Bluetooth Mouse compatibility list? - Vibrant General

Hi,
So I have been looking for information on which bluetooth mice work with the samsung vibrant. I currently have an apple bluetooth keyboard working well with the vibrant, but I'd love to have a mouse as well.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
EDIT: Here is a video of a guy using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse with his vibrant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21aVbYpgrRA - so how do we do it with a mouse and pointer?
EDIT:His XDA post can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8447646

Don't think this would work - there's no on-screen cursor.

Ditto. I remember Cyanogen added it as a feature not too many revisions back, so it isn't part of AOSP. Unless Samsung choose to add it... You can see where that is going.

So this is a video I saw a while back of a guy using a bluetooth keyboard AND MOUSE on his Vibrant. I'd like to do the same. How do I do it, and what mice will work? I know you two said that it can't be done, but this is proof otherwise.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21aVbYpgrRA

I suggest you contact him. He mentions using a leaked build, so it definitely isn't a mainstream feature yet.
edit .. Bluetooth HID is a standard, so all you really need to do is figure out what build he found it in and any bluetooth mouse should work.

Okay, so I found his XDA post under the i9000 section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8447646

mouse definitely works.. i use Apple's Mighty Mouse (pass: 0000) wireless without a problem... the scroll wheel works as the ones on the older HTC models...

I'm sure it's possible - it's all pretty standard these days. Of course you would need the right dlls, but then again, the bluetooth fold up keyboard from stowaway (I still have one) didn't need dlls @ all - PNP it was!
Have you tried connecting a HW keyboard?
(p.s. think there was some discussion in Rapheal/Kaiser on this btw)
Have any1 tried it with a PS3?
Would love to have this too! Paid an arm and a leg for the phone, would be glad if it can help me not buy another computer hardware around the house!
I search a lot, but don't find anything.
It should use HID protocol for work, but it doesn't seems exist anything...
However as default don't work with ps3 or pc.
Would be nice I would certainly use it cause I need this actually on my ps3

keyboard and mouse for hd2

Hi all
I'm getting the HD2 next week
I have been using my Thinkoutside BT keyboard and BT mouse with earlier phones (Atom). However they do not work with my current phone (HD).
Can someone tell me whether the keyboard and mouse will work with the HD2? If so, how is it done.
Thanks
ThinkOutside keyboard and mouse
keyboard worked OK. mouse didn't. Interesting message from the HD2

So, we cannot connect bluetooth mouse on HD2? Any solution?!
Teksoft are working on modifying their BT stack to work with Broadcom. When they get it working you will be able to fully use your mouse and keyboard with both the HD and HD2.
Paul.
That's good news! Hope will release soon..
Hi
I refer to your post of July 2006 re bt mouse working on HD2. Is there any update on this? In case any link is available, please do let me know.
Cheers
Hi again. Sorry, that should read: post of December 15th, (not July 2006!!).
hi
I look also for a solution, to use my bluetooth mouse with my hd2, is it posible to use another bluetooth stack with the hd2
BT keyboard and mouse for HD2
Hi all
Any update on Teksoft working on the Broadcom BT stack to enable use of Thinkoutside BT keyboard and mouse with Leo?
Cheers
Can we work togheter to get this?
I think it would be really great if we can add keyboard and mouse support to hd2 a day.
Think about use internet through an amazing little pc! Maybe hd2 could become the smallest netbook on the market!
What can we try?
I am really impatient it finds a resolution.
thinking about wireless I had in mind to use BT.
What if we look for WiFi? Or USB as host?
http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=products&platform=1&pid=5
yes it could be great but the problem is that someone explained that bluetooth driver is not fully compatible with mouses... so if I understood well keyboard can be used but mouse no!
From what I remember my BT mouse worked fine with my HD2 but I need to test that again to be sure.

Hi,
I can confirm that my stowaway (or DELL) bluetooth keyboard works with the HD2, but I have not found a driver for the German keyboard layout. Any ideas?

I think about some registry tweak. Try to look at it also on the forum.
Sometimes when you flash WWE roms on a GER/ITA/... keyboard there can be keyboard layout problems. Some time ago I found the how to map the right keyboard here on xda.

[Q] Does Samsung plan to Fix the Bluetooth?

Hello,
We all know our bluetooth 3.0 is missing something like HID ( am i correct? )
And because of that we can't connect bluetooth devices to it, like Keyboards and Game controllers... Even heard some bluetooth stereo sets won't connect to it, like BMW's embedded ones ( am I correct again? xD )
Has samsung said anything about this HUGE issue? I find it HUGE because it is the only wall i "see" between using the full potential of this device or not using it and think how it would be if i could....
Best regards
BT is not damaged, so there is no fixing
but it can be improved to include more profiles to support more devices
supposedly in 2.2 we might get additional hardware support like the BT keyboards, mouse and such

That would mean a profile which would allow us to finally connect a WiiMote ?
And in my opinion the BT is damaged, and needs fixing, it is unacceptable not being able to connect a Bluetooth headset to your 450€ Device
That is how i see things, others may not see it that way, but hey, we are free to have our own opinions right?
as it is right now
the BT is able to connect to standard mono headsets, and stereo headsets
as well as GPS satellite, and Car Stereos (i use it all the time great base/sub!)
it has profiles to transfer files via BT
from my point of view it's pretty complete, with the minor exception of the missing HID keyboard/mouse/game controllers support
the missing BT Profile is more like a missing Driver to support those last 3 devices
Just install blue input or get apps from google to install kb hid. Bt isn't missing anything in sgs. Screw wii input. How many. Normal bt devices do you know can accept wii as input without 3rd party drivers

I'm pretty sure that Vibrant/SGS isn't supported by that application, AllGamer.

Where is your proof? If that's the case then why did they make wii 3rd party driver? Seriously if you are going to ***** over a small thing like wii remote and kb hid (fixable if you find my bt kb fix in other postings ) then return the sgs and get a more mature phone like the google nexus one god phone. It seems everyone is whining and *****ing over nothing cosidering this phone is brand new without mature software. Every phone has bugs.

Ironically enough, your "fix" was posted on the forum for the product on dealextreme, doesn't say what phone the fix is for, and doesn't work on the SGS.
BT is missing something in the SGS - the 3rd party apps you believe would fix the issue don't work. hcitool doesn't recognise a local BT device, and so can't connect to anything, all the wiimote apps error on connection - this is not a lack of profiles, it's a lack of (or at the very least, different; different enough to cause a whole host of devices and 3rd party apps to be incompatible with the SGS) implementation one way or another.
Please, try your fixes before you go preaching "screw wii input".

Bluetooth devices that work

I thought I would start a thread for what works and does not for bluetooth.
My A500 connects and works perfectly with:
Sony headphones model DR-BT21G
Freedom Pro keyboard set to HID - no special driver needed
Think Outside folding Keyboard - this is no longer on the market
My wii controller using wiimote controller and pce.emu from android market.
Wiimote controller lets me play with all the tiger emus and pce.emu has native wiimote support.

Why no one seems to be annoyed by this bright spot in the right of the screen??
It is only noticeable in bright colored backgrounds (white, light blue etc), but it completely goes away on dark backgrounds and you cant notice it at all.
Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/IMG]
I ve seen this issue on every device i ever hold in my hands (demo display devices o9n stores), including my own.
I have started a thread about this some days ago : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077527&highlight=light+bleeding , but there seems to be only few ppl worried about this..
So i wonder, does everyone else suck it up and live with it?? Maybe you havent noticed it yet?? Maybe its not so bad on your device ?? Maybe you dont have it at all ??
As far as i m concerned it really pisses me off when i look at this spot on a white background !!!

The Palm Wireless Keyboard (3245WW) works perfectly. Saw no reason to buy a different one when I had this one laying around collecting dust. You can still find them used and a rare few that are new. I'm pretty sure this is just a Think Outside keyboard with the Palm brand on it.
I have also gotten the Wii Remote working well with a Nintendo 64 emulator. I'm using WiiMote Control and N64oid.
I'll be following this thread because I'm looking to get some wireless headphones.

Targus Bluetooth keyboard for iPad
So far, I'm liking this keyboard. A few of the buttons are marked a bit oddly for Android, but overall, I really just wanted the basics. A few of the specialty keys work well - magnifier bring up search, volume keys work, arrows scroll and pan...
So, yeah..not too bad and pretty low profile as well. Operates off two AAA batteries Paired very easily. Occasionally after a long period of not being used, I have to turn it off and on again, but it reconnects Very Quickly.
Very Happy until the next one that's perfect comes along.
51.00 from tiger Direct (no shipping and no tax!)
my jaybird bluetooth headphones work great.
Qstarz BT-q818 bluetooth GPS unit.
I use my tab as a moving map in the airplane where the tab doesn't have a clear view of the sky. the BT GPS has a 42 hour rechargeable battery and works quite well. Download the Bluetooth GPS App from the market and enable Mock Locations to get it to work.
Astro
Polaroid PoGo Printer
My Polaroid PoGo Printer works well with the Iconia.
other than it being pricey, this works on my tab. I mainly use it for my media center
The Logitech keyboard for tablets works great!
I got mine at Best Buy - they did not have the "Android" model but the one for iPad is the same product.

[Q] Bluetooth keyboard repeating characters

Anyone running a bluetooth keyboard with their n10? I just bought the amazonbasics one (the iOS layout one because it has the function key row that the Android one did not). I'm having an issue where the keys are repeating. It seems to be tied to wifi, which follows what I've read elsewhere with other android tablets. I also have a bluetooth mouse attached. At one point I even got wifi and bluetooth to both completely disconnect for a few seconds. It seems like there is some sort of interference. I heard that there were a lot of complaints of the kindle fire doing this but a recent software update seems to have fixed it for them.
Any ideas?
So, it appears that the issue comes down to using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse together. I've tried two bluetooth mice with the same results. If I instead use a Microsoft Wireless 4000 mouse with usb dongle, I no longer have the issue.
Anyone else run into this before?

Try grabbing an app called external keyboard helper pro. I think there is also a free version. I read about tthis problem at some point, can't remember where now. Nexus 7 forum maybe, and someone posted saying that this app fixed the problem. I have been using it and no problems but I don't use my mouse all that often so I am not making promises

I have the AmazonBasics Android version. Although it sounds like you've isolated the repeating chars to the mouse, fwiw, I haven't seen this problem.
What I haven't tracked down is a complete list of keyboard shortcuts. The ones I've found on web and forum searches don't seem right for this keyboard with the N10. Any ideas?
I use a kensington bt kb with bornd bt mouse w motorocker headset.
all work smooth.. at first I thought they wernt pairing coz I was clicking it and it would say making device available ... but thats not what you hit... theres a little thing in the upper right corner of the settings page on bt that tells it to search for devices....

too bad
I am having the same issue while using both bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Individually, they both work flawlessly but only when both connected, wierd things started happenning. I'm using the Logitech K810 and a lenovo N6901 mouse.
After looking around for a bit, this doesn't seem like a new issue, namely BT keyboard and mouse don't play nice with each other. Does anyone know the underlying problem or even a solution? (I thought it was interference at first)
Wifi
+ Logitech Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810
+ Logitech Bluetooth Ultrathin Mouse T630
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (Android 4.1.2) - FAIL
Nexus 7 (Android 4.3 and 4.4) - FAIL
Sony Xperia Z (Android 4.2.2) - SUCCESS
All works well when it is just keyboard or mouse alone.
Maybe the Japanese are better hardware engineers than the Koreans or Taiwanese? :cyclops:
Microsoft Wedge BT keyboard
Bornd (mid-tier mail order) BT mouse
WiFi running
Works OK on 4.3. Cursor was jerky when I (briefly) had 4.4 installed (I've gone back to 4.3). I use the External Keyboard Helper program to remap some of the function keys for Android.
This doesn't address the OP's problem, but I do find that I have to turn on the mouse *before* turning on the keyboard, otherwise the mouse won't connect.
