Flash own customized kernel Image on HTC T-Mobile G2 - G2 and Desire Z General

Hi,
I am new to the Android development. I want to flash my own kernel image on HTC T-Mobile G2.
For this i am able to temporary root the device. My queries are below:
1. In temporary rooting is it possible to take backup of kernel image and flash kernel?
2. For flashing the kernel first we need to take the backup of Kernel image and after that we need to flash our own customized kernel image.
Is this understanding by me is right?
If yes then how to do it?]
Regards
shakeel

[Q] Is there a stock kernel for 4.4.3?

Hi. I want to change my custom kernel to another,but I need to restore kernel to stock first.
So is there a flashable(in custom recovery) stock kernel for 4.4.3?
Thank you!
Download the factory image for the nexus 4 and take the kernel from there.

[Q] OTA

I recently bought Yureka and I am looking forward to root it and install custom roms and kernel.. However I wanna clear a doubt before doing that... I want to be able to recieve future OTA updates of the device and my question is Can i install the OTA from a custom recovery or while using a custom recovery by directly flashing it from the custom recovery or will i have to flash the stock rom again and will have to install the OTA after that. If that's the scenario kindly provide me the link and procedure to flash the Cm 12s after using a custom rom. I am sorry if this thread is already available.. I have yet to unlock the bootloader and install recovery on my device... What if I nake a backup of the Cm12s rom from the custom recovery, will i be able to flash the Yureka's future OTA update via the custom recovery.
I am currently on cm12s

Hi!
First, to root and install custom recovery, use Autorec (LINK) : thread also has a link for ioroot25, which let you root your phone (ONLY ON KITKAT). When you have used autorec, be sure to flash latest version of TWRP (link in my signature).
If you want to go back to Kitkat, yes you can;
-By .kdz method (LINK);
-Or by flashing a .kdz file converts to .zip file (LINK : this one will let you keep custom recovery + root).
The thing you have to be advise is that when you switch between ROMS, you sometimes have to flash Baseband / bootloader / bootstack stuff like this. But this is every times describs in ROM's thread.
For stable stock ROM? I recommand you Cloudy 2.2 (kitkat ROM, see my signature for link) which is a port of the G3, add Dorimanx Kernel (see my signature) and you'll have a beast.
Also, all depends of your G2's model, there is planty of ROM for each model... I'll let you search !

Root your device (I let you search for root on Lollipop);
Use Autorec to downgrade your Bootloader;
FLASH LATEST VERSION OF TWRP;
Flash Kitkat baseband provides in CloudyG2 2.2 and then the ROM.
For now, CloudyG2 3.0 isn't officially supported on D802 by @Cloudyfa, but (very) soon he'll release CloudyG2 2.3 which is G4's port, so, wait for it.

Flash Rom and Kernel

Hello,
I want to flash this Rom: Team Radium Rom
OP recommends us to use Alucard's Kernel.
Now my question, can I flash both at one go or do I have to flash Rom first, boot, back to recovery and then flash the kernel? Or doesn't it matter?
You can flash both at once. Just make sure the flash order is rom first and then kernel.
Thanks for your help!

Switch to Stock Kernel

Hi,
I am on ROOTED G935U with eng-kernel. thanks to hard work of all devs and this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502
My question is can I flash stock kernel (not modified one/without root) from FlashFire. What I want is to gain root, make few apps system apps with few tweaks and then switch to stock kernel for better performance. I know we have custom ROM from jrkruse which does the similar thing. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/development/rom-t3572739). I need help with creating the flashable flashfire stock kernel zip or any other way we can achieve it.
Thanks for your suggestion in advance.
