[Q] MMS problem - Blade General

Hi!
I have the following problem: I can't receive MMSs. I have MMS APN in my device, but it is somehow locked for editing. In the messages appears a thread with a Download button, but when I press it, a text appears saying that the download is unsuccessful. Can this be caused by the ROM I am using or it is something else?
BTW the ROM is Modaco custom Froyo ROM R7.

I have not experienced this problem but someone over at modaco experienced an issue similar, see copied text below, link here :http://android.modaco.com/content-p...-froyo-rom-download-online-kitchen/page/1420/ post 443
It's APN setting. Check "authentication type" for MMS APN, it has to be set to PAP - and there you go.
(If it's not editable - I've figured out a workaround: just create a new APN, with any name, to 'mms' APN (second line in config), set authentication type to PAP. Save it. If ypu check the original MMS APN settings, it has changed also to PAP as auth. type... Now you can delete the one you've just created, MMS will work You're welcome.)

Problem with MMS Composer (ROM 1.12.01)

Hello all,
I have installed the new ROM 1.12.01 from T-Mobile. Now i have a small problem with the new MMS composer 2.5.0.28. If i try to create a new MMS and select "To:" the Contacts will displayed, but if i select a contact
the number will not assumed as receiver
Can anybody confirm this problem?
Any solutions?
Thank Yoshi
I have another problem. After installing 1.12.01 there is no MMS at all in messaging accounts. Though in "Tools - MMS Settings" it says
"MMS Composer Version2.0.0.22" and I can actually set it up, I do not have MMS account.
During update I know for sure that I have installed MMS ArsSoft cab (whatever it is called...).
Anybody can help please?

No MMS in Messaging

i tried manually installing the Arcsoft MMS client from extended rom.
i do have mms options (to define servers) but i don't have MMS in accounts - only POP and text.
Help? :/
To test firstly: what happens if you try to send an MMS message to yourself?
I Can't.. i don't have any mms box
i tried right clicking a picture and "send via mms" to myself..
i got an empty SMS... :/
Help
In accounts I also doesn't have mms accounts, but I got MMS folders. I tried to send mms to my friend, she can receive it and vice versa.
Btw, have u install your operator settings from your old ext rom ?
My old rom is an O2, then I upgrade to 1.13 t-mobile +big storage, and then I execute 2 files from my old extended rom, which is
CAB-Customization-Magician-O2Asia[youroperatorname]MMS*.cab
and
[youroperatorname]_ALL*.cab
After that, my GPRS + MMS settings automatically set.

[Q] black screen in APN settings

Hello, from some time now i'm experiencing this problem.
I have no APN settings in the APN screen. It's all black and i have to manually input them all the time i change to a new ROM.
Can you help me to solve thi issue please?
Did you ran Market Enabler? If you did, then every time you change (fake) the provider, the APN setting will be refreshed following the new provider and you'd have to re-enter your provider's APN parameter.
Well, that's how I experience it on mine.
No i have a stock shui8 1.4b rom. no changes. the problem is that there are no APN at all.
So when the phone connect to my operator the system automatically didnt show me any pre
setted APN (web, mms, wap etc)
It just give a black screen and i have to add all of them manually
I encounter similar setback during the earlier batch of builds. This is common, as builder need to compile a complete apns-conf.xml (Build-time APN configuration) which is to be loaded during boot.
Try finding a complete apns-conf.xml and copy it to /system/etc/ folder. Follow this thread for further information.

More than 1000 Global Carriers Configuration

I decided to open a new thread because there are many questions/doubts about APN `s configurations after custumized rom`s instalation.
I'm not sure it will work because I can only see my brand, so please try and indicate which/whom do not work so i can make changes to make available to users.
Steps:
1. Download "APN Backup & Restore" on market Market (free);
2. If you already have your correct settings do a backup first (i´m not responsible if you don`t);
3. Create a folder in the root of sdcard "ApnBackupRestore" if you haven`t done any backup before;
4. Copy file attached to the folder you`ve just created (unzip that);
5. Press the "Restore APN`s " Button.
It will begin to install the file and if all goes as expected, without error and have Internet access;

If you've debranded using one of the roms from here you should have the Sim ToolKit which can be used to get your settings.

What about standard in X10 function in settings - Settings > Sony Ericcson > Settings download? I have Global World FW, but this function automatically gave me two sets of settings for my carrier's - T-Mobile GPRS and t-zones GPRS. I haven't upgraded to any dataplan since use wifi, so I can not say they are working, but I compared with settings at the forum - they look correct. Are there any exceptions for using this standard way?

I've checked the setting for Globe APN in the Philippines, it is correct for post paid but not for pre-paid, it should be http.globe.com.ph or else it will not work. X10 handset downloads the the post paid APN setting, I found this when I was roaming there...

Above settings are for the Bulgarian mobile operator MTel. Not sure if there is MTel in Bosnia...
Edit: apparently there is MTel there (actually "M:Tel" : as per wikipedia. This operator is apparently known as M:Tel and it has nothing to do with the Bulgarian MTel.

what should I do? the zip contains 2 files, settings 1 and settings 2. Settings 1 runs fine, but my carrier settings are on Settings2. I extracted both files at the same time.
Then on APN program choose just the other XML file.
You don't need to install both.

Nothing. I tried to copy the code to the file that was "ok" but when I tried to restore it the same message appeared.
Tried to run the original file with my carrier settings and nothing else in the folder, but same message.
I input the settings manually through settings>wireless and network>mobile networks>Access Point Names
hi,i'm going to Philippines for vacation and i would like to use my x10 there(for email and recived calls coz my parents want pics of grandkids,right away)anyway,i'm in japan but my x10 is rooted and planing to install any cm6 room with cam fix,coz now i use custom 2.1 rom but cm6 looks nicer.the only thing i use from docomo(carrier , provider)is the apn.
since i've been trying different roms i have apn backuprestore with docomo settings. my questions are:
1.i already have a apn backup file/folder on my sd card with docomo settings;do i have to put the settings of globe prepaid there too?all together?
2.if not,how the apn backup will read the globe settings?or i need to do it manually.
3.no need of stk.apk ,right?
4.last question i think,when i tried cm6 by wolfbreak 4.3 version i think,i didn't need the apn app coz it found my carrier apn by itself.it means would do the same for globe apn?
5.if i need to unlock my sim in the first place myb all my question above are for nothing.sorry if i wasted anybody's time.
peace
