[Q] what next?

hey guys im running the darkstone fryoy series from gamesquare.co.uk and i sometimes get the s.o.d and i dont have audio problems but i do have the 3g problem what should i do?

That is a question that should be on the Android Development side, and there is also a new Android Q&A thread over there

Operating the new build as well. Found that s.o.d only happens when you us a live wallpaper and if u leave ur device connected to WiFi. I have run the build now for a week without having to hard reset. So test and see if it works for you.

Going Back to desire HD?! Custom roms on Telus?

Long story short, I had the uk desire HD and loved it. My only complaint was the washed out photos and 2g service...(rogers)
But now Telus has launched their new hspa network in winnipeg.... so I could have it again in its full glory.....
I am on my phone right now (2g) so I can't research much...
How are the latest roms and kernels?
Any gingerbread ports yet?

latest kernals are incredible - super battery life with such smoothness
Id try android revolution HD rom or if your looking for gingerbread, CM7 RC1 was just released for the DHD

The Telus device appears to have different audio chipset, so current custom ROM's are resulting in the loss of sound to your device, which being a phone is currently a bit of a show stopper bug

whoa, this is horrible news.... and lame all at the same time.... so no one has a telus device, working properly? Sounds like a simple driver tweak, but I am no developer....
I was about to flash my dhd tonight, and it was one of the main reasons I picked it over the iphone 4..... this could be a short lived purchase.
Also, is it ALL sound? The handset won't even work? /cries

If you look through the "no sound" thread you will see a fellow member wrote a new kernel allowing you to use different roms. Im about to try revolution hd myself right now.
Is that you kakarot from Redflag? you and your phones
Or if you want to stick with stock for now without any other kernels, you can downgrade using the "downgrade from 1.8x/1.72" thread and make a gold card and go to town. Then search for the "randroid" telus rooted 1.84 rom.

ahahha, yes it is me.... lol, my phone issue is getting much worse it seems... as I now have 2 nice phones on 2 different companies....
are they "specific" roms only that have this fix? any links appreciated. thx again....
I am not a big fan of stock, I like to root/unlock/flash/custom/kernels... I had the desire hd uk version, but got tired of 2g.... thought I would do the telus one because of the new hspa network (which so far, the upload is amazing, but download is pretty darn average).

search for the "raidroid telus rom" and use that one for now. You can use the revolution rom and use the Telus kernel.
Trust me, it works with either of them. Until the source gets released (prob next week) thats all we have for now (which is quite a bit for a new phone)

Yea, Thx. I tried it but the sound was horrible....so now I am on the stock one.... I need more flashing, Hahaha..... I'm on tells but my rogers works as well.

Has anyone had a problem where after flashing your telus sim could not connect to the thelus network?
i have rooted and s-off and eng s-off. downgraded worked fine obviously. had the no sound problem but telus sim still worked. after flashing to a different ROM my telus sim no longer works in my DHD. seems to work with rogers and bell though. my sim also works in other DHD's but not mine.
any help is greatly appreciated!

[q] help hsdpa speed

First of all, good evening to you all and thanks for any explanations.
I have the following problem, until yesterday I installed the following Roma Android Revolution HD 5.1.9, kernel MDJ V22, radio and the respective RIL 04.11_M2 and my download maximum HSDPA coverage has never exceeded 3Mbps.
Today I installed the rom Dogma V3, V22, and keeping the kernel MDJ radio / ril 04.11_M2, suddenly my download is up to 6Mbps aumenteto ??????
I then rebuilt a complete wipe and reinstall another rom but nothing to do with all my rom is slow while HSDPA Dogma no!
Does anyone know give me an explanation on this?
Dhd I use often as a modem connected to your PC and the download speed is very important for me and I would also like to keep the Android Revolution HD

I think it's a problem of any energy savings that reduce the performance
3g signal because I have also noticed that the rom Dogma also has a better signal reception and slightly more stable.
The problem is that with this rom difficult to arrive at night with my use while ARHD get there safely.

Not every ROM/RIL/Radio combination is compatible with all carriers, I think you are just unlucky that ARHD rom with its RIL/Radio combination doesn't suit your carrier.
I would suggest going to ARHD team IRC channel and see if they can help you, they are very helpful people.
But maybe that you cannot use that ROM with your carrier

I'm not sure if this helps but i've written a thread aboit hsdpa speed improvements a few months ago.
I don't have the link atm but search for "speed up data connection" here in the DHD general forum. I hope you find my thread with this keywords. If not, I'll search the link on my pc and post it here.

My friend you're great, I found your post and I solved the problem, now runs ARHD HSDPA.
I copied the exact parameters Dogma and you're done.

TCL / Alcatel idol x keeps going into roaming mode

Hi
I have a tcl idol x with an Italian alcatel idol x ROM installed (android 4.2.2). The ROM seems to be okay, but my phone keeps saying im roaming, with a little R above the signal bars. Even if i disable roaming, it enables itself.
I do not know much about network and sim card related stuff so any help would be great, im based in the uk and on t-mobile or EE, thanks

Thanks, i think it is because i am on EE, it keeps switching from EE to T-Mobile Orange, all the same company, im not sure why my phone keeps this as roaming but its really annoying as im always loosing a data connection, thanks,

no sim card can not use wifi

Hello ,
ive flashed the pixel 8.01 i believe rom a while ago , very buggy not happy with it about to flash havoc OS9 when it finished downloading.
Q i pull my sim to put into my other phone alot , when i do this my moto g 5s plus will not let me use wifi at all. I know i can hack it to allow this i just dont know what to do can someone point me to a tut or post that has the instructions so i can get this done? this phone is utterly useless to me. I work in a metal box, i only have an old 3g booster with hspa plus my old note 3 hot spots way faster than the moto so i use the note 3 to hotspot but i then cant use my moto cause the wifi wont bloody turn on cause theres no bloody sim card.
how to fix ?

yea that was super helpful , i searched and this is where XDA phone search dropped me , so maybe these two devices are super close together, if there is a S forum a link or a move would have been more helpful

same problem , where do i go in this phone to fix it ? mysql database mod ? edit some lines somewhere ???? im pretty sure these two devices are close enough that a general idea would put me close enough to figure it out ,
