It looks and runs great....much smother than the same game on my epic 4g. Unfortunately, the fact that the A7 doesn't have multi touch makes it a little irritating to play. It can be done though. I haven't tried it with the xbox controller mod.

Sweet thanks. Will install it later.

Make sure you have the room and time for the download. It's a big one.

What about the popular emulators like Gameboy and genesis? Do they play ok on the Elocity? Asking because of the multi touch.

They play amazing. I just got my Xbox 360 controllers in today. I've been stuck on Mario 3 Most of this evening! The NES,SNES,Genises, And GBA work great. But the PSX is not the best. Though it's hard enough on any device to get PSX emulator smooth enough to play more then once.
You would have to install the MOD from the XDA Fourm. But it's very much worth the time and effort. It's a tweak of Dexter's Mod, So your not losing anything.Hope that gives you a lil help
Happy gaming!

Thanks I<3Android
Will look into the mod soon.

if you have java you can use mobiles24.com you have to sign up (free) and ten you get about 30 dl's a day. there are some ok time killers in there. some are hit and miss with installation. im guessing you have a herald/wing, so you need to select games at 240x320 screen size. give it a shot. after dl open esmertec jbed and menu/install/local files. good luck

There are some emulators for your herald. With these you can download and play nintendo, super nintendo and playstation games.
Here is a link to the emulators:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369855

You can download playstation roms here:http://romhustler.net/roms/psx/a
?
does playstation actually run well on the herald? even on my PC (dual core, 2gb ram, x850 platinum video card) there are parts of games that can lag up terribly (during some 3d FMV's and such).
I assume you definitely have to be running a pretty stripped down rom to use it at all playably... would OTP7 be too bulky to run the playstation emu on?
thanks =)

works fine for me.
and it runs *smoothly* on PSX games? wow
thx! =)
I just flashed to OPT 7.3.1, and pocketSNES runs SLOW - it ran slow on the stock ROM as well, but I was hoping a better rom would fix the problem. oh well.
do you have any tips or tweaks for me to speed up my PocketSNES gameplay?
I can't imagine emulating PSX on this phone if even the SNES emu runs slow.....

Emulators

I know this topic has always been beaten to death but I havn't found anything related to the HTC Touch Pro 2/Tilt 2. I've been looking for NES/SNES/Genesis emulators and I've tired a few, most of them are really laggy especially with sound.
Has anyone found any that work? And if so, did you mod it at all to play better on the Touch Pro 2?
Thanks!
bump. anyone?
A lot of people say morphgear works well. I have it and I think I have an older version because it gives me an error code. I would like to have the newest one. Smartgear is another option but it doesnt to SNES games like morphgear.
For Playstation I have FPSEce and have FF7. It works but is too laggy for me. I just play it on my PSP now.
Anyone have any other info?

Mind to try it with different gfx driver and give us feedback if there are any improvements?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546522
...would try it myself, but right now i dont have time to STFW on psx game images
I installed that cab and it did not do anything for the emulators i've tried, smartgear and pocketnester. Still real laggy.

Unfortunately, Universal's keyboard can only register one keypress at once (at least with the Windows Mobile driver, I think Linux distributions can register multiple presses). That means you can't move and jump/shoot at the same time, for example. You're pretty much limited to turn based RPG and strategy games, even if you can get an emulator working.
You could try a bluetooth keyboard or even a gamepad and see how that works, if emulation's very important to you.

Awesome Games

What games are you finding that are better on a Tablet than on a Phone?
I downloaded Dungeon Defenders. The game is optimized for Tegra Chips. You should give it a try. Awesome graphics.
What is your favorite?
Alchemy is definitely better on a tablet over a phone.
Do you know any driving games that work on Elocity?
Thanks
Speed Forge 3D!
Thanks a lot... I will try it.

You may want to post a new thread with your question. I am sure it will lead to further questions and take this thread off topic.
Check out Samurai II: Vengeance for Tegra. Blows the rest away.

No need for a thread on this one.
Open app drawer, poke app, profit.
Nvidia has a new app for tegra. It's called tegra zone. The app has all the new games and apps made with tegra in view.

Bought it on my evo, should still like to know why I couldn't find it on the a7 though.
I was trying to reply to the person who couldn't figure out how to install Angry Birds.
But while I'm here...
I love: Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Paper Toss, Pinball Deluxe, Untangle Space Out, aTilt 3D Labyrinth, Ancient Frog, Slots Royale, Bubble Blast, Jewels... (yeah, I'm a chick)...etc.
I'm having a blast and spending way too much time playing games!

You know there's a little tab on the right hand-middle of the desktop. You should be able to click that and your app should be there to click and go. Perhaps you downloaded but the system is still waiting for your instruction to install (happens with some apps)...then you should ckick on settings button, check notifications...if it requires you to click on install, do it. I've customized my A7 a lot so it's hard to remember just how it is from stock. If these options don't work, maybe someone else can help you.
Don't get too frustrated. This is a fantastic device...you have to get to know it and make it work for you.

[Q] Emulators?

How are emulators such as snesoid, gameboid, and psx4droid running on this? psx4droid or the other PS1 emulator running a lot better due to Tegra? Mine shipped today and will be here tomorrow and I'm just wondering...thanks!
FPSE is out for PSX emulation - it has worked well for Notion Ink Adam owners so far.

Yeah that's the one I meant. I've been playing around with it on my Droid X and it runs so much better than psx4droid. Do the emulators scale to the screen normally?
I havent personally tried yet as im waiting for my notion ink, but my friend has and says it works really well - you can choose the scaling in the options
awesome!
i just tried out pokemon fire red on gameboid. its hilarious to see it so big. lol. but it works great. scaling sound and controls are perfect.

Amazing lol
Bluetooth Wiimote controller app still work as well? I'll end up using this as a damn portable >_<
Any word on that nullDC Dreamcast emu port? Should run a hell of a lot better on this beast!
Emulators are working great! Fullscreen and everything.
hmm i havent tried the wiimote just yet. i'm mid homework so ill give that a run in a few. ive never beleived in touch screen emulation other that games like pokemon or yugioh card games because movement isn't all that important. i cant imagine trying to run something like god of war without physical buttons.
Would anyone be kind enough to post a pic of their Xoom running snesoid, or any other emulator in 16:9 full screen/4:3 fullscreen? Mine was just delivered at my house but I'm stuck at work for another 6 hours...kill me. Thanks!

Yeah SNESoid and Gensoid are the top two I would use anyway (born in late 80s lol). It'll be interesting to see that nullDC (Dreamcast emu port) running on this. I know someone has it semi-running on some older hardware and it should run pretty decent on this.
n64droid is also right around the corner...who needs apps? XD
i havent got an emulator yet and might with the xoom since it seems perfect for this kind of thing. Do you have to buy games once you get the emulator or do the games come with them? my xoom comes in today, its already in the city im just waiting for delivery

You have to find a site that you can download them from, not mentioning any since it might be against the rules here. I mean, there are apps where you can pay for a pack of roms, but it's just a total rip off.
I actually do own all the games (even the old carts) that I download roms for though, so I'm 100% safe either way =P

alright thanks for the info. Im pretty good at searching so im pretty sure i can find them. They dont have to be android specific right?
Nope, not specific. Only specific thing is the emulator per platform. I suggest trying out snesoid lite before buying to make sure everything goes good.
Can you use the wiimote with the xoom?

Hitting the shoulder buttons looks like it would be a *****. Other than that, looks great!
Just buy RomBuddy from the market. Works great, you pay a couple bucks for RomBuddy but then you can download a metric **** ton of free roms for gameboy/nes/snes/genesis and such from it.
