Dopod 818 pro with problem of resco keyboard

I use to use resco keyboard in my pocket loox (english rom). I found the Chinese keyboad inDopod 818 pro is not convenient to input english. When I use resco keyboard, sometimes it would work as a Chinese keyboard, esp when switching between SIP. Ineed to Change the default keyboard to English and switch back to resco keyboard so that I can type english again. Is There any to fixed this so that resco keyboard can only input english. :x
Resco Keyboard worked terribly on my Qtek. Hard reset, never to install again... Now I use sunnsoft's interwrite, which has over 50 languages, or you can try PDA mill, AEK map, or Paragon's InterType. I found InterWRite and InterType to be the best.
Out of these, unfortunatelly, only InterWrite supported my Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard well...

Software Keyboard Alternative

On my Rapha I`m using a software keyboard which is bringing bigger letters than the little small software keyboard which is original yon the X1.
BUT
ist there a working alternative ?
I tried Touch-IT_Blackstone_Keyboard but this is deleting some letters on the hardware keyboard !
I use resco and it is good.

Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard (Axim XTBT01) key mapping

I bought the Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard (a.k.a. Dell Axim Executive Keyboard with Wireless Technology. Now, the keymapping seems to be off.. that is, the RFn-2 key produces a "@", while the layout on the keyboard shows quotation marks... I've tried the different Layout Settings, but couldn't find the right one. It seems to be an .kbd file, stored on my memory card. Does anyone have experience in editting such a file? What software should I use? Thnx.
I have the same keyboard, using the last German WM5 driver of the now defunct manufacturer (drivers can still be found on the net). If you install the driver of your language version to the device, not the memory card, all keys should be mapped correctly.
Installed on device, still wrong mappings. Could you provide your .kbd file online? Would that solve the problem?
ps. I found my driver on :
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=17&fileid=139841
Were did yours come from?
I never had to mess around with a .kbd file, so cannot help you there. Drivers are here:
http://corporate.igo.com/support/Drivers.asp?ManufacturerID=7&ModelID=16
There was ever really only one type of such keyboard, so I guess key is to find the right driver. If not under Dell, try the HTC drivers instead, use the WM5 drivers for the Prophet phone (Version 4.51)

Bluetooth stack and keyboards

hi!
well, neither my Stowaway bluetooth keyboard, nor Resco Explorer can use Bluetooth on the HD2. For resco there is the Irda/Obex workaround, the keyboard can be used as a regular HID keyboard.
But the latter has the problem that I can not use the specific layout of my keyboard, where the stowaway driver would allow that, but doens't recognize the stack.
any idea how to resolve this?
is it possible to install another bluetooth stack?
is it possible to use a differend keymap for HID keyboards?
thanks
Bernhard
That's strange. My Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard paired straight away and everything works except for the function keys that required additional software.
What happens when you try to pair it?
it does work, but I have a german keyboard, german keyboards have a different layout.
if I could use Stowaways software (that doesn't work with the HD2s bluetooth stack) I could switch to the german stowaway layout.
but if I just pair them, windows mobile uses the US layout, and thus a lot of keys simply don't work or produce wront chars (like if you set your PC keyboard layout to German, the same would happen but the other way round).
so, there would be two solutions:
change the keyboard layout for the HID device
make the stowaway software work on the HD2
;(
hi,
i tried a freedom universal keyboard2, with the same result. the keyboard software dosent work on hd2, and when i pair it via bt, i get a english layout.
i poked around the registry and found the entry HKLM\Drivers\HID\ClientDrivers\Keyboard\DLL. i think the kbdhid.dll is the one wich is responsable for the key mapping. but i'm not sure about that.
regards mad.
I am having the same issue with my German iGo Stowaway keyboard and the Touch Pro 2 (running a wm 6.5.3 ROM). Did you already find any solution to that?

[Q] Galaxy Note for programmers

Folks,
I want to try using the galaxy note as a tool for some quick fixes to the code and services. I want to get a foldable bluetooth keyboard. Setup vi (or emacs) browsing on amazon machine or maybe a skywriter server. I currently use connectbot and hackers keyboard. I have set the hacker's keyboard to a very small size and use the S-pen for typing. It is good for basic browsing.
I am evaluating buying either Nokia su-8w Bluetooth keyboard or Verbatim foldable keyboard. Please let me know if anyone uses such keyboards. The nokia keyboard seems really small but android specific keyboards may have shortcuts to android functions. Can I modify the keymap(xmodmap) file to bring in the same functionality even from the Nokia keyboard.
Any other App suggestions, especially for code browsing (c++, python)?
thanks,
