htc home customizer

has anyone else problem with the htc home customizer??
i need to take a hard reset after rebooting

You have to change the originale HTC Home with Kaiser.HTC.Home.v2.0.814.722-schen
But i prefer keep 4 tabs 'cause the display is smaller and tabs would became too small

finally I need to restore the backup file ....

I used HHC without installing any homeplugins.
Just installed HHC and modfied the original homeplug from the device.
No problems so far.
But i have a xda star (o2 branded dual), so the roms may differ...

Same here it crashed on me!! had to hard reset! I guess it only works with certain touch dual ROM's e.g. O2.

Hi Folks.. just tried the HHC also and cant enter the device lock code.. no response of any soft or hard key of my nike (o2 xda star)
any chance to solve that without hard reset? made so many customizations without backing up

Hi guys, when you installed the customizer into the phone, did you ever see an error message "Can't find the tapsetting" ? I guess this is the main problem ....

DO NOT touch the "Tabsetting" key!!
i tried to manually add the "Tabsetting" key under HTCHome... now, like after installing HHC, all soft & physical keys not responding.
hard reset in progress...

seems the HTCHome version can really handle this key... yet i couldn't find the right data type and data value to enable the music player tab.... i could only find some possible values that lead to zero tab or disabling all soft & physical keys.

I've a worster problem that is after install htc customizer my touch Dual goes nuts and neither soft and hard reset solved the problem.
I say worster, because at this moment I even can't start my Touch Dual. It block always or in windows screen or in PIN screen and don't let me write anything.
I don't have more ideas.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Stupid manual..... say to do ENTER to reset phone, but do not specified that enter is not exactly the enter key of keypad but it's the key in middle of direction cursors that is between RED and GREEN keys.
At least I hope this helps anyone.

UK Orange Touch Dual here, no problem with HHC at all

U have to change the language of the HHC, i had the same problem with italian HHC and English Home plugin.
After reboot, WM6 don't loads. ( sorry 4 my bad english )

Haven't encounter no problems, works smoothly and nicely.

bad alignment in sense and other programs

hi everybody, i installed my mobiler (so i can control my hd2 from my pc) and since then my sense main screen 'moved up' (hard to explain..look at pics).
i can see in the bottom right the my mobiler icon..but even if i disable it and softreset..well the screen is still miss-aligned (the icon is not there anymore).
my guess is that even other programs that have this type of icon would cause the same thing..
anybody experienced this b4? any help

Yeah, MyMobiler shows down there but only when you have the standard wm 6.1 plugin home screen. It shouldn't appear there while sense is activated. I have it installed also and it doesn't show up. Try disabling sense and enable it back and see what happens.

yup..i already tried uninstalling..disabling and deleting reg and then restart phone and/or sense...it stays the same .. pls help...i dont wanna hard reset again...just got everything working as i wanted...

oh..and by the way, de unde ai gasit un hd2 in rom?

i had the same problem just after the install of e-Natives Showcase
i don't know if is this program to create the issue but just after i removed it the phone went back to normal.

Just a thought, but in
start - settings - all settings - today - items
is there anything more than just HTC sense ticked? Could be that it is trying to show the app, and then show the senseui which is then trying to stack.

having this problem too, created a thread on it already http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618299 but i just found this one now
guess i will remove the showcase app and see what happens
as for your suggestion, good idea, but nope nothing else is checked for me.

[App] 18 buttons Action Screen with Wifi & BT state indicator

I have adapted the HD 18 buttons Action Screen, with Wifi and Bluetooth status indicator, to the Rhodium bluetooth stack.
All credit goes to Wedge666 (thread here), to posters in his thread for customisation and of course to first Action Screen developper (I would quote him if I knew. Anyone knows? Or was it adapted from a HTC application?).
As in the original from Wedge666, you trigger with Manila Home tab right soft key, and you can configure program to make it running in background if you wish (quicker?). You have no confirmation message on shut down or reset.
You get advice about installation and basic customisation explanation in the HD thread.

EDIT : on Roms with Action Screen already installed, it may be difficult to completely uninstall this version. And you need to apply the fix here.

I attach here the version I use now, black and white except for the network status indicator, plain black background. Links to Pocket informant, Opera Mobile, Resco Explorer, Tomtom.. but this is easy to change, as explained in the HD thread. I may personalize it later (the favorite people button is a "heart" game card now).

not showing up
i followed instructions for this by installing mortscript then .net.
nothing showed up on home tab.
the softkeys phone(L) and menu(R) still remain from rom .
im using HTCSense2.5 Landscape|Rhodium_AF|WM65 23529 by ark on my att tilt 2.
so by using total commander i see that it is intalled and the config icon is in start menu and folder in windows.
but how do i make a softkey for this or shortcut or something?

i soft reset after every step.
action screen works, but i had to find link via total commander.
only action screen config had link in start up menu.
i copied paste action screen link to start up menu via total commander but link was not pretty and i dont know how to change its icon.
also, neither the left or right soft key changed after installation as mentioned in my previous post.
any help is much appreciated.
could it be the rom i am using?

If you feel like to change the registry (take care, if you do some wrong change you could have to hard reset), you can go to HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila
then change HomeRSKPath to \Windows\ActionScreen\LauchAction.exe and HomeRSKText to Action. Afetr reset you should see "Action" on the right low corner of the Home tab of Manila. If it does not work I do not know, maybe you shopuld ask on your Rom thread...

Here is the version I use now. I added text, and warnings for Power Off and Reset. Customized to my needs, you have to see explanations in the HD thread to customize it to yours.

I do not use Photoshop, the freeware Paint.net does the basic work. The icons could be nicer, if you make or find some nice icons, please share the background and the icons so that we can use it!

Actually I configure the Home button to launch Action Screen, with this excellent application : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240
You can do the same wih Power Button long press.

How do i unistall???? I tried and it wont let me?????

Sorry about this, but I uninstalled a number of times with no problem, just with Settings / System /Remove Programs... Did you try a reset ?

Close HTCActionScreen.exe manually.

You need to close the Action Screen process manually using a task manager like dotfred's or schap's. You're looking for HTCActionScreen.exe.

did that it wont let me and when i try to overwrite it tells me i dont have proper permission.

tried a reset and it wont let me uninstall

when i try to overwrite or uninstall i get this message. i dont want to hard reset but i think i might. cause now my phone freezes when i go to my action screen. and yes i have mortscript and sdk installed. i cant do anything. i get that message. when i kill process i go back to try to uninstall and will just stay there iin programs list

I am wondering if it is not a problem with another version of action screen installed on the Energy ROM. Can you see another one in "remove program" ? Maybe this 18 button action screen is not compatible with the Energy Rom (I have a stock Rom).

Try using Total Commander to rename the extension of HTCActionScreen.exe to .ext or something like that. If it let's you, restart the device and you should be in business.

cannot uninstall cookies hometab 1.8.5

hi everyone im trying to uninstall cookies 1.8.5 due to the menu on the home page not workin at all. it highlights when i press it but nothing happens. i cant edit home layout or wallpapers or chteditor itself. it does work from the windows menu but not the the menu tab located at the bottom right of the screen. i was messing with the home layout personalizing it as ive had it since it came out (1.8.5). i had the previous cookies version before and never had a problem (1.7.1, 1.8.0). ive installed a quite a few apps including notification colors and colors for toggle and switches made by dinik that come in the 1.8.5 version of cookies. dont think theres any issues there as ive had them for a while now. i was going to uninstall cookies and reinstall it as im sure it everything would go back to normal again, but i try to and it say "not all of the program could be deleted do you want to remove from programs list?" i press yes but doesnt even erase it from the installed programs list. im stuck dont want to hard reset unless i really have to any advice? also i uninstalled the toggle and switches colors cab and the icons themselves have dissapeared except for the text under it but they do work when i click on them. i have the tmous hd2 with stock rom 2.10.531. thank for any help

I think this was a bug in 1.8.5, for some ROM's , I think there is an updated version, maybe just install over the top both the CHT and the Editor ...
I am not sure of this but I think I read it somewhere if I see it I will post it ...

this is something else i reinstalled cht on top of it and now seems like cht is completely removed besides the editor? that was kind of weird! im goin to reinstall it one more time to see what happens!!

Have you tryed closing HTC Sense before you uninstall Cookie.
Had a problem removing a previous version of Cookie but closed Sense and then went to remove applications and it removed ok. Then just restarted Sense and everything was ok.

thanks guys for your help. what i did was reinstalled over the existing cookies 1.8.5 that was already there. i restarted the phone and all of cht was completely removed, how, i have no idea! so i installed it a second time and now everything is the way it should. sounds odd but whatever works i guess. so anyone that cant uninstall cht using the remove programs feature just install cht over the existing one and it should remove it completely, atleast for me it did! install it a second time and you should have it working fine. or take "rutster" advice wich seems the more reasonable way of doing it. would of tried that first but couldnt wait for people to post their advice! thanks though as i will try that next time i have an issue like this one!

that usually works with most things that give you an error when trying to remove them...... took me a while to figure out too.....

go to your settings tab.......
press menu (bottom right soft key)
all settings.....
today........
items tab......
uncheck sense and check windows default.....
ok..........
do what you need to do.....
just go back there to restart sense........

I have more or less the same problem: can't remove cookies home tab 1.85 from my HTC Pro 2, 6.5 device. I've read all the posts but nothing is exact the same.
I'have installed CHT 1.85 but it didn't work at all, later I tried to install CHT 2.00, the installation was not succesful because Pro 2 tries to remove CHT 1.85 first which appeared to be impossible. (Senze of, erarse RAM fully). Looks like system got froozen while undeleting. Please help because CHT looks great and very useful.Thanks

Remove cookie.cab how to get home screen back to normal

I install the cookies cab and cannot get home screen back to normal all my icons comes up in start menu . i dont have to homescreen anymore. restart numerous times and nothing. i uninstall the apps and restart but nothing. am im missing something. please help! thxs in advance.....

dont set windows as default , set HTC Sence as default

i set as HTC SENSE as default and reset phone. nothing still the same issue.
same recieve the same issue. nothing happen.

try installing cookies home tab again, if that doesnt work there is always possible to hard-reset

How about configuring CHT to look like the stock home screen? Eg, set only one screen for 9 quicklinks can be configured I think...
In my experience, uninstalling CHT stops Sense from loading. Never an issue for me though as I am upgrading CHT when I do this.

Try read Troubleshooting: at [Manila Mod][19-Jun-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v1.8.5
Q: After uninstaling CHT, sense doesn't work, or it works but the home menu doesn't come up.
A: Copy \windows\home_pages.xml to \windows\manilaxml\home_pages.xml (overwrite existing file). Then delete \windows\manilafull.xml and soft reset.
