Swype Beta - A7 General

Anyone having trouble receiving the Swype beta link in E-mail?
I used two e-mail addresses and they still have not sent a download link to me.
What gives?
Thanks

I didn't have any email issues last time I installed, but I suggest trying out Thumb Keyboard. It has a split keyboard made for tablets. It's even better than Swype.

Non-latin keyboard for Sprint HTC Touch

Hey guys, I have an HTC Touch with WM 6.1 and need to put Cyrillic keyboard on it. After installing POcket Keys (Link) I can type in Russian and messages look fine on my phone, however all txt and email recipients are getting a bunch of question marks. I suspect that the problem is in the OS and not the keyboard itself, but don't have much knowledge on the subject. Have anyone had experience adding a non-latin keyboard to WinMo 6.1 device and experienced similar issues? Was there a way to resolve them? Thank you!
Update: I can submit search queries via Opera and chat via Palringo using the keyboard just fine. I think the problem is that the message is not in unicode format. Is there a way to force windows mobile to give me an option to send txt message in unicode?

[Q] Good Software for HD2

My question is about Good Messaging software. My wife is using a US T-Mobile HTC HD2 with the latest official update. She works for a bank and they only support syncing of corporate email to the phone through Good Messaging software.
The problem she has is the unlock screen (the Today screen has HTC Sense selected), the moment she wants to unlock the phone, it reverts to the HORRIBLE Good Messaging keyboard with such tiny letters that one would probably mess up even when using a stylus. The problem is made more curious by the fact that the Good Messaging keyboard comes up only while unlocking the phone, the Swype keyboard comes up for all other applications including composing messages within the Good Messaging client.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution? My wife would really appreciate it.
Thanks!

HD2 freezes when entering text + SMS problems

I'm on ROM 1.48.409.1 (71294) NOR (Norwegain)
I'm experiencing two bad issues that really annoy me. IS there a fix (I tried to search but couldn't find these... maybe they are here, in case I apologize).
1) After using my phone for a while (let's say I'm chatting in Palringo or typing SMS), SlideIT will freeze up and I have to reset the device (usually Windows will freeze up at this point, so I will not be able to do anythning but a soft reset using the red button on the back).
I originally thought it was a SlideIT error, but after using the built-in keyboard for a while, it seems to be a general problem, not a SlideIT specific one.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
2) Regarding SMS (I will update to ROM 1.66 tonight, hopefully that will fix it).
I have two problems. ONe being that once in a while, the HD2 will stop sending messages out. They will hang in my outbox for a long time. Clicking them and trying "Resend message" does not work. However, once I reset the device and send another text message (strangely enough, doing a forward doesn't work, either), the once that are in the outbox will also get sent out. This is of course very frustrating.... any fix? Will the 1.66 rom fix this?
I also have a problem sending SMS when the threaded conversation is long. Then I have to click "Menu - Close" before I can activate the input field.
Any help on the above issues are greatly appreciated.
OK, since posting I have resolved my issues.
They boil down to two things: The SMS feature was updated using the new ROM (1.66.xxx) from HTC.
The crashing issues were caused by SlideIT. I don't know if there's an issue with the Norwegian version of the HTC HD2 or if it is a general problem, but I cannot recommend anyone running Norwegian HTC HD2 to use SlideIT at the moment. I have taken it off my system, upgraded my ROM, and have been running perfectly stable for two weeks.

[Q] miui questions!

hey
I have a nexus one running the latest rogdriguez mod for miui. I am having a problem with the messaging app. I cannot use the voice input from the swype keyboard to send a message. When i do the field remains blank. Is there a way to fix this? Is it possible to take the messaging app from the stock froyo and put it in? If so where would i get the stock messaging apk from?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried any other SMS apps from the market e.g. chomp sms or handcent?
I use swype but i can't say i've tried the voice side of things on MIUI.
Did it ever work?
Swype is not compatible on all roms and at the minimum you need to uninstall and reinstall with your invite info they first sent you in an email.
Also, I would try Rod's Forum for help first, if you haven't already.

The other problem that I am having is that when i set up facebook to only sync with my contacts it ends up syncing all my facebook contacts. Is there a solution?
thanks...i am now using handcent

Random characters on sent emails using stock Android email

This sounds bizarre because this is one of many Android devices but the only one I have this problem with... When I send an exchange email via the stock app, whenever I use an apostrophe I get random characters produced in the sent copy of the email. I don't see them when typing it, but when reading the copy after sending on the GT10, EVO, Laptop or my Blackberry I see the characters. It wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't know that anyone who gets my email sees them too. Anyone else have this issue?
And by the way the EVO and my Sammy GT7 don't do this while using the stock android email app on my exchange email.
Yeah I was getting this also, seems to happen when "auto-correction" occurs or when you backspace and replace characters, it seems to inject what almost looks like HTML language for the action performed, I've confirmed this happens when using the "stock" -English (US) Android Keyboard, however when I switched over to using the "samsung keypad" or my FlexT9 keyboard it did not experience the same behavior.
only the stock keyboard in the email app during auto-correction or manual correction appeared to experience this behavior.
I was going to look for another copy of the Android "stock" honeycomb keyboard and see if the problem continued but I haven't had a chance.
For the time being try switching over to one of the other pre-installed keyboards. [such as the Samsung one] and see if you still get strange characters in your sent mail messages.
Just noticed i have this same issue as well. Im using the stock mail app with my exchange acct but im using thumb keyboard and still get the random characters. Very embarrassing sending an email to my boss this am to see random characters included in it. I love thumb keyboard but cant have this happen! Hopefully its an issue in the mail app and Samsung addresses it.
followup
Yeah after looking into this some more I found that it appears to happen on any keyboard with auto correction, I've switch to Swype / T9 and the honeycomb stock keyboard and they all post the same results in emails that are sent.
ex. if you type the work "I'll" however you don't put the " ' " in the word auto correction may insert this character for you.
problem is when it does it places "'" instead of the auto corrected " ' "
so if you miss a ' in I'm you get I'm as a result. it really tears up the outbound emails.
for the time being I've switched to using non-auto corrective keyboards such as the Samsung stock keyboard. and this seems to prevent this condition from reoccurring.
of course this is just a work around to a much larger problem.
anyone else have any insight as to why the auto correction would place "'" in each corrected spot in the email?
