Gamepad on Adam? - Adam General

Heya! I just had a reather interesting idea. Would it be possible to use a HID-Compatible Gamepad like a Logitech PS2-Clonepad on the Adam? For example to use it together with an Emulator? That would make for a quite neat non-touch gaming experience.

The problem with that would probably be finding a gamepad that supports HID. Works perfectly with my Bluetooth HID keyboard though...

Thanks to the hard work of Meister_li, I can say that there /is/ a usb gamepad emulator IME for android.
Unfortunately, I do not currently have a HID gamepad to test it with, but you can see the thread I started requesting help getting the app. It has the APK attached.

possible mouse support?

according to these screenshots, http://www.android-x86.org/screenshot , from the android x86 project, android has been made to work with a mouse. it has also been made to work with a bluetooth keyboard. is it possible that maybe we will someday have bluetooth mouse support? im thinking Quake 3, people. thatll be awesome.
WHAT?! i ran the hidd script with my mouses mac address and it worked. holllyyy ****. does anyone know if theres a way to edit settings, like sensitivity, and possibly rotate the input? because when the screen is in landscape, for games such as quake 3 for instance, the input still works as if it was in portrait. or at least show the cursor?
I think it's time to start a [THINKTANK] thread

Xperia PLAY Touchpad emulation, using trackpad.

Hello,
I almost got Minecraft running on my HTC Desire, WITH NO EXTERNAL CONTROLLERS! DPAD Works, Put/Destroy works, BUT, i can't look around. That was controlled by the right touchpad, on the Xperia PLAY. My question: Can we use the trackpad, to emulate the touchpad? If someone finds the answer, i'll also release the info on how to play it using no external controllers
I am keeping the info, since i don't want someone to steal my ideea
(Vid coming tomorrow)
What if someone "steals your idea"? someone smart enough to emulate the right Touchpad probably knows better than to look at your thread.
Check /system/usr, find out what controls the Touchpads and then use something else to remap it (like say, a PS3 controller, Wii remote).

As i said, i succeded in emulation of ALL the keys, with NO EXTERNAL controller. This is my goal. Everything must be done on the phone. The optical trackpad (on most phones) would be a good choice for emulation.

AFAIK; this is not possible. The touchpad on the Xperia play is a synaptics touchpad running "below" android. I am currently writing a kernel module that emulates the synaptics touchpad, sending events to the linux input system while reporting as a synaptics tp.
I'll let you know how I get on. Just compiling now...

Any progress?

Onlive app.

Has anyone tried Onlive app from market place yet on the Streak?
I was able to download the app and started a trial game but not sure how to use it without a keyboard. Any ideas.
Cheers,
David.

There are only so many supported touch screen games...
Look for the finger (next to the pad or keyboard),
This means it has touch controls.
They are bringing out a bluetooth controller for it which will work with all games (due before christmas)
Thanks for that. Will a normal bluetooth keyboard work?
Not sure m8.

Keyboard + mouse for games?

I just paired my bluetooth keyboard and mouse to my N7. I should have tried this sooner. It's an awesome experience.
Is there a way to play games like Dead trigger using the keyboard and mouse like a PC FPS game?
Curious - Which keyboard and mouse are you using?
Im curious too how could i use my keyboard and mouse as gamepad, in dead trigger all i can do is move with WASD buttons.
when i try to customize gamepad in settings. but i cant change anything from the defaults.. and that is frustrating.
Phon eis SGS3 mouse is microsoft bluetooth notebook mouse 5000 and keyboard is microsoft bluetooth mobile keyboard 6000.
Its really awesome using my xbox controller with onlive and any other game that supports it. I would love a true list of games that support different inputs.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
This app should do the trick. Need root though. I haven't tried it myself yet but looks awesome. I wish there was a way for devices with hdmi out to actually turn off the tablet while playing on a large screen

check this video out of someone mapping it for a fps:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eiiL3gaDnU
I'd like to hear someone's review specifically for a fps and how well the mouse handles. It doesn't look like he has the sensitivity that high and I'm not sure if it can be set so you can do a quick-flick 180's.
anyone get it working?

I used ShareKM and then, for dead trigger, this is the default weird configuration :
1) Directional keys to move around.
2) I,k,j,l to look around.
3) a,d to switch weapons.
4) 7 to use ironsight, 8 to reload and 9 to fire.
Too bad cant change the configuration of this. Also, I seem to have some trouble using the new app "TinCore Mapper".

Because at present the game has not been optimised for the mojo c.t.r.l.r, you can either connect a ps3 controller using sixaxis app and follow the provided tutorial.
Buy a xbox 360 controller transmitter and connect an xbox 360 controller and map using usb/bt joy app (youtube fora tutorial)
Or use the mojo controller configuring it to use on screen touch mapping using tincore key mapper (again youtube a tutorial) unfortuinately you will need a mouse connected to be able to drag down the tincore keymapper tool from the drop down menu when first wanting to map the keys, you can then save the profile so you dont require the mouse in future.
Thats the best i can think of at hand, possibly someone else has found a better way to map the ctrlr to mimic onscreen gestures

Which version to you have?
Mine works fine. I have version v1.0.7
The game should automatically recognize it.
I have a bluetooth keyboard and I start the game using the keyboard while my ctrlr is set to game mode.
Hope this helps

I was under the impression the developer of the app/game you are using has to have added support for the ctrlr so when start the game it detects the controller and works fine.
But for the bulk majority of android games that haven't added ctlrlr compatability it ain't going to work/work corectly by just moving the switch to game pad mode. For these games we require the tincore or sixaxis app.
