PC/Zune will not recognise HD2 after WinMo 7 flash - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

Hi guys,
Not really a noob as I have been flashing my friend and mine's HD2 for quite a while.
I've flashed Win 7 onto mine and everything is working perfectly except the pc and Zune will not recognise it. Also says device driver install failed. I had a quick search but I'm either blind and can't see it or it's not up.
Anyone able to help?
I've installed the Chevron cert but cannot get any further because of this.

I was fighting with that exact problem yesterday, took me forever to realize my sync problem was a driver install error. In Windows, go to the device manager while your phone is plugged in. It should have you phone listed with a yellow triangle on the icon due to the error. Right click that icon and you can tell it to resolve the error, or you can go into the properties and force it to install the driver again. Give it a min to get the driver installed and tested, then you should be in business!

me as well bro...

can someone pls upload the zune software here i can't download it from the site they say no available for your country , thanks

Ah man you are a hero. I had to go one step further though. I ended up having to update the intel AMT driver on my pc as it wasn't compatible with windows 7. All seems gravy now though. Thanks for the help

Ah spoke too soon, the pc now recognises it but Zune and Chevron still won't pick it up. So close..

Did you change the registry key?
I'm having the same problem, but my computer wont recognize the phone at all. The very first time I plugged it in, it did. But now with it plugged in nothing changes in device manager. The computer doesnt even make a sound when it is plugged in and unplugged. I have installed the wp7 tools and everything. It refuses to connect. Can someone help me please?

This is really annoying now. Brought it home and the laptop picked it up fine but I don't have enough space to install the developer tools.
Have the Intel AMT driver updated here and it still fails to install the driver properly. Wrecking my head now I can't put anything on it until I get this fixed.

FINALLY got it fixed. Was all set to give up and uninstall developer tools when I spotted a program called libusb32 installed. I then twigged an error in the driver details about an unsigned usb cert. Said I'd uninstall it just to see and voila. Phone was picked up straight away.
Bit more messing about trying to get it unlocked so I could change the device name but all is working now so I can finally start loading apps.
I know it's probably only me that had that little program but worth mentioning just in case someone else has a similar issue.

At last a solution that really works, thank you. I have been stuck for 48 hours trying to get the phone synced with Zune but it wasnt happening. For all of those that are stuck this is the solution. The Device Driver is the key.
Make sure you re-set the phone and re-start it and remember to re-install the certificate before attempting to update the drivers. Use the Device manager and the update button and all should be fine.
Zune will fire up automatically onec it has updated correctly and you can finish the process............mine went smoothly after overcoming this step.
Thanks again

my solution
A simple reinstall of the phone driver and the zune sw did it for me, in that order.

HD2 Leo not working on Zune
At last as stated, uninstalling LIBUSB.sys made my HD2 windows mobile 7 work with Zune. I am using windows 7 and all is syncing with HD2 and Leo. So if you people are having problems sync with Zune un-install LIBUSB.sys from your system.

Getting ADB working properly on myTouch3G Slide(5 simple steps)

These are the steps i used to set up my drive(may not work for everyone dont see why though)
I don't include a step for installing HTC Sync and its drivers as ADB only worked for me when the phone was on and in sync mode, also because the pdanet install wrote over them when i installed
1.Download pdanet for android Here(this will install the proper drivers)
2.Install Pdanet on comp no need for it on phone so if it fails dont worry. Have phone plugged in during install
3.Boot into hboot(vol dwn+power)
4.Boot into recovery(vol up+power to see menu)
5.Unplug phone then plug it back in
Make sure you have debugger on before going into recovery
Now you should see your device as Recovery when you adb devices in command.
If you see 2 devices try disabling(not unmounting) your usb mass storage and then upluggin and plugin the phone back in
I really appreciate it but...
Well i woke up this morning to this new thread, tried your EXACT 5 steps with deleting all traces of the old HTC SYNC drivers and software. Still a no go. The device STILL shows up twice and then disappears. Also disabled through DEVICE MANAGER the MY TOUCH SLIDE USB MOUNT. Unplugging and plugging back in does NOTHING. I am so sick of this it hurts. FOR THE LOVE OF ROOT PLEASE HELP ME TO FIND AN ACTUAL SOLUTION.
According to another person in the forum, another couple of steps need to be added here.
check the #3 post of the other adb thread for more details (I can't link yet :-( )
After installing the pdanet: install htc sync, download the sdk, then install latest drivers.
Then continue with the rest of the process
I haven't had a chance to try it, but thought I would share to see if it will help.
If it helps, we should prolly amend the first post here.

I believe you're talking about me. I would just point out that I was listing what I did, not nec the steps needed to get the phone to show up in adb devices. Its not clear you need to install pdanet or htc sync.
Both of those drivers let me see the phone in adb devices when it was on, let me issue commands like adb reboot recovery. But neither of those drivers ever had the phone show up except for briefly after clicking recovery from hboot and going away once the recovery triangle showed up.
Finally when I removed all traces of the device driver and installed the (r3) driver from the sdk. The next time I tried it, it worked out for me.
I think a lot of people are misreading the steps or being ham-fisted in their approach. This method is as much an art as it is a science at this point.
seek and you shall achieve.

I did the same thing you did and had the same problems you had. I went to try it on my laptop which is windows vista 64bit (pc is w7 64bit). I was still having the same problem, not detecting anything and it would show up twice or three times then disappear. I installed sync that comes stock with the SD card (I had sync from the HD2 installed). I already had PDANET installed on my laptop. Anyways having doing the same thing over and over which seemed to be half a million times it all the sudden worked. So it will "catch" sooner or later. Just keep doing it. As long as you have the proper sync installed and you dont have an error with you android 1 in the device manager then it will work sooner or later. I know its a MOFO, I've been doing it for 2 days stright now and just barly got it rooted.
Good Luck.
alas it was a no go for me
I havent changed anything with my ADB since it was setup for my G1 and I can still find the device and enter commands like "reboot". Does this mean that my ADB is setup correctly for my Slide?

[Q] Problem with HTC Magic Vodafone

Hi folks, I seem to be having a few problems with my Magic handset and after reading through all the threads and trying to install things on my laptop, I am now even more confused than when I first started!
The thing that started everything off was my auto rotate stopped working for no apparent reason. I hadn't installed any new apps or done anything to make it stop working. I tried a soft reset with no avail, and then did a full factory reset and still no auto rotate (even though it is ticked in settings).
Also I can't seem to connect the handset to my pc..... I have tried HTC sync, WMDC, and downloaded and installed the sdk thingy but it still won't connect, I am running Windows 7. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to install a new rom, get the pc to recognise the handset, and hopefully fix the auto rotate problem? (kinda hoping that the new rom will fix auto rotate)
I can access the sdcard when mounted in the phone so I can't understand why it wont connect to the phone.
I have usb debugging enabled etc, I have read that much I just dont get it anymore! I even thought of contacting Vodafone to see if they can do an update over the air, but don't know where to start. This is my 3rd HTC device but my first Android based one.
Is there anyone local to me that could help in anyway?
As you can probably tell I'm getting desperate now lol
Many thanks in advance
Bloo
Does the phone show up at all when you plug it in? Does the charging LED come on? If the answer to these questions is no, I'd try another cable, USB port or computer and if that fails I'd send it in for repairs.

Hi, thanks for the reply. When the phone is connected to the PC, it charges up, lights up and i can access the SDcard in the phone, but i cannot get HTC sync to find it and the sdk program i downloaded just confuses me. I am having problems installing the correct drivers for htc sync and sdk, everytime i try to update the driver, Windows7 tells me I already have the most up to date driver installed and wont let me change it to the one that is recommended in the guide!
I am currently uninstalling everything and starting over, Just about to re-install sdk and try to get the right drivers installed.
From what I have read so far, the accelerometer problem is likely to be a fault with the software and re-installing the rom might fix it, sounds easy on paper but in reality is proving difficult (very) I'll give it one more go and if that doesn't work then sod it, its back to windows mobile based devices for me!
update**
I have managed to get the serial number etc using the cmd prompt & sdk, followed the instructions on how to make a goldcard and copied the files required onto it.
in the guide it tells me to copy certain files into the root of the goldcard, is the root section just the bit you see when you open the card?
the reason i ask is that when i have inserted the goldcard back into the handset and powered up using vol - & pwr, hboot does not find the files, i just get a load of green writing saying file not found. what am i doing wrong?

Samsung vibrant usb problem...genius help need :(

Hello Guys...GretoVerno here fellow Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant Owner...
I have this phone and everytime i connect it to usb i Get the Message
"USB Device Not Recognized" error message...I have installed all the drivers i could possible find on the internet and the error still pops up...i ahve tried using the phone in USB Debugging mode to no avail what so ever...
Someone Please help if there's a genius out there...I really love this phone
Uninstall the Samsung drivers off your computer. Then reinstall make sure that have the correct version windows 32 bit or 64 bit for the correct operating format. Make sure you give admin rights to it. you can find these drivers in the Noob bible by S15274N in the Gen section. I am assuming there is not a problem with your phone. If you have a friend, check it on their computer, that's an easy way to rule out phone issues. That should resolve what ever problem you have.
There ia another way to check, that is have a friend with odin (or you) and see if Odin recognizes, if it does, then you got it solved or at the very least Odin back to stock and reinstall a new rom, this will solve all these issues as well.
Hope you get it, good luck
Had an issue with my brother in laws comp not recognizing his vibrant. Took an hour or two to get his phone recognized. I think we ended up using the drivers from pdanet instead of the official danny drivers. First try getting your phone to work on another comp. Will help narrow down the issue by 50%

Windows cannot recognize my vibrant!
Hopefully someone can help me out as I am having the
same problem with my computer not recognizing my phone.
The thing is that I am already running Froyo stock 2.2
and at the time I was able to update it to 2.2 my
computer recognized my phone without a problem. I have
been reading the forums for a while now and the only
time anyone had this problem was when they first bought
the phone when it was released but here is my problem.
After updating Kies mini and installing the official
Samsung drivers from the Samsung website I plug in the
phone and i get the error that windows does not
recognize the device. I have tried this on Windows Xp
and Windows 7 on 2 different laptops and got the same
error everytime. So what I did was while on Windows Xp I
uninstalled the unknown driver and I kept plugging and
unplugging the phone and uninstalling the unknown driver
until I got my computer to finally recognize my phone.
Once my computer recognized my phone I Then started
downloading the recent update, when the download was
done as soon as my phone went into download mode my
computer kicked out my phone and gave me the error that
windows does not recognize the device and at that time
Kies mini gave me the emergency recovery notice which I
didnt have to use because the phone booted fine without
fail.
You should also know that prior to the recent
update from tmobile for minor bug fixes I tried to root
my vibrant using the superoneclick root program. Upon
doing this after fighting with my vibrant and my laptop
to communicate with each other my computer recognized
the phone and I attempted to root. Then I got the
looping message and at that time windows did not
recognize my device which then messed up my modem and I
had to do a system restore. So after weeks of fustration
trying to root and now not able to downlaod the recent
update I am now asking for your help as XDA has been
there for us all. I have tried samsung drivers, kies mini
drivers and pdanet drivers and get the same windows
doesn't recognize my device everytime. Does anyone have
any ideas as what I can do to get my computer to
recognize my phone as I can not do anything until my
computer and my vibrant get along. Your help is greatly
appreciated XDA thanks for all that you do!
do you guys have Samsung kies installd??

You know that's the only thing that I haven't tried should I pick one up from T-Mobile or were should I get one?
I am getting the same error and i tried a buddy's cord and it still did the same thing. Not really sure what happened. My phone was working fine just a few days ago. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the large amount of Windows Updates that just happened.
Try uninstalling your drivers and install these. I had the same problem and then I used this and it has worked on every computer. Heck even worked when I hooked up my SGS2
http://www.multiupload.com/FUL878MTJH
I had the same issue. It is a phone problem and I had to get a warranty replacement. No combo of cables or drivers would fix mine.
Well after uninstalling and reinstalling, trying new drivers, restarting countless number of times, troubleshooting through the device manager, I had the genius idea to restart my phone in a last ditch effort before i gave up and it worked.
Now i feel somewhat like a dodo. Rule #1 - Restart

Well I tried those drivers from that link you provided and no dice. Im going to pick up a new usb cord from Tmobile tomorrow and see if that might be the problem. I can always use a 2nd cord for charging I guess.

That would be the logical next step.. just to verify, you have restarted the phone and computer since installing the drivers right? If you have then its most likely the cord. Its weird these cords seem to have been giving me problems more than any previously owned ones ie regular usb or even my amp cord which I step on and rip out the amp more than i'd like to admit

Makes sure that when you uninstall your drivers to restart your PC then reinstall and give a shot. Of course, also make sure you are using the right 64x or 86x driver.

[Q] HD2 WP7 NOT DETECTED by Zune or Windows

Hi guys sorry to post this but I've looked in over 5 threads and still no answer. My phone was working well just a couple of days ago. I was able to sync music and picture via Zune. But now Zune doesn't detect my phone. I tried going to device manager and updating the drivers as posted in other threads. But my phone doesn't show up anywhere. Not by Zune or device manager. HELP!!!! I went as far as having to reset my computer to factory settings and still no luck... Any suggestions?
which windows you have?
if you have XP you must reinstall ActiveSync
if you have Vista/Win7 you must reinstall WMDC
I have vista and I've already reinstalled WMDC
does your phone charge when you plug it in?
Is the cable OK ? Try it on another PC . Even without drivers installed it should charge
Yes it charges and everything it's just undetectable... i was however able to flash Ice Cream Sandwich, and the same problem occurs. The phone doesn't show up the its plugged up to a computer it just charges. No switch to USB or USB debugging option. Just charging. Could this be that maybe some of the internal hardware is damaged?
is always possible hardware malfunction but in almost all case problem is in windows drivers in ActiveSync/WMDC)
What i would do is to re install Zune and see if the phone is detected.
(Completely uninstall your current Zune and drivers first)
If that doesn't work i'd go back to a stock WM6.5 ROM and WMDC
Good luck
I've recently experienced the behavior you've mentioned, with both an HD2 and an HD7. I had look at the device manager, and it turned out the phone drivers did not load properly (error code 31).
I would advise you to update the phone drivers (which you can find within the portable devices section) and let windows search automatically for the most appropriate drivers.
For your reference, you should have a look at the following KB: support.microsoft .com/kb/2410180

If you mean the driver samsung for the pc , i am pretty sure its installed correctly. Before yesterday, i was flashed a several times my samsung. The interesting thing is, that the driver was installed properly only on this laptop with windows 7 x86
