DHD in the Philippines - Desire HD General

Please list down the shops that currently have the DHD in the Philippines. Maybe we can help each other find the store with the best deal. The prices I'm listing are in Php.
Greenhills Bridgeway: 38k
Greenhills Theater Mall: 32.5k
Other stores expect the DHD to arive January at 35k.

Dude, have you bought one already? I think I'm gonna go look one in Greenhills.

I'm planning on buying one tomorrow but I'm a bit concerned about the warranty. I might wait till January unless the unit I get is flawless.

so the one in greenhills doesn't have any warranty at all?

thats expensive. but i am curious how it feels and look like. i have an hd2 and i think they are pretty much the same. just wait for January, it might be cheaper then due to a lot of stores carrying them.

The word on the street is that CMK will have it for less than 30k but I just dont know when they will have it in stock.
There is a shop at Bridgeway with dummy DHD's. You may want to visit them to get the feel of the unit.
Warrany of the units now are mostly 7-day returns, but I feel like the regular 1-year warranty is needed for such an expensive device.

I bought mine a nonth ago in Thailand, the first week that they were available here. I paid 23,000 Thai baht which is $728 US and 32,000 pesos comes to $723 so the two countries are about the same. I guess that the warranty would be important but I don't think that you will have any problems with it. I had a HD2 before that I was running Android on and I like my DHD much better, everything just works a lot smoother. I say go for it, those prices sound reasonable to me.

Yeah, I think the 1 year warranty sounds pretty much reasonable, so I'm just gonna wait til' January and that CMK you are talking about? Where is that located?

CMK cellphones is based in QC and they have competative prices.

where exactly in Q.C mate?

Try going to cmkcellphones.com and they have a location map. Also, they have their prices up but the DHD was taken down because they didnt know when they would get any.

True, my wife has a Desire and its been working without a hitch so I think HTC quality is spot on. However, I did see this thread elsewhere about dead pixels starting to appear after some usage and thats the sort of situation I would like to avoid. What a bind I'm in, right?
Anyways, If the price is right, I think ill pick it up.

I think that you will be pleased with your decision.

Would any of you know if these shops sell DHD accessories already?
Thanks

None of the shops I've asked carries any HTC accessories. The best lead I have is to go to the HTC repair center allong Annapolis. I have no idea if they actually have any there but I kinda doubt it.

I have my HTC desire hd! Got it at infomaxx MOA.

And how much does Infomaxx sell them?
Infomaxx is known to sell at really high prices, at least for Nikon and most photographic equipment I've asked prices for before.

The initial price was very high but we managed to convince them to lower it. let them know that you know how much it supposed to be and they will be willing to match your price.

Where can i see xperia x10i(Tmobile USA) and buy it?

Hi,
probably because its 2:36am here but I can't find any stores(online or local) that sell SE Xperia X10. I am From San Diego, CA. Looked all other the Xperia X10 fan sites and no one mentioning about it.
I would really like to see the phone "in person" as I don't buy things only seeing images on the internet.
Anyone knows where I can go and play with it for couple minutes? And what is the price?
Thank you.
sorry to say dude, you wont see the phone until maybe later this july or august or even september (if AT&T is subsidizing this phone x10a) if you wanna get the x10i with 900/1700/2100, you can either fly to europe or to hong kong to test it in person.
There are several stores in San Gabriel, Monterey Park and Alhambra, CA area that sells X10i with T-Mobile 3G. I purchased mine from addictedtophones.com and pick it up in person. Give them a call.
Thank you guys for reply,
I think I will have a trip to LA to see the phone, I was planing to visit the city anyway, unless I find a store here in San Diego.
Anyone knows how to find this stores?
And I see they making Tmobile contracts too!? strange as tmobile doesnt have them.
My contract ends this month so I will have to decide.
Thank you again.
pagercell services in westminster, ca, orange country can get it too. Holly, the owner can get most imports. I got my treo 650 and p910i from her.
Should be a shorter drive than LA.

I found my X10i online very easily by doing google search for xperia X10.
I got mine from expansys usa but there are others that are also less expansive or at least that was the case about a mouth ago.
How much should it be? I found couple of them on ebay with ~550$, is it a good price? Also i so some websites saying that Xperia Shakira is coming out a mid size phone something like 3.2-3.5 inch display. I would love that, as my wife has a 3GS and its 3.5 inch wich for me is more than enought. I also checked Htc Hd2/Evo with that 4.3 inch display and honestly i think is too much, to big and to wide.
Should I wait for that phone maybe? As I noticed SE moves realy slow. I am assuming until it comes out we will have at least a dozen more androids.
Do you guys like your xperia x10? I was reading alot and many ppl sold their phones. Is it aniying because of small RAM, no multitouch and no firmware updates? Like I said SE is slow on making things.
Do not pay anymore than 500 cash. I've seen listings on ebay for 515 free shipping. Paypal, ebay listing fees, and shipping takes quite a chunk from the retailers so they must have been able to get the phone for much cheaper in order to have any kind of decent profit margin.

There is absolutely nothing seriously wrong with the phone other than a few quirks here and there. If you read through the forums, you will get a picture of what people are complaining about. I've mentioned this in another thread; I think the X10 is a fantastic phone if it meets your requirements. In certain aspects of the UI, the X10 is faster than the N1. In others, the opposite is true. Each phone has its own quirks.
The main reason why I bought the N1 is because I'm a nerd who likes to tinker with things. The N1 has the most support right now and that is why I have it. I will buy the X10 again as soon as I have the available cash though. That should tell you something.
Thx,
probably i am going next week to LA to buy one.
Hope I will like what I see )
Thanks for all support guys. Have a great weekend.

Preordered?

Hurro
Curious to see if anyone has preordered a Galaxy Tab yet. And if so then where from?
Reeeeeeally interested in getting one as the expected launch date is a few days before my birthday but not too sure if preordering is the best way to go.

Still more expensive than Amazon and Expansys.
Sent from my HTC Desire
In all honesty, I would not pre-order.
In my opinion they are price gouging. The Expansys and Amazon prices have been stuck at ~£600+ ever since there were pictures of the device. Sure, if they were selling it a month early at those prices, then I could over look it. But they are totally ignoring how much the device is probably going to cost and acting like they are giving you a good deal.
There aren't going to be supply shortages of these things. Samsung wants to sell like a million a month for a year. They will be there when you want to buy one. Personally, I'd stop and look at the pricing when it drops. That means if its cheap as it should be then you can get a 64gig model. If its too pricey, then just wifi. Either way it doesn't hurt, and it certainly means that you actually get what you pay for instead of what Expansys thought it was worth two months ago when they 'guarenteed the price' (ie before we learned the retail cost in the states is going to be like $650/£410)
I think if anything, £600 is a good price. HTC Desires are still selling for £400 on the internet, so £200 more for a tablet makes sense IMHO.
Sent from my HTC Desire
The problem really is that we don't know where its going to hit on the UK market. If its on par with the Euro-zone bits of europe, then £600 is a little high but about right.
On the other hand, if we're on par with say Finland or the States then those prices are way too high. Potentially you could get a contract one that costs £650 over its life time.
That's certainly why I'm not pre-ordering anyway. Until I see solid pricing for the UK, I don't want to commit to the price. £600 is about the highest it could possibly launch at, and if buying a day after lauch saves me up to £150 then hell yeah I'll wait a day. Im even thinking about importing a GSM one from the states.

You'd think that wouldn't you... In fact you'd think that since the Tab hit Vodafone (my carriers) website within a few days of the Tab actually being a thing, you'd think that they'd have prices by now, since it's supposed to be launching within a a couple of weeks.
Personally I'm starting to feel like im banging my head against the ******* wall.

Exactly. Its weird how they didn't just do a big release event for each zone giving prices and stuff. I know the carriers want to be doing the majority of the sales and they are a law unto themselves when it comes to release dates but still. If you want buzz then let us know what we are buying.

Nexus S = Rip off?

Hey guys, ordered this in the UK but I'm hearing so many bad things about it.
No Gorilla glass
GPS problems
Feels cheap
Plastic
Crap camera
.....and so on!
£549 quid this cost me and feels like with all the comments it's only worth half that.
To those who own the handset, what's the build quality like and is it simply a good handset to justify the price?
Thanks
£549 is definitely far too much in my option. Simply because it's nearly £150 more than it's being sold for in the US.
My N1 set me back £412 after shipping and taxes.

I can really understand your point, but this is google's phone, it will be updated constantly and all problems rectified quickly, i think it was rushed out for christmas..... HTC phones or Samsung phones are also not without their problems, and i think we are looking at the negatives too much without enjoying the many positives.
549 IS a rip off, thats understood... But we have to understand that the 330 pounds plus VAT & Shipping from the US will add to the price. There is no doubt that this phone is the best Android phone to date, we just need to give Google time to iron out the errors.
GPS is working fine with 98 percent of devices, which sort of falls into line with what we see with other devices.
When you get your phone, enjoy your purchase, and then wait for the next nexus, which will probably be next xmas to upgrade again. I have told myself now that nexus phones are the only way to have a good google experience. HTC phones have major build quality and hardware flaws, and coupled with there inability to even put a decent screen on their flagship device should be seen as showing exactly what they think of their customers. LCD on the Desire HD = Joke. It looks like someone threw domestos bleach over the screen from an off straight viewing angle, lol
Enjoy your device man... Because there is nothing better atm Well at least untill the next Nexus drops;P

Even if it had all the stuff u mentioned people would STILL cry. You would'nt understand until you have it in your hands on it.
The price in the US is $529 which is £340.78. How much is the VAT, 17.5%?
The correct price in the UK should be £400.42.

The price is rather shocking here in the UK 'like everything' so I'm kind of used to that. Sounds very cheaply built which I find very, very worrying for the price.

It does feel that way. But the perfomance is just out this world. It actually deosnt feel THAT cheap though
Reasons not to get the Desire HD
May not get Honeycomb officially (will defo get 2.3)
Internal and external speaker problems, and very quiet. Internal speaker has high static jolts when calling over 2g. This is also the same for the Desire Z.
Heavy phone over a large area, 160g.
Scratch the metal back and your phone devalues without possible rectification.
Terrible screen, big but blacks are very bleached and also you have a white hue over the phone when viewing from an off straight angle.
Horrible battery cover, gap in the back part + easily bends and warped....

The Super AMOLED screen will awe and amaze you. Fricking gorgeous.
I've also got an iPhone 4, Nexus One, and even a Galaxy S i9000. The Galaxy S and Nexus S are by far my favorite screens. I've also compared them to Desire HD, Droid X and a few others. The MyTouch 4G is the only thing that comes close in my opinion, followed right behind by the iPhone 4, but the iPhone's 3.5" is just too small.
Also, this phone is fast! Screw benchmarks, they're not real-world "feel" of the phone. Out of the box, this NS is as fast as my "lag-fixed" modded overclocked Galaxy S, which has posted Quadrant scores of 2200+.

Shipping? From where? It's not made in the US. Shipping from Asia to the UK should be the same as shipping from Asia to the US.
CPW is the UK version of Best Buy. The $529 is including BB's cut, the £400 should be including CPW's cut.
The correct price should be £400. Personally I'd be willing to pay £450, or even £500 if I got it now, before the 20th.

If you know someone who works for a non-profit in the US you can get one through them. Up to 20 can be ordered by each organization.

I have one to sell, but it's a little beat up and has some significant AMOLED dimming. I think I'll take my chances on ebay. Even though you can get a decent 32GB MicroSDHC card for about $15, the a 32GB version of this phone sells for significantly more than a 8GB version.
A little while ago Secondipity's ebay store had 8GB models accepting best offer submissions of $100. That's the best deal I've seen. Even at that price, it took them a couple weeks to sell out. Now prices are higher. They were the T-Mobile version, but as I've read on the forum, it's just the same hardware flashed with different ROMs.
Either way, you may want to hold off buying anything until you hear what Microsoft has to say at the Windows Phone 8 announcement scheduled for June 20th.

Sorry sold my VP to CeX for £114 and bought an S3 the phone was nearing the end of it's life and, if dell were reluctant to fix a small issue with the compass then, I highly doubt they'll send out an upgrade for the discountinued phone. I personally bought the DVP from this seller. ACTUALLY, he is like a half mile away from my home! HAHA. If you order from him, I can make sure he sends you a good working DVP. I am actually helping him unlock some other phones he has and removing some demo software on some Samsung Focus and HTC HD7 phones. He has a few DVP that are kinda messed up and 2 or 3 in pretty good condition. check it out. Look at his other auctions.

no sub 100$ dvp??
Ended up selling my extra one for about $150. Prices were lower last month when an liquidator was trying to move some stock. Prices may go down again with today's announcement that WP7 handsets will not be updated to WP8.
anybody???
a bump!!!!

To my fellow North Americans

Good evening,
Was looking around and seems like Z5 is what I've been waiting for, and like many of you I cannot wait to get my hands on one. Searched it up on UK and USA sites, prices are extremely expensive for a Z5 (imagine how much the Z5 P is going to cost), anyway I searched it up on USA Amazon and found a decent price. Ive never actually purchased a smartphone online before but have made Tablet purchases and simple manufacturer defects are covered by the seller.
NGP Store USA from US Amazon sent me a ridiculous response. See the attachments, I asked nicely whether it is covered under manufacturer defect if the phone does not perform as advertised. I understand it has no warranty but manufacturer defect is another thing, event written on their policies. I dont know are they implying the phones are not IP 68 certified.
Anyway, be warned my young jedis rather wait till it launches in Canada or find some seller that is actually a seller. Seriously, paying up to $1000 for a phone that is not as advertised is non-sense. really makes me wonder where they get their stock from.
Interesting response I bought mine on EBay from Taiwan. Seller is 23port. I bought Z2 and Z3 from them as well. They are one if the first to get the new devices and ship DHL for free. Went out 10/2 and arrived 10/5.
You can get it for about $650~ on Handtec. Not bad, considering

i have actually purchased from them before but the stupid canadian import fees, taxes, and currency is ridiculous lol it would nearly end up 1000+ sigh
Got my Z5 Graphite Black from Clove. Supposed to be delivered to my house by Tuesday hopefully! I only had good experience with them, would highly recommend them
To be honest, I like their response. The phone ip certification does not qualify it to be kept under the pressure of a running tap. The phone is gently submerged then taken out again, not blasted by a running tap stream of water.

i dont know what kind of sink you have there sir, but my sink doesnt blast out tap water. I avoided to use the word "submerge" under water to illustrate a point here. After checking out every other sites, including eBay, yes eBay, nearly all sellers provide 1 year warranty. Then again, warranty and manufacturer defect policy are two separate things. What they are doing is very skeptical, makes me really wonder where they get their phones.
Even aside from all that, this points out they have extremely poor customer service or the CSR is just unprofessional. Could have structured the sentence professionally.
Im trying to avoid purchasing from UK, most of the prices there are extremely high. i might actually order from 23port as proposed by augie. Thanks for the info tho guys!
It must be my European sink with strong pipes and forceful blast

The seller proposed by augie is selling at $704 usd with free shipping, one other seller (not the one I've encountered) from amazon is also selling around that price.
Handtec is selling a bit cheaper than clove if you want it from uk

The Taiwan version does have the MH750 but I read somewhere that in France they will be getting the noise cancelling MDR-NC750, much nicer if you can find a French seller.

and tw version comes with quick charger i think

I really wanted to try the Z line. I was excited to see that VZW had one of them listed as an upcoming device. I was hoping the Z5 would land on VZW instead of the Z4v, but now news has it that VZW ditched the Sony lineup period... This is really sad news.
$1000?? Try searching Amazon
The Z5C is $559 on amazon:
Honestly, I wouldn't spend more than $650 on the Z5 and that's being generous given the flaws we've seen thus far. Granted that's software that has yet to receive post launch updates that improve performance.

lol dont forget i live in Canada, things are much more expensive than in USA.
a $700 USD phone will cost me $900 CAD >.> and that is already excluding the province's taxes
Any clue what to do with warranty?
I heard Sony offers world wide warranty on all their phones....anyone have experience with that?
