...unbelievable, my 400 Mhz Palm Tungsten E2 I bought 9 years ago is smoother at that, no joke).

A drop of Chuck Norris's semen was placed on the IPhone. We now have the Htc Evo.
The Evo, maybe with the touch buttons a little lower and thus the screen a little bigger to fill that area.
With a dual-core tegra 2 and the fastest GPU out there with 16 GB ROM, 2 GB RAM.
Maybe a bigger battery if possible too.
Couldn't imagine a better phone.

Evo Successor:
-Same screen but better resolution and maybe Gorilla Glass
-NFC

Whatever it takes to make everyone happy so I don't have to read thread after thread after thread after thread after thread of people *****ing and moaning and whining and crying about why this phone sux and why that phone sux and why some futuristic yet to be developed technology isn't already in people's phones they bought last year. I guess it'd need to be equipped with a time machine so the phone can go into the future and equip itself with new technologies and then come back to present day. Oh, and it'd have to be sold by a brand new carrier since all US carriers suck so bad... and it'd need to be free.

And the price tag????
I like the TP2's form factor as well. That might get a little big for my ideal phone since I'd be looking at around a 5" display, but I personally don't mind carrying around a bigger phone. Everyone said the TP2 was too big whenever I showed it to them, until the saw me play movies on it. And lots of reviewers thought the EVO would be too big before it was released. Nowadays it's almost the default size for a top of the line smartphone.
Other than that, I'll go with the suggestions above but add one feature: dual micro SDXC slots, with at least one of them accessible without removing the battery. SDXC just because my 32 GB SDHC card is getting full, and dual cards to make it easier to move files between devices and maintain spare data capacity. You could keep all your apps on one card, and any files / media that you might need to move around on the second one. That way if you've filled up your phone with music / movies / tv, you can carry a spare card in a micro SD reader on your keychain and have nearly as much media as you want with you at all times. and if you want to share with a friend, just swap out your micro SD cards and copy to your primary card.
How about something possible? ;D
Super amoled plus 4" screen
Gorilla glass
Aosp(Google phone)
8 or higher mpx camera(REALLY, REALLY good camera)
Dual led flash
Dedicated camera button, solid like evo 3d
Physical buttons, instead of capacatative
Chrome back
1.2 dual core Sammy chip
Sammy gpu
1750 mah battery
Rectangular phone(no curves)
Front facing 2 mpx camera
USB/HDMI port
SD card slot, accessible without removing battery
1 gb ram
And that's about my perfect phone. Closest I'm gonna get is sgs2
Btw is it possible to have retina resolution with super smiled plus? If so, I'd also want that
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.
What I believe possible by next September (when my upgrade is):
4.3 Super Amoled Plus screen - qHD or higher with good pixel density
Gorilla Glass
1.5 - 2 gigs of RAM minimum
(like Nokia N8) 12 megapixel back camera sensor (backlit) with Xenon flash and MyTouch 4G Slide's Instant Capture technology
3 - 5 megapixel front facing camera
AOSP Ice Cream Sandwich
Tegra (Wayne Series) clocked at ??? with its amazing GPU
SD slot accessible without pulling battery (SDHC-capable)
2-stage camera button
1750 mah battery
Motorola Photon's strong radio with LTE
Capacitive/Physical buttons are rendered useless in ICS, so don't need them
Industrial design - no curves, looks like a beast
Made by Motorola - metal/metal designing, no squeaking or light leakage, great build quality
Kickstand: stability of the Photon's (you can flip it over and it works) and the thickness of the Thunderbolt (I don't want some skinny little kickstand - peace of mind)
Flagship Nexus device.
On Sprint.
Unlocked bootloader.
Pure Power.
Exact Physical Architecture as the HTC EVO (button placement and physical build) 5in Super Amoled Plus screen w/ Gorilla Glass

What will realistic Project Ara phone be and what price will you pay?

Hello,
With this being talked about now, what will your realistic Project Ara phone have?
Mine is pretty simple:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz
Adreno 330 450MHz
2 GB RAM
3.8 V 2300 mAh, 8 Wh, Qi wireless charging
Slide out QWERTY physical keyboard
4.96 in (126 mm) diagonal IPS LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (1080×1920 px (444 ppi))
8 MP with OIS, f/2.4 aperture and Xenon flash.
1.3 MP Front Camera
3.5 mm TRRS
GPS
Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
Bluetooth 4.0
NFC
Infrared port
Every damn radio band so I can use GSM/3G/4G all over the world
Now that I look at it, this phone sounds pretty familiar.........
My price range would be $400 - $500
What about you?
Also, lets keep it realistic, real (no transformer from phone to PC or fantasy crap) and considering phone/budget of each person. Basically what Project Ara is really about and can offer.
Im editing the title again: Please keep it realistic Who knows what people are reading this thread. If we post things like 8K resolution screen phones for 200 bucks, we cannot keep this realist.c
I'd be willing to pay up to $600 for a device with 8GB of internal storage with an external storage option, a 21Mp camera with OIS and various low light optimizations, It needs to be at least dual core running at no less than 1.8 Ghz, it needs 2Gb of RAM, an adreno 330 GPU, a 4.7in screen with a resolution that's above 720p, wireless charging, ALL the radios!, wifi 80211ac, a front camera that has 720p recording and is at least 1.3mp, extremely tunable audio quality, and a slightly curved screen.

Just asking for a good DAC and a curved screen will shoot it up more than $600
I based off mine a existing phone and depending on that raised the price compared to it...
For me:
Top-line specs (cpu ram etc...)
But the extra stuff i would buy into it is a good DAC (digital analog converter). I like to hear quality music.
And a best of the bests camera with a big and fast sensor (maybe foveon x3), 3diagonal OIS, led+xenon AND full manual control in it's software. I want to control shutter speed, ISO, explosure, OIS on/off, timer, intervalometer, HDR, brust mode, pixel oversampling and RAW capturing.
I don't want to take photos like on DSLR, but these things are good to have in the creative process :--)

Hello,
With this being talked about now, what will your dream phone have?
Mine is pretty simple:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz
Adreno 330 450MHz

3.8 V 2300 mAh, 8 Wh, Qi wireless charging
Slide out QWERTY physical keyboard

By the time ARA is available this will be a bit old
But I would take high specs with 3000 or 4000 mAh so it would last more than a day

Because my 2100mhA battery on my nexus 4 only last the day on usual use but can be drained by half on my 1h commute if I stream music while playing games
An HTC One with modules and i'll be happy

Thats why you do and that is not normal usage (internet, music and games)
The phone I do (PHONE) does WAY more than any phone I (or most people) can ask for.
Really i want there to be clean choices.
saying you want a snapdragon 800 in it or a 21 megapixel camera wont help you if that phone comes out in a year or so.
An option to get it pre-assembled.
A rating system for blocks, if you replace a block, ask you to rate/comment on it after a week or so.
More then one company making them.
Multiprocessor support. Get your Snapdragon and your Exynos. More power. Maybe limit that to just more then one copy of the same chip though, i do not see how it would work otherwise.
A separate block that contains the headphone jack, usb, ... so that it can be replaced without replacing the more expensive components.
A small internal battery, so that you can exchange the battery block without rebooting.
Different body shapes. Tablet--Phablet--Phone--Phone with keyboard
An E ink screen option.
Price, depends on components.
An E ink phablet-phone is something else then a DUAL-Tegra with 3 extra battery blocks, 4k screen and no radios except wifi.
- separate DAC/amp (i imagine these will be built into the SoC so hopefully OEMs can make modules that override this)
- 4000mAh battery
- landscape QWERTY
- probably a screen no bigger than 4.7" given that an overly large screen would make using the keyboard untenable
- camera module with a decent sensor size & xenon flash
- multiple SD/microSD card support
- projector
i don't imagine you could have all of these modules on the phone at once though
I'd love to have a phone with a 4.3" 720p AMOLED screen and a Pureview Camera with a hardware shutter key.
CPU would be an Intel Atom paired with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. Also, dual-boot with Android and WP (or whatever OS I want to put on there)
Oh, and the price? $500, maybe? (modular, of course)
I should have added that please make the phone and price realistic; Some of you are saying technologies such as PureView cameras when that is a trademark by Nokia and Nokia would NEVER open source it (with reason and I agree with them)
Independent vendors such as nikon, canon, etc.. might produce modules and provide propietary bins.. nokia as motorola's competitor would probably not agreed. W/o seeing the mdk, I can only guess companies [and a few gifted individuals] would have the resources to develop, nano-cize and produce said modules.. or will motorola be taking a you design.. we produce line.. Future looks exciting either way.. I'd pay $600 for full phone [base + enough modules to make it standard] but in just [visually] glancing the [proposed] module spacing, we'd be lucky to get battery you suggested.. Doesn't seem room unless thickness added [or two module spaces used].. which is/are a bleh idea(s) imo.

Razer Phone 2 Predictions

Judging by the popularity of the phone and feedback from reviewers online I think its safe to say that there will be a Razer phone 2. What are your predictions for the Upcoming Phone?
Release Date?
Me: November 2018
Specs?
Processor & GPU: 2018 Snapdragon
Screen: 120 Hz 1080P IPS with 700 nit brightness and HDR
Speakers: Same as Razer Phone 1 with better dust prevention
Audio: Same as Razer Phone 1 with USB-C DAC
Camera: Better with front facing camera to be used for game streaming and vlogging
Battery: Same
Body: Same with different placement of fingerprint reader and volume buttons
*glow in the dark logo
Extras: ?
What do you think?
Don't think they would go backwards to 1080p when they are 1440p for their first phone
Even parts wish list & predictions:
1) (Fast) Wireless Charging: 50% chance
2) Better camera(s): 100% chance
3) 3.5mm audio jack: At least 50% chance
4) I-R Blaster: Wishful thinking.................
Definitely glow in the dark
At least IP68 certified, wireless charging (these 2 are greatly missing from a 2k18 flagship), aptX HD and Thunderbolt 3 on USB C capabilities (and 3.1 USB C transfer speeds) and ofc, Chroma lightning for the Razer logo on the back with the ability to manually and custom set and create light effect for incoming calls, txts, notifications, etc and also the ability to sync that with the rest of the gear (kb, mouse, cans, lights).
Native video streaming, the ability to stream from anywhere in OS menus or ongoing apps or games - implementation in the OS itself - given it's a gamer's phone, I'd like to stream whatever content is on the display without buggering with 3rd party apps and setups - full implementation with the major online game streaming platforms around, with the highest quality settings and ability to record locally the stream, at least FHD; native screen recorder (as Xperia had it, was brilliant). Apart from that, I hope they don't change anything. Software issues (especially the camera) are fixable over time.
This is what i would want to see in the razer phone.
CPU: Snapdragon 845
RAM:8 or 12 GB
Speakers: same as original razer phone or better.
GPU: Adreno 630 or 640 (when available)
Camera Rear: 16 Megapixel Dual or a single lens one with F 1.3 aperture and one with F 2.0
Camera Front: 10 Megapixel
Display: 1440p 120Hz IPS eith HDR support and 600 Nits
Chroma compatible razer logo
Same design in my opinion
Recovery menu use WITHOUT A NEED OF A USB CABLE.
First of all they should keep the flat square design. Love how it looks and feels in hand.
Hate the fact how most new phones are going with similar curved edge to edge s*** designs
If something needs changing, then maybe a glass back like the Galaxy Note 5. Or a LED colour changing Razer logo on the back.
CPU: Latest Snapdragon will do
RAM: 8GB should be more than enough
Storage: 128GB/256GB variants
Speakers: One of the main reason why I chose this phone over Galaxy Note 8.
(The speakers should be even louder with better clarity. Dolby Demo is nice and loud but for example Youtube is not the same.
It should be the loudest phone by far, it should not even compete with other phones in this field. Also the speaker grill should be better designed for dust/water protection)
GPU: If the phone is known to be for gaming then it should have the best graphics processor.
Game play should be smooth with no jitter/lag.
Camera Rear/Front: This was a complete flop on this phone. By far the worst camera phone I had in ages. Very poor quality.
Should be completely changed and have decent low light and hdr support. 4K 60fps video aswell.
Display: 120hz display again but with more light and clarity. This one just looks dull with no colour.
Maybe similar to the Galaxy Note 5 screen. That was quality. I know amoled and ips is different but I expect a much better screen compared to this one.
Charging: A proper working Quick Charge 4+. Quick charging should not stop at 25% battery level. Wireless support maybe.
NFC: A proper working NFC
Vibration Motor: A proper working one which does not sound or feel broken.

The current RazerPhone supports 720p 1080p and 1440p
we'll see if they fill their promises and iron the bugs out of this one mobile market could wreck razer if their not careful as this is no where near the standard of the other products in software or build quality first phone or not the market is to competitive to launch a pos.
