[Q] How to activate 4 finger touch for defy? - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello folks,
does anybody know how to activate the 4 finger touch for our defy like on the droid and milestone? The defy is supporting this i think because the panels are similar to droid and co. Allready ive changed the multitouch value on build.prop with no affects. Thank you guys

Nobody here who have a solution for this ?

no idea...

Call me stupid..
But, what on earth are you doing with 4 fingers on the screen at once

Just off the top of my head it can be used for running emulators. The other day I was trying to play super mario all stars (SMB3) and couldn't run and then jump while holding the sprint button because I was already holding the control pad to move, the sprint button to gain speed to fly. The jump button wouldn't register.

I hadn't given that any thought.
My biggest thought was just trying to imagine what kind of gestures someone would be making with 4 fingers on a screen.

[Q] Milestone 2 Strange Touch Screen Problem

I've just got the Milestone 2 for 5 days and now I realize the very strange and annoying problem of the touch screen. When I played some FPS game like Nova or Sandstom, sometimes when I tried to aim the character didn't aim the way that I aim but he move that way even I did not touch the virtual move pad. I used the Touch Screen test apps to test. First I touch and hold my 1st finger to have 1st point, then I touch my 2nd finger to have 2nd point. Then I leave my 1st finger so there would be the 2nd point left on the screen but when I use my 1st finger to touch the screen, my 2nd point change to 1st point and at my 1st finger phosition is the 2nd point. It's mean 2 point had changed their position to each other and that's why that strange thing happened when I play the game. The Milestone 1 doesn't have this problem in the game and when using the Test app the 2nd point still remain at my 2nd position after my 1st finger retouch the screen. Is this a firmware bug or there is any problem with my hardware ? Please help me.
Motorola Milestone 2 touch screen problem
Dude, try with a screen protector, problem should disappear. I also met identical problem with my Droid 2 but I detected just after 3 days of bought, so the seller has changed the new phone for me and now its ok.
For easily showing problem, you can download a paint soft with full screen ability, start it and then do some quick swipe across the screen, you will see the strange undesired streaks appear somewhere on screen
Man, I'm using the screen protector too. The screen just fine when using single touch but it will act funny when using multi touch like play game. Mine is not the only one, my girl friend milestone 2 has this problem too. I though this is a software failure not the hardware. Just play Nova or Sandstom with the Ms 2 and you will see the problem.

[Q] Physical button for call answer on Android.

Hi people!
I leave i Sweden and it's very cold here right now. Anybody want to take their gloves of to answer calls on a touch screen Android phones.
We (north people) need an app that makes it possible to answer the calls with physical button.
I use HTC Desire. I think that the optical joystick button in the middle would be perfect. Or may be a search button? It is on all the android phones.
hmm, that may an issues for all Touchscreen device..
At Walmart, they have gloves that allow you to use touch screens while wearing them. They are awesome I have tested them on my Droid Incredible and my ipod touch that has a screen protector on it.
Well, I think it's much better to get an app. I can even pay for it on Market.

You cannot press more than two keys at the same time on a G2

I'm huge into gaming, and recently switched my Cliq to a G2. Now I'm regretting the purchase after finding out the physical keyboard can only register two keys pressed at once.
What a mess that is, the Cliq, however slower it was, is capable of pressing more than two keys at once without any problem... and despite its hardware limitations, seems to be the better phone for gaming.
Is there any way to fix this? Am I in trouble with this?
No more Hadoken.
GG.
I don't use my phone very much for emulators, but just what are you talking about? I can use mEnu+x and mEnu+v to cut and paste, hist alt+a to get ! And tons of other keyboard combinations in day to day usage. Maybe its not the phones fault, but the emulator?

Mejor, those combinations you're describing are two key combinations, I was speaking of combinations that are more than two keys.
I've tried it on different programs as well, doesn't seem to work at all.
Mario kart on snesoid seems to register accelerate, turn, + jump on the corners fine.
wileykat, what's your controls? I've been having alot of problems, holding down the run, changing directions and being able to jump on my controls in Super Mario. Just alot of problems with it for me.
I'm using The Gameboid/Snesoid/Nesoid emulators specifically. Never had problems with them on my Cliq, so weird to see it die like that on a G2.
The hardware is definitely capable of registering at least 3 buttons simultaneously. Using custom key mappings, you can program in ALT+SHIFT+{key} combinations.

Just tried Mario Allstars,..... When using directions + B and Y for run/jump I get issues with the 3rd keypress being registered, but using A and X seems to work everytime!!! You could well be on to something here.
I'm really hoping it can be fixed, I have a bad feeling though, as I rooted and custom rommed my phone to Cyangenmod BECAUSE of this issue, and it has so far not worked.
It may very well be a hardware issue, which I'm concerned isn't something anyone can do.
How exactly do you push more than 2 buttons at a time with only 2 thumbs? Or do you use your nose. Though the keyboard DEFINITELY supports 3+, it is extremely difficult to do so.
You use some damn weird keys imo...
wasz for controls
jkmn for face buttons
io for LR buttons
this is what i use and ive beaten many snes games like that without any problems beside it being hard to hit sholder buttons while doing moves.
I prefer using X for down rather than Z to minimise risk of hitting the menu button, no other reason.
It seems as if you can't press more than 2 keys directly next to each other (e.g. pressing x and c it won't register z but it will register v) and sometimes pressing 2 keys directly next to each other will disable that entire row (e.g. anything on the top row)
The way I saw this is with musical pro (you can use musical lite if you don't want to pay for it) and use the 2 row keyboard.

dhkr123, as with a controller, players usually can use the tip of their thumb to hold down one button and the bottom of the thumb to press another. This is along with the usage of the other keys as a "directional pad".

I just tested out Super Mario Allstars on Snesoid Lite with the following controls:
Up - W
Down - Z
Left - A
Right - S
A - K
B - M
X - I
Y - J
L - U
R - O
I could hold run and jump, while moving left and right through the air in SMB3. The only problem I've ran into so far is that it's almost impossible to hit up+left or down+right at the same time, so I just mapped those to Q and X. Hope this helps.
Seems to me you guys were dead on, I guess the G2 can't register two buttons being pressed together. I've changed my controls and so far everything's going fine. Thanks everyone!
I'm not having a problem with the emulators on my phone...weird.
Wiimote+Wii Classic Controller Pro+Wiimote Controller App=WIN!
I haven't had those issues with the keyboard, though. Odd. I use E
S D
X plus the U P for shoulders, I O J K for face buttons. Never has an issue with that.

[Q] Side Key Panel + Reduce Screen Size?

Hello, I have a simple question that can be asked calmly and politely and I do not require or ,ask for or expect any rude or such matter, backlash for this question but I am asking if there is a mod or work around or module to get the side key panel and reduced screen size on the Galaxy Note 4 Snapdragon at the same time. Why do I ask this? Because when I am using my nondominant hand and are laying down I have experienced having to yet again pull my finger all the way down to the bottom of the screen to press any sort of software/hardware key button. Please answer responsively and respectively as I am only 15 years old but I am acutely aware of my knowledge around Android so do not test to me.

Emulation issues across most retro emulators

Hello all, just joined because I couldn't find info on this on the web, at least no info that included answers.
I have most of my GBA collection backed up and often load the roms onto my Android phone to emulate. I have never encountered this issue until now, with my first OnePlus phone. This leads me to believe that it is an issue with the phone/phone settings rather than the emulators themselves.
I use the touch screen controls when playing GBA. The buttons are not registering my presses unless I hold down the button for a second or two. All input requires me to touch and hold the button. I digged through my phone settings but nothing stood out that could be causing this.
Everything else with the phone has been great, but this is definitely a deal breaker that will force me to switch back to Google devices.

Hey there,
Using MyBoy emulator, and a super Mario Bros room, I had 0 input lag. Has to be something on your side. Positive here is that it's not One plus phones

That's good news, I really like this phone otherwise. I guess it could still be something in the phone settings though. I have my emulators set up exactly how I had them before.
I'm also using MyBoy GBA.
Figured it out! The triple tap to zoom feature in the phone settings was causing it. Turned it off and it works normal now.
