[Q] Calender App - Folio 100 Themes and Apps

Hi,
i am looking for a Calendar like the Galaxy Tab or iPad Calender for our Folio.
The Calendar feature on the iPad functions much like a real day planner, and you can flip through pages by the day, week or month.
I like the iPad calender Style, like my old Filo on my Desk and thats what i miss on my Folio.
Any Idea?
Thx

Try calengoo. It syncs with google calendar and it works out of the box.

Or Jorte (its free)

Thanks for ur Replay.
But both calendar are not that what im looking for.
Im looking for a nice looking calendar like the iPad-one.
Ok, we are all using Android, but one Apple thing is unmatched... The Design.
All Android Apps are very usefull, but sometimes are very ugly.
Look for one the "ToDo"-App from the iPad. Its so damn cool looking.
Why we dont have such Apps on our Android Tablet?
Mail`d is one, i thing. But there are insufficient Apps for Android, that have a good looking AND a good function.
Thx to u, guys

Maybe the Notion Ink calender app is what your looking for? the apk file is linked some where in the FolioNotion mod thread.

I try to clarify what im looking for.
Pls have a look to this App: miCal HD
Ok, ist certainly an iPad app, but this is, what im looking for.
But i think, theres no chance to get such an calendar for our Android Tablet.
Thx

Jorte does not work on stock toshiba rom. It needs android calendar to work.

Best one i've found is the calendar from Notion Ink Adam. Absolutely sublime. as is the e-mail client.
Both available from below

Change default twitter app

Hi - does anyone know of a way to change the default twitter app in the friendfeed from Peep to Touiteur (Which IMO is a FAR better twitter app)?? I only got my handset today and it's my first android device - so slowly getting to grips with it!

SWIFT is one of best twitter clients on android

No, sorry, i don't, but in terms of better twitter apps, have you looked at SWIFT ? It's been the new rising star in twitter clients on android.
On a second note: Since I have not yet received my Desire, could you pleas post either screenshots or a list of settings/preferences that DO show for Friendfeed? I ask specifically about setting intervals for refreshing the stream. Does it provide separate refresh rates for each of the feeds, or just one main one, or none at all?
I ask because this is predictably going to be the biggest battery drainer on the Desire, so I am just getting a leg up before getting my device :;
Sorry - i spoke too son and not even checked out:
http://levelupstudio.com/touiteur
looks like a great twitter client -- and what i just found out is it supports the "twitlonger" API, which makes it, to me all the more useful.

Why twitlonger?

Ok, my wife is the one with the Desire, but from using latest version on my Hero.
Just go to Settings> Accounts & Sync
Click on Twitter, then simply click on 'Remove Account'
That will remove all twitter from FriendFeed.
Then simply use whatever other app you want, either by clicking on the app icon to start it, or by installing the app's widget if it has one.

Thanks for this, but I would like to continue using the friend feed, just not use peep as the default app when opening a post from the friend feed.
@quicksite - No settings I can see for refreshing at all...Battery life was pretty poor yesterday, but i did play non stop with my new toy for like 8 hours

Does this app exist?

I want to be able to take notes quickly on my computer and have them readily availble on the mobile. Sounds easy but cant find the right app - any suggestions?
What would be cool is if the notes app was a chrome extension, you click it on type the note and its on the handset. Would be text and numbers and for telephone numbers it would be one-click to dial.
Hi
I have no idea If this exists or not, but if it doesnt it doesn't sound tooooo hard. I want to experiment with Android den and this sounds like a nice learner project. If you're willing to wait what might be several months (!) then maybe I can work with you make it?
Paul
3banana app lets you sync notes from your web browser to your phone.
Work pretty well. Not sure how fast it is for your use.
I think there's a Google tasks extension for chrome, use that for notes. Download on your phone something like SSI gTasks or another app that can read Google tasks and there you go, notes on your phone from your browser.

Complete replacement for Samsung apps

Seeing as the Samsung apps are pretty crappy I thought I'd come up with a list of total replacements. All suggestions welcome
Touchwiz home - launcher pro
Email - k9
Samsung Facebook - Android Facebook
Samsung Twitter - android Twitter
Samsung keyboard - HTC_ime
Daily briefing - fancy widget + news rob
Still need decent sms client. Phone and contacts seem ok as they are.

An explanation for each suggestion would be sufficient for us to change our mind.
I also suggest the Droid X keyboard, it's far far better than both samsung and htc keyboards. It also support multitouch and writing is really fast.
The Samsung keyboard is great, how many of the other give you access to cursor keys are cut and paste?
I'd like to see a replacement for daily briefing.
Coming from a windows 6.5 phone I like the display of multiple appointments.
My Daily Briefing only shows one appointment per day and nothing for the next day. It would be good if it could display all appointments in one day and also the next day. It may be difficult if you have many appointments, but for people like me who use it for a memory jogger with 2-3 appointments(reminders really) per day....
I would say that a replacement for messaging is handcent sms, I think its far better than the default. I disagree with the keyboard though, samsungs is great and nothing can beat swype

Scrub that, just paid £1.49 for Pure Calender. Does exactly as I had asked. I suppose thats the the great thing about apps and widgets. There is always something out there that will do what you need!!!
When you say you replace these applications, do you remove the stock applications from Samsung or you leave it installed still? How do you remove them?

Not meaning to actually uninstall them or anything, just alternatives to get from the Market and use instead.
There's nothing stopping you from having multiple twitter or facebook apps. =P
For keyboards, you need to download and install the app, then go to Settings -> Locale and text -> tick the new keyboard if there's a checkbox.
Then to switch to that keyboard, open a random app such as memo that uses a keyboard and touch-hold on a text input to until 'Input Method' pops up and choose the keyboard you want.

wow! almost as me, the only difference i like the Droid X keyboard instead
I've since moved to Feedr as it compresses RSS and uses much less battery & date. Handcent seems to be the best SMS software out there because of the popup that you can reply in without having to launch the app and the customisation options.
For keyboards, the samsung keyboard is flawed because the suggestion bar pops up and down as you type. This means when you hit space, the whole screen above you moves down when the bar disappears and as soon as you type again it pops up. This is really annoying to look at when your textbox is jumping around.
As for cursor keys. You can use swype for this. Help files have detailed info.
The HTC Evo keyboard has cursor keys, but settings cause force close, so I stick with HTC_IME for the time being.
Also... I've got DiallerOne as an alternative to the normal phone app. I think I actually prefer the normal one though. Looks better and DiallerOne doesn't seem to offer much in the way of additional functionality.

I picked up Smooth Calendar for free after seeing it recommended. Seems pretty good, so, check it out if you want to see if it's maybe better...I shouldn't go in depth on it as I won't have a good basis to judge it from.
Regarding RSS, I prefer using the browser and Google Reader.

[Q] Brilliant Idea! But I can't do it...

I wish I knew how to develop worth anything so I could put this into reality:
I'd love a widget that streamed updates (like a ticker maybe?) from all kinds of sources on your phone. It could grab unread emails, facebook updates, news posts, weather, etc. Just generally all updated content from your phone. Sort of like a 'What's Going On in Your Phone' ticker.
Is this possible? Would anyone be willing to create this? I would buy much beer for he who could.
you mean the notification bar

It's a good question/idea. I'll see if there's a way of grabbing the notifications to put them in a widget.
C'mon seriously why would you need an extra widget for that? DRY principle anyone?
I would buy this thing the day it comes out, if ever! Amazing idea, would make the phone more useful and also provide a good look to it!

There could be various reasons to have such an app, mate! It might not be useful to you but maybe to others. If you don't like it, then you can always uninstall it, if ever you install! I, personally, would want such an app.
HTC Sense has a widget called friendstream which does this sort of thing, email, facebook and twitter etc.
There is a Friends widget at Launcher Pro Plus (Paid 2.99. I am too happy with it that I donate 5)
Twitter, Facebook Buzz etc are supported, not sure about emails though. I use seperate widgets for each one.
Well, if I catched it up right, you're looking for a phone like the Samsung Galaxy S Continuum with it's extra ticker display?

Best way to share game saves and twitter timeline between N7 and phone?

Found some solution online but couldn't try them cause I haven't received my N7 yet to try them out:
GameShare
DataSync
GameOn
Also is there an app that sync where you stopped at your timeline? that would be great.
Can you share your experience if you tried them? if not try and tell your experience to the Android realm : )
Hands down datasync. Well to be fair I haven't tried the other two, but that's because I never had to. Datasync works flawlessly even when it first got released for me. I used that to transfer some save data from a few apps today when I got my N7. Give them all a try but definitely start with DataSync.
Thank You!
What about twitter? is there any twitter app with timeline position sync.
the only solution I've found is using TweetMarker. which am trying when N7 arrives

Tweetmarker works quite well. The only two Twitter apps that I know of that use it are Plume and Tweetlanes. Tweetlanes isn't officially supported on tablets though, but the developer makes the apk availabale here: https://plus.google.com/104649936579980037256/posts/53SL5vZ3kZL
Boid is meant to add Tweetmarker support, but their development of key features isn't exactly quick so I wouldn't hold out.
