[Q] No Storage after booting in Clockwork Mod ... - Blade General

Hey!
I tried to flash a new Rom (2.2) on my San Francisco. When I boot in Clockwork Mod the PC (Win7) should recognize the Phone as a Mass Storage, but it doesn't ... so I cannot copy the ROM onto the device. What can I do to solve the problem?
Thank you,
tobygreen

If memory serves me correct mass storage is or was broken in recovery, try a newer or different recovery.

[Q] Bricked phone?

I installed clockwork's rom manager and installed clockwork recovery with it. I rebooted into the recovery image and selected choose zip to flash. My phone just rebooted to the normal image (Smoki 0.78). I tried installing smoki 0.8 with rom manager but I got an error telling me that I cannot have spaces in the path. I then selected reboot to recovery twice because nothing happened the first time. My phone showed "htc magic" and kept rebooting. I can't go into recovery or fastboot. I wasn't even doing anything that changed the spl or radio. Is there anyway to repair my phone?
Briked mine the same only option is jtag box.soldering a connection to phone circuitboard and reflashing nand chip.

no usb connection in bootloader/magldr

i've made a hardreset via the bootloader on my hd2 and now when it has booted, sense crashes at the startup all the time and i can't see the device on the Pc (win7) i've tried to flash the dft rom again but i can't get no usb connection in the bootloader(wait usb) or the magldr menu(i have magldr 1.12). the led light is orange it's charging and it shows the menu of the connections for the pc /charge, htc sync etc... but even no connection. have i bricked my phone? :/
When you go to HSPL (tri colour) with your USB connected does it recognize your HD2 there?
no, it doesn't, when i connect the usb-cable to my hd2 and then connect it to the pc and go to the HSPL there is no usb or serial at the bottom, it is only white but when i got to the HSPL without connecting to the pc i have serial, does it matter?
Yeah that's like the most important thing. Have you tried a different USB socket/cable?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
yes different sockets but only the cable i have
Ohh well try use get a different cable. Ant old micro USB will work. I don't think there's anything you can do if SPL won't even recognize it.

okay, i will try a different one, hopefully it works
have you reinstalled windows mobille device centre? sounds like the drivers are not installed correctly
Or Reboot PC, I had this problem, and freaked out. Till I rebooted my PC, and everything worked again.
The drivers wouldn't matter. The PC would still recognize the connection between both phone and PC. I actually never heard of this problem before. I only had a HD2 for 3 or so months though.

drivers do matter, i uninstalled the windows device centre then when you boot magldr it will stick and not find the usb, so yes drivers do matter, it was only upon reinstalling the drivers that it was found in magldr usb flash mode
yes i uninastalled wdc and no connection, i installed it again and it has tried to install the driver but unknown device no drivers found or device removed

Yes they matter for flashing this through MAGLDR and if you don't have them you'll get a RAPI.DLL error. MAGLDR isn't the same as the bootloader though. The bootloader should just recognize the connection. But obviously there's something wrong with the phone as the phone when in bootloader isn't trying to do anything.
Lol I fail at explaining it.

can i flash the windows mobile leo.nbh via the sd card?
i've flashed the artemis rom via the sd but there was winmo installed does it work when i have android installed?
Erm I don't really understand the question but if you mean can you flash the stock Leo ROM over MAGLDR and Android well then yes it is. Just rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and pop your SD card in and flash it. So you've flashed Artemis ROM already? I'd rather flash that as you still have HSPL and not SPL. But yeah you can easily flash the stock ROM via SD card and it will flash over Android.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
no i havent flashed artemis
i want to flash the stock htc winmo rom3.14
i have SPL-2.08. HSPL
Hmm flashing wp7 via the sd isn't possible, yet? am i right?
Yeah you're right its not possible. Don't think it is possible anyway. If you flash stock you'll lose HSPL and just return to stock which is 2.08.0000. If you do that and it fails you'll be stuck in the bootloader and won't have the ability to flash anything because you need HSPL to do that. So I recommend you flash a custom WinMo ROM from the SD card first and see if it works.

okay i'll try a custom rom, thank you
Any luck with this man?

Im also waiting for a response. My phone just shows SERIAL in bootloader. no USB signs at all. The phone charges on Android, but it doesnt load the SDCARD to be seen on windows. My be a Radio problem because when I try to flash anything from the SDCARD (holding vol down and turning on), the screen show the tricolor, then flashes really quick like in 1/4 of a second, then go back to the tricolor. its getting painfully annoying! Anyone with some sort of solution.

[Q] Unable to enter tri colour recovery

I am helping out a friend who has android running on his HD2.
The device has magldr 1.13 and is in a bootloop.
I would like to perform a clean install, (task29 etc) but for those steps I need to get into the tri colour bootloader.
When I press and hold volume down and power I enter the magldr menu..
Can anybody tell me how I get to the tri colour bootscreen?
Any help would be really appreciated
I think your way is correct. Vol down + power botton but don't let it go until 3 color screen is up.
Don't hold power, hold vol down, tap and release power, keep vol held till bootloader appears.
First of all, thank you for your fast reactions and support
Well, the problem is that when I do exactly that the following happens:
1. White screen with green htc logo shows
2. Magldr 1.13 boots and because I keep pressing vol down the white selection starts skipping the magldr options from up to down.
This indicates both my vol down and power buttons do work..
Is there any other option for me to get to the bootloader?
There are quite a few reports of being unable to enter bootloader, but I don't know why or how to get around it.
Thanks anyway
I will try getting advice from the magldr dev's
If anyone knows a way around this it should be them I guess..
Edit: Can anyone help me with this problem?
I'm affraid my friends phone is bricked..

Rebooting isn't really an option as booting android nand results in a bootloop.
But I will stop spamming this thread with my misery, thread:

Do you mean I should try usb mounting with magldr in windows and format it to fat23?

You could try that, but I've heard MAGLDR's mass usb option doesn't work. Do you have a card reader handy? That would be best. I'd format it to NTFS then have the phone format it again once you get it back into a ROM.
Magldr's mass storage option only mount's the external SD in the phone so that won't be of any use
What do you mean by 'card reader handy'?

That's what I meant. Take the card out of the phone and reformat it.
Or
Find the clockworkmod folder on your SD card and delete it, then try to reinstall CWM.
Maybe that will work
The CWM file is on the internal SD, how can i access that?
Is it possible take the internal SD out of the phone?
When I 'mount usb storage' in magldr and connect to my pc it only mounts the external SD which only has some photo's on it.

I'd say the External one. There should be a "clockworkmod" folder. In it there is a ".settings" file. What I'm driving at is if this has been deleted, and you reinstall CWM you should have essentially cleaned up CWM and replaced it.
Does this make sense?
I know what you mean but in my Samsung Galaxy S experience the CWM files are in the internal storage and not on the external SD card.
So let's hope I'm wrong and you're right!
I'll take out the external sd and format it, and put it back in afterwards.
Then I'll install CWM and hope it boots
There was an earlier version of cwm, not sure where it is now, that was just a set of files that you would put on your sd card the select boot android sd then it would boot into recovery so you could flash .

sd card as in 'external sd card' ?
That might be the sollution to unbrick this device

The SD cwm is what you want to download. Extract the 2 files to the root of the SD card, choose ad SD option in magldr.

Will try that! Really hope it works..
If not I'm affraid I just gave my friend a 400€ tetris in magldr machine :/
Edit: Just tried it and it doesn't work..
Magldr:

The same happens when I try to boot AD recovery..

Thanks for the tip!
Just installed it and it hangs at the boot logo right after Go Go Go!
I tried another dft flash yesterday with the same result. It still hung at the boot logo after 30 minutes.
Any other suggestions, or do you know somebody here on the XDA HD2 forum that knows about how to try make this phone usable?
What if the SD card is messing up the bootloader...? try to enter bootloader WITHOUT the sd card present in your device. Maybe the card or formatting is somehow corrupt.
SD card or not, the phone only boots straight into magldr..
Any advice how to make this phone usable again?

USB Flash HELP

I REALLY need help here. Is there any way to flash a ROM to my HD2 with USB. FOr some reason CWM is not responding at all. It is as if it wont recognize there is an SD card in. I got the phone from a buddy who said he flashed a ROM on there but doesnt know why its not booting fully.
It will get into the MAGDLR screen, I go option 8 then try to install ZIP from sd and it just hangs there literally for hours.
Using DAF I am able to connect via USB but cannot connect via USB to get the phone to connect to the Active Synch so I can restore or switch to a clean Windows to start from scratch. I believe he may have put the SD card in after doing everything else so it isnt recognizing an SD card. PLEASE HELP I NEED THE PHONE FOR WORK...
Thanks
Have you tried using a different SD card? And have you tried restoring through the boot loader?
You can flash this nand rom AmeriCanAndroid AOSP HD2 GB2.3.7 CM7 using DAF.
As new user I am not permitted to post outside links . You can check HD2 Android NAND Development forum and download the ROM.
Think you need to format you're SD-card. Using an adapter and puting it into you're computer and format it with SD-Formatter from Panasonic.
Acces the tripple color screen (hold volume down + powerbutton and connect with USB to PC) Install HSPL
Then do a task29 to wipe you're phone.
Instal a Radio (i use Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14), aMAGDLR 1.13 and CWM.
Then install the rom.

The only way to get into fastboot with no buttons is the first time cLK is installed.
Some roms support what is called reboot into recovery.. but that still isn't fastboot..
Thanks for the reply. I replace buttons yet so it is ok now

hello were can i get a new rom for my htc hd 2 on widows mobile 6.5
To flash a WM6.5 Rom back and overwrite your HSPL (restoring it to shipped state) you will have to download an original RUU via microSD.
Just put the extracted .NBH file on a clean and formated mSD (SDHC or card larger than 2GB are not supported.) and rename it to "LEOIMG.NBH".
Then get into bootloader-mode and confirm flashing the "update" to your device. (VolDown & PowerOn for three color screen.)
For a stock RUU you have to take a look at shipped-roms.com and search the one you need for your HD2 (Leo).
