Removing Live Wallpaper(s) - G Tablet Android Development

Probably a big NEWBIE ?.....
How do you delete a Live Wallpaper(s)?....
I installed 2 I want to delete off the tab....
Searched the web and didnt find much...
I guess the steps are to delete the files, just not sure where they are and
the file extension.....

I installed one today from the nexus s. It shows up in titanium backup and you can remove them there. If its from the market you can uninstall from that too. Hope it helps!

Thanks, I'll give TB a try....
The ones I want to delete were installed from apk's....
You are 100% correct on the ones from the Market...

Ironically, I'm trying to get live wallpapers to work on my gTablet. Can't seem to find ones that work. But still trying.

You can uninstall any user apps via Settings -- Applications (just choose the app in question and choose "uninstall").

[Q] How to install Gmail in in R2.1 ?

Today I went back to 2.1 (data2system LiteXtreme mod for Soft-mod 2.1 20E Final) as my battery was draining rapidly in 2.3.x. Everything looks fine except that there is no Gmail app in this ROM. Market also does not show it. Can somebody point me to Gmail apk.

That was the first thing I did even before posting this question. It does not show up in market place. That is the reason I started looking for apk to install. The first few that I found were all meant for froyo and gingerbread. They don't install correctly on eclair complaining about package parsing error. Then I posted this question hoping someone knows how to do it.
Hi, if you can't post in the proper thread about this version please pm me... here is what you need :
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21630798/Apps/Gmail%20for%20Eclair%202.1.rar
Install both as any other app, DO NOT PUSH TO WHERE SYSTEM APPLICATIONS ARE
Easier way is just drop the .apk's to your sdcard or dropbox and install from there as normal.
As i explained i had to remove many apps and files to make data partition fit in system partition, but if you need a stock app do not doubt in ask me.

Cleaning up bloatware.....

I just finished rooting and installed root explorer and was wondering if there is any unneeded extras I can remove?
Thanks

I wouldn´t remove apps just rename then. Cause Acer looks for the apps when you want to update. Then you get massive problems - just have a look to a lot of topics here...
use search please
I would listen to corn3d79, don't erase the apps. Read around the forums

youre almost better off using PM (android package manager) in a terminal or adb shell to disable or freeze the apps you dont want. you can also do this in apps like titanium backup.
this way, you're not renaming files and later forgetting to name them back to the original files, and it'll keep your 'frozen' settings after updates.

There's advantages to freezing/disabling apps using Titanium Backup or Package Manager (built into Android system). The first one is that its built-in function and you do not have to alter filenames and have to remember to rename them back later. Secondly, I don't think it affects what apps show up in the market place. Some apps require special permissions from certain things like PHONE or CAMERA, etc. If you disable it, I believe it won't affect the marketplace, however if you rename the file, the system doesnt think its there period and will think your tablet is incompatible with the apps.
note: this really only applies to people who are renaming phone.apk, etc.

Thank you. I found that htcgreader app but I don't want to delete it for now since I think I know what app was triggering it. it was the stock News app. so for now I am using a different News app from Market place.

Dont do this when decrapfying your toy!

hi guys! Im new on the forum
Ok, i rooted my galaxy tab 8.9. Then i tried decrapfying my tab, including some system apps: talkback, talk, email, exchange services and ap and stock widgets.
Everything seemed has gone smooth, except now, the Social hub cashes!! seems like it tries to access email database. Can you guys help me and send me the email.apk and email.odex files please? I think the files from both 10.1 or 8.9 work as well.
I also hope that noone after me will delete email.apk as well Cheers!

Are you rooted? Did you make a nandroid backup?
NEVER delete any system apps, just freeze them with Titanium Backup, a much faster and easier to recover option.
Are you not able to re-flash it?

It's all down to individual needs - I always delete the Samsung Apps app, never bother backing it up because I will never want or need to use it.

As far as i know, there is no ROM or firmware for galaxy 8.9 available yet, so i cant reflash now.
I also received from a friendly forums member the email.apk file, but i couldnt install the app (in the files manager i clicked on the apk and selected install but it ended with a "installation failed" message).
Is there any experienced member who can help me?
Just use root explorer to move it into your system/app folder

no, i have tried it, it doesnt help, since it's not installation.
Do a full wipe and start over I guess...and dont forget to do a nandroid backup this time
but how can i do a full wipe since theres no ROM available for 8.9 yet? Or im i missing something?
Best I can do is a copy of the email.apk off my 10.1, good luck with your Tab.

yeah put it into system app then try to install it.
If not, you can try opening stock recovery and wiping through that.

Sorry can't buy PRO version of TB.
Try other Launchers or install "Uninstaller or Debloater" apps. Make sure to back up the deleted app in case of something.
search for "pull up from fake jap" - this was included in my ROM X-Note and works perfectly, you might find a standalone version
do not freeze/uninstall mymag, otherwise the stock sms and e-mail apps will force close from time to time
hope i could help

Oh I wish I've read more before deleting MyMagazine... after rooting with CF & Odin 3.09.
I was unable to restore it using SuperSU, so I tried to copy MagazineHome.apk & .odex to /system/app , but it didn't help. I tried to launch the MagazineHome.apk and install it, but it couldn't install. (i found those filez under the Verizon Note 3 threads... maybe this caused it ? )
or even worse... is Knox causing this?
I'd love to get my Stock email working again without crashing everytime when new mail is coming.
Help anyone?
You need to give permission to magazine.apk and reboot

There is a 'pullup' application made by fakejap. Guess it has been later integrated into official TouchWiz itself by Samsung.
