[Q] What bands does the HTC hd2 work with and will it work with Bell in Canada? - HD2 General

Hi all...
I really want to buy an HTC hd2 and I live in Canada. Can someone tell me what bands this device works with and if it would work with the Bell network here in Canada?
Thanks in advance...

Hey yep I use an HD2 on bell in Canada (near Toronto)... BUT the only one that works with the bell frequencies is the Australian Telstra T 9193 model. You've gotta make sure that's the model you buy. It has symbols at the bottom of the back of the phone.. easiest way to tell. It says 'next G network' and it has the Telstra 'T' logo as well. The phone rocks, and I highly recommend it. Good luck

The model t8585 wont work with Bell AFAIK but hey i could be wrong

Might it not be a simple case of flashing custom radios to the phone to get coverage (like a radio that will work in the region of Bell)? if so then you should be able to use any HD2 in Bell, providing that you flash the phone with HARDSPL3 and then a relevant radio to the region.

Ya... this is what I was thinking as well. I want to mod the device to run android and windows 7 though. Will flashing a different radio still allow me to do this? Sorry foe the noob question.
Also... if I went to like Moblicity or Wind Mobile where the bands are different, would the T-Mobile hd2 work with those providers?

sorry bud the telstra t9193 is the ONLY one that supports bell, regardless of flashing radios etc..now if you did wind or moblicity then yepper you can use the TMOUS HD2. but like i said, only the t9193 will work with bell.

EVO on TELUS (Canada)

I want to know if there are any members here who are successfully using the EVO on the TELUS network here in Canada. I've heard of a few people doing it, but nothing reliable. I'd like to get one, but don't want to waste my money.
I know it will work on our evdo cdma band (in theory) but I would like to hear from someone who has actually done it, and if you had any problems getting it running.
Thanks.

dont bother telling us which country, network and phone model you have will you.
Let me go get my crystal ball......
Hd 2 Leo usa
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
network? and does "hd2 leo usa" mean you have a hd2 leo and live in the usa, or you have a hd2 leo usa version? (does it say t mobile beneath the earpiece?)
ohhhhhh wait, this is an android question isn't it?
in which case I have no clue, sorry. You should post in the energy Rom mccm thread.
ok if its winmo, 3g is turned off in comm. mngr. by default in the energy roms, try there first..... .
if its android then chances are its a build specific issue so try the appropriate thread....
and if its a tmous unlocked on a different network then you probably wont get 3g anyway.
Thank u ....but know what I'm getting an H instead a 3g why I don't know but o Google it and its basically the same or faster...Hd2 Android yeah everything work good apps everything I was just a little worry about my signal...
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
And yes its a t-mobile branded Htc Hd2 it says Leo ...in the name info..
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
heh well thats why. the tmous roms dont have the H symbol (i dont think?), meaning hsdpa, meaning 3.5G
So u agreed the H IT'S.BETTER .SIGNAL MUCH STRONGER THAN REGULAR 3G..

HTC Wildfire A3335 on AT&T

Does anyone have any experience with running the Wildfire (A3335 with 850mhz band) on AT&T?
Thanks
Ok, so nobody is running the Telstra Wildfire on AT&T, but is anybody running it on one of the other carriers that have 850 mHz 3G, like Rogers? What is your experience?
Thanks!
Should work (i have a 3333 and am from the UK and am unable to test it)

Thanks, I appreciate the offer though.
I'm running an imported Telstra A3335 on New Zealand's XT network which is 850MHz band.
Some people here also import AT&T Captivates to use on the same network, so I'm sure a Telstra Wildfire will work fine on AT&T.
Just make sure its unlocked first and be prepared to put up with the Telstra splash screen.
I've decided to just go with a T-Mobile HD2. I'm not worried about only having edge speed, so that's easier.
Thanks

HTC inspire 4g (Desire HD At&t ?)

Is this the at&t version? If so I can not wait.
Sent using XDA App
Looks like it. Plus this one has 4G antennas.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
4g ? So this means it is diffirent hardware? Like the difference betwn gsm and cdma?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
It's still GSM but supports the upcoming 4G LTE. It should work on European networks, but only at 2G speeds, just like the DHD works on US GSM networks.

Why not just release Desire HD for the whole world? Why restrict it to EU and then make a slightly different one with a different name for US? Weird... s:
Because North Americans like to be "unique"
Is not us north Americans who want to be unique, In this case AT&T wants to have its way as always and restrict the phone and add their usual brand crap. If only HTC would sell it US VERSION UNLOCKED I would pay 600 for it.
I think the mentality is different in the US. People don;t usually buy SIM free phones at the full price there. Most get locked in a contract in which you get a free phone.
Moreover, the US uses different 3G bands than the rest of the world (except Telstra).
HTC Inspire (AT&T) is in FACT a Desire HD (ACE).
There will be plenty of good firmware available for it, including CM7.

The inspire is not a desire HD, for starters its a 4G device, so it will need totally diffrent radios, as for roms, i wouldnt be suprised if it had a revised hardward setup meaning it will need its own roms...

htc inspire 4G (3G doesn't catch in Russia)

Hello! Help, please! I from Russia.
Has bought phone htc inspire 4G in the USA.
Ranges don't coincide with ours and 3G doesn't catch.
WCDMA/HSPA (850/1900 MHz) - the USA and (900/2100 MHz) - Russia.
It is possible to make so that in Russia has earned 3G???
Thanks in advance!
Probably not.
You won't get 3g. Frequencies are different

use radio firmware can change the range??

It doesn't work, the phone is built to use only those frequencies.
And, if, for example, I the inhabitant of the USA. I have decided to go to other country with such phone and it is necessary for me vital 3G. Also it appears that it doesn't work. After all it is wrong??

Why not just get a Desire HD? It's the same phone and probably has the right bands for your country since it's sold everywhere outside the US.

The matter is that one of these days has received inspire 4G and already late to think about desire HD (((((((
And nevertheless it is strange that the inhabitant of the USA goes with such phone to other country and ceases to work 3g)))))

It's not strange. Different countries have different frequencies. See if you can trade with someone in the US for a Desire HD since it has
HSPA+.

Thanks for the help to all!
Not to create one more theme, has decided to ask here...
Prompt, how many the built in memory in htc inspire 4g??? (At me only shows that is free 1GB)
And still....
There was no way to force to work 3G in Russia?
The inspire has 4gb internal, though only 1gb is available for apps.
And nope their is no way to make the inspire compatible with Russia's 3g frequencies. Your best bet is selling the inspire and getting desire hd

I am having same issue. I am in Kuwait and Inspire is not able to get HSPA/3g. Due to.that when we use internet, no voice call will reach and its shame on HTC..if US reside want to travel & use 3g, what will be the case?
Please let me.know if u get any solution.
Nonsense can I will ask....

Same [email protected]%#$t in Belarus...
Please search before opening a new thread. This has been covered hundreds of times over the years.
The hardware Antenna is designed to only work on ATT 3g bands, no amount of programing can fix this. You would have to change the hardware.
A Search would have shown you this.
