Cyanogen Mod 6 and 7 for Blade! - Blade General

Tom G has got working builds of this now. Lots of stuff needs fixing HOWEVER calls are working now This is massive news so thought i would let the small amount of users on here that aren't on Modaco know.
The links are over at modaco but if you want a stable device i recommend waiting
This also means porting things like MIUI should now be possible. And maybe even an AOSP build of Gingerbread
EDIT:
Forgot to post this in general sorry thought it was.

AWESOME news!
That means MIUI and Gingerbread are just a matter of time, right?
What is the best place to follow news about this?
I can't wait to have a MIUI rom for my Blade, it would make it even more awesome !
Thanks for the news

Modaco is currently the most active forum for Blade/San Francisco discussion. Tom G hangs out there mostly. He says he will be actively maintaining and fixing Cyanogen Mod for the blade

great. I am running Pauls r7 2.2 now, it runs great.
No issues except the wifi not auto connecting after sleep.
I run Go Launcher Ex and Go SMS, it's just like an iphone, only nicer .
Android rocks!
With Tom G's progress, the Blade is just another great phone for great software

Great

Wicked, sounds cool!

Cm 6.1 for Blade is on beta2 now, progress is being made .
Is it possible to base MIUI port on JJ9?
I wonder what part of CM MIUI relies on?

Decent 2.2 for our ZTE (LCD version)?

Hello,
Can someone post a decent 2.2 or 2.3 ROM for the ZTE Blade (LCD version)?
There are only 2.2 custom roms which are still in alpha.
You can find them in Modaco forums
"Its slow, but it boots and so far is fairly stable.

Audio
Bluetooth
Lights

That's for the Pulse. Wrong phone...
First, that is the pulse rom, not the blade.
Second, those gingerbread roms are not suitable for end-users. They haven't had much development and have many problems. The pulse one does have basic functions working and is usable, but the blade one doesn't even have basic functions (no RIL, no sd card, wifi is broken in the latest verison). Please do not encourage people to use them.
I've got Paul's Alpha 4 Froyo ROM working on my OLED and the girlfriends LCD. Everything works as expected, apart from the FM Radio.
http://android.modaco.com/content/z...ad-online-kitchen-heavily-fixed-chinese-leak/
It's not available to the general public, but if you go 'AD-Free' on Modaco you get access to the online Kitchen, and can generate your own version with common features added/subtracted.
Or there is a prebake of alpha 3 available. If you flash one of my themes over it, it fixes coarse location which is the main fix of alpha 4. I even uploaded stock theme with location working for alpha 3 and 4.
Eph.
great roms can be found on modaco. i think we shojld invite their members over!

Yep, we're invading. I've been a member here for a while, but not posted much.
None of the current unofficial 2.2 roms are what I'd consider stable enough for serious / functional day to day use.
One of the main issues is that the lockscreen randomly freezes for many people in all current Froyo roms, even if you switch to a pattern unlock. Some users have reported that installing the app "Widget Locker" from the market is a possible work-around solution.
Fortunately there's some light at the end of the tunnel. Softbank are officially launching an Android 2.2 version of the Blade today! Their version is called the Libero Softbank 003Z.
Hopefully that will prove a much more stable / compatible version of Froyo than the present leaks, which people can then base more usable roms on.
Modaco's alpha 4 is more than stable i would say. I get the lockscreen freeze very rarely. Maybe once a couple of weeks. The other day twice in a day, but never during a call or anything. Just can't wake from sleep.
look over on modaco, a Android 2.2 build has been extracted from the chinese lcd version of the zte blade. hopefully we can get a sucessful port soon.

I disagree.
This 2.2 is stable and fast.
Much better than the stock 2.1-1 B05 that my wife has on her stock Blade. Daily use, I'm happy with it. Might grab R5 when the link works, but it doesn't really matter. I've not found this one lacking.
And yes, I too am glad that the best smartphone site on the net has caught up with my purchasing =)

I used to wonder the same myself. To me it just looked like Android with an iPhone interface.
However I tried it and found things like...
toggles in the notification screen (configurable)
battery stats that go into a LOT of detail (configurable)
full skinning that allows you to mix and match theme elements on the fly (configurable)
built in call/sms firewall (configurable)
built in application security w/password (configurable)
They're just off the top of my head. There's so much more that it does above and beyond regular Android. Other than the configurable toggles in the notification screen (swipe left/right from notifications to get to a full screen of toggles) I've not seen anything that you can't do with apps, but it's all there and all works together.
Also, in my opinion it has the best browser available for Android.
There's more, but I guess you're getting that it's very configurable

its been there since coupla weeks if am not wrong. and yeah they have weekly releases.
as far the MIUI port and builds out for SGS2 , I have tried a few and the general thing is battery life is not as good as sammy ROMs, battery stats are totally wrong (its a known issue). FM and Bluetooth work now.

The official rom is being released as we speak on the Chinese miui website... But that's in Chinese so we will all have to wait a day or 2 until miuiandroid translate it into english... But yes this is official support, and hopefully fixes alot compared to the .21 release...

The webiste is showing the S2 development rom for download. Only problem is, it doesnt give any info on installing this rom!
Does it have to be flashed via Odin?
ZIP placed on SD and Installed via CWM?
Do we Wipe any of the cache's?
Is data stored or everything deleted?
Anybody got the answer to these questions?

[FAQ][DISCUSSION] CyanogenMod 9 nightlies i9000 galaxy s

Cyanogenmod 9 has progressed in to nightlies for the galaxy s i9000
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=nightly&device=galaxysmtd
Change log 2012-2-4 http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=galaxysmtd
Please use this thread to discus the rom
It is amazing, honestly just as perfect as any other ICS custom ROMs, just that with the usual CyanogenMod quality. I only have to change its default kernel to have CIFS,
but apart from that everything is just great.
Homescreen is greatly customizable, notification widget is back (great miss from ICS AOSP), also I can finally toggle "mobile data" from notification.
Big pro guys, really.
Wow, this is great. Is this also available for the i9001? (i'm not familiar with the device IDs)
AWESOME!!
I agree with Nutzo, this is fantastic. Smooth, fast and customizable. I have been playing with it for the last 2 days and (touch wood) so far so good.
Thanks to Cyanogenmod for keeping the Galaxy S i9000 alive!!
Wow! The 30 March nightly has transformed my GPS. Now have instantaneous fix (even indoors) plus rock solid lock/accuracy. Great work

It's best practice.just don't flash it with to low battery.
That's the best ICS release out there. Anyone know which kernel is suitable for over clocking ?
Well i am using stratosk's semaphore kernel - but for
completely different reasons - but i guess any ics compatible
kernel would do the trick, like glitch or devil's one.

So far I haven't found the need to OC at the mo the ROM is pretty fast - but it depends on what you do with your phone [I don't play games].

AND as a plus you get 25 GB of free storage from dropbox.. WHEN they get the camera working.. im going to keep this as my permanent rom
great rom but i have one problem
When I open Facebook app after few sec's wifi disconnects. It's like ON but not scanning and there are no available networks. I must restart to be in normal. Anyone else have this problem.
Full wipe, re-instaled FB, ...

I was gonna say version 3.4 is up but I see previous post states the same. Kinda redundant.

Hi All,
new member and new to flashing. Proud to say my first flash ever was recently on the Inspire with the Primo-S 3.4. It works great and I love it! I've read just about all the post on the forum and still wondering when the camera will get the fix you all have been waiting for. Most recent post on here was way back in April. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area or missed this update somewhere along the way so please, any update or redirect would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Another "which rom" thread. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE

Hello XDA,
First! Sorry, just had to get that out of the way.
I just purchased a used MyTouch 4G and I'm browsing through some roms. I know people here generally hate the "Omg wut rom iz de best!!?" threads, so I am going to be a bit more specific.
I've tried several several of the roms here and I cant say that I've really found what I'm looking for. A lot of the roms are basically alpha, slow, eat battery, or are generally incomplete. So I ask: What is the most developed, stable, complete, and polished MyTouch 4G jelly rom?
What do you use?
Thanks
If you get a jelly bean rom that was updated within the last month, you'll be fine, i could make that shameless pitch for SuperGalaxy
Essentially, all the roms released have their own bugs, if you want something that's complete, use AOSPX
I try most of the JB roms (if not all) and there is not a single one without a bug. The common bug for ICS and JB is the screen flicking. All of them have kernel problems. CM104.2.1 like to freeze( in addition to screen flicking). The others have camera problems or wi-fi (hot spot, tethering). Some report too much battery use. You just have to try and see with one have the least bugs. Some MyTouch 4g did not had the screen problem. It is a puzzle. Just go for it and try.
good luck finding a fully stable and fully working ICS+ ROM for the MyTouch 4G...i suggest you go to Gingerbread, most stable there. if you like Sense, i'd suggest Android Revolution HD .
but if you absolutely insist on ICS+, then i suggest MyTouchUX, the original and first ROM based on the Galaxy S III until them PermaBricks decided to copy us hahahhahaha

Well I have to up my post count so I will contribute that ViperTouch has been good on battery and stable for me the past 2 or 3 weeks and I usually stick to CM 7.2 kang ... not a sense guy but impressed. Gotta up my post count, too so here it goes... Coderz's v133 1st, then Cnote's v12 with the updated 61 or 62 kernal 2nd. Cnote's v13 seems a bit laggy to me. Awesome, saranhai & 0.0 have done great work too, but I haven't seen any new roms from them in a while. They might have moved on. Those are the most stable I've tried, but I apparently have the good screen.
