OSF vs HTC Wildfire - Blade General

hello all
i,m undecided with either OSF or wildfire, i can see the main advantage is bigger and better screen then the wildfire, apart from that is there anything else?
can i use the net from a different provider on the OSF?
any opionions on this would be appreciated to help me decide
and not bothered about camera, rooting, mainly used for net browsing, calls, texts and battery time is also a factor.
thanks

wildfire has lower resolution so it isn't very good for net browsing but has a smaller screen so battery life should be longer

It's honestly not a decision.
San Francisco. No question!
Better in every way (not camera).

Having set up both with practically same setup have to say the ZTE-Blade is far better, regards speed, screen space, graphics... camera's haven't checked but every HTC device have owned the camera is whak so never been a bigee when buying a smartphone.

OSF
I sold my iphone on Friday & picked up a San fransico today. Been playing with it a few hours n I have to say for £99 it's awesome! I'm using it on giffgaff, unlocked it with a free code from a certain website (google it), took about 2 mins!
I played with a wildfire & didn't think much of the small screen, plus certain games like angry birds don't work due to the lower resolution. AB seems fine on the osf.
So yeah, get the osf!

The GPU on the SF makes it the better choice if you fancy playing games etc.

OSF has better hadware specs but Wildfire has much better build quality and software interface. I have the OSF which is a good stop gap but seriously lacking a good ROM although that should hopefully change soon with official 2.2 leaks that's come through in the last 24hrs..... but the wildfire is a pretty good stable device!

thanks a lot for all your replies, my biggest issue nnow is i,m not sure on what rom to use TBH, but this is news to me about the official 2.2, is there any info on it yet?
also any opionion on what the best in terms of reliablity and with all fixes and similar to htc interface (htc clock and weather widegt - fancy widget i think etc)?
thanks

Probably, there wont be any official 2.2, though there is plenty of roms which have 2.2 in it.
I'd personally recommend "Japanese Jellyfish" wich is a really great ROM who have been working really good on my Blade.

thanks a lot, how about eclair 2.1, is there a decent stable version, dont need a singing and dancing rom, just stable with all important fixes and not a battery killer
thanks

ROM in Sig can be found on there forum along with a sweet black theme

If you're after stability and great interface (Sense UI) without messing about and supportability, the wildfire wins hands down.

Ive been using Sebastian's roms since v3. Excellent, stable rooms with good battery life and available in lite or full feature.
Latest one is called "r8_update_de-orangeated_blade_signed.zip" if you want to search for it.

OSF hands down mauls the wildfire. Out of all the HTC Phones, the Wildfire is the phone that i hate the most. I was one of the forst people to be using HTC'S (since the days of the XDA himalaya) All my friends would say it was crap. then now they all get the wildfire and try to compare it against my TG01 and OSF. one of my friends who owns a wildfire even said it was better than my Galaxy Tab, because it was smaller and 'quicker'.
the wildfire is a phone that i would happily smash to pieces..
No doubt the OSF is better than the wildfire in everyway. .
- faster CPU
- better screen
- more RAM
- nicer design.
- DOESN'T PISS ME OFF!
haha, thanks

Considering it's previously been said that the Wildfire, due to it's low resolution screen, doesn't support a large majority of apps, the "supportability" of the Wildfire you claim is questionable, no, ridiculous. The SF supports far more things.

legend worth it to skip desire?

asking few questions to legend owner.
between legend and desire, i'm leaning towards legend because of its design.
but snapdragon on desire sounds very tempting...
what do you say legend users? do you experience any lag because of lack of cpu or ram compare to desire?
The desire is more powerful but don't forget that its screen has a higher resolution, in other words it needs more power...
Why I've chosen the legend over the desire?
- First of all the legend has a much better finish than the desire, that looks too "nerd" for me. It looks more like a small computer than a cell phone..
- The legend is very smooth and do not really need more power
-The legend can almost do everything the desire can do but with a better pocket size.
- With a 3,2 screen instead of 3,7 screen, and a worse processor, it think the battery is better.
However, you should take the desire if:
- You really want to watch videos on your device
- You like playing a lot with your device because i think that games are going to require more and more config to run...
Look at the price for both desire & legend, its nearly the same: there is no best phone between them...
=> The legend has one of the best design for a smartphone
=> The desire is the more powerful
Allow me to offer a few pointers. I've got both devices. Desire for myself and the Legend for my wife.
Performance-wise, there's no doubt the Desire edges out the Legend. But the Legend is not 40% slower as the CPU clockspeeds may suggest. You'll encounter the occasional hiccup with the Legend when compared to the Desire, but you probably won't notice it unless you have both devices like I do. I would call this round a draw.
Aesthetically, it's very subjective. When you pull your Legend out, people will be drawn to the aluminum unibody enclosure. When you pull your Desire out, people will be drawn to the large 3.7" screen. I think the Legend looks nicer, but the Desire is in no way "geeky". It looks better in real life than on photos/videos. I'd describe it as more sophisticated looking while the Legend is more sexy.
Surely, you've read/seen reviews of both. See here for my review on the Desire and here for my review on the Legend. I tried to only put down things that were not mentioned or covered extensively by others. And I mentioned a couple of differences that may or may not matter to you.
Personally, I think it comes down to your screen/device size preference.
every time I pull out my legend I always get asked about it. it stands out from the crowd especially being in a country where you cannot buy it in store.
as for lag on the legend, it gets a little bit of lag if you quickly switch between lots of applications but other than that its fine
also if lag is a problem then disabling HTC sense is always an option but then you are limited to 3 home screens
it is a very good looking device tho.

big help from all of you guys......love the look of legend and i think i will go with legend instead of desire unless htc decides to make a legend looking phone with snapdragon processor
i think you will be very happy with it , especially once it is rooted and we can save apps to the sdcard :

Everytime I pull out my Legend in public I get a fine for indecent exposure. But that's for a different forum.
I love my Desire both how it looks and how it performs. Just needs a better battery to really make it the best phone period.
I haven't touched the Desire, so I can only write about the Legend.
In my own opinion:
The Legend looks GREAT, ATTRACTIVE & CLEAN design, & feels SOLID. I get so much compliments about the phone, even old folks, who don't care about phones, think the my phone is very nice looking.
However, the sharp edge on top of the earpiece sometimes hurts my ear.
It performs very well & smooth.
I use the phone MAINLY for calls & text messages. & I don't play & care for games on the phone. Therefore, the Legend's SIZE is PERFECT for me.
The phone has GREAT audio quality, which is nice & clear, & has good battery life.
I read somewhere that says because of the Legend's aluminum case, it doesn't get excellent signal. However, the reception has not let me down yet.
I'm also using HTC Touch Diamond 2, & HTC HD. My house has really bad signal & I have NO PROBLEMS with the Legend, whereas the other 2 get drop calls constantly.
It has 4 plastic buttons that feel REALLY CHEAP. You'll be disappointed with these buttons.
It has some other Cons, but you'll get that with the Desire too, so I won't go there.
I think you should also go to the Desire's board & ask what they like & dislike about the Desire & then make your own decision.
For now, I'm keeping the Legend until I can find a phone suitable for my need.
Cheers,
D
yeah the only real problem with it are the cheap feeling buttons which is a shame but the rest is of a very high quality
legend or desire
i have used nexus one before i got my legend. speed-wise, nexus one is no doubt faster than hero. but when i used legend, it's almost as smooth as the nexus one. also, when you install a lot of apps or put a lot of widgets in the homescreen, there's a tendency to lag. after using the nexus one for 2 months, i would say i like the legend more compared to nexus one. sorry im comparing legend with nexus one instead of desire. they both have the same specs anyway, well majority.

Agreed, traded my nexus for the Legend.
It's a bit slower but nothing that ruins the Android experience. It's till very quick.

nexus one being almost identical to desire, every piece of info helps! thanks
... and something important too: Nexus one is due to be the "first in class" android, so is the most expensive one. Desire is cheaper than Nexus one to avoid confusions in the market. Legend need to be cheaper than Desire due to processor speed. I believe Legend would be more expensive if Nexus and Desire would not be available in the market. So, Legend has a competitive price with an excellent hardware and software configuration.
no doubt you are right. Best device I ever had

week with legend
I been using Legend just about a week.. first phone ever that don't make any kind of hardware sound.. almost every phone that I had and tested even with HD2.. make those hardware movement noise.. this phone is rock solid.. by the look and design.. it's phone, fit in ur hand perfect.. one of the best sound quality phone that I had.. HTC sense and Android.. sense work great.. since this is my first android phone.. I can't tell much about it..I used my bro's Hero about a week. Legend is much faster.. here in US.. 3G service don't work.. but even with Edge,, it's much faster and smoother internet experience than any other phone that I had or tested.. only thing that I don't like about the hardware is the 4button key.. I wish HTC made this with capacitive touch key like the Nexus one or touch HD..
buy the Legend.. it's cheaper than Desire.. also more phone factor than Desire..
if u need super PDA+ huge phone.. buy the Desire..
LOL.. just buy either one.. u'll like it anyhow..

I have used google nexus one and legend (I dumped the nexus one in favour of the legend).
i challenge anyone to say there is a difference in speed
the 7227 is a much improved cpu over the hero/touch pro 2/diamond 2 one etc.
its not just the speed.
I think the cpu is a side issue
the real difference between these two is just the screen resolution.
my 2 cents:
1. most android apps just scale up, so actually look worse on 800x480 (no doubt will get better)
2. you can't actually browse at 800x480 on such a small screen, so its benefit is mostly in smoothing
3. 480x320 video will be smoother. very little the human will gain over 800x480 at this size and 320x480 video files will be smaller.
4. 800x480 screeen uses slightly more battery
5. lower resolutions are here to stay, e.g. HTC Tatto, Sony X10 Mini, etc. only have 240x320 !!!
In summary, whilst 800x480 would be theoretically nicer to have, it makes no difference to me at the moment. the biggest thing I wanted was amoled, which I have got.
You will LOVE the Legend. Its a keeper.
I've got the Legend, because my X10 got swiped.
(Risking OT Compared to the X10, the Legend is much smoother.
However, for me, I may consider the Desire strongly, but simply because I am using a Mac and that the WiFi teether on the Desire makes things a snap for me, especially when I am out of the office.
But otherwise, I do agree that the Legend is a keeper... maybe I'll hand it over to the wife, or to one of my kids.
legend looks super awesome in comparison to the staid desire ..
i want to thank everyone on the great informative reply. i just ordered mine at htcperida can't wait to play with this bad boy!! once again, thanks a lot everyone!!!!

Should I buy an X10

I have fallen in love with the X10 since it was leaked last year. Its the only phone I think the ui is sexy. I have a mytouch slide I like it but wouldn't mind an X10 for a while. I have dug thru the forums for this phone and I see it has some issues and I don't see any roms for it yet. Since I'm on tmo usa I will have to wait for a unlocked phone to come about. My questions are:
how is the performance?
Are there really that many issues or are a few select people having problems?
And are there any devs on working on this phone?
I know the update to 2.1 is taking awhile cause the ui and I don't expect sony to give it froyo but maybe some dev will. Thanks guys.

yes there are issues with X10 now but you can wait until update, at present it has 1.6 android which is out of date buit soon sony Xperia X10 is getting 2.1
you should wait until then and if you can not wait then its better to go for motorola droid x or desire they both are good phones with good screens, multitouch ( for games etc ) and good call volumes latest android

Frankly speaking X10 is not as good as it was 2 months back........back then there were no option, now you have better alternatives.....starting with Galaxy s,Droid 2 ,Droid X and whole lot lot of bunch
P.S If you really want to stand out from the crowd get a White X10
Every phone with its weakness, X10 with low call volume(ok for me),1.6 OS, no MT(not needed for me),but the others have their issue too just like the Samsung Galaxy with the GPS signal(losing it).
So if you can live with the X10's so called ''problems'' it is a great device,if not then buy something else.
Can't say the other phone doesn't have issue either.
everything have feature that other phone doesn't. I personally don't see xperia 10 is behind on other phones because it is using a personalized android 1.6 vs 2.2 which have nothing desirable for me.
the 3 major feature you will miss are
720 recording - which i am sure you can live without it.
16 million colour - once again, my eyes can't tell the differences. that well to even brother.
flash - xperia 10 can watch flash enable media ( can watch flash movie @ tudou.com) but can't use them (as menu or web content) with skyfire.
i have no idea why that akshay insist it have low call volumne, i think his phone is busted or he got 1 of those millionth faulty one. I personally have no problem calling out or hearing people talks on my phone unless i am in an heavy noisy area that i can't even hear someone shout @ 1M away.
There are app that can hack your speaker i think if you rooted on the market.
Mind you, if you compare the latest phone you will only found them having
1. 2.1 or 2.2 soon
2. a front camera for video conference, (i live in canada, no one use smart phone with front camera here)
3. larger screen by 0.1 inch
4. 16 million color but worser camera.
5. If you didn't know 90% of those phone can't use under bright sun, but guess what, Xperia 10 CAN.
6. they are all "black", but mine is WHITE and have great design http://seinsider.com/?p=2525 If i will find a way to get one of those later and show off.
7. I like sony, i like having a sony brivia x2, sony ps3, a sony BR, a sony dog, and ...no i don't like sony laptops.
If you are like me that like the design and the white X10 when I first saw the pics of it last November, then I say, go for it. When it came out of the market last March, I said to myself, I'll wait for it to get the latest Android 2.1 and buy it. Big Mistake! I was not satisfied with the other phone that I bought, so after three months of using that phone, I got bored with it, and finally bought X10. Now, I'm using the X10 only, and only once in a while, use the other one. I can never be happier...
Thanks for all the replies. Glad to see people are happy with the phone. 1.6 is not a deal breaker for me. And yes if I buy one definitely the white one has my eye. I can careless for froyo cause I had froyo on my mytouch slide. Nothing I won't miss. I think I will head to a at&t store and play with one. Thanks for the link awesome shells. Anymore thoughts are welcomed.

I have the White X10i, its been great for me so far! The battery life is really good, the camera is awesome and the interface is a pleasure to use!
In regards to the 2.1 update that we are all longing after so much, the only thing I would really embrace with open arms is the ability to record video in 720p!.
just fyi in case you missed it, the X10i has 3G banding for T-Mobile, and the X10a has the banding for AT&T. Also I thought AT&T is only selling the black version? So from what I understand you want, you should buy an unlocked white X10i off the net.
X10 is great, best looking phone on the market and best camera in an Android phone. Screen resolution is awesome, videos etc are not as vibrant as AMOLED or Super AMOLED screen sure, but text is sharper and being usable in sunlight is a huge plus. For Canadians I think it's the best overall Android option still, you guys have a lot more choices down south and I can't say the same. Froyo is huge regardless of your experience, SE has done a lot to make 1.6 good, but it's shoddy customization isn't enough at this point in the game compared to all the 2.2 offerings on the market now.
If I were you I would wait a few more weeks until you know what that big HSPA+ device for T-Mo is before making any big purchases

With gadgetry it's unpossible to form an opinion just by reading specs and reviews. When you look at the specs of the X10 it's a good phone, when you look at the software versions it's a poor phone. But the most important part, the feel, you'll have to find out yourself.
When I replaced my iPhone with my X10 I was a "smart shopper" and tried out many different devices, usually I just grab what looks cool. My favourites were the X10, Touch HD2 (I know, but I liked the hardware) and the Desire. The Touch HD2 fell out of the running pretty quickly since it runs WinMo and I wanted Android.
The Desire is a really nice phone, it's got good hardware and it runs Android but it had a few problems. First off the screen is pretty poor. The colours are great but it's way too fuzzy for my taste. The general solidity, or feel, was also pretty bad. It's feels too plastic and cheap for my taste.
The X10 felt slightly sluggish and bogged down, but since it's software I figured I could fix that pretty easily which I did. The Android version worried me at first but some investigation turned up that the differences between this custom 1.6 and the HTC version of 2.0 were pretty minimal. In the end I went for the X10 because it has a way better screen, it has a more solid feel to it and a pretty nice camera.
This was a few months ago but no new phones have really caught my eye, most look too non-descript or iPhone-like for my taste.
There's my reasoning, hope it helps.

GalaxyS just released in Spain with Vodafone

Hi all,
As I just said its been released in Spain and I was wandering if I should get it over the desire hd its in same price range so money ain't a problem but people seem to have major issues with the galaxy .
4" screen is more than enough for me but I saw the samoled in action and is amazing the camera I hear its good too, so what should I do?
I have a really hard time recommending the Galaxy S. I could really use a working gps and a cached map navigation. The lag is really frustrating as well but as you can see with the xda app it's still usable and games run smoothly. So to answer your question: it depends what you plan to do with the phone.
Also don't forget that the desires already have 2.2 and don't put your hopes up that samsung fixes current issues.

GPS accuracy improvements are on the way, and for map caching on sd card you can use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630887
To OP: No phone is perfect.
If you don't want to flash or root your phone, you would have to wait until 2.2 comes to fix the majority of the various bugs / improvements needed. Samsung is apparently working on it 24/7, hopefully we'll get a release by the end of October.
Compared to the Desire HD, the immediate difference is the screen quality.
Cached maps navigation sure seems like heaven especially with compas integration, im directionally challenged so it could help me a lot, the 2.2 out of the box and first probable phone to get 3.0 is definetly a plus...
I really like the screen and video format integration it always pissed me off that i have to convert videos to watch on my phone. and I use my phone to listen to music how is the SGS in that regard?
What is youre experience with the phone (i know sammy isnt the best manefacturer but whats the problem beside the gps?)

Interesting... the earbuds that came with mine are actually pretty good. Not as good as my £40 Sennheiser earbuds, but very close! Good bass response, uncoloured midrange. The trebble is a little harsh sometimes at max volume but that's to be expected.
Makes me wonder if perhaps mine weren't manufactured by Samsung.
If you don't care flashing, then the Galaxy S is ok.
I think the Desire HD will be better out of the box though.
I don't mind flashing...if its a resonable amount.
I can buy either just have a hard time deciding which one.

You should try them out!
The HD is quite heavy compared to the Galaxy (I held it briefly) but feels much more robust. That being said, I have the Galaxy S since August and nothing has happened to it yet.
I have used the normal desire (non HD) and it seems to be much snappier than the galaxy s. That of course doesn't mean that the HD will be as snappy. The Sense GUI seems to be better than touchwiz.
With JM6 and the voodoo lagfix, the Galaxy is doing ok. I am really happy with it.
If I were you I would wait a little bit to see what's going to happen with Froyo and hear first real impressions about the HD.
wasnt froyo realeased for the SGS? at least unofficialy?

this is the best phone available on the market right now!
if you can wait, then wait for better stuff comming out on 2011
if you need a new phone now get the Galaxy S
strong, good for protection out of the box, see the videos on the wiki
great reception
GPS works good contrary to what you have read here in the forum, it just depends on the firmware
the Camera is amazing, Video recording as well
Audio is the finest quality on both the 3.5 and via Bluetooth 3.0
if you have a car with BT stereo support, you'll love it!
the LAGs that you read about is not real, it all comes down to maintaining your phone with the autorun killers and task managers to optimize the phone.
WiFi N is very fast, i get up to 87 Mbps on it, not as fast as PC but fast enough to transfer large files, without using the USB
SAMOLED screen is amazing.
Well don't mind installing the lagfixes and if I keep waiting for a better phone il never have one T-T but I do want a tegra2

DesireHD delayed in spain should i just get the sgs?
Hey,
I'm from the Netherlands, and bought my Galaxy S 2 weeks ago. I knew full well that the Desire HD was coming, but chose for the Galaxy S anyway...
I couldn't be happier with my choice, this is why:
-The Galaxy S screen is superior. No match, S-Amoled rocks.
-Xvid support is lovely.
-There already is a lot of documentation and a big user base for the Galaxy S (and stuff like Galaxy S specific apps), which gives you a community to fall back on.
-The Galaxy S has a pretty good battery (1500 mAh), in contrary to the DesireHD (1200 mAh).
-The Galaxy S is available NOW (there's always something on the horizon).
-Bluetooth 3.0
-The best processor in smartphone world.
-A LOT more memory; up to 48gb (16 internal and 32 microsd).
-It is light.
-There's a front facing camera for video calls and such.
In all honesty, the Desire HD has some pros too:
-The screen, although it sucks in comparison, is pretty big.
-The build quality seems to be pretty good.
-HTC support, probably until android 3.0.
-It has more RAM.
-8MP camera with flash.
-Maybe device design and HTC Sense, depends on taste. I like the Galaxy S and Touchwiz just fine, personally.
To me, the Galaxy S was better on paper and I am very satisfied with the experience it is giving me up to now.
It does need some tweaks, but the good news is all of those tweaks are available due to the huge user base (>1 mil!). It has lag, use a lagfix. It doesn't properly manage RAM, use AutoKiller Memory. Etc.
Fact is that, if the DesireHD runs into these issues, you won't have a fix ready right away simply because the user base will need to grow and the device hasn't been tested by over a million people for half a year. With the Galaxy S, you know what you will be getting, and you know it's awesome.
So, there you go; get the Galaxy S.
Greets,
MM
Really? Awesome havent noticed the front camera xD
Well the main pull the desireHd has over me is that htc phones are better supported (xda etc..) And kinda like the new sense(The site, cached map nav are really awesome )I dont like the battery, i dont care how much more optimised the proccesor is at 1200mAh with its huge screen its gonna die quickly.
4 inch screen is plenty of space.
everybody says the camera is awesome
Hey is the bootloder unlocked can we flash costom roms yet? Dont think i saw any...

Is it worth getting this phone?

Atm i got nokia n97 white and i am about to change phone, is it good trade to give my nokia n97 for wildfire?
I want from wildfire users to tell me more about phone pls, i know resi is issue
Now with CynaogenMod 6, H*LL YEAH!
I had the N97 before as well. Disadvanages of Wildfire are imho the screen resolution, battery and camera quality. Advantages of Wildfire are: dimensions (of the phone), display (excluding resolution), customizability, and apps.
In my opinion the Wildfire pros outweigh the cons. Go in a shop and try it for some minutes. And then don't forget that you can improve your experience with apps and custom roms!

Lg kf50. LOL, wildfire is my first touchscreen/smartphone
thx for info guys but i think i am about to get legend not too much higher price but res is imo better .)
dont buy this phone. low screen resolution= many good apps not available on market. gaming suck. not able to play 3d games. the updates also suck like Nokia. I have been waiting for froyo update for month but nothing until today. somebody say it will release this month every month but until now I still have 2.1 not 2.2. I m soon gonna dump this phone. I suggest u get mid-end android phone. not low-end phone like wildfire. I regret that I bought this phone
Yeah, Wildfire is so low-end...

thx for nice info , then for sure i am getting legend
I'd rather get the desire over legend, better value for money. As for wildfire, few 2.2 custom runs available already. Makes the phone awesome.

You wanna dump it? I`ll buy it for 50$.
It`s a good phone if you know what you are getting yourself into. If you drool all over the HTC Desire reviews and head to the store and buy a Wildfire, of course you`ll be disappointed. But if you want a low, medium- class smartphone that`s easy on the pocket then go for the Wildfire.
Oh, and how much time do you spend playing on the phone, really now? do you really need the 3d games? I have only 2d games on my wildfire and I`m having a bloody good time for the 10 minutes a week I`m playing on it.
If you want 3d games and play a whole lot of them, then go buy a PSP, this way you`ll have battery left in your phone to make a god-damn call.

i probly sell it to get mid end phone. not only 3d games, some good apps also not availabe on market like, camera 360, mixzing. i had spend a lot of time to "enhance" my wildfire, but still not satisfied (im greedy man). i had a psp but it not all the time with me. so i play games on my wildfire when i left my psp. i m not saying this phone suck. it just dont suit me. i bought this phone bcoz it cheap n my first android phone. i m not expecting low screen resolution had many disadvantages. good for u it suit u.
you can use the patched market to get those apps, and no the roms aren't really that buggy at all, well for me, i've tried them all, and so far, the only problem with CM6 is the default android phone dialer layout, but i use dialer one instead, so it's all fine.
@kevin thanks. i will search for the patched market...nway, i believe those apps are not shown on the non-patched market because the hardware limitation. is it save to install it? about the custom rom, i never tried them..i thought it was buggy from the post on the thread

NEXUS S?

hi guys,
i'm new to this forum..currently, i'm doing some research for SNS as i'm going to make a choice between this device or other HTC devices. Regrettable choice is intolerable! I was totally confuse really. I heard there are some recognizable problems with SNS such as no LED notification, no fm radios, bad compass and etc. So i would like to ask, whether this phone is worth to grab, and what make it so special compare to other phone?
i'm using a lot of gps for navigation, and i used to sync a lot to fb and my google account, and imap for e-mail is very crucial for me. USB Thetering or bluetooth tethering is available here? i used to chase custom roms when i was with my htc phones before for performance improvement. Sometimes, i made a good time playing games from my phone to release tension. so does this phone still worth for me?
if there's anyone coming from DHD, did you satisfied migrating to SNS?
Thanks
I'm coming from dhd and i am pretty satisfied...
Dhd battery is awful and the screen is really bad too. I really dont care about the fm lack, i never used it in my old phones. And for led notification i use bln and it works just fine.
Dhd is too big, and despite htc's fame for making devices with good materials, i really dont like dhd build construction, my volume button doesn't last three months, also my power button. The speaker is really low and in call volume isn't the best thing either.
I really like my nxs, sure i miss some things from dhd (like the ram amount), but the overall experience is really better...
edit: ah, the thing i really miss is the browser. Nexus browser is simply pathetic when compared to dhd one

Gps is outstanding. All tethering is available. The nexus is a great choice as it seems to do everything better. I came from htc. The pure ginger bread feels like what other phones work towards. The custom roms are the most stable you will find. The phone is sexy with a curved screen and completely blacked out. I use gps every single day and always locks instantly. Over clocking makes it perform better than dual core, with out all the bugs of tegra.(still new) I have no regrets, fits perfect in pocket and sitting down doesn't feel like it will break in the pocket since the phones screen hugs your leg from the curve. Personally the size its great not rediculously large or too small, very classy to show off. And no lag...ever . If you want some extra features go with decks rom, it integrates cm7 features with fantastic bagreet life and a stock feel ..which is a very good thing on the nexus.

Came from a Desire Z and Desire, the NS still feels snappier and gives more battery life. The only thing HTC has a upper hand on is the browser which is the best on any mobile platform! Sense is good but it really bogs down the system, plus it's just pure eye candy especially with sense 3.0

I've had my NS for about 3 months now, and all flaws it had has been fixed.
Since this was my first smartphone, I don't know if my opinion really is of that much weight, but I love my phone, it's simply put amazing.
The screen is incredible.
The build quality doesn't leave anything to be desired.
The ROMs available are awesome.
The... eh screw that, it's just awesome in every aspect.
I can guarantee you this: you will NOT be disappointed.
Oh, and welcome to the NS forums

cant wait to get the phone delivered. still, have to wait till end of this month
but, you guys are so friendly..i would be happy to join this community
I didn't come from a Desire HD but I have played with a Desire, and a Desire HD and personally owned a Xperia x10, and a Samsung Captivate...and recently bought an xperia Arc and traded it yesterday for a Nexus S.
The Nexus S is miles better than all the phones I listed above. Its just so fast and smooth...one word that comes to mind is slick. The build quality is amazing, the device is the most comfortable device I have ever used. Calling, texting, and web browsing is amazing and better than all listed above. I love this phone and think you will be very happy with it.
I know from now on the only Android device I will ever own is the Nexus line of phones, and they are googles baby so you'll always be looked after : )
hurrmmmm...sry for bumping up this thread..by the way, currently, I've been looking for i9020 but seems, it was pretty rare in malaysia..and if there is, the price was like +-300 for one amoled screen!! so guys, is it really worth it to aim for amoled, or i could just take i9023 for super clear lcd? hurmm
I also looked into nexus s , coming from desire and all htc bull**** with updates. How is screen in nexus s? Its not gorilla , easy to scratch? Also battery life? What about rom space , can we use all 16 gb or are there partitions? Thanx guys
