[Q] WVGA to VGA fix for Omnia B7610 I8000 - Omnia II General

Hello,
I used Tomtom 6 VGA on a WVGA Xperia, but had a WVGA>VGA fix program to reduce the display area.
Tomtom worked very well.
Now passed on to the OmniaPro B7610 and Omnia 2 I8000 and the WVGA>VGA fix software does not work anymore, the Omnia goes back to WVGA after I asked to be reduced to VGA.
Does anyone knows of a WVGA>VGA fix software for Omina mobiles , plz ?
Thank you

you better find another build of the tomtom cab, the version 7 exists for WVGA devices so you don't have to switch your display settings, and you can use all space on your screen

Thank you. I understand there are other versions.
But I already own this Tomtom and did not want to buy another one.
In case the WVGA > VGA tweak program exist I could make use of it.

HTC Action screen and Diamond Keypad

I wish to add these to a ROM, however I'm unable to find a VGA compatible action screen, although I know that it is cooked into the AP ROMS.
Does anyone have the .cab?
Also I wish to install the touch diamond keypad. I love it, however I wish to use it with Opera Mobie 9.5 and I found that when installing the QVGA version onto my kaiser both of the downloadable keypads I tested did not display any letters or numbers from within Opera - for example in the google searchbar -the only one that did was cooked into the Dutty Diamond V1 ROM.
I am awaiting a Toshiba Portege g900 that I got dirt cheap and this keypad would make the world of difference to me. I have found one re-scaled vga keypad - can anyone confirm that this works well with Opera Mobile 9.5?
Kind regards in advance.

Omnia interface on Diamond

Has anyone tried to install the omnia interface on their Diamond? And did it work?

Omnia interface...
I know this isn't the real thing, but it looks pretty good. If you've got spb Mobile Shell v2.0, you can install this Omnia interface skin for it.
Scroll down the programs to find the entry
The site linked above also has loads of other great free apps.
spb shell theme for omnia : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/09/18/omnia-spb-mobile-shell-212-theme.html
Omnia on VGA devices : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/11/17/install-samsung-omnia-user-interface-on-your-vga-device.html
Intrestingly enough I found both these application here on xda dev

i have the same problem !
Im also having this problem. Has anyone found a way to change it to VGA mode somehow?
Same problem here.
In my case, the diamond dosn't show all the picture. If VGA has a higher resolution than QVGA, it should apear a picture smaller than the screen... no?¿
Any trick to sove this?¿

Well this doesn't help a singe bit for me ...
After installing the cab and the 3 files and activating Samsung Today2
(Samsung Today1 will not work and you have to do a hardreset) I can
see a couple of Samsung ?widgets? - there is no Samsung Widgets to
select for me as stated somewhere.
Anyway the dialer is still not shown on the screen completely.
mst
I have the same problem...no "samsung widgets" in elements of today screen

W-VGA Problems ? Maybe no more ;-)

Since I owned a Toshiba G900 a while ago (which also features a W-VGA Screen) I remembered a tool which switches the W-VGA to normal VGA. A portion of the screen goes blank then and all programms think is it only a VGA screen they are facing.
Since my ordered X1 hasn´t shipped till yet maybe one of you guys would like to test it ?
Greeets !
UPDATE 2008-10-27: See post #5 ! WVGA FIX2 uploaded !
Nop dosnt supoort. i get a massage tha it only support Toshiba G900.
Thats bad. Did you install the certificate first and the WVga Fix second ? Otherwise it will not work on the G900 too.
tried but no success,cert installed.
Hope someone clever figure it out, really need this one..
Solved Part 2 ;-)
Hey !
Just found a newer version of WVGA Fix. This Version should work with :
Windows Mobile versions incl. 6.1
All WVga Devices, not only with the Toshiba G900
Can someone try and confirm that ?
Hopefully my black X1 will arrive this week....
Cheers !
What is the point of having a WVGA ppc then? Please be patient with Xperia and Touch HD a lot of applications are soon going to have new versions that will support WVGA or just new skins for this resolution.
Version 2 works, but the screen calibration is far from perfect.
Thanks!!
Correction of my previous post, screen calibration is poor in the interface itself but in the apps it is correct..
Broken sword by astraware does not run without this little app but now it runs perfect.
Thanks again..

Tiny Keypad in TomTom7??

Guys is there a way to fix the really TINY kepyad in TT7? i tried TT6 and have the same problem??
i had the same issue with xperia
I have exactly the same problem - not much help I know but at least you know it's not just you
You need the VGA version of Tomtom.
i have the vga version cab it doesnt work, only the qvga version works
There are several variants of the V7 cab, some of which are for VGA devices and will install on the HD. Check the other threads regarding Tomtom for the correct CAB.
Is the 7.910.985 vga cab the correct one to use on the HD?
Yes it is.
I went through that problem. Version 7.450.9028 doesn't matter if it's qvga or vga has got a tiny keyboard. You have to use 7.910.9185 VGA and keyboard is perfect in that version.
BUT!!! That version is a lot slower that 7.450.9028
So, there is no perfect sollution Good looking or good working
a lot slower in what sense? In the FPS? In the response time? In the lag?
Looks like FPS but it also causes lag

[APP] PLAzmA Rhodium (black) VGA Today Mod (BETA 1)

I recently hard reset my phone, as im still running the stock rom, it drives me up the wall having put back my theme mods.
So ive made a cab which will install:
flat black start/program bar today theme tsk (no more beveled bar)
large start menu background (if you have touchflow large start menu on)
flat black wallpaper
works great with Manila Rhodium VGA
Mirror: http://rapidshare.com/files/213475619/PLAzmA_Black_Mod_Pack.cab.html
So all those nice Rhodium Apps are not running on the Omnia, is that right?
But why? Because different Screen-Resolution or because its not a HTC-Device?

the release by XBmod is VGA, it was originally ported from WVGA i belive, as long as you can find a version thats the right resolution it should run, no idea where you can get it maybe ask xbmod if the extracted it or has it in cab format.

1. The Omnia has different graphics hardware than the HTC Touch Diamond-Pro series (which just so happens to be the same hardware on the upcoming second generation aka Rhodium and Topaz or Pro2 and Diamond2) which have an ATI chip. The Omnia has and Intel Xscale Direct 3D chip which is integrated into the CPU. I believe the Diamond and Pro's card is not and is totally separate.
2. The Omnia runs at 400x320 or WQVGA. The Blackstone runs at 800x480 WVGA as well so installing on the Blackstone was as simple as cabbing it up (which btw isn't so simple). The Touch Pro and Diamond run at 640x480 and porting Manila2 to these devices was hard enough.
3. There is already Manila 2D from the Touch 3G and Opal (iolite) working on the Omnia which is good enough. Check this out if you already haven't (http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-http-omnia-modaco-com/273892/complete-install-guide-for-manila-touchflo-2d-on-i900/)
thanx for this plazma. works great on my touch pro.
one request however, it works fine in portrait mode but not in landscape. is it possible you can add that in as well?
