New firmware RELEASED. 2/4/11 v2.0127 - A7 General

A7 Internet Tablet
Firmware Update
To determine the firmware version currently installed on your tablet, go to Settings > About device and scroll to the bottom to see Build number. The last 5 digits of the Build number indicate your current firmware version.
The February 4, 2011 Firmware Update addresses issues with micro card formatting and capacity and offers improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Firmware Update for your A7 Internet Tablet must be downloaded to your PC or Mac and copied to a MicroSD card for installation.
IMPORTANT: A MicroSD card is required to update the firmware. The USB port is a host only and cannot be used for firmware updates.
Note: Since the files stored in the Tablet may be deleted or overwritten during the update process (including the pre-installed movie trailers), please copy any files which you have stored in the Tablet before updating.
Please follow these directions carefully for a successful update:
A7 Firmware Update Instructions
Download the Firmware Update ZIP file at the bottom of this page to your PC or Mac.
Copy the ZIP file from your PC or Mac to a MicroSD card. The file must be copied to the ROOT DIRECTORY of the MicroSD card. Make sure you do not copy the file into a subfolder.
Insert the MicroSD into the slot at the top of the A7 Tablet.
Plug the A7 Tablet into an electrical outlet using the AC adaptor.
Open Settings > About device > System updates > Update device.
Follow the on-screen prompts. The system will restart automatically in update mode, then will restart when the update is complete.
To confirm that your update has been correctly installed, open Settings > About device. Scroll down to Build version and you should see PBJ8000.2.0127.

Ok, who is going to see what happens when this is applied to their A7 that has Dexter's Mod 1.1 on it? I'm too scared. I've just about got mine working ok. I just need to get the newer version of the Market, Calendar fixed, and Bluetooth PAN tethering via Blackberry working. I didn't expect such a learning curve on this device.

Im about to try it will keep you posted!

Boot Loop
My unit arrived this morning.
I put the Feb 4 OEM update on first then applied dexter's mod and ended up in a boot loop.
I was not sure how to get out of the loop so I tried a couple shut downs to no avail.
So I reset and ran the Feb 4 update again.
I have a lot more icons than to shipped version, but I do not think I have the google apps market place.
I am very new to android so I'm a bit in the dark.
Is there a way to get out of the boot loop?
Thanks

Ekk! Boot Loop!

Did you guys wipe Data/Cach?
I'm updating through recovery mode. I'll update everyone shortly...
FANCY "eLocity" boot screen! No loop here.
Sweet! Shows My 8gb card at 7.38 Empty space!
For the people in the boot loop try powering down your device and powering it back on.
The A7 No longer force closes when you select the Brightness tab!

Just did that it worked great! I can see my sd card woot! No market

I did the data wipe and every seems to work.
Thanks for reading.

Don't forget to wipe Data/Cach. Thats almost always the issue!

Does it have Market or any or the Dexter mods
Does it have Market?

No, The fireware downloaded from the Elocitynow.com website does NOT come with Market.

New firmware
Will Dexter be modding this one for us?

I would hope so!
I would love if Elocity or Dexter would tackle the App2SD problem

no Market
Sorry. Just niticed no market in an earlier reply. Let's hope Dexter can mod this to re-add market, etc. Thks

Mine is working fine after update.
Update is same size as the last file?
R

Seems to boot much quicker. Also works with manually installing .apk apps

Notice any improvement in wifi?

I can't really say I notice anything but it was running good out of the box for me.
I think boot up may be slightly improved.
I do notice more verbose initial boot up screen which reminds me of linux a while back!
So far no data or applications were lost but version number has changed.
A smooth upgrade
Although the file size was identicle to the previous release the version is different yet the same.

[Q] need help on the elocity a7

Everyone mod is working i geuss except for mines i don't know what am doing wrong.
i tried to mod mine with the dexter mod 1.41 and mines wont work,
1st- i download the file didn't unzip it then i sent it to the SD card and rename it "update.zip".
2nd- i did the factory wipe/reset then i select to wipe all data
3rd- i select update.zip but i notice an message saying( E. can't read from SD card, or something like that). i dont know if that is apart of the mod or what.
4th- when it is finish then i select reboot option and when it is done rebooting i get nothing new. can you help me out are do you know something that i might be doing wrong. i also did do the 1.42 patch aswell didn't work. are is there any other newer way to do it are what. Even if you can write step by step on how to do it properly.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
Did your a7 have a sdcard problem before the attempt ?
And even tho it sed it can't read sdcard, did it proceed to install anyway ?
yes it did go ahead with the installation, but it is during the installation process where i saw something about can't read error, i jus got it yesterday then i did the new update from elocity website. then i tried al,ost all of dexter's mod
these are the exat message i got was (E:can't open/usb/update.zip)
(E:Can't mount USB:update.zip)
then underneath that it say (Finding update package)
then it say (Wait for 5 second)
(Installation time out)
(installation aborted)
(Formatting MISC)
these are all the thing it say during installation
Does your a7 read, mount and unmount the sdcard stock?
What is the path to the update.zip?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to get on the same page
Sent from my Mynized EVo 4G
I'm having just about the same problem. Will be interested to hear any helpful suggestions. At this point, the only thing that is working is to do the factory reset and use the basic version again. I keep getting a message that "update.zip" (although I named it "Update.zip") is a bad file. I also did not get "apply sdcard:update.zip" as a menu option, only "apply:update.zip", which when clicked did read the sd card, then gave the bad file message.
update
Lemme clarify first then update. I bought the A7 in February and loaded the most current Dexter mod at that time. It's been running beautifully until this week. Over a period of days, the A7 started acting up until it was no longer usable at all. First, the BlueTooth cut out, then the WiFi, then it just got stuck and was repeatedly lighting up the Elocity logo, but never fully booting up.
Elocity support said to do the Factory reset, which I did and it was back to baseline again. Trying to install the latest version of Dexter is where my problem started. (end of history)
So, now the update for this evening: I tried every version of Dexter's mods and got the "bad" file message each time, even after downloading them again to be sure I wasn't using a corrupted copy. However, my A7 will wipe, then update with Elocity Firmware 2.0134 and read it just fine on the exact same SD card when renamed "Update.zip".
So, now I have a very frustrated boy with autism who can't do his Google Voice search anymore and the Android Marketplace doesn't let me download the apps I already bought for him. We're back to where we were when it arrived out of the box in February, but unable to restore what we had.
I have to think there's a conflict between Dexter's Mods and the new firmware, even after one wipes everything. I even tweeted Dexter (and I don't *do* Twitter!) to see if he could respond for help and am waiting for a response.
Can someone please help? Thanks!!
Sounds like your having issues with the files you download, I have gotten in the habit of not renaming the update file to just that until its on the usb card. Seen to many messages like yours if I saved one update over a prior with the same name. Try download 1.41 and 1.42 leave their names the way they are and save them to folder on your computer. Copy them bother to sd-card leaving names the same still. once both are there rename 1.41 to Update. Remove card from pc put in tablet. Use the recovery system method (press then hold power button method) do wipe, clear cache, the use update option. If this is successful which it should be delete the 1.41 file on card that you renamed to Update, this can be done on tablet or computer. Once that file is gone rename the 1.42 to Update and once again flash from recovery system.
Hope that solves your issue
Make it a habit to not save an update over top of another, though it seems like it would keep you from having to rename but for me it always seemed to corrupt the file.
thanks! I'll give that a try. I notice you said "PC", but I have a Mac ... could that be part of the issue ... downloading to Mac, then moving the file to SD or USB? (could be a stupid question, but if I don't ask, that makes me even more ignorant)

Do you end up with a folder or a zip file? Safari has a bad habit of extracting zips when it downloads them. Search my posts, there is a long ranting one that covers issues with both PC and Mac.
they're zipped ... I use Firefox 4.0, when the option comes up at download, I always click "save", not "open". Thanks, though.
well, problem solved. I ran Bestial's gapps patch over top of the new eLocity firmware and i have full functionality again. very happy mom here! now to reload all those apps for my boy! =D
Wow, I'm glad you found a solution...I have been following the thread and was getting worried.
I had the same problem after downloading the newest elocity update and then trying dexter's mod. I found out my problem is that I renamed the file "update.zip". If you just rename the file to" update" then it loaded fine. Not totally sure why this worked and maybe it was just my case, but maybe it will help some of you out!

No. Your problem was that you were using a windows machine and your file extensions were hidden (I am psychic, but don't worry, I won't tell anyone your pin number). She is using a Mac, no hidden file extensions.
How do you get to the gapps patch? I'm really having trouble getting any updates on my a7. seems like its not taking anything off the sdcard. i brought a new card and I'm still having the same issue.

bestialbub's patch for google apps (to use the market) can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1019846 with the instructions
It's still working very well for us ... several weeks later.
Good luck!

[Q] Boot Loop, help?

IN MY INFINITE WISDOM, I replaced my build.prop with the one from a Motorola Xoom in an attempt to get Sketchbook Pro to show up in the market. Now my tablet is boot looping.
I backed the original up in the same directory, as build.prop.OLD. If I could mount system and replace the file with a PC, I'd imagine that the tablet would work again. How could I do that?
However, THERE IS ANOTHER COMPLICATION! I used the 'Acer Phone Disabler' app to remove the telephony drivers, which means that I cannot flash a rom or the tablet will brick. I'm not sure what this means for Nandroid backups.
The tablet has the leaked stock 3.1 rom installed, it's rooted, and it has Clockworkmod recovery.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Oh god.
I used ADB to pull my build.prop.OLD, renamed it to build.prop, and pushed it back. Now... the tablet boots up, and it shows the Android "Welcome" screen. Clicking the only button available doesn't work. It just highlights as if it is selected, and doesn't do anything when I lift my finger up.
I DO have a Nandroid backup from several weeks ago of the same rom, but from BEFORE I removed the telephony drivers. I am only going to try restoring it as a last resort; does anyone have any ideas? Remember, flashing a rom would result in a brick because I used Acer Phone Disabler. Is a nandroid backup safe?
Thanks guys. I'm really hoping this tablet isn't too screwed.
I'm hoping someone else chimes in here but I am under the impressing that the nandroid backup would override any changes you could make as long as you don't break recovery. As far as my experience goes if you had a backup of your current configuration you could do an "advanced restore" and only restore your "system"

Restoring just system worked! My homescreen is back to stock but all my apps are still installed, so I don't really care. Thanks a bunch, I was so worried.
COOL!!!
Glad I could help.

Help needed for a boot loop
Well as said in the video, i reuse an existing thread about bootloop...
I'm stuck in a bootloop with an iconia A500... but let's look at the steps that got me there...
The First mistake was to answer yes to my friend who asked me to connect his Vodafone k3565 to his iconia A500, but as i read Android was linux based and i did use linux a lot as a student, i didn't even imagine it could go wrong...
Tablet was stating to run :
Android 3.1
Bernel 2.6.36.3-00009-9dddf6f2
Build 4.015.05-EMEA-CUS3
i did root with iconia root 1.3
then added Busybox and a terminal program.
reboot, try a SU and could access the devices
Here is the second mistake... i should have wondered how to restore to normal state before starting, because i don't have any SD card that suit the device ( mine are normal sized ones, you know.. Stamp sized :/ )
Then i got to the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058846&page=7
and i used an usb key to transfer it to the device, but before applying the files i took a look to them and found 3 of them would overwrite actual system files, so i did a backup of them :
/system/build.prop
/system/etc/apns-conf
/system/bin/rild
and looking at the build.prop i saw differences in the values of the one on the A500 and the one in the package so i decided to get only the missing lines from the new system.zip file and add them to the original file
And here is the 3rd mistake, and i guess the reason of the problem : i did that merge on a windows computer, and i fear it did add those pesky CRLF at the end of lines, turning my build.prop into a build.prob(lem).
I'm not sure, as i didn't check before it was too late.
rebooted and... boot loop, with 1 times out of 2, the little android with yellow triangle and exclamaition mark.
Cried, runned in circles, then looked on forums to find a solution.
Reboot with Power+Volume gives :
"Erasing cache before SD update...
SD update cmd:recovery
--update_package=sdcard:update.zip
Booting recovery kernel image"
Then i get the android with gears for a few seconds, then below him is a bar like the one in the android store when you download a file, then half a second later, again the exclaimation mark.
I also tried plugging a keyboard to hit the home key...
( in fact two : Logitech G110 and trust easy scroll silverline )
no difference, maybe because those are gaming keyboards and they arent loaded soon enough by the tab, or maybe it crashes before keyboard loading.
Tried then to install ADB using post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1155664
hoping i could use the USB cable to put the backup files back in place but when i plug the device into the windows host, it recognises an unavailable USB MTP device, whose properties say "Acer iconia tab a500" in the "signaled bus description"(translated from french display, may be something else in english)
I manually force added the Acer ADB interface, but both the devices are unavailable to windows, with a warning sign, stating "this device cannot start (code 10)"
"Adb shell" answers "Error:device not found",which is expected, as windows can't see the devices properly
the strange thing is that, with USB plugged from A500 to PC, the Android with exclaimation stays forever, while without the cable, the system boot-loops
so i'm at this point :
i have a boot looping device, and the backup of the modified files on an USB key, and no way to put them back on device.
I found on the forums a lot of different .imgs that could be put on the /system to reload the device but none with EMEA-CUS3. So if i overwrite the files, i can't go back
I read you need a SD card to patch the device but not all of them work...
And my only computer with a SD slot uses a big one, not micro one, so i also need an adapter to write on the sd card.
Is someone near me (belgium/postcode 4000) having a SD ward working with the device who could lend it or help me doing the job ?
else
i saw in a nearby store ad "Sigma SDHC 4Go" or "Sigma SDHC 8Go", with apparently an adaptor for a normal sized SD slot, can anyone confirm it works or it don't work for sure ?
else
Can anyone tell me an SD card know to work, and being sold currently with an adapter so i have a chance to find one in a store near me ?
Is there a way to create an update.zip that will only update the files i did overwrite ?
if not, has someone an image for the same system i have ?
Well... lots of questions, but i'm very worried, especially as the device is not mine and not working anymore atm.
-> update
Looking closer at the modem (Vodafone k3565) it has a trap that says "SD card" so i guess i won't need an adapter... still need the reference of a SD card known to work for the restoring.
[bump] and more :
this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834144
lists working SD cards, but don't tell with which device. i'd take the guess it applies to the iconia A500 and take the list to the shop to see if anyone is available...
Did you install the Acer USB driver, found here? http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/drivers
You might need to go into device manager after installing and right click/update drivers on the tablet, then manually direct it to the Acer driver folder. That's what I did, then ADB worked.

The reason "some" SD cards don't work is down purely to formatting. Normally, reformatting them in an Android phone sorts it out. Not always, but normally. Don't worry about the GEN3 stuff too much, it's just regional variations anyway... More important to get the tab working again, no?
Yes i did ( on 2 different computers, just to be sure )...
and still the device is not recognised as "adb device".
Windows shows a "USB MTP Device"
Tried to manually add the "ACER Composite ADB Interface" and "ACER Fastboot Interface" to the installed peripherals, it shows with yellow exclaimation mark, never shows up running.
Without any useable answer about one week later, i did buy a Traxdata 2Gb SD card with adapter ( the cheapest i found with an adapter from micro SD to normal SD ) and flashed with the Emea_Gen3 ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878.
Now the tablet works, but is telling me 4.010.42-COM-GEN1 instead of the previous 4.015.05-Emea-Cus3.
Seems to work correctly, so i go on with the modem connexion.

[Q] Guidance Appreciated

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen;
So I'm trying to run an android rom from an SD card, and I've tried a couple images-one froyo, one this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045018
I'm basically looking for reliability/speed, the ability to run FPSe and the ability to run word apps. It needs to run bluetooth and I'd like it to run most apps. Any suggestions? I would have gone for the CM7 nightly roms, but honestly I'm looking for something low maintenance and easy to setup. (The instructions/downloads on that thread were confusing.)
Thank you for any assistance.
Apoc
I recently went through rooting my NC from an SDcard. First with the nightlys and last with the 7.0.3 CM7 stable build.
I'd say, if you want low maintenance and quick setup, go with the CM7 7.0.3 Stable release.
Here are the steps I took to install CM7/GApps and run from the SDcard - I'll try to make this as seamless and possible: Sorry about the absence of links, I haven't reached the post limit to enable hyperlinking in my replies. Maybe some kind forum poster can post my links in a reply...
1. Download and Unzip this program to a directory (doesn't need installed)
Win32DiskImager V0.1:
2. Download your SDcard Image, CM7 Build, and GApps zip:
- "Size Agnostic" Generic SD-Image:
- Latest STABLE CM7 Release (not the nightly)
- GApps zip for latest build (CM7)
3. Buy a greater than 2gB MicroSD card (I have an 8GB PNY microSD)
4. Connect MicroSD card to computer
5. Extract Generic-sdcard-v1.3.img.zip to local folder
6. Burn generic-sdcard.img to SD card using the following steps
- Open win32diskimager
- Select generic-sdcard.img for image file
- Select microSD card drive letter for Device (should be auto selected)
- Click "Write" to write image to the microSD card
- After image is applied to microSD, close win32 disk imager
7. Remove microSD card and re-connect to computer
8. Copy CM7 and GApps .zip files to microSD drive
- This will be the main microSD drive, like I:\
- Do not extract the .zips, just copy the whole files
9. Remove microSD card and insert into TURNED OFF Nook Color
10. Hold power button on Nook Color until the screen flashes, then let go
11. Read the screen, it will bring up a terminal with installation progress... it will inflate the CM7 files to the SDcard, then shut off.
12. After shutdown, keep the SD in the nook, turn the nook back on.
13. You'll see an android pop up and finally get to some prompts
- Hit next, skip the part with linking your google account (for now)
- Enable Wireless and Connect to your Router
- Follow the rest of the prompts
- Eventually hit the home screen
14. Your CM7 install is done! If you turn off the NC, remove the SD card, and turn back on the NC... you'll be greeted with the stock V1.3 nook color
15. If you check the apps and don't see Google Apps (GApps) or the market follow these steps:
- While in CM7, hold the power button until a prompt comes up
- Click REBOOT
- Click RECOVERY
- Click OK
- Your NC will now restart and show that console setup again (like before when you installed CM7)... it will install the GApps and market... and shut down.
- Turn back on your NC, check your apps, see the Market, Click it, link your Google Account.
That should be it. Sorry for the long-winded install, thats about as basic as I can put it.
Cheers!
Swe
Thank you for the assistance. Your instructions proved a bit more enlightening. I used the latest stable version and have it working fine. (I even played FF7 for awhile.) My only current problem is bluetooth. It fails to enable when I tell it to.

I would go with the latest nightlies. They are *way* past the stable with a lot of very positive improvements. I've been running nightlies (starting with 128) for around 2 months now with zero issues. You don't have to keep updating them - they are very, very stable already.

Sometimes the first time you run bluetooth, you have to turn off WiFi, reboot, turn on bluetooth, and then turn on WiFi. I only had to do it once and both toggled properly forever after.
I'll second the recommendation of grabbing a nightly build--they're no higher maintenance or less stable than 7.0.3, and they greatly simplify things like overclocking, improving audio gain, and USB host via compatibility with the Nook Tweaks app. They also enable deep sleep which means less charging, boot considerably faster, and have built-in multiboot, to name a few things.

[Q] Cant move apps to SD card

I just purchased an Elocity A7 and updated the firmware to 2.0134 and applied Dexter's Elocity 1.42 mod.
Everything seems to be working great, I can get to the marketplace etc. but for some reason none of the apps will go to the SD card that I have installed.
I can see the card mounted but when I go the the App to SD app the column to move to SD card (that I used in prior versions) is not on the screen.
Is this normal?, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Demi
Your procedure isn't correct, first you have to load dexter 1.41Rom then add the patch 1.42, you cannot put 1.42 ontop of the factory firmware...
Elocity did not include the option, so you cannot move apps with stock firmware...
you need the CyanogenMod released, then you get the option to do it.
Thank both of you for the prompt replies.
Should I reinstall the elocity software again, over the Dexter mod?
What does CyanogenMod mean, and how do I install? it.
Sorry, I'm not very technical.\

I played around with a version of the CyanogenMod7 for tegra2, and now its in a acceptable state, so you can test it too.
I have used the latest Atrix4G 2.3.4 + vega / optimus 2X to put this version together, and its based on the original elocityA7 kernel and includes modules for cifs,nfs,ext3 and ext4 support.
So although its a Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 base, kernel is still just 2.6.32.9 based, so cpu, memory and kernel related optimizations are not here.
CyanogenMod7 offers a lot of customizable features, full multilanguage and latest enhancements found for our android comparing to original stock a7 rom, you get alot more features.
Fixes in Version3 (Cyanogen7RC1ModA7-3)
- Youtube HD video fixed
- VolumeUP/VolumeDown assigned to sound&search buttons
- DSP Manager is now working, it is really to loud for internal speaker if you go full power.
- GoogleTalk app update + crash fix. (still no video working)
- USB_OTG app updated, so changes take effect immediately when you swith HOST/DEVICE mode (used to connect tablet to pc with usb-a2usb-a cable)
- Real 1080p video out with HDMI (not sure how it affect playback, it seeems just upscaled)
What is found not working right now:
- Camera photo & video recording (photo stopped when avi got enabled)
- rotation sensor is 90 wrong (in gameloft games)
- bluetooth
What is working
- Netflix runs out of the box on this one, as i made build.prop changes so it thinks its a Xoom.
- wifi networking
- sdcard , usb host/device and USB stick support.
- all features of CM7
- mkv/avi/wma/wmv hardware acc. video playback (almost seems like more avi is supported than before?)
Download http://dext3r.komodin.org/Elocity-A7/Cyanogen7RC1ModA7-3.zip
to install after just as full update, but is a kernel only update. (extract Update.zip from this zipfile to root of sdcard)
Download http://dext3r.komodin.org/Elocity-A7/Cyanogen7RC1ModA7OCKernel.zip
Thanks,
I get an error message when I try to do this update. I am on Dexters Mod
Demi
The error message is cant find entry for META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary

unzip the downloaded zip, and there is a zip inside named update.zip that needs to be extract and out on the root of your sd card
Thank You for the reply. It worked perfectly and now everything is up to date and working. I don't know how to press the thank you meter so here goes a double thank you...
How does the original question apply to the A7+?
I can't access card and I'm having memory issues... new thread has specifics

[Q] update gone wrong -help - friends phone!!

Hi All, I have searched but not found an explaination thats clear to me.... here goes.
Ideos X5, mine, updated with GB from Huewai site - beta version, works great!!! beter battery, faster wireless etc... update when flawlessly using instructions included in the update file.
Tried to update my friends ideos x5 exactly the same but a white one, and first stage loading the update went fine but then when it restarted it to load 2nd update file, - the 1k one, it just goes to pink screen. Obviously not seeing the sdcard...
Its not bricked because it seems to work fine... just appears to be missing some apps like the wireless/bluettoth/gps switcher that appears on mine when i pul down the notification screen, also maps says it has an error , and he does not have the 'beyond the sky' theme.... and only default keyboard laylout that pretty much sucks.
Now - the question is - can i remove the sd card from my phone, put it in pink screen mode and copy the image folder to my pc then copy it out to his phone? will that work?
I can't seem to flash it agian as it appears to not see the sdcard in flash mode hence why it goes to pink screen mode.
What phone model do you have? Which version of rom (from which thread) did you download?
Probably you need to do a downgrade. You have a thread for that.
It was the update from the manufacturers web site as I stated above - the beta vresion of gingerbread, Ideos X5 U8800 is the model of phone, not the pro version.
As I sid it appears to be running GB and the 'about phone' screen confirms this, just the apps are not all there and the boot up is different, looks like its loading frodo intially with the IDEOS logo then an android title appears, then it loads up to the gb lock screen.
Use the update from this thread (B518): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369296
It has only one step (2 steps are joined into one) and work fine
Edit: You can try using internal SD if it doesnt detect external... btw: Do you have fast bot turned off?
thanks fo ryur reply, but it did not help, this is the same version we used to get where we are at now.... it is two step upgrade, the last update file is 1k and has all the settings and apps config... or so it seems.
We have managed to get the update to complete, but there is one strange side effect, the internal sd only has 6 or 7 folders whereas my phone I upgraded 2 weeks ago has lots... I wonder if its write protected it or something.
to get round the "unable to see external sd" after running first update file - hence unable to load second file - by connecting to computer and replacing the imgage folder on the internal sd card with the ones from my phone. On restarting it imediately found external sd and the dload folder and completed its update.
Can some one explain why this worked? I don't understand why it did, but would like to.
