Google maps three point touch - Droid Incredible General

Ok so u was messing with maps and I remembered with I'm ipod three point touch changes the angle of view so I tried it on my phone... wouldn't you know it works
The weird part is.... my kernel doesn't support 3+ multitouch nor was it flashed in cwm 2.5.0.5 so... maybe the patch is useless
Edit. Tried multitouch test and I'm only getting two touches
Before I could get up to 10

It does nothing for me.

Weird maybe its a coincidence
You. Tried dragging right ( I know stupid question)
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App

Yea sorry what I meant was three touches does nothing extra. If you try holding to fingers and dragging changes the angle.

Anyone elses XDA app FCing when replying to other posts?

XDA app doesn't do that for me, but Taptalk does.
Forgive My Brevity. To Be Or Not To Be...
yeah i get the FC for tapatalk
Constant force-closes on the XDA app for me - though lately it's been better. Also, it constantly gets stuck while loading - I have to hit the "back" button and tap again, and it'll work.
I find that I get fewer force-closes if I have WiFi on.
I get it in the XDA app also although i doubt this may be it but I've replied to a few posts and when I reply with softkeyboard it seems to send with no issue. If i use the hardwarekeyboard even if i close it then hit submit i seem to still get the FC. Im not sure if thats something to look into cuz it may be the length of the post also. When i have something short and simple i use the softkeyboard and when its long i use the hardware one so maybe happening on longer posts/replies???
Using tapatalk. No fc's but it gets stuck alot.

Touch pad moving cursor on its own

I have a G2 and occasionally it'd notice that my cursor moves around on its own, such as from one app to another on the home screen, or from link to link with in the web browser.
I have tried cleaning the track pad assuming it was dirty and something was triggering the cursor, but I don't that's it.
Any ideas?

Search is your friend.
Touchpad randomly activates - XDA
Oh and I though I'm the only one who's having that problem. I tried searching but can't find anything. Maybe I'm not using the right phrase? Any suggestions or links to a resolution?
Thanks

[App] xda premium

I am surprised no one has brought it up yet here. Running great on my evo! Loads everything properly, which the free app waant for me. Loads it a little faster too so far! Hopefully they release more themes. Only negative is it doesn't seem to hide the status bar.

tapatalk is good too, is there a difference?
Is search still broken and does it still force-close all the time?

I don't have either of those problems on either app. I havn't had the free version fc a single time.
Thanks, works awesome and much better looking with more features

If you use your phone's search button within the App, you can successfully search? I get immediate FC and many have the same problem.
I'm more curious about the other FCs - that others have seen as well - when doing something random like changing a page or viewing an attached image. Seems like it happens most when the app has been open for a while. Can almost expect it at times. Might have to check this premium version out, didn't even know it WAS out! Thanks.

No problem.
I have never had any force closes doing anything? lucky i guess haha.
I can't help you with the search though, the rom i use has it disabled apparently.. didn't know that!

I fully agree with you with my HTC Vision running stock froyo.
Search is a 100% FC.
To avoid the other type I have always to get out the topic and exiting XDA App, before minimizing/doing something else.
Is this version solving?
I'll probably buy it just to support xda. However every single time I back out of a topic after I have been out if the app for a few mins or the next time I open it, I always get a force close. Every single time I can replicate it. I have to restart the app so it wont force close

I cant tell you... i never got these fcs... i must have a magic phone. I am flashing another rom haha. So i will tell you if search causes fc soon.
Edit: the search button does nothing at all now... lol
It's a good looking app... also Ad-free! Only available for a limited time.. so for a dollar, may as well get it while you can.
Paid XDA is still plagued with same issues as free. Back to tapatalk

multitouch curiosity

I'm curious as to whether the xoom is multi-touch, as in more than two actions at a time or if it's only constrained to the two. I've searched and really haven't uncovered much.
And if so, is it just the operating system that constrains it, or are no apps programmed for it?
It allows up to either 5 or 10 don't remember which. Its hardware-based.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
then why have I not been able to use this feature? Only two simultanious touches has ever worked..
The screen can detect up to 10 points at once, you can download Touch Test from the market to test this. However I expect software would have to built to take advantage of this, I know with Plume though you can scroll three columns at once
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
App works well and picks up all 10 point movement perfectly
Sent from my MZ601 using XDA Premium App
what, if any, apps utilize this? I haven't encountered any..
Fruit Ninja uses it quite well !!
The tablet supports 10 touches simultaneously. The easiest way to test this is with the stock Honeycomb keyboard. Just use all 10 fingers, you can touch 10 different letters at once.
Apps must be written to support all 10 touches, though.

There are ten multitouch points, tried it with an app. It works amazingly.

[Q] Annoying multitouch

Yeah so there's been no development on this issue, so I'm wondering if any of the devs are looking at the atmel drivers for multi touch to see what the problem is... 10 fingers all at once doesn't work on the tablet, but it works fine on any other device I've ever used.
I know pushisticky thought there was an issue with the suppress function in the drivers, so maybe look there?

I truely mean no offense, but, what benefit would having all 10 of my fingers on the screen at the same time have? I really don't know what I would/could use it for.

The real question would be "what benefit would having more than 3 fingers on the screen at the same time have?"
And the answer would be "a lot of things!"
The issue here isn't 10 finger multi touch. It's 3 or more.
BTW the exact thing happens on my nexus 4 in the mutltitest app . but I use GMD gesture controls on my nexus 10 that works perfectly with 4 fingers etc
So is it an android 4.2.1 issue or an app issue maybe

It isn't an app issue, because i enabled "show touches" and "show pointer location" in the developer options (can be enabled by tapping "model number" 5 times) so i think it is an Android 4.2.1 issue... I hope that it will be resolved in Android 4.2.2

I wondered this myself when I first noticed the problem... but the fact that I can't do so kinda bothers me... lol
In any case, as mentioned already, it can be 3 or more fingers that cause problems.
Hmm... I just ran the multi touch vis app to see for myself, and I'm showing response for all 10 fingers?

Keep playing with it.. I can get 10 fingers to work too. Then I can just put three, or four back on and the bug kicks in.. There really is no fool proof method to get the bug to kick in. It's random, and no rhyme or reason to it.. But it does exist on all devices I'm almost certain.

You're right, I should have ran more than just one test before responding. Although I'm not quite sure what functionality it brings being able to use 10 fingers? Not being condescending or anything, I was just wondering what real world use it has?

The main problem is that it even happens with 3+ fingers.
I had the same problem with a couple of apps in the play store, but then found "Yet Anther MultiTouch Test" by Real Fiction Factory and that picks up all ten of my fingers.
Think the problem must be the apps in question are not optimised for either the N10 or 4.2.1?

As stated earlier, the bug is that it'll pick up all the points and then suddenly not do it anymore. I found that when its picking up all 10 then start tapping with all fingers and after about the 5th tap it won't pick up more than 2.

I've found how to get it work: put your fingers one by one on the screen while you keep moving them, then 10 finger multitouch should work. I'll make a video to prove it.
