Screen moisture - XPERIA X10 General

I'm not sure if this is a common problem across all touch screen phones or just the xperia but I find that if I get any moisture on the screen it becomes absolutely useless. If my hands get a bit sweaty the unlock screen just trips out and goes nuts, does anyone else have this issue?

Using the X10 in the rain

Im not sure if this is just me or if its everyone,
living in good old england i see more than my fair share of rain,
has anyone else had problems using the X10 in bad weather
as soon as even the smallest droplet of water lands on the screen the X10s touchscreen goes absolutely nuts for me, its pretty much impossible to navigate any menu's/contacts even swiping from homescreens is a chore
texting is absolutely impossible,
now i know i shouldnt really be texting in the rain anyway, but even slight drizzle kills off the phone
anyone else experienced this ?
Yea mate I'm in Scotland so worse lol. It's just the electric conductivity. Don't worry :-D

This will happen on ANY phone with a capacitive touchscreen (iPhone included). It's just one of the downsides of capacitive screens.
Lol read up on the differences between capacitive and resistive and you will understand.

I learned using a clear plastic bag, like a zip-lock, you can still use the touch screen. I dont think it will help with your problem, but atleast you can use your phone in the rain without worrying about destroying it.
Yea I noticed that on my X10. (my first touch phone)
I was about to enter my pin code and suddenly it went frenzy, I quickly turned the screen off before it got blocked
I never got that kind of a problem when using my X10 in a light drizzle a couple of days ago. I do have a screen protector film on my phone though. So that could have helped somewhat.

I am not sure what the prerequisite conditions are exactly as I often get splashes on my screen but often it makes no difference.
First time it happened to me I freaked until someone explained to me the difference in screen types.

hmm, that's funny but I guess I never used my X10 without the screen protector before. I have a Mirror screen protector (look it up on ebay) and I've used it out when it was drizzling before.
radio signals weaken with the rain, this affects phones, satellite tv, radio, etc
is just normal unless the reception in the UK sux

[Q] htc logo on back of phone

Hi all, the "h" from the htc logo on the back of my legend has come off. A trivial thing but annoying, it's now just an "h" shaped dent with a couple of glue holes. The metal "h" is now somewhere in Greater London
The phone's still under warranty but wondering if this was a common issue?
I have seen it before but not sure how common, try sending it back!
Well somebody already mentioned this problem. But his was the 'C'. Its not that common but it does happen.
I make up the trio - I've lost the 't' from the back of mine. It hasn't been through any major falls or anything so it's probably something they'd fix under warranty.
I've noticed mine sounds like there's something moving if I give it a fairly hard tap where the rubber around the camera is; I don't know if that's how it's always been though.
Crazy, I looked at mine after reading your post and I'm missing the h now as well. Wonder how long ago it fell off...

Yes! I've noticed that too since day one. The hell is it?

YEah I have that too; I think it's the AF lens?
It's the autofocus. Same "klick" as when it is focusing on cam app mode.

Fix for lack of screen response?

Has any one figure out why the screen be comes unresponsive when in a pocket or the likes? It never happens if its just sitting on a desk or something, only if I pull it out of my pocket. Almost seems like the screen gets too warm to register touch untill it has cooled off... Any ideas? Never seemed to happen to me with stock roms.

Re-calibrate the screen, cured mine. It is also suggested to put the streak in your pocket screen out so as to avoid the heat and moisture from your leg.

A suggestion:
If the device is sitting on a desk, then the camera is covered. If your camera is grabbing CPU then that appears to interfere with the unlock screen on some devices (well, mine at least!).
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13604352
I try not to leave the device facing my leg,if it is,just turn it....after unlocking the screen.
recalibrate the screen usually fix this issue. at least for me it did.

Glass lifting?

Hello,
I've started to notice that the glass on my Inspire 4G is making a slight snapping noise and moving a bit sometimes when I press on the corners, almost as if the glass is lifting slightly over time. Once I press the corners, it is fine for a few minutes, then I can do it again, hearing the snapping noises.
I want to root my phone and install RCMix HD, but I don't want to void my warranty if the glass is going to lift off my screen in a few months. Is anyone else seeing this issue?
Other than this and poor battery life, I absolutely love the phone. It's a HUGE improvement over the xdandroid experience on my Touch Pro 2.
Personally I'd get that sorted before you root. Get onto your network, or HTC if you bought it outright. Sounds like a materials defect, either the adhesive or glass. Let us know how you get on.
I believe I kind of have the same problem... but mine is when I press the top right of my screen it makes a clicking noise, I don't see any other movement in the screen it self, but yeah I haven't done anything to cause this issue.

I ended up replacing mine. The demo unit at the store did the same thing, and mine had gotten to the point where the glass was raised a good 1/16th of an inch. Seems to be a common issue with the Inspires and Desire HD's. I ended up replacing it with an atrix.
Sure hope it doesnt happen with mine Its protected by the otterbox defender though so its always keeping pressure on the phone.

Me too guys at the upper right corner..
Had this weird snapping in the top right corner myself. Suddenly all touch input stopped working. Got a replacement screen repair from my carrier.

Touchscreen sometimes goes apeshXX

I'm mostly satisfied with my Z1, but I frequently have a weird problem.
The touchscreen on the Z1 just goes crazy; it touches everywant it wants or touches wrong place.
My friend had a simliar problem with his Z Ultra and it got better when he took the infamous anti shatter flim out, so I tried that too, but it got worse.
Sadly, Sony service centers had no idea why it was happening.
Uhh... it makes me tired soooo hard.
unfortunately its a common thing but how much it does varies. I'm on my second phone and it doesn't do it as much as the first one did.
well i experience it sometimes.. cleaning the screen works for me and swiping apps from recent
put a new film (a good quality one) ASAP. my xz1 also goes crazy without ASF

I assume that you can edit a file to turn down the touch on the Z1 just like the Z-U. have a search in the Z-Ultra forum, I think the fix was posted by @hamdogg
Yeah like some other people said, clean the screen, finger oil/grease easily makes screen go mad, an example is if i play a game and the joystick on the screen just doesn't want to co-operate
Curious, it only happens occasionally when I plug in the magnetic charger. I foxed it by using the disable dock module on xposed framework.

I had the same with 257.... the issue disappeared when I updated to 290 and never came back (now on 136)
