[Q] Unable to change the Phone Ringtone - Flipout and Charm General

Hi All,
Wonder if someone can help me. I have tryed everything but the phone's ringtone for incoming calls is always the same s**ty sound...
Is/Has anyone had the same issue?
Thanks!
EDIT: After a few days strugling with this I found out that was the contacts software of backuo/restore that was causing this issue.

You can change it with root explorer.. just copy them from your sdcard folder to a /system/media like folder

.NOMEDIA - automatic file creation preventing ringtones to be played/seen

For some reason a ".nomedia" file is being created in my android root folder every time I reboot. I am using motoman's carbon 6 build with Hastarin 8.6 old camera kernel. I have over 200 apps on the phone so I don't know which one is the culprit. Has anyone experienced this before. it is a pain going back into all the contacts and adding the ringtones all over again AND deleting the .nomedia file. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, if you already have the same problem, look at:

[Q] Auto-deleting?

I've got a problem. I have just discovered that folder with all of my downloaded .apk files disappeared. Also some of my videos recorded with camera are gone. I have no idea when I would do that and also none of my friends were playing with my x8 so it's impossible that these files were deleted manually. That is the second time I've faced that problem so is it possible that something deletes my folders automatically/remotely?
Please help!

Ascending Ringtone Volume

Hello all,
I saw this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=759537 about how to disable this annoying feature, but i had some question that i guess are quite noobish...
I'm new with android, and for what I've seen in that thread, i guess my firmware is not deodexed, because it has the "Phone.odex"...
Another thing: when i tried to copy the Phone.apk to system/app folder it said i dont have permission, that it is read-only. My phone is rooted at least.
Can anyone help me with this please??
use root explorer. it mounts any folder as read/write state

[Q] How to get app sound?

Hi. I'm new here and i don't know if i'm posting this in the right place. I got the motorola milestone and got this app called scruff, when someone message you on there it plays a beautiful notification sound and i really want that sound as my main notification sound. i tried root explorer but i couldn't find the sound as a file.
Can you point me to the right direction? i'm sure theres has to be in somewhere but i don't know where exactly. If someone coulp help me i'd really aprecciate it!
Thanks in advance!!!
The required files are attached. You will have to convert them to ogg format and push it into /system/media/audio/notifications or create the same file structure ( media/audio/notifications ) on the sdcard and copy them there.
Thank you soooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rooted N7 custom ringtone help

Hi since I rooted my N7, I wanted to customize it more by adding custom ringtones, I put the ringtones in /system/media/audio/notifications & in /system/media/audio/ringtones with the help of ES File Explorer, but the ringtone files don't play(By don't play I mean I can select the ringtone from the apps settings and it shows up in the list of default ringtones but it doesn't make any sound). I've rebooted my N7 but still nothing. How do I solve this problem?
I should also mention that the ringtones are in ogg format and the names are as follows
Facebook Pop.ogg
Gmail Voice Call.ogg
Google Voice Ding.ogg
Hangout Ding.ogg
They do play with vlc on windows and with play music on N7. but just not when selected with the app or in ES File Explorer.
Oh I forgot to mention they do show up when selecting a notification/ringtone.
Any help will be most appreciated thanking in advance.
Should I clear some sort of cache? I read somewhere if you clear the system cache it solves the problem. But I don't know how to clear it from where.
Can somebody advice me on how to go about this? I've searched the forum and I can't seem to find any information on this subject, I know its would have been asked/discussed before.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
The standard place for adding custom tones are /sdcard/Alarms, /sdcard/Notifications and /sdcard/Ringtones
I'd put them in there, then they are available irrespective of what ROM you install.
As to your specific problem - check that you set the permission on the files properly when you copied them to /system/media
