Hi there,
I have a Palm Treo T850. I upgraded it with the 28014 ROM. It works pretty well, but the device hangs several times a day and I need to reset it every time.
Any info about that?
Thanks in advanced,
Wilson.
That sent me shock vibes buddy when I saw you mentioning 29XXX...lolz
Anyway I suggest you to change the radio along with its spl. Try changing the ROM if that doesn't help either.
same problem here...
it hangs, remains frozen on standby clock screen....
everything is OK when using stock 6.1rom
could it be related to mem card perhaps? i used it without mem card but with older 6.5rom - it worked without freezing...
i've just remembered that now
Mine doesnt have a memory card, and it crashes all the time - needing me to take out the battery - so that's not it.
Other 6.5 builds for me havent been functional in different ways so this one, other than freezing a few times a day - has been the most functional of the other builds on this forum. Crashes are annoying and sometimes I miss calls due to not knowing the phone has slept with the fish.
Its been a while since this one was out so I was hoping to see a new build or two to try and improve the reliability but nothing for the past month.

DisableSyncSchedule.cpf seems to work for me, thanks!
Hi everyone. I wanna tell you about something weird happening to my HD2 lately that’s really pissing me off. Every once in a while, when I wake up my device from standby or for instance after receiving a text, I’m not able to unlock my phone!! I try to move the slider all the way to the left or right, but the screen is totally unresponsive. It’s like my fingers aren’t touching the display at all.
I therefore turn the screen off and on again several times and eventually I happen to “resume” the screen sensitivity and reach the homepage. The phone is not frozen since it works fine when unlocked, just the screen.
Even more weird is the fact that if I remove the battery and restart the device, when I get to the PIN Code screen I’m still not able to enter any digit since the screen is still unresponsive and I have to do the whole display off/on routine several other times till it gets sensitive again. This problem is starting to happen more and more frequently and with several ROMs.
At first I thought it was rom related so I switched from “Miri v17.4” to “Energy June,11” and then to “HyperROM Ultimate v12”. Nothing, nada, zip. The problem still remains. Then I tried running Miri v17.5 with no extra apps installed, like BSB or CHT or whatever because I know sometimes programs can have incompatibilities with roms so I tried to keep it as stock as possible, but that didn’t solve the situation either.
I performed a “task 29 by doloop” between each flashing and tried many radios as well (2.10.50.28_2, 2.10.50.26, 2.11.50.20 and now I’m on 2.12.50.02_2).
I’m really desperate because I don’t know what’s causing this. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!
Sorry for the long post, I tried to describe this issue as accurately as possible.
Thanks.
Many people are having this problem. Many topics about it too, but no final solution.
In my case two things seemed to help: adjusting light settings (turn off automatic adjustment) and taking out SD card and putting it back in, and/or change the SD card to a faster one.
I even reflashed my phone and the problem persisted until I was finally able to put back a stable backup.
First off thanks for your reply. I just checked and automatic backlight adjustment is on. Are you saying this problem might however be ROM related? Some time ago when I was using MIRI v16 this problem occurred just a couple of times and I didn't give it too much attention. I was wondering if the touchscreen might be faulty and therefore in need of assistance..
I don't think it's ROM related, well at least not in my case. I didn't have any problems using stock ROM and an 8 GB card, until I bought a 16 GB card (the exact same day the problem occured for the first time, I just didn't realize it could have something to do with the card, until I read this forum and found my own post about the screen not being responsive dated May 3rd, the day I started using the card ).
I installed Cookie's Home Tab 1.8.5 (on my card) and the screen became unresponsive again and I had a lot of problems uninstalling it, because of that screen problem. So I did a hard reset and the problem still persisted, couldn't even use the wizard because the screen wouldn't respond.
I think it's a combination of hardware and software problems. Hardware meaning SD card and software meaning power settings (automatic light adjustment), maybe the way the software is written to the SD card, I don't know.
I've got it working now, but I'm a little afraid to do any more tweaks and I would very much like to use the light adjustment settings.
So I'm still testing and maybe some day I'll buy a new SD card class > 4. The 4GB card, class 6 seemed to help the last time I hard reset my phone.
Yeah I get your point but still I wonder why has this issue just happened to show recently. With the older ROMs everything was working fine and none of the above ever occurred.
That leads me to 2 conclusions:
1. Newer ROMs (mixed updated packages from different sources) are less compatible with the phone and thus create a new series of problems, mine included (just take a look at some of the latest rom changelogs to see for yourself what I mean). All of this not to mention the extra complications that programs such as CHT have caused..
2. The screen has became faulty. Maybe in the earlier phases the problem just happens occasionally and becomes more and more existent as the touchscreen module “degrades” (or something like that..)
Just yesterday I turned my phone on and the screen was unresponsive (I’m running miri v17.5). I tried removing the SD Card and disabling the auto backlight adjustment but none of these helped.
Anyway, here’s what I’m gonna do in the next days:
I’ll flash MIRI v16 which is a ROM I don’t remember having this particular problem with and I’ll see how it goes. Should the unresponsiveness occur again, I’ll go with a stock ROM (the one the phone came with).
If both of these tests fail then I’ll send it in for repair.
It goes without saying that I’m all ears for any advice/help you guys can give.
Thanks.

I did... It's working now...
1- Hello guys, I have an T-Mobile USA HD2. I love it but it freezes like crazy, 2-3 times a day if not more. I ran Task 29 to delete every possible trail of previous roms followed by a hard reset but nothing. It will still freeze.
2- I also have a lot of signal problems. Its constantly changing from 3G to Edge on the same location. I know that is not normal so I spoke to T-Mobile and they changed the SIM card but it will still change the signal back and forth. I re-flashed couple of radios but nothing, I only accomplished to drain more battery.
3- BSB Tweaks is an awesome app but there are issues with the Rotation Option. If I enable Rotation to the "Start" -> "home screen" the photo album and music will be affected because the already come with landscape support. I tried to disable the landscape support for these using a registry editor but did not find a way.
Is there any solutions for these problems? Any help will be very much appreciated, not only from be but as well from others with the same or similar problems. Thanks in advance to all of you.
Note: I noticed the recently released TMUSA HD2s come with a yellow reset button. I bought my back on March when they sold out Nation wide with in the firs 4 hours and it comes with a RED reset button. This might explain a lot. If you know something please share. Thanks!
I would like to know if there is help for freezing issue.
I also did Task 29, flashed few different radios, few different roms incoluding stock, and it still happens. If my phone freezes I have to try for 20 minutes to restart it, as it hangs everywhere starting with bootloader, to manila.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
I had a similar issue as well and it turned out to be a cab file I had installed that was not compatible for my ROM. I had to go through and isolate which cab it was by using the date it was added and when I noticed the issues.
When your phones freeze....does it do it radomly or while trying to access or carry out anything specific. Your problem could be caused by any number of reasons but giving as much detail regarding your problem keeps you from getting so frustrated trying all sorts of fixes. Out of curiosity what ROM's are you both currently running?
I am currently using Elegancia ROM from August 23. Before I was using Energy ROM. I tried newest, stock Rom for T-Mobile HD2 but it didn't solve the issue.
I tried reinstalling HSPL, but it didn't help either.
The problem started after I put Ubuntu 0.2 on my sd card. I was playing with it for a little and it suddenly rebooted my HD2. I though, OK, no big deal, it's just in infant stage.
So I booted Windows again (energy rom with 2.12 radio) but it hanged while Sense was loading. I wasn't able to get it back to life after few reboots so I did a hard reset (vol up/down power on) It worked fine.
My problem mostly happens when I run android and when it reboots for some reason I can't get back to windows. It hangs, sometimes it hangs on bootloader before it even shows me radio and data version!! sometimes it goes past bootloader and hangs right after sense launches, and sometimes it is perfectly fine.
It also seems that when I just use WinMo it is fine, I can power down, and soft reset without major issues. But after running android I get that issues, especially when Android crushes.
I am thinking that android may be corrupting some WinMo files, but how is that possible? Android doesn't have access to NAND so technically it shouldn't prevent WinMo from booting on bootloader level.
Please let me know if you need me to explain more.
Thanks for your help

PS. I don't have any custom cabs installed at this point. I have super fresh and clean installation of elegancia rom
Yeah...Android may be the culprit. I have shyed away from trying it because I have talked to quite a few people (not on XDA) that have tried it on the HD2 and they have the same issues. The Android OS really makes the HD2 unstable. I personally am going to hold off on the Android bandwagon until a little more time passes, after all WinMo works just fine for me. Try just running on WinMo and see what happens. Based on what you have said, it runs fine as long as you are not using Android
yeah, it's is good idea to stay away for some time. But Android development needs testers. If no one is willing to test than there will be no improvement.
What I can't understand is that even after I do hard reset I still get freezes.

Yeah I agree with you on Android development needing testers. I do rely on my phone a lot for work purposes and I can't always afford to have the phone freezing up constantly.
Are you hard re-setting with the Android OS still installed?
Technically it is still installed but it is only present on the SD Card, and not anywhere else so it shouldn't matter. Next time I get freeze I will try to remove SD Card before hard resetting.
I tried booting few times with SD Card taken out, but it didn't help.

I have the same issue...i'm using energy rom and i noticed that lately its freezing like hell...at least twice a day...!! NRGZ already notice the freezing issue and is trying to solve it...but it still crashes. I'm constantly changing the rom as he updates...and right now i'm running the August 25.
Sometimes it crashes while being turned off...and i need to take the battery off to restart.
I had the same issue, all i did loaded a diff rom and formatted my sim card problem solved
I did format my SD Card many times. Did not help. I used recommended FAT32.
Yesterday my phone froze when I was trying to add program shortcut to Sense... silly.
I rebooted phone, it booted fine, but hang as soon as I went to check my TXT messages. Rebooted again and it is working fine until now.
I currently have Elegancia ROM with 2.12.50 radio, have not been using android for couple of days, but it is still there on my SD Card.
It is getting a bit frustrating. I wonder what else I can try to make it stop freezing.

My phone rebooted again yesterday.
I couldn't boot to windows for the next 20 minutes... I tried about 10 times before it worked. 2 or 3 times it booted windows and froze as soon as I clicked on one of sense tabs.
I haven't played with Android for past week and the freezing problem is still an issue. I even removed andorid form my SD Card.
When all this happened I was just using skyfire to browse internet.
I am hopeless at this point. I have no idea what else I could try to make it stop rebooting and freeezing.
Any ideas?? I would greatly appreciate any help.
PS. I recently found a thread about a tool that searches for corrupt files on Android devices after clean flash, is there something similar available for WinMo?
Here is the thread I am talking about:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/fixflash-rom-flash-verify-and-repair-tool/
screen doesn't respond to touch
I just started having this issue today. I have used darkstones most recent build from the 18th. it has worked perfectly till today. I use energy roms. i just installed a older rom today still have the same problem. this problem appears weither in droid or winmo. All the hard keys still function and the phone can receive calls. Thanks for any help you may be to lend.
my phone just froze again.
All I did was take it out of my pocket and unlock screen, and there it is: FREEZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Funny thing is that Android doesn't freeze for me... it crashes sometimes, but never freezes. It is only WinMo that freezes on me or doesn't boot. Android always boots.
I really wish the NAND was accessible so I could flash Android to NAND and forget about WinMo

you, me and 17,000+ HD2 owners are all wishing for that exact thing
Your issue with the freezing/rebooting is stumping me too. You've flashed different ROM's, including stock, done hard resets, checked the battery pins, reformatted the SD card and even tried running the phone without the SD card inserted...do I have all that right? The fact that it doesn't show the symptoms when running Android just makes it that much more mysterious. I'd say it all points to a hardware issue, but if it doesn't act that way when you're in Android, that (probably) shoots that theory out of the water. But, at the same time, running task 29 and reflashing different ROM's should also have eliminated any possible software-based causes, so....
the only thing that comes to my mind is micro SIM card. I did an upgrade on my ATT account to get iPhone (traded for HD2) and those fu...ers at ATT wouldn't let me keep my regular sized SIM card. I had to use my old SIM card and cut it's inside to place micro sim in it. I used a regular sied SIM to hold micro SIM in place.
I don't think however that this is a problem because I believe my phone froze few times before I did that SIM card swap besides, I have no issues with phone calls or reception both in Android or WinMo.
I am clueless at this point.
I just got another Android version and will try it to see how it works. If I have any problems I will try using my wive's SIM card to see if it helps with freezing and WinMo booting.

EDIT: ANDROID just rebooted itself. 2 minutes after clean installation. geee, I am leaning towards Hardware being the issue.
What I did is:
1. open browser
2. go to google
3. search for speedtest
4. open speedtest.net
and Android rebooted itself and now my phone can't go past Tmobile bootloader logo (pink square with 'stick together' letters)
I will put different SIM inside now and try everything again

Good call, that's about the only other thing to try. However....have you tried running WM with sense disabled, to see if it still has the freezing/rebooting issues? That might at least narrow the problem down to something sense-related (which is easily the most common cause of any software-related issue on this phone)

I have NOT tried that but I will. The problem is that I often can't get past bootloader logo...
I modified my post above so please read it (I mentioned Android crashing)
thanks for all your suggestions
I just tried different SIM card. Phone booted fine to WinMo, and froze as soon as I clicked on Messaging tab in sense.
I will try to disable Sense for now.
I disabled Sense, rebooted WinMo launched Android repeated operation of trying to get to speedtest. Site launched, but phone rebooted after a while.
I am getting to conclusion that some software including flash causes my phone to reboot and then I can't get it to boot again..
Right now my phone is stuck again on bootloader. I already tried rebooting twice.
What I noticed is that every time my phone freezes it gets a little warmer in the lower left corner
What hardware is located in that area?
First of all I know screen freezing is a common problem that's not solved yet, but I really can't hold it any any any any more...
I got my HD2 just several days before(not t-mobile edition), now I'm using mattc 1.6b with 2.12 radio. Already replaced the original PPP with RMNET.
I don't know how about your situation, but my screen freezes about every 5 minutes, about 20 seconds a time, and if I turned my GPRS on(I'm not using 3G yet), it freezes almost EVERY 5 SECONDS... It's crazy
I can barely use my HD2 now, if there is no network connection, what could I do? I really don't know how to do, could somebody give me any advices?
It's a well known issue related to the G-Sensor. I can only recommend turning off screen rotation and trying other Android builds.
Edit: Here's a good thread to look at too, maybe one of these solutions might help you out. (link)
Thanks a lot, I'll try it.
try to boot the andoird as soon as you boot the WM it did help me or that issue
I was experiencing freezes with chunky droid, last night I changed to the latest vbn rom (full rom) (says he cooked in the power and performance tweaks) booted it calibrated g sensor, booted android no more screen freezes.. Using mattc 1.5c.. I didn't change my andoid rom..
Sent from my HTC HD2 Android
I am using the same rom. Infact the last few roms I tried I never experienced screen freeze - it works seamlesslessy perfect. It could be your SD card. Reformat it and reflash again
all the advice you need is in the thread for your build ...i promise

Reformat ur sdcard with SDFormatter V2.0, will solve ur problem...
remove the setCPU app and disable screen rotatation if you don't use it, i have no screen freeze at all after that
Yea. The setcpu gave me a lot of freezes too...
ok screen freezes is a known issue, and we do not need another thread on it.
Peace,

I'm experiencing avery annoying problem with my phone. It's been happening for some time now, and I've tried all sorts of different things to fix it.
The phone completely randomly restarts, or just powers off totally. This happens at least a few times a day on average, and sometimes has a crazy spurt where it restarts itself like, 5 times in an hour. This is very annoying when I get my phone out to check if I have any texts, and it's totally dead or sat on the ChuckyDroid Winmo screen. People text me 3 hours later, asking why I didn't reply to their messages, or they have been trying to ring me!
I have tried everything I can think of. I have tried at least 10 different Android ROMS, and a few different Winmo ROMS. I have tried every radio from 2.08.x to 2.15.x and I have also Task29'd the phone, then started afresh. It still does it.
Any got any ideas what could be causing it? Is it possible it's a faulty battery? I am beginning to think this as it never seems to do it if I have the phone plugged into charge, either from USB or mains. If people think the battery is probably knackered, I'll go onto Fleabay and buy a new one, but I don't want to do this if people don't think that's the issue.
Thanks in advance... I hope people can help, as this issue is totally unworkable for me.
Cheers
That doesn't seem like a battery issue to me, rather SD related.
As you have already tried about everything: full formatting your SD card should fix it. There are some more advanced ways of formatting, in case the Windows (full! not the default quick) format still doesn't do the trick.
Hm.. I'm pretty sure I've run a full format of the SD card before, but I'll certainly do it again when I get in and test out the theory.
Thanks for your reply mate
I also had this problem(s) with Froyo... suddenly my phone rebooted...
However.. since i'm on Gingerbread... the problem didn't occur anymore..
Maybe you can try a Gingerbread build to see if the problems still occur...
I can give that a try too. I know there's a lot still to be worked on the Gingerbread build, but if it's more stable then that's good.
The MDJ Gingerbread build is pretty stable.
Well, thanks for your efforts guys, but no joy. I full formatted the SD, flashed 2.15.50 to my phone, then ran MDJ Gingerbread... I think it lasted about 4-5 hours before it started restarting itself again. So screw this, I'm going back to Winmo until NAND is ready. Winmo might be crap, but at least it's reliable. Totally pissed off now, to be honest.
