[Q] Best Battery NAND ROM - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey guys,
Just to get a sense form the different users on this thread. What is your experience with battery life for the different ROMs on here (MDJ's Gingerbread had worked best for me when it still version 2.3 I think). Since, no ROM has given me a decent battery life.
(T-MO US 1024 - Current ROM Markinux 1.6)

For me is:
[29 JAN][TMOUS][LEO1024][DFT/CWM]CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD(2)[KERNEL:MDJ 10.4OC]

My bad battery life was due to a bad radio... Update/Switch radios, Also almost no android phone gets amazing battery life the hd2 gets average battery life ...I havent had one yet!

First, somebody move this theard away.
On topic : prj 3.2 is the best one my hd2 ever experienced from all points of view:
Battery - 2 days
Speed - Lightning speed.

prj 0.3.2 by projection (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897191) and the ROM based on it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931126) by skink are better than any windows 6.5 based ROMs.

What radio do you suggest and how do I go about installing it? Can I flash it over all the things I have installed already? Right now I'm on the 2.08.50 with 1024 tmous hd2. Thanks

+1 Battery life rules on all of CMYLXGO's builds.
I do think most of the reported drain that people are experiencing is due to them not doing the tweaks needed to have a long lasting battery. Depending on what is set to sync and what is not set to sync out of the box, that will determine your battery life after you load the build. But everything can be tweaked. I haven't really had a build yet that has horrible battery life since I did the research and figured out all of the tweaks.

Which builds have 1mA standby? I've seen people mention having such low standby values. All builds I've tried i have 2mA standby. Never seen 1mA, even disabling data/sync..etc..

@Mik0
please can you mention which are the ROM have 2mA on standby, i had tested some builds least i noticed is 4mA

Nand builts battery drainage!

Hey guys.. I'm using Cotullas stock Desire HD nand rom... My battery last about a day with a few calls/sms...(Today i woke up and my phone was dead)
With SD card builts i have 2-3 days battery life with only a few calls/sms! Is there any other new NAND built that battery drainage is ok?
Since I've installed a NAND Android build, my phone lasts much longer than with SD card builds.

LOL! WTF? Maybe because you have a T-Mous or something?
What built do you have?????
I'm with Cotullas stock Desire HD too. And now, sometime I see 3ma in standby.
Till now I've never see less then 4ma. So, for me, it`s better with nand Android
I have autosync active... all the time.(weather, email, facebook...)
You can check programs... some program may be is draining a lot of power.
Did you test with clean ROM, without any installed programs?

Guys, which software do you use to to check battery drain - I cannot see where the mA statistics are reported, only what is using my battery.... Thank you

I've been going for 27hrs now on the same battery with over 40% still left! I have only made 1 call, but used it lots on wifi and SMS.
Awesome, the battery usage i'd say.
Is your wifi on ? i have a normal HD2 (Not Tmouse) and i had massive batt drain above 50mah sleep until i turned wifi completely off.
now i get 2-5mah sleep.
I have wifi on. Its in 3g in standby mode. Have u turned off wifi location setting. That helped alot in all builds.

Everyone got 60-70ma in standby after making a call with cotullas build.
Change the kernel to this one and it's fine after that

Gingerbread 2.3 ROM

Thanks.

I've only found 2 Gingerbread ROMs on here so far.

i don't know why so much people are asking for the "best" rom, instead of testing them by themself. tastes are different and in case of gingerbread you don't have much options...
i love mdj's gingerbread 1.8a - everything works with awesome speed.

hows your battery life? I've tried ALL of the froyo nands. I've been wanting to switch over to gingerbread but I'm waiting until the major bugs get ironed out. Battery life being the biggest one.

you complain about battery life on ginger bread? for me gingerbread has by far the best battery life. hd roms and builds drained my battery very fast - especially when i'm using the phone a lot. i just flashed 1.8a some hours ago (used 1.5 some time ago), so i can't tell you much about total drain in hours. but from what current widget says, standby drain is 3-4ma.

I'm not complaining about gingerbreads battery life. I was just asking. I haven't run it yet. I've heard that battery life is terrible on it.
I'm using TopiaHD nand (2.2.1) and getting about 2mA standby
As well another concern of mine is TMOUS mms. I do a lot of picture messaging and the blurry MMS kills me. TopiaHD has perfect TMOUS mms.
So with battery life not being terrible on 2.3......last thing is the MMS. Is there any word on that yet?
don't feel attacked by my words. my english isn't good enough to express exactly what i want to
well can't tell you much about mms, since i'm not using it. if you get 2ma on a hd build you should stick with it. i got 3-4ma in standby on gingerbread, compared to hd builds i used before with 5-7ma standby it's a hugh improvement. especially as i said before, it lasts much longer while playing around!

android rom with best battery life?

what is the android rom with best battery life? and how is it compared to an htc desire?
I am about to buy the hd2 but the only drawback i am finding so far is battery life as everyone seems to complain about it
and i often listen to music on my phone... like 4-5 hours per day...
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=895059
Of all the ROMs from XDA I was tested on [26.JAN] [DFT / Cwm] NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9G [Android2.2.2] [Kernel: tytung_r2_oldcam]. The only that keeps me the most battery.
Sorry for my english
thx for the reply! how long does it last on regular use (some calls, some games, sms, browsing and music)
the best way to find out which rom gives out the best bat life is to experiment with the different ones out there. and a big factor also lies in your set up. i've already upgraded my hd2 rom and radio and i'm very pleased with my current set up as follows:
rom: chuckyrom lite
radio: 2.15
android: mdj froyo 4.6
by far it's given me the best power battery output ever. to give you an idea, i charge my phone in the evening. as soon as it's 100% i then unplug it. that'll be done at around 10pm when i go to sleep. i wake up at 6am and the battery shows 97%. not bad for 8 hours on standby. and i'm using live video wallpaper. on the way to work, i watch vids for like 40 minutes on the train. by the time i get to the office, my battery is at 80%.
cheers

Most Android phones have poor battery life, thats just how it is.
There is many, many different things you can do to improve it and its all documented here on forum.
really? however htc hd2 is initially not an android phone.. i am worried that it's battery life would be worse than true android devices?
I have push mail and weather updates and such running on an android Darkstone RAM froyo sense rom, and the battery life is as good as, or better than it was on windows.
It's more stable than windows, that is for sure.
I have dual boot, so I can still boot into windows too, so the android is extra.
another question: is the robot voice still an issue with some android roms? while reading threads of android on hd2 whether ram, sd or nand, i often see people complaining about robot voice issue!!! i hope it's no more there with the newest android roms... that sounds like a very bad issue for me!!

last android rom im using lasts only 6 hours with the extended battery .... im looking for a rom with long battery life so it can last for at least a day ......
I think all nexus roms from tytung have a great battery life.
---------- Post added at 04:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:57 PM ----------
in my opinion this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693319 is very stable and battery friendly.
I have choose this for my moms phone. And she is very happy with it..
Tytung
Yes every ROM from NEXUS bu tytung have great battery life. I think you should use jellybean 4.2.2
I used SlimKat (more than 2 days battery life), but it was very slow and I changed it to Nexus KitKat.
Unfortunately, Nexus has worse battery life than SlimKat.

Best battery rom

I have been on hd2 since the MDJ days and have tried heaps of roms. I have been very happy with hyperdroid.
But is it the best for battery? I would like to know the best 2.3 rom for battery life guys.
Thanks.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
There is no such ROM that can be classified as best battery ROM. Try using different ROMs and see which one suits your usage and requirements the best.
I am using American Android and i get a day of battery life with normal use....little of WiFi....Data ON
OK cheers. Problem is it take a while to figure out how good or bad a rom is.
What I am hearing is none will be substantially better than hyperdroid.
I have just ordered a new OEM battery so will report back on any upgrade from my 2 year old one

The only differences in battery life I can see are between SD and NAND ROMs, but other than that as far as I can tell all NAND ROMs are pretty much the same at around 4ma
Yes...NAND ROMs do have more battery life than SD ROMs as for SD ROMs there is RW to SD card for everytime.
Do share the battery performance with NAND Hyperdroid with heavy usage.. (like data always on and wifi usage + lot of calls and sms )
Idle drain is to my issue. I guess that large screen sucks thee juice

Then from what I've experienced all ROMs will give you 3-5ma battery drain with screen off so you should be fine.

You have every reason to like iPlasm's Phonerty CyanogenMod 9.1. Personaly I have been using it for several months, and it is almost perfect: I do not use GPS (therefore do not know whether it works), but WiFi works flawlessly and the battery life exceeds 5-6 days (I modified CPU settings to SmartassV2 governor with 19 MHz to 806 MHz frequency, and it holds the battery perfectly).
So I recommend that you try this ROM :good:

Did you adjust CPU overclocking settings? You should do this to make your battery live longer. I posted mine above.
And what does the batterry monitor show? Maybe battery drain is because of some 3rd-party applications, which you had installed.
