Which Screen Protector? - Gen8 General

Any thoughts on the best screen protector for an Arcos 101? Ive just ordered my Archos and I understand they don't come with a protector so would like to get something bfore it arrives. Are there better ones than others, or will a cheap one from ebay surfice?

I have generally used Zagg's invisible shield series. I ordered a skinomi for my 101 and did not like it. So I order a Zagg.

Thanks for that. Do you use adhesive or non adhesive based. I have seen an EXiM one for about $9.00. Not sure if thats a good price or not.

Which screen protector are u using?

Hi folks!
I just checked out ebay and other sources and discovered that a lot of new products for protecting your babies screen hit the market since Brando's Ultra Clear for my Kaiser
I found liquid products, silicone coatings, lotus effect stuff, several new brands, solutions for just the screen or the whole Touch Pro...
Are u using the shipped screen protector or anything else?
Brando, as with any other device.
i'm just using the screen protector that came with the phone...don't really see a reason to use another kind

When it wears out, get a Brando or Martin Fields. You will notice a difference.
Martin Fields
which one from brando should I take:
-original
-ultra clear
Exim screen protector... le deluxe! I've been using this brand forever. I don't feel like putting a $5 protector on a once $1050 but now $850 phone.
Take UltraClear, they're better for Touch Pro.
Wich one doesn't smudge as much as the regular one delivered with the device? Or is it just me having greasy fingers?
I have UltraClear and the smudges are all over the screen, I think I'll have to get used to it.
I only use Boxwave. They're the best.
According to this review, they're better than Brando.

I've got one on my Digital Rebel and Nintendo DS. Love them.
wat bout invisible shield any1 use it on ur touch pro
my major problem now is the screen protector that given by htc after a few day of using it has some scratches on the screen protector =/

Hmm, a review dating back to 2003, is getting to be a bit old now, don't you think?
I've ordered a Brando one, I've yet to set it.
Not really. We're not dealing with statistics here. Have plastic and adhesive technology changed so much in 5 years?
I've read reviews on the Brando and I've personally used Boxwave.
I'm sure I could find other reviews with different search terms, but it would do little good since you already ordered.
Anyway, no intarweb review is going to tip your mind. Better to just order them and try them out.
I have not received my Touch Pro yet, but I bought a box wave....I've used all except for Brando and I can say for me Box Wave have performed the best so far.
I'm using the Brando Ultra clear.
+It's extremely easy to apply without air pockets underneath.
-It's very fragile and withing a week I have 2 scratches in the screen protector
The screen protector you get with the Touch Pro is a lot less fragile but very crappy when it comes to applying it.
just ordered a box wave so I will report back and let you guys know how I like it. I got the crystal not the anti glare.
Using Exim SPUC Screen Protector since a few days and like it, quality is good, there's even a part to protect the bottom buttons
Just got the antiglare from Brando and applied it. I don't know but it doesnt seem easy for me to apply it properly.
I'll rest now and if I can, share photo of how it looks tomorrow.
Just installed a Boxwave anti-glare protector. The jury is still out for me on the portion that covers the keypad below the screen as it does interfere somewhat with the smoothness of the d-pad and center butten, but I do like the screen protector itself. It is definitely not fingerprint proof like advertised, but I do notice a reduction in glare as well as, more importantly, a good increase in touch sensitivity over the stock unit that came with the device.
I also ordered a crystal version that I have not yet installed.

If your invisibleSHIELD arrives please post a vew comments about it.
no problem.. ive used it before on an iphone and its pretty worth it id say.. but i dont know how its going to affect the touchscreen here since this type of touchscreen is harder to work with
i'd be very careful with the screen protector; that thing is very sticky and i read hear and on ppcgeeks.com about some users removing a screen layer when trying to remove the screen protector. i'm also interested in knowing if the zagg skins cover all exposed surfaces.
Will the robust rubbed backside look ugly plastic shiny after the full body cover? Imho I like the matte look more than shiny like an iphone.
I guess that fits better for already shiny phones like iphone, so its pretty much invisible.
Someone take some pics after the install, wanna see should i take just screen cover or full body...

Screen protector for X2?

Hi!
Yesterday I sent my X2 to service*, so I have probably a month or so to look for a screen protector - or do I need one? X2 is not equipped with one, so maybe S-E thinks the screen is good enough without it?
Probably not, so I'd like if you could recommend me a screen protector, maybe two - glossy and matte.
I don't care about its scratch resistance, I just want it to be as thin as possible so it does not interfere with the touch detection much.
Does anyone actually notice any difference between "expensive" and "cheap eBay" screen protectors?
Thanks!
*I know this sentence is not right, what term should I use?
Nobody using a screen protector for their X2?
im sure there was a thread about this somewhere else. but anyway, check out durasec hightec. i had their screen protector on my X1 for a year. its a special self healing plastic. small cuts and scratches just dissappear! highly recommended. they have their own website and are also on ebay. i think it comes from germany. costs around £9.
this is there ebay website. you dont want the cleartec ones, theyre just regular plastic.. its the HIGHTEC single protector.
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/falcixx/m.html?_nkw=x2&_sacat=0&_trksid=m270&_odkw=&_osacat=0&bkBtn=
they also have a regular website
http://www.durasec.com/
http://www.durasec.com/catalog/sony....html?osCsid=592e310bd0d500a9143cc56d6a853790
i really wouldnt bother with the cheapo ones. i had three with the X2 when i got it and they only last a week or so and get scratched very easily. the durasec will last as long as you have the phone. its quite thick but doesnt affect the touchscreen response at all.

I bought one for the i-Phone (price 2$ ) because in Lebanon we don't have accessories for SE so I cut it in order to become the size of the X2, touch so well and protect the screen from the wounds
The best solution for screen protect is Brando protector. I bought one and can´t belive that is so briliant! Best protector ever!
Here it is: http://mobile.brando.com/bw-ultraclear-smart-phone-s-p-sony-ericsson-xperia-x2-_p05064c0864d008.html
Thanks for your replies!
Well, yesterday I ordered some cheap protectors from eBay, both glossy and matte. I went after the lowest price, because I so far have not found any comparison or reliable testing which would prove these expensive "brand" protectors to be better. It is just a piece of plastic anyway, isn't it?

HD2 Criss Cross on LCD

So I just purchased a second hand HD2 and WOW, this thing has it going on!. It doens't look like it has a screen protector on it but I'm not sure. When the LCD is off you can see a criss cross pattern on the screen. Is this some sort of protector?

No, that's the capacitive touch screen sensors. All capacitive screens have that.
So thats why it feels so iphony. 10-4! Thanks. Now do you reccomend I buy one of the expensive ones at best buy or a cheapo off feebay? Is there a big difference?

you might be able to get away with not using one...the glass screen on the HD2 is treated to be much harder and more scratch resistant than regular glass. I've been using mine "naked" since I got it a couple of months ago, and don't have a single scratch even though it usually just gets stashed in my jeans pocket.

I agree with SirPhunkee but it couldn't hurt to have one on there. I saw a video on youtube of some guy going to town on the screen with a box cutter and knife and not a single scratch was on it. I got a screen protector, car charger, wall charger and case on amazon really cheap and it works great. All in all it is up to you! Good Luck
The screen is scratch resistant, not scratch proof.
I did and currently have my phone "naked" but like a dumb ass, i had in my pants pocket along with my kershaw knife. The small steel rounded allen head screw put 2 nice little scratches along the center bottom half of my screen.
Its an expensive, amazing device but sh!t happens
I love freaking people out by taking my keys to my screen. I've been using mine "naked" as well because I think screen protecters take away from the clarity.
My main gripe with screen protectors is it doesn't feel as accurate to the touch. I may go commando, maybe not. I bought one of those invisible sheilds from best buy tonight and so far I'm impressed. Much more then those ebay kits and feels like a real silicon layer. Hopeing touch sense will still be good too. Usually though if I pay under $150 for a phone I don't use a protector. More and if the phones mint I do.

The silicone is downright filthy. It attracts dust and clogs up the ear-piece grill like there is no tomorrow.
The $20 one I got from BB is like a sticky guey and wierd. You lube it up and work it on, then after 12 hours the micro bubbles are supposed to be gone. So far I'm 3 hours in and its looking pretty good. Its way thinner then the wallmart cut your own's. Which I have on me and realized how easy it would be to make one with the custom cuts.

If you dont mind spending $20 you can get the Zaag Invisible Shield from Best Buy for $20. They do have one custom cut for the T-Mobile HD2, I saw it in person last weekend at one of the Best Buys here in Tampa. I did not look closely enough at the box to see if it was just the screen protector or the full body protection kit.
I bought the full body kit off Zaag's site shortly after I bought the HD2, I think I spent $25 for it. In the end I ended up just using the screen protector and put the OEM silicone case back on it. The HD2 teetering on its camera lens bothered me, and I really wasn't crazy with how the body covering part of the Zaag kit looked, picked up lint along the edges of the sheets too. I also like the extra grip the silicone skin provdes. I can leave it lying on my car seat and not worry about it launching to the floor if i have to slam on the breaks. Seems you end up doing a lot of that here in Florida, between the crazy old people and the people who are just plain nuts or distracted
The Zaag protector did seem to slightly desensitize the screen a bit, but i actually like that. i found it to be way too sensitive after coming from a resistive screen device.
Yah I got the zag one. Looks great but I got a defective one. Has a lazer cut about half inch on the back of the screen. Looks great but I'm gonna return it for a perfect one. I figure if I'm spending $22 on a piece of PET it better be perfect. I like that you can buy replacements for $14 though and they will replace it for free if its damaged defending your phone.
Zagg invisible shields equal awesome. And I am not just saying that because the company started where I am from, lol.
I scratched mine the 2nd day I got it. I was placing it on a granite counter and just barely nicked the screen. It was driving me crazy.
Man..Whoooooww, Good thing that very day my phone's vibrator stopped working. Lucky I took it back and got a new one. ;-)
I scratched mine as well right in the middle because I had it in my pocket with my keys. I wish I could peel the film off and get rid of the scratch ! I hear that if I put a screen protector on it that it will hide the scratch though so I hope it works!

Skinomi or bestskinsever?

I'm deciding on 2 fully body clear skins/protectors
Skinomi

or
Bestskinever

SPG. I hate the orange peel on skinomi.
BestSkinEver? Dunno, i've never heard of it before.

Skinomi is a little bit thicker, so has more chance of orange peel and had a little bit of drag on my finger swipes. (Nit picking, it is slight)
I found skinomi to be better than zagg, although I've had a few skinomis that had a speckled glitter effect due to an uneven adhesive.
In my opinion, BSE is the best of all these wet skins.

I think they have a good warranty... And they are much better at marketing.
I picked up the Skinomi one. Wish it could get her when my nexus does.
I got one from Skinomi as well. Price got me but they all seem to be the same for me. Maybe I'll see, I'm used to third grade protectors from china lol.
I've had a Skinomi protector on my Sensation 4G for awhile. No peeling, I usually forget its there... don't throw your phone in your pocket with your keys. Turns out the Nexus 4 Skinomi product was already on my wishlist! lol
I have a Skinomi on my T-Mo Galaxy S2 and it is really nice. I have heard good things about Best Skins Ever so I might give them a try when I get my Nexus 4.

Just a heads up for those who bought from Skinomi:
they will be starting to ship anything Nexus 4 related tomorrow (nov 20). I bought a skin set myself.
