Hi,
I have upgraded cmy htc magic os to cyanogenmod recently and I am really enjoying it. However I feel I am missing HTC stock software like friendstream, HTC keyboard ,album etc.
Is there any way to install those apps in cyanogenmod 6.1 ? Where can I download those from?
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

You can't. Each HTC app requires the htc framework and resources that is only available in SenseUI roms. There are some exceptions however such as the HTC Music app. But the widget apps are available ONLY with the Rosie.apk file which requires the HTC framework.

It only applies to Sense 2.5. Which ROM are you using, and which Sense version?

Its "home" is a thread about it here on XDA, in the HD2 forum:
Co0kie's Home Tab.
I've been using previous versions for a couple of months and luv it...this latest one is a huge feature-upgrade -- really great. I won't run my phone without it now.
But, yes, you have to be running Sense 2.5. I've experienced no downside, only benefit, using this.

I've been tempted to flash my ROM, but it really doesn't make any difference. I like SPB Mobile Shell so much that I just don't think I'd like any Sense version. But the main reason I WOULD consider flashing is to get that Cookie version with 2.5. It is as close as it comes to Mobile Shell.
The other reason I don't flash is that everything on my phone is working, and I think that a stock ROM is more likely to be stable than a cooked ROM. If I have any problems I may well change my mind.

Find yourself a appropriate official stock rom for upgrade to Sense 2.5, rom 2.xxxxx (for your region), download, install, hard reset, install Cookie`s and you`re gonna rock! If you gonna flash custom rom, don`t forget HardSpl!

okay, it seems like in order to get this app, i need to flash my rom, i looked at the (Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development section), i read a couple of pages in there, and it seems like this ROM are unstable....is it really worth it to get the cooke app or should i just keep the stock TF3D and iphonetoday and mobile shell 3.5.3? since my stock ROM is flawless...(afraid to flash...)

I have found that most of the cooked ROMs with Sense 2.5 are actually more stable than stock ROMs. Doring a brief lapse in judgement I decided to flash the updated stock T-Mobile ROM and the speed and unstability almost made me want to smash my phone with a tack hammer. Then I remembered there was a saving grace- the awesome cooked ROMs here. The best advice is to try one...if you end up not liking it you can always go back to stock.

I too flashed the (US) Tmobile ROM updated of Jan 2010. At first it was too slow, but after a lot of tweaking it is now fast and very stable. Actually I have had the same experience with all the HTC devices I've owned. I had a Magician that I flashed, a P3470 stock HTC, and now my TP 2 T-Mobile. In each case I had to massage the unit until it was just right, and in each case it was faster and more stable after about 3-4 weeks. I think that part of it was my tweaks, and part was my learning how the ROM operates.
I would recommend that anyone flashing a ROM consider keeping it for at least a couple of weeks before giving up on it.

You need to go to the settings for the today screen and turn off all the plug-ins. One of them will be named sense. There is no point in having both Sense and mobile shell.
When running sense, you can tell the version by the home screen. If there are shortcuts under the weather icon, then you have 2.5; otherwise it is 2.1.
If you really want your TP2 to rock, I recommend Vostradamus add ons:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=574264
and there is a really cool Mobile Shell theme that looks and functions like the upcoming Windows 7 for Mobile:

New to Tilt 2 - Want Co0kie's Home Tab
Hi guys,
I'm new to the Tilt 2, but not new to the forum. Recently, I had changed to the HTC PURE (courtesy of AT&T's free upgrade), but I couldn't get the Bluetooth to initiate calls from my car. After 2 weeks of struggling with stock and cooked ROMs, different radios and a plethora of other flashes, I finally went to my final option. (Hyundai told me that the Tilt phone was compatible with their Bluetooth.) I took a chance and after much pleading and negotiating, I was able to get a Tilt 2 for no charge in exchange for my new PURE. Right out of the box, it works perfectly with my Hyundai Genesis Coupe. But now, my next dilemna is what to do about the apps and functions on the phone. I have been a loyal follower of TAEL and NRG's ROMs. NRG recently built-in the Co0kie's Home Tab into his latest ROMs. I'm worried that if I flash a new cooked ROM, then the Bluetooth may no longer work. However, if I can at least get the Co0kie's Home Tab, I might be able to live with it all. However, I have noticed that the Co0kie's Home Tab works with Sense 2.5. I don't think that my out of the box Tilt 2 has that. Can anyone assist me in determining what I do and don't have access to? Also, if anyone else has had the Hyundai problem, I would be grateful to hear how they dealt with it.
Maraming salamat,
Miguel

[REQUEST] HD Mini ROM WM 6.5.5 Latest Build

Hi guys.
Has anyone tried or HAS a working ROM for Mini using WM 6.5.5 Latest Build and w/o HTC Sense?
I am trying to find a working cooked ROM if not then I'll make one myself and post it.
I just need to know if there are stock ROMs that'll work for mini.
Here's what I'm looking for:
1. Windows Mobile 6.5.5 latest possible WORKING and STABLE build
2. List of HTC pre-installed software that can be removed
3. Essential software that need to be installed in the Mini (just to make it work)
Thanks.
Use rom kichen alpha provided in this thread to find essential soft to run hd mini, also yuo can find all preinstalled soft there too. Just download Shipped rom, extract, use kitchen to modify it. Simple like 1.2.3
Most of people doesn't use copilot & google maps software. I don't like Manilla's Footprints & Stock pages, maeybe some business people use it, but i don't. And i think is not so big group off business people, who flashes their phones
Yeah... but the problem is that HTC totally removed tmail.exe in their ROM. What I'm looking for is a ROM that's untouched by HTC but'll work for the Mini. Somehow, I find the stock Message soft from MS is more convenient since it also support threaded messages.
HTC has so much to the OS that it has officially screwed it up and making it hog almost 60% of the resources of the phone. I'm going to build a ROM that'll be free for anyone to customize from scratch without the fear that it's not compatible with the Mini.

Just wanted to know is thier any way i can edit the rom, so i can install the original htc Camer/Video recorder software?

No, you cannot use htc apps on an aosp rom. can you just search before you post, they've been so many questions on this ==.
There are many alternatives, like camera 360.

Thanks CHAN, and DAMN!
This seemed a really good idea to me, as the different range of apps and themes you could get from MIUI!
Anyways, I guess il just have to stick with WM or Android :crying:
