[Q] CM6.1 and new camera/libraries - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys,
I'm running a modified CM6.1 build and have a kernel (hastarin 8.5.3) which supports the new libraries for the new camera.
I have the new Camera APK installed but when I run it it force closes on me straightaway. I've searched but for some reason can't find my solution.
Anyone got a foolproof manual method of getting this new camera to work??
Thanks in advance.

You also need the some patched libs as well. But I'm not sure which ones as I'm trying to figure this out as well. The only build I've seen with the new camera working is JDMS's 1.6.2 build. I've tried copying the files to a another build but still f/c's. Anyone have an answer for this please?

Anyone? Bumpity bump bump.

Geo-Tagging is EZ... just install a custom rom with Footprints (like the one by NFSFAN) - it is MADE for Geo-Tagging on our phones...
Is there a way of just installing foot print? I just installed the new Verizon rom and spent weeks getting my phone all up and running I would hate to install a new rom and have to go through that all again. Or is there a way to just have the normal htc camera software do that?
Anyone have any luck with this?

[Q] [ROM] "HTC TatFroyoSense" Working Camera?

Is there any chance to get the camera in this rom working???
--> I´ve tried to replace the Camera lib´s with the working Cyanogen Camera lib´s, but the result is the same, as before!
Cyanogen is Android 2.3 and TatFroyoSense is 2.2!
Should i replace the Camera.apk as well or what must i do, to get this working?
Thanks for all helpful anwsers
Let me answer this thread too, it might help someone coming through a search engine You can find the solution in the below threads. You can use the Camera.app and libs from Fyodor's AOSP v0.33, since it's also Android 2.2.

Yay! Dexter has actually released a patch for his ROM, so you can use the original TatFroyoSense v0.4 now This ROM has a full Sense UI and uses the original HTC Camera app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=816580
I post it here, because unfortunately i can not post in the developers-section!
The "official" patch from Dexter is not fully working!!! When i try to make a pic, the screen turns black, nothing happens and no image is saved.
When i start the camcorder app extra, it´s shows preview and i can record everything, but when is stop the record, it´s the same as above!
Now, i try another Camera app or the "unofficial"-patch from tolgainci and test it out....
I tried Dexter's Camera fix and the Still Camera worked fine with the original HTC camera app. But you can try my alternative method as well, that also works. Here's my post in Dexter's thread:

[Q] Get older HyperDroid v5.3.0

Hello
Could anyone upload HyperDroid v5.3.0 for cLK or tell me, where I can download it, please?
I can't find it anywhere, there is only newer v5.5.0 version on xda, however it doesn't work properly on my HD2.
The full filename was:
HyperDroid-CM7-v5.3.0-Jumping_Jaguar-cLK-signed.zip
Peter
I had no luck in finding it at XDA or on Androidmeda's download repository...Did find a download link at a chinese website though:
http://bbs.xda.cn/thread-10874442-1-1.html(didnt know there was such a thing as a Chinese xda...seems like them Chinese replicate pretty much everything now haha!)
u need to view it in Google Chrome to translate the page.but the catch is it requires you to register to download.Your call. But i recommend that you should get to the root of the problem on why the latest build is not booting. Im sure its easier than hunting for the older build. What problem are you exactly facing?.Maybe i can help you with it?
I have successfully installed 5.5.0, but it was just slower than 5.3.0 - the app drawer animation wasn't smooth.
Thanks a lot!

[Q] FirefoxOS on HTC Explorer ported by @nithish_cbe

Hi all:
Just installed FirefoxOS ported to htc explorer by @nithish_cbe following the instruccions in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472208
Great job!. It`s very nice looking, good performance and most things are working.
I would like to report an isssue when installed and started the system is asking for updating. If I update it, when restarted the system does not start, so I have to reflash with CWM.
Any ideas? May I don't update until new version is out?
THX in advance.

[ROM] PostmarketOS for HTC HD2

Hi,
I have recently ported PostmarketOS with the help of the developers of the os. It is an initial port, so only display, touchscreen and charging work. 3D acceleration seems to be broken for now, same as other things such as wifi and stuff. The only tested UI for now is xfce4, as it can run on the framebuffer. If someone is willing to help with the port, it would be great For now I'll try to make wifi and bluetooth work.
Here is the link to the device page on the pmOS wiki, flashing instructions are also there : https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/HTC_HD2_(htc-leo))
Update : wifi works now too

Hi Dominduchami, thanks for your work.

Is there a download link there?
@Robbie P Hi. There isn't really any download link, but in the link to the wiki there's an installation guide. You'll just have to install pmbootstrap and follow the instructions there. If there is a need for it, I can also make an image of the sd card with the rootfs, but I think it wouldn't be really practical, because alpine linux is updated all the time

Hi.
Sorry for the late reply. I'm not really working on it right now and I don't plan on doing anything with it in the near future. If you want to work on it however, I can give you some advice on how to set up the environment and such, if you want. The things that probably can be also made working are audio and bluetooth, graphics acceleration is afaik not possible in pmos with such old kernel.
Can you upload sd card with rootfs images ? please
