Probably waiting to see what new tablets will come out...but then when they see things like the $700-800 price tag of tablets like the Xoom, people will start buying Archos stuff again...
The honneycomb video look neat.. But all those open widgets, what for.. Seems like they could of made thiose widgets for the 2.2 aswell. Is Android getting like Microsoft. Everytime Windows upgrades we have to go out and buy new hard ware to run it.

I'm probably going to buy my Transformer from amazon.co.uk within a few weeks, but there's something I'm not quite sure about. Light bleeding issues seem to be rather common in Transformers, and if I get a faulty unit like this, will it be possible to get it replaced after opening the package? Thanks!

Warranty should be worldwide. At least europe is fully covered no matter where it was bought (in eu)

I find this somewhat incredibly annoying. Why is Amazon taking new orders for the tablet when they have not serviced my order for the tablet + keyboard. Afaik the keyboard is completely separate to the tablet and arrives in its own box. They should be sending me my tablet now before taking new orders. It is an order with 2 items and both should be sent when they are available instead of waiting until both are available.
I cancelled my order with keyboard and order one without keyboard. I wonder if they really have one - there was "4 left in stock" written under the description.
you're right, it shows 'in stock' at the moment. However my keyboard combo is still expected to be dispatched on 31 may (ordered mine on 15 april)
I ordered the tablet+ keyboard est dispatch 1st june. Maby there is a shortage of keyboards, might just pick up the tablet and wait for the keyboard to be released tho is it guaranteed that it will be sold seperately.

It will be. Some shops already advertise it. It will probably not be cheap though.
Surely just £50 I.e. the differene of buying the tab on its own and the tab+keyboard.

I bought a 10 " inch screen 8 gigabyte version of the A500 Iconia from Best Buy. Seems to be ether a new model or one only made for Best Buy. I haven't gotten it in yet through the mail. I wonder if it will have the same specs as the 16GB model(aside from the memory of course)....and the same quality.
They sell the 8gb version at Costco too. Once the sold out of the 32gb they pulled that in.

As of last week, the 8Gb was 350 at Costco here in the Seattle area. Came with a sort of weak free case.
Congrats on the purchase. I picked one up from Best Buy as well. Now if they'd get around to shipping it, I'd be even happier.
The two things that have been noticed on this one is the lack of mention of GPS anywhere (though many of us are hopeful that it has GPS) and that power indicates 110 whereas all other models indicate 110/220.
Haven't seen anything else yet so now we're all waiting for our units to arrive to begin the fun.

GPS is not mentioned in any of the versions of A500 tabs.
pretty sure they all have GPS. plenty of threads exist with a500 users having wifi only models and using GPS. just make sure to apply all the GPS tweaks
a stock a500 isnt quite as hot as a tweaked out a500. earl reviews of the stock item at the original retail price were just OKAY at best. but if you tweak the little it turns into quite the little tablet.

say what? i have a wifi only version(a500) and it has gps. no tweaks needed. i doubt these 8gb versions have gps. official acer site and best buy have no mention of gps at all.
can anyone that actually has one in hand check? what a total bummer if it didnt.
this is the same a500 model as any of the other a500 models, with only 8gb. every a500 has built-in gps, just like every samsung galaxy tab 10.1 has gps. you dont need to have the 3G (a501) model to have gps.
the acer website doesnt list ANY of the 8/16/32 or 501 models as having GPS at all, so you can't go by that.

I'm going to return it though because I decided to get a 32gb one from Tigerdirect for $400. 8gb just wasn't getting it done with Honeycomb's inability to move apps and data to the sdcard like Gingerbread. I was using almost all of the internal memory and I only had 8 of my games installed. Those Gameloft games need a lot of memory.

I got the 32GB one from costco for a similar price, $350 + tax. But if you can get bestbuy's price at $220, it might worth it.

The $229 8gb Acer A500 at Best Buy was a Cyber Monday deal that actually sold out by early Sunday morning. I think I saw "normal" pricing referred to as $380. I was lucky enough to snag one of the Cyber Monday tablets, but even though they say 0-1 day to ship, it is still "in process" and has not shipped yet.

I'm going to assume that means business days. It should be ready to ship today but who knows what the details are. Best Buy may not have them and are awaiting shipment from Acer which would explain why they weren't available immediately for store pickup (which was set at 5-7 days).
Hoping for the best as I'd like to get my hands on this tablet and start playing with it.

From what I've read, it does NOT have a GPS in it. I'll have to find my sources, but if you google the SKU, it's a special, Best-Buy only device (from what I could find).

I ordered Noon-ish on Sunday, and it said "processing, 0-1 days..blah blah" until about noon EST today (tuesday).
Yes, it gave me a tracking number, and the original order (with 2-day shipping) said EXPECTED DELIVERY: Nov 30-Dec 1. UPS shows it as on time, Nov 30 by the end of the day.
EDIT--it does say it shipped on the 28th, even though I didn't get an email or tracking number until mid-day the 29th.

Lucky basterd! I ordered mine on Sunday at around 2:30am. Yeah that early, I don't know why I was still up that late lol. Mine still says order is being fulfilled or something like that so I the order hasn't been processed but it does let me cancel it anymore. The estimated dates I have are earliest Dec. 1 and latest Dec. 8
Yeah the folks over at slickdeals who bought the tab are all arguing on if it has GPS or not and if it has a flash mem or a micro hard drive. HAHA! I can understand the GPS debate, but the other one is just plain stupid.

EDIT: And none of the A500 tabs on acer's official website list anything about GPS, but they obviously do so I would assume that this one does too.

Man you guys got your Tf300T's pretty cheap. I got mine at Singapore when it first came out. Costed me roughly $580 for the tablet and the dock
That is an awesome price, holy cow! I got mine from Best Buy for I think $380 for the Tablet and $110 for the dock, but that was after my employee discount. I will ask my manager tomorrow if they can price match AND apply the discount, that would be swwwweeeeet!

Does best buy even offer price matching? I tried to talk the salesman about how it's on Amazon, newegg and other websites cheaper but he didn't seem to know anything and I just picked it up for their price. Didn't want to wait and possibly pay for shipping. I will look for deals on the keyboard dock though. That I can wait a bit on.

I stumbled upon this deal this morning while researching tables. I was going to get the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 until I read the Engadget and CNet reviews. Found out this one is much better. I was at work and called the store to have them hold one for me this I got off work. When I got there they told me that I got the last one and other customers were upset that I has one on hold.
Anyway, I go mine for $377.11 with tax and the keyboard dock for $107.74 with tax. The didn't have the keyboard dock so it is be shipped from another store. I should have it with two or three days.

Yeah, just my two cents - I too price matched with Best Buy (my brother visiting from Ireland had bought this at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago). I ended up buying it myself from officemax and then we price matched his at best buy! They were all confused as honestly, I don't think anyone ever takes them up on their offer! But $54 is $54!! ;-)
Office Max TF300t Dock
Appears that Office Max has pulled the TF300t Dock from their web site. Sold out!
At that price I can see why. But not sure why they can't offfer a raincheck. If they did not do their research on what a good deal this was then shame on them. They knew it because of the way they presented it in their flyer. Best Buy had thousand of back orders at Christmas on the TF201 and honored them all. Even gave free docking stations based on the lack of Christmas delivery. Guys argue and hold them to it!
I got the tablet and dock at Best Buy yesterday. They matched the tablet since in stock in local stores, but would not match the keyboard. I went ahead and also got the keyboard from Best Buy hoping the keyboard would be in stock this week at OM to price match.
Then I decided to go ahead and order the keyboard from OM yesterday, since expected them to run out and not get any in store this week.
The dock shipped last night and I will take the other dock back to BB when I get it. Total price for tablet and dock was same price as the A510 and Excite.
just bought my tpad tf300t for $320 at my local best buy! It was a must but when i saw it. The device was pre owned and the box was opened but everything else wasnt touched at all. the device wasnt even turned on.

There will be a tablet and dock in Kentucky tomorrow if my dock is dead and the tablet almost dead while left in sleep mode again. I have had this happen twice in a row and both times the device was restarted, no third party apps used and push notifications disabled.
Shame since got both for $450, but usless to me if the dock and tablet do not behave well together. I have not rooted, so a stock device should not be doing this.
The Excite also had a battery bleed issue while asleep, but 12%, not almost the whole thing (dock too). The A510 did not have the problem, but gets too hot during use.
Added:
I may end up using my View as my main Android tabby and the iPad 3 for everything else. Bummer.

Haha, yes. I called best buy to see if they would price match a white online one for a blue office max one and the answer was no.
Thanks for this thread & the information. I have done my research and am ready to pull the trigger on purchasing this TF300 tablet. A couple of questions:
I have a BestBuy in a local town about 20 minutes away from me and there is an OfficeMax in that same local. Online, the OfficeMax of course says "Backordered" in this particular store when I search for it. The BestBuy shows it in stock, however I haven't called them to verify yet.
I see BestBuy also has the 16gb model at a similar price to the 32gb that is on sale at OfficeMax.
Will they try to play this off as being that one and thus not be inclined to give me the "price match" offer?
Should I ask them over the phone about the "price match" when calling to verify they actually have the 32gb in stock before making the trip OR would it be best to just show up with the Ad?
Is a salesman the person I present the ad to OR should I just walk in and go to the customer service desk with it?
Sorry for the goofy questions, just trying to have both ores in the water so I have the best chance at getting this accomplished.
If you buy the Asus Vivo RT from Microcenter it's 499. And i got my dock from them. I have a letter in the mail basically saying that Asus is being slow with delivering them and I should come to the store with that letter to get a new dock.
Went to the store and got my dock. I'll post the letter if anyone wants to see.
499 plus a free dock... cant beat that. And after i got the dock i am using my tablet so much more. I can finally use my remoteapps fine and do all i need to do in switches. There isn't even one decent ssh or telnet utility on the market right now. So i made myself a remote app.
