[Q] sdk custom roms in ubutnu

excuse me if this has already been asked but i did a search and could not find anything on this forum again a apologize a head of time for it.
I'm looking to see if i can load a custom rom using sdk so i can start working on a rom for my phone since no one is really working on my phone at this point and i am tired of say promised updates from cricket for my phone i pretty much gave up on cricket and sanyo on the promised update and i know of a rom on the same phone on sprint with a 2.1 version.. but im stuck in a old 1.6 android so im putting on the thinking cap and going to try some stuff on my system before i start messing things up on the android phone. so step one for me is to get a good set of instructions for ubuntu sdk eclipse i found some for windows and mac but not for ubuntu all i find is how to install sdk not anything with custom roms. thank you for reading and hopefully i can get started on my project.

Verizon Samsung Fascinate Question

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I've been browsing around for about a week reading what I could about the fascinate and what can be done with it. I'm not new to Android, but I am new to rooting and ROM's for the android devices. I used to do this all the time on my blackberry devices, but this will be the first droid I have attempted, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as far as how to root the device and install custom roms. If anyone could point me toward anything I should read before hand, and any info that can be found on the process itself, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Anthony

Beginner Android ROMs to SD

Hi, I know a million threads on this site have been created. Possibly some that touch bases with my question, but I could not find anything exact.
Having taking a few computer science classes in school I feel like I should have a good amount of knowledge as to take part developing roms for the community, and I'd love to start by porting over a fresh stock 2.3.3 rom dumped from the Nexus One to load via MGLDR (maybe RAM later on). Could anybody point me in the right direction as to reading this .img files, maybe a good set of tools, and whatever else I could use? Thanks very much.
P.S. I want to do more than the ROM Kitchen, which seems like a very useful tool still--no offense.

[Q] Newb when coming to android so can someone plz HELP!!!

Basically I want to run WinMo and Android on my tmouse HD2. What I need to know is how to install the android, everything I need with installing it and what is the best/stable android for the hd2 right now. I know how to flash custom roms but I am completely new to the android thing and want to try it out, so can someone plzzzz help??
Check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=945427
and if you want to keep WinMo, then look at HD2 Android SD Development section of HD2 android forum.
If you've got US version, then you may especially look at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
I'm not sure if his ROMs are also for TMOUS HD2, but I find the most stable ROMs by Rafdroid.
Thnx man apreciate it!
Try searching for AmeriCanAndroid. Or just go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11417869
It's a work in progress, but its a very nice build.
It's really not that difficult to do. But give the team there a break: Do read the FAQ before asking noob questions. They are pulling their hair out over users who want to be spoon fed without learning.

So what's my next step?

Hey all new here but have been lurking and learning as I go. I've got the Tmo Hd2 and recently just flashed hspl, and the energy rom onto the phone.
I'm looking to add the most functional, and stable android rom next. Any good recommendations? Oh, looking for an Sd, one. Also this would allow me to access the android market correct?
I know I'm probably missing a lot of things but please bare with me.
A lot of people will probably just post "do your research and find the best ROM that suits you", so I suggest you head over to the SD development forums, read the feedback of the more popular ROMs and find one that appears to be fast, stable and good on battery.
Almost all Android roms allow you access to the market, yes.
