HD2 Runs WP7 faster than HD7 - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

Sorry, I am new to this forum so I am not allowed to post link. Apparently, there is a video on youtube comparing HD2 running WP7 with HD7. The name is :"HTC HD2 WP7 faster then HTC HD7."
LMAO, HD7 users must feel so rip-off right now. Screw Balmer and his BS about HD2 doesn't have the hardware to run WP7. Is there anything that this god phone can't run ?

agreed! but i have to admit, the variety of apps over there is well.... wow.... if only apple hadn't advertised the iphone as much, and all these developers would be equally devided among the android market and the WP marketplace......

Would be a great kick up Captain Apple's if we could run iOs

lol, you're right....

with these types of comments you guys are no better than those idiots in the WP7 forums who get their panties in a wad if you even hint that WP7 may not be perfect in every way possible and that Android is just a piece of garbage...
iOS is a pretty awesome OS and does have pros that Android and WP7 don't have.
Personally I like Android more than WP7 or iOS (I love my dual-boot action on my HD2) but I have no clue how an HD7 vs HD2 thread turned into an iPhone bashing thread, I guess where there is insecurity there will be these types of comments.

IMHO, this is an EXCITING FEATURE, not a problem... hihihih

I myself am not a religious man,so this religious war about OSs doesnt realy interest me a bit.Whatever OS does my job well will be my choice, after testing them all,Iphone,Android,WP7,Im still using the good old WM!! and waiting for a WP7 update or an Iphone with Larger screen such as HD2 has,or whichever comes out first.
What a twist from original post.!!

Please can we have iOs on HD2 ?
also been waiting for WebOS as well

iOS. Not me.. Spare HD2 from it.

Ain't nobody here want to run a kiddie iOS on HD2. HTC HD2 can run iOS, but need to make a code in order to make it run, just like they did with Android, Ubuntu, Meego, WP7, so on...
I even hate iPhone with iOS. It suck anyway. 3.5inch is too small, and the processor on HD2 is even more better than the iPhone 4.

Yup atleast this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3hFoTflJP0] video shows that

1) HD2 cannot run iOS, it would take a significant effort to port and Apple would slap anyone who tried with a C&D so fast their head would spin. Android is open source so the you can view the source code and port things lawyer free.
2) The CPU in the A4 is manufactured by Samsung and is the same CPU in the Galaxy S (hummingbird) which is actually "even more better" than the QSD chip in our HD2s.

nice!
Regarding iOS - would be nice only to annoy I-phone users ;-)

XPeria X10 and Windows Phone

The hardware is promising, is there any opportunity any cooked rom like X2 Rom can work for X10?
I don't really see why you would like WinMo on that phone.
Android is a nice platform as well as Windows Mobile. and it got a better market place.
It is probably possible, but then people needs to get they're hands on drivers and so on first.
I hope it meant to be a joke... Windows Mobile is a piece of ****, I am more than ready to forget it for the rest of my life. Ahh and Windows Mobile 7 seems to be even worse, thanks to the removal of multitasking, the sole reason I used WinMo for years.
well when i first saw this phone i was like I GOTTA HAVE THAT PHONE... then i saw it ran android Q.Q and my dream phone got flushed in the toilet before even getting it!!! so its a very legit question if anyone have any interest in porting winmo to it!!! i love winmo and i have so many programs for it... but ill probably buy it anyway even if it got the little green leprechaun in it... or should i wait for a SE wp7s... haha jk thatll be like 2 years from now if im lucky.....
Why not just go with the HD2?
Windows mobile is terrible and outdated, android owns it in every way, why would you take it over WM? Also if you want WM that badly with awesome hardware just get the HD2, thats like people asking for the supersonic to have WM LOL, sure the Supersonic is better a bit hardware wise, but not by a crazy margin imo.

Sigh... WinMo is still the most productive, customizable and functional OS out there. Also, the best busineess solution.
Andorid is still in diapers. Maybe one day it will be able to do as much as WinMo, but for now, it can't.
I agree that there is no sense in porting a different OS to a phone not made for it, except if it's dual-boot, which is cool.

just wondering are developers able to port meego to our lovely htc hd2 devices...since it's lighter, more stable and eye candy...I think this gonna replace the ubuntu...Ubuntu is more for desktop or laptop...however, meego is available to handheld more devices, like nokia n900 with ARM processor...finger crossed and wait our most respect developers to do it...I definitely will appreaciate and donate when that day came...the purpose of open this thread just to collect the ideas and thoughts of hd2 users...BTW we are Linux and android lovers as well....

Meego or maemo would be great on the HD2... there are a lot of people interested in this.... i don't know why you would have a problem with this being developed. It's actually more of a true linux distro than android is.
Anyways.... I know a while back that dcordes was talking about releasing a maemo or meego build when he got a chance to. I'm sure that he's a very busy man, so we'll probably have to be patient for this.... but hopefully at some point we will see a build from somebody.

Hi..yeah...happy to see some positive respond...and thanks for your information,i not even know that...
Meego on HD2 makes a lot more sense than ubuntu, though I do want ubunutu as well haha.
Meego really is starting to look fairly impressive, open source, a true linux distro and Intel/Nokia are really putting money into it. Would be awesome if we could run Winmo, ubuntu, android and meego. lol, I can dream right?
Having so many OSes and choices really makes the HD2 a badass phone, what other high end phone can do the same?

Meego on our HD2's would be brilliant! IMO Not only a great alternative to Ubuntu but to Android aswell.

Complete nonsense. Meego is the main OS for all of nokia's nextgen line of high end smartphone. It is also the target OS for all of the upcoming Intel cpu based smartphones. There is a reason why there is so much investment in meego from Intel and Nokia.
Here is an old pre-alpha video of the tablet version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqeeQd-YNL0
You have to admit it looks fairly impressive, and its just a pre-alpha video.
The linux foundation also announced that meego would become the prime OS to fuel in vehicle entertainment for companies such as BMW, GM, etc.
Meego is no ATM or vending machine OS. It has lots of support and momentum behind it and I'm quite sure it will be a major upcoming mobile OS.

Whats wrong with people like you? why do you install Linux or MacOsx (Hackintosh) on your windows certified PC? Why you have android or WP7 in your HD2?? you do it because you can! thats the thing! I wish I could have iOS in my HD2, just for fun, just to prove that I can, just because it would be nice to have the option, just because I could say to my friends I have a better phone than you, just because I want to show Mr Jobs how you reinvent the mobile phone.
I know that it is close to impossible, but it would be awesome if someone could do it!
I do not want to start a fight, though I will use your on kind of words,
IF you want ANDROID = GET AN ANDROID PHONE!
IF you want WP7 = GET AN WP7 PHONE!
IF you want UBUNTU, KUBUNTU, Win98 = GET A COMPUTER!
IF you want MEEGO = BUY A NOKIA!
The reason that you do not do the above, is because you can do it with your HD2.
Next time, instead of asking to ban someone try to be more polite and think of all the modding you have done to your PC and HD2 and try to be more polite.
Remember when noobs asked, 'could we get Android on the HD2', 'Android on SD is nice but could it be on NAND', 'I saw a WP7 demo on running on the HD2 on youtube, is it possible to have it on the HD2 for real'.
When it actually hapeened, I was totally in admiration of the hackers (true sense of the word).
iOS, as has been said before is a closed system, so it would have to be reversed engineere and other far too technical work for my comprehension. And what would be the result, gloating rights over iphone users? I want a phone that does what I need it to do and can be tailored exactly to what I want it to be. WP7, like iOS is too restrictive. Android, I have played about with it on SD (where is runs very well), but I keep on coming back to good ol' WinMo.
i also wish that ios can be ported to hd2.. its would be nicer with those real multitouch, smoothness no lag at all when scrolling between pages, and many more.. from what i've learn, the main hardware, most of them are on the same level.. 1ghz, 512 ram.. so it might be possible..

i-Phone envy for the Terminally Challenged
Haha, envy of the i-phone, are you ill?
What can the i-Phone do?
A lot less than your SuperBeast HTC HD2.
What can iOS do?
A lot less than ALL THE OTHER OS you can have on your HTC HD2.
It would only be good for bragging rights, which is fair enough on its own I suppose, but what actual use would it be?
None, you wouldn't be able to DO anything you couldn't already do better using any of the other OS on your HTC HD2.
Between them, the OS available and your HD2 out-perform iOS and i-Phone in every department, and WP7 is very close (at the very least) to out-performing them on its own. Bring on the up-dates, it's time to harvest the Apple crop.
When did MS become the peoples champion by the way, I must have missed something. The i-Phone, Mac and Apple in general were supposed to free us from the MS cage, but all they've achieved is to build a prettier cage with stronger bars over the Windows, and Appl(e)y some fairy dust ($$$$$$$$$$Tens of Millions of advertising and marketing) to it.
Long live XDA and all of its' members.

So do I. I think a wp7 gui i very comfortible and useful. Imho the future belongs to wp7 phones.
I was here for a simple wi-fi ad hoc connection and to know if is possible wi fi sharing (now I know that it's so difficult but not impossible) for my lg optimus 7.
Sorry guys, not for offende noone but it's true that wp7 is easy but smartphone IMHO are mini pc and for me they must be able to navigate (if free it's better), have native multitasking, have flash for a best browsing experience, a little bit of game, just for fun or as timekiller, and some tool for syncronize calendar and mail for business. I'm an ex wm 6.1 lover with htc diamond and others, an apple's hater for restricted policy and wp7 is going in this direction. So for me, and I'm so sorry for this, wp7 have all the defects of osx Without the benifits of apple store. The only benifits over apple is that I can choose an economic device or high end device, but there's no compare with Android. Please, try a Samsung Galaxy S or Desire HD with a cooked rom and with lagfix actived. Now my lg optimus 7 is a paperweight.....

Maybe this Android freedom is interesting for who is discovering this kind of thing now, but as a former user of Symbian and WinMo for the last 5 years, this "freedom" isn't interesting for me anymore.
I don't need a "mini PC" in my pocket, I just want to do what I need to do quickly, and for that, WP7 is the best for me.
I don't know for you guys, but I get sick of all those menus and sub-menus to access everything I need on Symbian/WinMo/Android.
I would like to get a little bit more freedom on WP7, but I still can do all I need to do, so it's ok.
Don't you trolls have a cave gathering somewhere? I could swear it was the troll mating season.

yes i did. you seem to be jealous that ios is a better ios than other devices. but its a shame that ios isnt ported to other devcies. it'd make many such phones really cool, like the hd2.
its sad that ios wont ever be ported to other devices. and if deveolpers had the power to mod ios for other phones, and if they didnt, theyd be hypocrites. if you dont think this isnt hypocricy convince them about it and challenge it if apple opens their source code one day.

you could be right about wm7
"Smooth" is really a matter of perception. I have an iPod Touch 4G and I use various Android builds on the HD2. I prefer Android to iOS because I can use it just the way I like it; my homescreen, my widgets, my rules. iOS looks spectacular and apps look great on it, but I don't see how it is in any way superior to dual core droids like the HTC Sensation and SGS2. The same, of course, applies to the apps.

i installed 2 droid builds on my hd2. they both failed to live up. the cal;l quality was very bad and cam was not as sharp on the stock rom. but i wish there were a way to run droid and apple apps on the hd2... if that ever happens i'll be in heaven.
Are there certain apps you want to run? There would most likelyy be alternatives

I think he's referring more to the iOS experience in general rather than specific functional deficiencies - I don't think that will ever be accomplished, unless Apple suddenly wakes up to the realisation that open source is the way to go. Fat chance.

Dude, are you using Android or WinMo? Because you can get those apps for Android. And WP7 does NOT have more apps than any platform at the moment.
