How To See All APPS on the Market - Adam General

I found this on Notioninkhacks.com to get your Android Market to show all the Apps! it worked for me
Original Source: http://notioninkhacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=459&start=35
Settings -- Applications -- Manage Applications
Choose All
Choose Market
Force Stop
Back out, choose Google Service Framework
Force Stop
Clear Data
Back out to the homescreen, run the Market (it should fail - that's what we want)
Reboot
Wait at least one minute after the system boots up, then retry the Market.
Just Loving my Adam Even more each day

This worked great for me. Got google maps. Thanks

Has anyone verified if the Adam has a valid device fingerprint in the build.prop?
Some GTablet users still don't consider this the full market fix as there were still occasionally apps missing due to fingerprint issues in the build.prop file. This "Full Market" thread contains some details on the fix.
PS. The steps you posted are basically the same set of steps I mentioned on January 24th in your Installing the Market?? thread. I can't take any credit for them anyway though as I originally learned about them from XDA when I had my gtab.

Hi,
How do you choose Google Service Framework? Please help.

Must choose the tab with "All" services on top. then you'll be able to see Google Service Framework.
This method was working at first, now it's giving mix results.

Anyone have a Froyo Archos with full Market Protected App access

After the market fix has been applied I see most apps (including some that I know are protected) but not all. From my experience on the DroidX, this is usually an issue with the build.prop not reporingt a valid ROM to google.
For example, I can search on my DX for "wii controller ime" and find the app. My Archos 101 does not. (I side loaded it.)
If someone has a build.prop for an Archos Gen 8, that will see that send it my way please.
Can you tell me what you've changed in the build.prop of your DX?
ok, done:
I just took the fingerprint from a galaxy tab:

This sounds cool! Is there a way a non rooted device can get this? Perhaps by some installation.apk
Thanks
Definitly not possible without root. I don't know if it's even possible with temproot

Yeah, basically you need to fool the market into thinking you have a certified device. Not an easy task from what I understand. If you have a rooted Android phone you can download te app there, then use Titainium Backup to get the apk off the phone and side load it on you Archos. At least tha is what I do.

Hi chulri,
I follow your instruction above by modifying the fingerprint in /system/build.prop, then did the same market fix as instructed by the gappsinstall thread, reboot. I still can't find the gun bros app.
What else I have to do? (I had 2.1.4 rw root installed before doing this)
Now "My Apps" list is gone in the Google Market, can I get the list back?
Update: ok, it works now. I have to clear cache, clear data, force stop and then run the Market again. Now Gun Bros also shows up, and My Apps list also populate.
I still can't find Heywire app, anyone can see this app after this mod?
I have used archangel to root, then used marketenabler app from the market,
no other steps involved.
I seem to see all apps now (not 100% sure on that) but, definately see some protected apps that I couldnt see before and havent come across any on my HTC Desire that the Archos isnt seeing now.

Gun Bros is available on Archos Apps Lib anyway

[Solved]I think the Market Fix trick only work in old Market, it means you need to "Uninstall updates" after clean cache and force stop the Market.
Can someone please post up step by step how to edit the build.prop file ??
I've never done such a thing and I'm desperately trying to figure this out for a guide that I'm working on putting together..
I'm rooted (perma root) FWIW
Thanks a TON.
I use a file manager to copy the file to the sd and then connect to the computer via usb and edit with notepad++.. don't use windows notepad or wordpad as I've had problems with them. After the file is edited.. safely disconnect from the computer. Then I add .bak to the end of the original file and then copy the new edited file over to replace it.
I hope that helps. I believe there are also text editors in the market, but I like editing with a real keyboard.

Here: I"ve used the RootExplorer method detailed in this forum:
http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all-things-root/154976-2-2-market-issues-use-mod.html
Also to all: There are two states possible with the Market. Fixed if you the clear cache hack, unfixed if you do not do it or if you undo it...(to undo just do the clear Cache path but add clear data....no need to stop googleservicesframework and no need to reboot...just restart Market app and accept legal terms). The difference fixed state gives more apps but will hide some others from you: you get google maps, zeam, ADW, ...but you loose Google Earth, Flash Player 10, TVU, .... Jus to name a few. So the key thing is to know how to quicly switch from one state to the other. use the clear cache hack to get into fixed state and use my undo rootine (clear data) to revert the fix.
Once you add the fix to build prop you pretty much have now 4 possible states:
Please see my post below for my tests on the 4 different states and some conclusions
http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=48312
Here's how to very easily undo the fix if you need to...
..Once you've done the Market fix you do not need to reinstall Market to go back to state before applying the fix. Once you do the Market fix you will gain access to few more apps but many apps requiring froyo will no longer show up anymore: that's the case of apps like TVU, Flash 10, .... (there must be many more). I suspect the market fix makes the device and generic device but not a froyo one.
To go back an forth between the fix and the original state all you need is to do this;
go to Settings --- Applications --Manage Applications ---Running -- Market ---Clear Cache ----Clear Data --Force Stop--Relaunch Market ---Accept Terms and Conditions ---
Voila. and you're back to the original State where you can find flash 10 & other froyo only apps.
If you do the the fix...you loose flash ..but gaine other apps...the fix skip the Clear Data steps ...and the Clear Data step will undo the fix. THe fix requires reboot..To undo it you do not need to reboot and do not need to stop googleframework.
I do this fix and after seach keyword "adnroid" i get about 143000 apps.
Is it ok?

Yes, that's fine...you good...fixed state, fixed buld.prop
but note you may still not see some apps with are available in unfixed state, fixed build.prop (like TVU, Google Earth, Adobe Connect, flash 10.01,..)
That's the con of fixed state...you gain some you loose some....

Installing the Market??

Basically anyone have any idea how to install the market? I tried installing latest built of the Android Market but it wont launch...
Did you try the normal set of steps to get the Market working? (Part 3 from this post)
Eg. Open Market (fail). Stop Google Services Framework and Market from Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. Clear the cache / data for Google Services Framework and Market. Open the Market and you should receive an error message. Reboot the device and re-open the Market. It should go through this time. Some people then recommend rebooting one more time.
I don't have the Adam in my hands, so I can't test this right now. You can also use Titanium Backup to stop the apps and clear the cache / data which is attached to the bottom of this post.
thanks for the info. i will try to get it installed. but unfortunate i gotta work now. so i wont have an answer until tonight

Doesn't the market have to be put in /system/app? And at that point you need root to install it? I'm not sure if that's correct or not, but that's my understanding.

I'm honestly not sure. I've always done the Market fix from ROMs that had the market pre-packaged, but not working. Unfortunately, I don't have any devices to test... still waiting on my Adam to be shipped (on the 29th). Perhaps someone with more Market fix experience can chime in... or some research on other parts of XDA might be helpful.
It looks like some of the devs (from the G-Tab forums) are already on top of things... check out some of the threads from the Development section. Specifically, in this thread, rothnic has already released an update.zip package that adds root access and the stock Google Apps.
It also looks like Roebeet from the G-tablet section has also installed the NI firmware on his gtablet which means we should expect some benefits to bleed over from the work they do for the G-tablet.

My Apps is empty in Market

Hi All,
There are already threads for this problem, but all possible solutions are not working
My apps are not showing anymore in Market.
Clear cache is not working
Clear cache and reboot is not working
Clear cache foreclose and reboot is not working
Market dokter Titanium does not work
I always get a agreement of de market but again my apps are empty.
Did a full wipe and reinstalled ARHD 6.3.2 then restoren my apps by Titanium
A see all the Apps in my Apps, but again later on... everything is empty
Somebody have same issues?
Cheers,
Peter
If you find an app you have purchased before, does it allow you to install it? Or does it say its "incompatible" with your device?
It is allowed to download it and install it. And i have no new phone... so maybe my account is corrupt at Google side?
Try the following, if you have superuser permissions.
In the file /system/build.prop find the line starting with ru.build.fingerprint, and replace symbols JFM to JJ7
If this not works, in the same file find the option ro.sf.lcd_density=167 and change 167 to 160. You may set another value, eg. 240.
After saving the changes you should reboot.

My ro.build.fingerprint is like:
ro.build.fingerprint=htc_wwe/htc_ace/ace:2.3.5/GRJ90/$:user/release-keys
Do i replace GRJ90 then?
ro.sf.lcd_density=240 this is my line
Have change this things but did not work.
clear cache did also not work again...

Better first try to change LCD density to 160. I'm not sure about fingerprint in non-Russian roms
Btw, are the permissions for build.prop set correctly after making changes?

I use a build.prop editor this saves the file and correct the permissions.
Even uninstalled the market update did not work
IT is working again:
unimstalled the update of market
Clean data from google services framework.
Then force close
Clean data of market
Then force close
Reboot
Now it seems to work....
After update of market app the problem is back. Now i try the same steps as above...
After the steps above without remove market update i got my list back...
But after a change from portrait to landscape the list is gone again....
Seems like Google developers "fixed" something again. Try to ask their support

I discover it was a App problem. When i did a full restore of Titanium the problem was there... When i did every time 5 apps restore i use for long time the problem was gone...
I do not know that app gives this error.. because i delete all other apps what i think it was the problem and even do not use them anymore as well..
It is a update of something .. so my problem is solved.
Also, Market Fixer can help to solve the problem. Root required!
Market fixer did not work... have try that already.. but it is solved now...
Official fix for me...
Requirements:
Market Fixer app installed
Faith and patience
Intructions:
1) go to manage applications in your settings, tap view all and force close "Market" (don't delete any data)
2) while still there, also delete "Google Services Framework"'s data and force close it
3) run "Market Fixer", tap analyse market links, select all of them and tap remove market links ONLY
4) go to "My Apps" inside Android Market and make sure there's a Retry button on the screen telling you it couldn't communicate with the server, if there isn't, repeat step 2 and re-check
5) re-run "Market Fixer" to be sure the links didn't get recreated, and if none appear, reboot
6) go to "My Apps" as soon as you boot completely
7) if previously bought apps appear on the list, go to the free apps category and install a new one (this will recreate your market's database with working information)
8) check "My Apps" one last time, all apps should be there now
9) if you want, reboot once more and go to "My Apps" again to make sure everything's in working order with your "My Apps" list
10) dance the macarena, shoot a few hoops or just enjoy your victory like i did
11) make sure you don't re-link those evil apps to your market so you don't have to redo all of this
***As you could've noticed, the idea behind the first five steps is to keep the market from recreating the links or having to clear the data for Google Services Framework many times (both happen when the market's still running in background).***

unable to purchase paid apps googleplay

hi guys, as the title says...
I have cleared cache and data,
tried deleting my account and adding it again
reflashed my rom (taboonay 3.01.)
As soon as hit purchase I get "an error occurred. Please try again".
I can purchase via my phone and pc with no probs but not on my tab. Free apps are fine its just the paid ones, oh, and the in game apps wont either.
My next step is to factory reset but hoping someone may be able to help before having to go down that route.
ps I tried using my tabs browser to get to the webstore and successfully made a purchase - yay!! unfortunately it failed to download and the market shows no evidence of me having purchased it -boo!!. Emailed for a refund which i rec'd - phew!!
Which error code have you been receiving?
I know there have been issues with the market for a while now, and a lot of it is on google's side.
I had that on 3.2, same error.
What I did, was delete the current vending.apk
Copy in a different Market.apk, renamed it to vending.apk
Checked permissions to make sure they were the same as all other files in the same directory.
Then, go to App Manager, and delete the caches for the Market app.
Reboot, then do the sign in thing again for the market. It will eventually update itself. Should be good to go.
No error code is given, just what I posted "an error occurred. Please try again" as soon as I hit "Accept and Download".
I emailed googleplay support who inferred that my custom rom was at fault, typical support answer!! no-one else running taboonay seem to have issues so will wait a few days and try a full wipe an' format.
@moscow - thanks will try your suggestion first moscow, cheers
edit: seems there are some peeps psoting the same issue in the taboonay thread - i should have begun reading the newer posts, rather than older ones first...
new googleplay update 3.5.15
apparently there has been an update to googleplay i don't know when and not sure which version i currently running - not until i get home anyway.
i got the apk from droid-life if anyone wants it
I'm getting the same errors . Anyone have any ideas?
Tried moscows suggestion but no joy
So, factory reset, full wipe and full format and still no joy...
fixed...sorta
k, i just restored an icylicious backup and success!!! Heaven knows why it wont work on taboonay for some of us - anyways, if anyone comes up with a proper solution pls feel free to post it...
Did you try to download a free app first and then a payed one ?
I never had market problems and I flash almost every day clean install for testing.
I would suggest to keep trying and first a free app.
I added the phonesky.apk (original acer vending app) ,
First remove the playstore or vending app (depending on what it is called) in system/app with file manager with root.
Then copy / paste the phonesky.apk in that system/app folder and reboot but make sure before you do this all to clear cache and data of market app in settings apps.

Yes, that is an option, Are u on taboonay? -I tried the webstore but it gives me 9 or 10 different devices for my one and only tab!! I picked one and tho the purchase went thru fine - it never downloaded to tab so dunno where it ended up. Becoz it never actually got to my tab, I never got the refund option - had to email support for that, so i figure its easier to switch roms
Something that seemed to work for me
EDIT: It was crazy just tried to buy xda app and failed...... Ignore the rest of this post!!!
It might sound a bit crazy, but after doing a full format have you tried installing a HC ROM and making a purchase / downloading something free, then installing Tabooney 3.0.1 again? I had a ROM that was causing me the same issues + many others with certain apps I use alot, so I scrapped ICS for a month or so and used a couple of other ROMS (all HC) then tried Tabooney again. Amazingly it worked and purchases went through... Maybe not 'everythnig' is fully cleared out and installing a HC ROM killed the issue?? Not too sure, but I no longer have purchasing issues on my Desire HD or A500 with ICS... Just rage face when apps crash and playstore shuts and random stuff stops responding for a few seconds! (just removed ICS from my A500 after the GPS once again started teleporting me into fields and other roads from what i was on again... dam I want to be able to have a solid ICS ROM )
Anyways hope that helps someone

k, i used the latest date and tried to install a previously purchased app, got the "will be d/l to your device shortly" after 30 mins I'm still waiting...
one thing I've noticed, I d/l a couple of free apps from the playstore on my tab. They are installed. The webstore however, shows them in 'My Apps' but to install only - therefore, they are not installed according to the webstore. So, I'm thinking perhaps the devices that are showing are ones that I have registered thru acer when I have intalled a new rom??? does that make sense - I know what I'm trying to say just not sure its comin out right, lol.
If i download apps in the market/playstore but the webstore don't see them as installed AND trying to d/l from the webstore to a "device" leaves me waiting, waiting, waiting. Then the webstore is not seeing the current "device" that I'm using??? Maybe becoz its not registered???? If u r on taboonay could u check to see if this is the case for you???
EDIT: I went to acer to register. Entered my SNID and it tells me it is INVALID...the plot thickens....

Actually, after thinking about this, the latest date that shows might be the one you chose in the online store before, the one that didn't work. Try this- go into the google play app and Install a free app. Doesn't matter which one. Then, go to the online store and see if the name of the latest used device is any different. Mine is called Acer A500 by the store, if that helps.

Yeah, I'm completely baffled. No one else with ziddey's kernel tweak is complaining about this, so I'm hesitant to suspect it.
Cleared cache and dalvick, fixed permissions, cleared data on the play market and vpn'd into the US, still same problem.
I'm not sure how I would update Google services... isn't that something that would update automatically?

No it will not auto update, but it will usually prompt you once you update an app that needs it... there will be a "Security Update required" notification in the drop-down, if you swipe it away or don't allow it to update, Android will gladly let you but your apps will not function properly that require the update. The current version installed can be found in Settings-Apps-All- Google Play Services and should be 4.3.25 (1117461-036) as of this posting
It will also not allow you to search or find it in your Apps list in the Play Store without the direct link, so here it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms
Hope that helps, because otherwise a factory default might be in order, and if the problem still persists, reflashing stock images could be required.

Then I tried sideloading the latest updates of a couple of google apps (books and drive) - it worked, but still the error message in the Play Store.
Oh well. I guess that's that.
Did you modify the screen resolution? if so that could be why you are receiving that error. I experienced that with my Galaxy Nexus. If you keep resolution stock it shouldn't display that message unless for whatever reason the app truly isn't compatible with the phone.
Ive had this issie with certain apps that i KNOW are compatible with my phone. Whenever i get this error, i just use an alternate source, like blackmart, or googling the app you want to download and download it from somewhere besides google play.
Then again, since you are running a lot of custom things, you may want to try starting over from stock, not customizing anything, then try downloading those apps and seeing if your still getting that error.
Thanks, but the apps most definitely are compatible with the phone. They're Google apps on a nexus phone! And they're already installed (either stock or via the market, with no errors).
I'm aware that I can sideload the apps and have done do so successfully with a couple of them, but that really defeats the convenience of automatic updates, especially seeing as it's my wife's phone.
I will, when I have time, try factory restoring or flashing stock and going from there. The mods I'm using are fairly minor, but I suppose something, somewhere must have gotten screwed up.
Oh well, thanks for all the help anyway.

If your rooted, download lucky patcher, and theres an option to download a modded google play store. Have no idea if this will help with your issue, but its just an idea if wanna wanna give it a shot.

He already has the apps installed, that's not the issue, these are even stock Google apps saying they are incompatible after successfully installed. Unfortunately this is probably a wipe and reinstall situation now.

or he should watch at the build.prop or there is something edited or need to wipe data from google playstore or there is some xposed module which is causing it I don't know but if you edited a lot on that custom rom with kernel and like that backup it first don't go immediately to stock or else it was just wasted time for you. It could also be your dpi but I don't think that's it also wipe cache in recovery that might work.
I'm sure this will work for you.
Open Settings app → Tap on Apps → Look for the Google Play Store and tap on it → Press on three-dots at the right corner and Tap on Uninstall updates → Tap on Ok to confirm
That's it!
