Wich version are you using, i tried to update to froyo, but only seem to get version I5800BOJH1 to work (other versions hanged)
Wich versions are you using? (want to update to froyo), seems like 5801 has problems wich updating (or the problem can be me too ofcourse)
update:
I5800XWJH3 Working (2.1)

I'm using I5800XXJP9 with no problems, was using JPA but lagged horribly. Only thing I'm not happy with is that i cant seem to be able to root my phone with this firmware

yes, I did, but jm2 does contain flash 9
The jm2 Version over Kies is for brandet SGS only, or isn't it. As far i know Flash comes with Froyo.

Just upgraded to XEU Froyo 2.2.1

Just upgraded using registry hack,
my phone is so snapier, no more lag at all.
I was wondering is it still with the rfs system file, or what did they do to this firmware, that they couldn't managed before.
I have tried a few lagfixes before but none of them fixed the lag this much.
This is how it should be from the beginning.

I have upgraded too, same method , this build is far better than the previous JP5 (it was an italian H3G build). Although this morning i had to reboot because UI crashed while trying to open wifi settings... :?
I think i will sure offer a beer to Nodial for good work.
What about this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881532 ?

Use the right odin for your phone

Seen lots of posts by members having problems after flashing using the wrong version of odin for their phone.
Please beware odin versions are device specific and using the wrong software to flash your phone is dangerous. Make sure you get the right one.

i always use odin 1.3. so far so good.
i have always used odin 1.7 (not knowing i shouldnt)
but never had any issues so far.... i prefer it over the other versions
if u are not using window 7 then should be no problem.

Same here, no problems so far. Win 7 (64)
I am going to suggest that a reading of the post gives not what the OP claims but a upgrade order for Odin versions . Samsung are hardly likely to give multiple versions of Odin to tech repair .
needs a tech repair guy to put us straight i use Odin 1.3 on SGS1 and SGS 2

[Q]Dutch XEN Official Gingerbread 2.3.3 stock rom

Hi guys. I saw on samfirmware that stock ROM CSC: I9000XENJV4 is available for download. I'm guessing this is Netherlands official GB 2.3.3 stock rom. Unfortunately if I open Kies to update my phone it says that I'm using the latest firmware (2.2.1 CSC = I9000XENJS3; I9000XWJS5).
Has anyone managed to update to GB directly using Kies to this version?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
I think I9000XENJV4 is only available on samfirmware at the moment. I'm also on 2.2.x and kies doesn't show updates.
Samfirmware was wrong, see his tweet some moments later:
@SamFirmware Update KIES for Netherlands not online yet. Galaxy S.
Samfirmware shows firmware-files - i just flashed my SGS with the xen-firmware and it works like a charm... So the update may not be available through KIES but the firmware files are available from SamFirmware.com
I do not understand this Samsung policy..why Nordic countries got it months before....testing purposes or what??
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I guess so. I used the Nordic version a long time
Thank you very much for your answers. I thought it is something wrong with my phone or kies since I cannot find for that specific CSC. In this case I'll be waiting a little bit more. Anyhow, it's weird that XEN firmware isn't out for gingerbread since NEE is out for more than one month.
Now available by kies I9000XWJVH/I9000XENJV4/I9000XXJVO/I9000XWJVH

Is there somthing more simple like a one click, i dont want to use odin.

Is there any way to know what are T9 and swype languages in this rom without having to flash it?
Or any other rom for that matter?
Startup sound is not smooth on my phone but interrupted. Same with voice announcements in the Osmand navigation program. MP3s play fine though.
Had some problems with widgets. Songbird needed readding the widget after program restart.
Jorte calandar had its widget not showing. After updating some fight to get it to work with the Google calendar, but that was not 2.3.3/JVH's fault.
I'm on GT-9000 / 2.3.3 stock /I9000XXJVO/GINGERBREAD.XWJVH/ stock kernel at the moment still as well.
Used the last voodoo before on Froyo but I'm not too keen on flashing anything right now right away to root again. I'd love to get voodoo on it again (mainly because of the audio features and obviously the lagfix) however the latest voodoo kernel for gingerbread on JVH stll seems to be based on older sources then the one samsung just released from what i've read.
As soon as there is a stable Voodoo (without the word "hack" in it) for JVH, i'm flashing
At least I have 3 button combo's now working after updating to the 2.3.3 XWJVH XEN. They didn't work for me before!

Hang on that is interesting!!
Mine worked before and still do, but a friend of mine has one that didn't have the 3 button combo so im interested to see what'll happen there.
Dit yours never work or did they stop working after a custom rom?
3 button combo indeed start working after this update
I just checked mine, after reading the thread and yes I can confirm mine never worked before but after this update to 2.3.3,it started working.
That's nice.

That's because the gingerbread update contains the SBL (Secondary Boot Loader).
The sbl is responsible for the 3-button combo.

[Q] using the latest official 2.3.5 (beta)

Hi, so my question is, all the tutorials of installing cwm etc (like u8800 ultimate guide) are done and meant for the official overseas version, is the latest version good to be used with the tutorials meant for overses, or will i run into problems? i understand that these versions are like the same just with a few fixes
thank you.
