Samsung apps not working - Galaxy Tab General

I just received my Galaxy Tab, but the Samsung Apps do not seem to work. When I launch the app, I just receive the message "No updates available", and I do not get acces to any apps or games. I have a "clean" Tab, not infected by any carriers
Anyone with solutions? I have tried both with 3G and Wi-Fi and I have tried to clear all app related data.

Where did you get the tab? If its from the states then you wont see any apps. Its only if change your country code to like France or uk that you will see apps. There's nothing worth getting from the app store anyway. Trust me your not missing out.

I bought it in Denmark in a electronics shop. We should be able to get access in Denmark. I guess I will have to settle if there is no solution but I would have liked some games fitting the screen size - especially since I saw a golf game
At least compatibility mode works

i'm also hoping it will bring us much of apps/games fit for the tab, and meanwhile there is only one app appears, it's no doubt now the repository is depending on the location, like any other software store
is.

I have discovered that you can get great games directly from Gameloft and they fit the screen perfectly. Unfortunately the games I bought for my Nexus One cannot be transferred to the tab, but I have just contacted their support by mail, hoping they can help All games are available in trial versions as well.

Clean tab in Hungary, same problem, apps is empty

I managed to get "Samsung Apps" to work properly for my local area (yeah, it's location/product -specific). Because I flashed unofficial firmware early-on in my ownership of the Galaxy Tab, I quickly "lost" the default Product Code for the UK, which is CPW. Instead, I had multi-CSC installed (which offers CPW) but initialized with KOR, the wrong country code ! (for both the 3e Recovery mode and the normal boot)
Fortunately, "SGS Toolbox" revealed that an automatic backup of the original product code was available in /efs/, so I wouldn't have to perform a full IMEI initialization (*#272*....#). All I had to do was to make a backup of the /efs/ folder to my external SD CARD (better safe than sorry !), as well as a full Titanium Backup (yeah, I'm paranoid ), followed by deleting nv_data.bin (and its .md5 peer), and renaming .nv_data.bak (and its .md5 peer) to nv_data.bin. I also edited the contents of /efs/imei/mps_code.dat to replace KOR with CPW. Easy. Reboot, check "Samsung Apps", and there is a few more apps in the list ! (not many though, like less than 10)
Cheers, Dan

How did you know there was a backup using SGS Tools? I seem to missing this information.

"SGS Toolbox" --> "Check Product Code" =>
* No backup .nv_data.bak found!
or:
* Backup found
... something like that
Beware: each time this function is called, some 2MB data backup is created in this folder:
/sdcard/ProductCodeCheck/

That's odd, I don't see this option anywhere.

Sweet thanks, for some reason I downloaded sgs tools instead of toolbox :/

Great success, thanks daniel.weck. Quick question though: Now that I have a backup of my own, I remembered that I only had like one samsungapp. Since you mentioned that you had around 10 and some other had around 14, I'm kinda liking that and wondering if I can just use your or someone elses nv_data file instead? Would you tell if there would be any issues with that?

CPW
I just switched from EUR(Which I switched from KOR using the IMEI/Reset method), this time using the renaming/editing method and rebooted. My product code is now CPW according to SGSToolbox but the store now just shows the single app (radio companion).
It showed 2 apps on "EUR" (+= blinkxbeat)
Anyone got suggestions on the cause and solution?
P.S. I assume CPW == Carphone Warehouse? My tab actually came from PCWorld. Shame i didn't backup the original ROM before flashing, It had Nova and showed several apps and a couple extra things that i can't seem to find anymore.

I think the nv_data is IMEI-dependent.

I still don't understand what's going on. My Tab that's on JJ7 abduction set to CPW doesn't show anything, the other is untouched on JJ3, also CPW but it world fine? Does the build.prop also play a part?

Yeah I'm having same result, I followed daniel's method of restoring without resetting and it does now show BMC but still no apps there. Used to have at least one.

I tried doing this the full way and it seems CPW doesn't exist in the list, I think this is the problem, and the reason the manual method does not work.
we will need to find the right files for CPW I think.

i have a problem with my samsung apps..my samsung apps cannot download if i dowload the persen only 0%...have a solution?

Hi *,
as daniel.weck I also lost my product code after flashing the JM6 ROM. I followed the instructions to revert back to my original product code (DBT for Germany) but I still only see "blinkx" as app in the Samsung Store.
With the stock ROM, there was NFS:Shift, Asphalt 5 and a couple more apps.
Any ideas what to do next to get all apps back in the store? I already cleared the cache and data of Samsung Apps but it didn't help
Edit: just ignore me people. I did the factory reset using *#272*IMEI# so I could select DBT and now it's working fine

[REQUEST] PLEASE HELP: Failed A500 update due to damaged Maps.apk

It is frustrating to be constantly reminded that an update is available (Acer_1.139.05_Com_Gen1) while the update process fails because of a damaged or missing file.
In my case this is Maps.apk
The log file reminds me that not only is the Maps.apk not correct (hash sum is wrong), but there is no record of a cached version in a file called saved.file
So, can one of the bright sparks here help with a Step by Step guide for n00b to remedy this for me and others in a similar pickle.
The hardware is fine; this is a software issue.
I do have Better Terminal Pro installed and a SD card.
Please post suggestions/solutions here and/or DM me.
I think this is a flaw in their update process. They allow Google Maps to be updated via market. After you allow the market to update the apk, the file hash is no longer the same. Now, Acer is expecting you to be on the original Maps.apk in order to process their differential update. It would seem that this could even happen to non-rooted tablets, so this is not a good idea for Acer to be doing it this way. Until we know for sure, I would advise folks to not allow Google Maps to update via market unless they have a backup copy of their original .apk.
You will need to obtain the original maps.apk that came with 1.016.05_COM_GEN1 and replace the .apk and matching .odex (if their is one) in /system/apps. You will need to use mount the /system in r/w mode in order to do with with root explorer etc. After you have done, the updater should get past this issue. Their are device dump system images posted in a dev thread that you can extract to get the .apk. There is a tool (can't think of the name at the moment) that allows you to extract these dd images.

That is absolutely absurd and ridiculous practice by Acer !!
it also confirmed my finding ( regarding FLASH )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14181655&postcount=100
legal market apps updates all the time... Do they (Acer) expected us to stay put with the originals at all time ??
If I read you correctly, I have to have root in order to put these file(s) back ?
What if I don't want to root and keep my device stock like the majority of "regular" users but I did updated (maps, flash...etc ) ?? DANGGGG !!!
getting more and more like Apple way of practice !!
ARGGHHH !
I love this device !, but the more and more I found things about Acer.... won't be a repeat customer, that's for sure !.... Thankful for XDA's members helping out though

This is NOT something that happens as a matter of course. You must have some issue with your specific device as the updates work perfectly fine with apps updated from the market.
So far, you are the ONLY one reporting this issue, therefore it must be a local problem.
Exchange your unit.

I just did a factory reset again just for the sake of seeing what files are in the "system/app" folder...
SAME, 122 files...
my stock device does not have the following 3 files...
BooksTablet.apk
LinkToAdobeFlash.apk
LinkToAdobeFlash.odex
as soon as I setup, it notified me there's update available in market ( maps )... I declined, and this unit is COMPLETELY STOCK.... no flash update either.
I wondered if it has anything to do with my device being on the kernel & build # of:
1.016.05_COM_GEN1 ( Kernel 2.6.36.3-00001-gf991e5d )
read it somewhere that my kernel/build came with flash 10.2 and earlier build ( the ones that are getting the updates now ) came with flash 10.1
just trying to tie 2 & 2 together
I can't just exchange the unit do to the fact that I cannot prove there is something wrong when going into the store....
will wait and see when the update roll out for my particular build # then...
I wondered if anyone with the same build & kernel as me seeing the same thing
Bear in mind that the updates are incremental and are designed to go FROM a specific build TO a newer build. You should not try to use an update that's for a different build number... That's why they're not appearing for everyone. Acer need to create the builds first, then stagger the releases.
Can you go into the application settings and choose uninstall updates under google maps? I'm not familiar with honeycomb. But i know 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 have this feature available for system apps

I have no idea why your Maps.apk is invalid. I have updated mine just fine from Market and I ain't getting such issues.
But well, one of the easiest ways of fixing that could be to just reinstall a stock ROM. Of course, it means you'll lose some (most) of your settings and have to redo it all, but.. well, atleast you'd have the OS back as it is supposed to be and future update should work again.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15914563#post15914563 if you decide to go that route.

URGENT - Root Certificate Expiring + Fix

You may not know the root certificate needed for your webOS device is going to expire 23 July, 2013...
This certificate is needed for setting up a profile, backup/restore, App Catalog access and any other HP cloud services that webOS devices depend on.
The fix is announced and is coming today!!!!!
http://www.webosnation.com/hp-issue...-ensure-continued-access-webos-cloud-services
Pro Tips:
If your device has been dormant, make sure you update the date and time before attempting the App Catalog Update. This is valid up until July 22, 2013.
JULY 23, 2013 & LATER: You will need to set your date back to July 22, 2013 to connect to HP's servers and get the update.
The update is available through Software Manager as an update to the HP App Catalog application. I found it easier to open the App Catalog and search for new apps. There is an Update available for download/install under the name App Catalog Update with HP listed as the publisher/developer. It seems to install better this way. I tried 3 different devices: TouchPad, Veer and Pre 2. In the end, the method I describe (set date/use App Catalog and not Software Manager) was the one that woked on Pre 2 which was the most stubborn of the 3.
If you get stuck: reboot, make sure your date and time are current (up to 22-07-13) or is set to July 22nd (use from 23-07-13 and beyond). Then get the Update from the App Catalog itself.
New activations from 23-07-13 onward are supposed to be able to get through First Use and then auto-update the certificate...
How does one review the root certificate on the device?

Use Internalz Pro to navigate to and open:
/etc/ssl/certs/trustedcerts/PalmWebOS.pem
Or use WOSQI to pull a copy from that location...
Didn't receive the update notification on both my Pre+ and my Pre3 (o2 germany), so I had to install the update manually via "HP Catalog Update" App in the App Catalog.
On my Touchpad, when I try to install "HP Catalog Update", I get an error...

Manually check your certificate (as shown above). Some are reporting that they have the new cert even after the fail message...
I use an unlocked UK Pre3 which recently received the update. I also have a spare AT&T Pre3 activated only once previously to network unlock. Due to the silly Palm/HP single-profile-device policy and some minor application incompatibilities, when I activated the AT&T Pre3 using the same webOS profile and then returned to the UK model, some apps were screwed etc. and I had to re-setup a few. Although not a major headache, I assume the same would happen if I reactivate the AT&T Pre3 to get the certificate update.
Is there a better way?
Can my AT&T model get the update from the HP server without it trying to restore the config from my UK model?
If not, on reactivating my UK model, can I use Save/Restore to revert with ease and let it re-upload that config to the HP servers?
Any other suggestions? I would appreciate your advice.

Either use the Bypass Activation method and get the update via App Catalog after some further manipulations under Impostah... http://www.webosnation.com/bypass-activation-webos-2-x
-OR-
Just create/use a second email account to use as a backup profile for your spare Pre 3.
Of the two, a second profile is by far the easiest and best method for a backup. If it moves up to being your daily driver, you can always switch it over to your primary profile.
HP TouchPad Root Certificate fix for WebOS cloud services
Hey thanks for putting together the thread. I made a little video to help users become aware of the problem and fix it. We may also need a thread about this in the TouchPad General section so more people will hear about it.
HP TouchPad Root Certificate fix for WebOS cloud services
HP TouchPad Root Certificate fix for WebOS cloud services(Important)
The Problem:
A vital "root certificate" on webOS devices is due to expire on July 23, 2013. This certificate gives Touchpad users access to HPs cloud services for the App catalogue and Backing up the device. When the "root certificate" expires users will no longer have access to the App catalogue and backed up data. Furthermore HPs online WebOS support is expected to disappear altogether by the end of the year. So it’s recommended to backup your personal data and essential Touchpad software to your PC now.
Read the full WebOS Survival Kit Guide Here:
The solution:
Getting a free App catalog update will fix the "root certificate" problem as long as you downloaded it before July,23,2013. If you are hearing about this after July,23,2013, then you will need to first set the date to June,23,2013. To do this boot into WebOS and go to settings/Date & Time, toggle off the "Network Time". Now adjust the date accordingly and download the Update, once complete comeback and Toggle on the "Network Time" button back to on.
To get the update in WebOS go to Downloads/HP App Catalog. Open the app Catalog and select the categories tab at the bottom. Next click on the “new” tab at the top and Scroll down the page till you see “App Catalog Update”. Now install the update and your Touchpad support will continue to work in a post WebOS world.
Note*This update requires webOS 2.1+ to be installed. Devices with older versions will need to run the WebOS Doctor first, the latest version is 3.0.5.

Remember: if it seems like it failed, this might be a false negative which has been happening to many users.
Don't Panic. Just verify the certificate.
If you have the Internalz Pro file manager (http://forums.webosnation.com/canuck-coding/256518-internalz-pro-v1-5-0-a.html) you can use it to navigate to the certificate and open it to read the expiry date...
If you have WOSQI - a.k.a. webOS Quick Install - (http://forums.webosnation.com/canuck-coding/274461-webos-quick-install-v4-5-0-a.html) you can use it to pull a copy of the certificate to your computer for examination...
Here (again) is the relevant location to navigate to/pull from. /etc/ssl/certs/trustedcerts/PalmWebOS.pem
Your New Certificate should look like this:
{

I'm having a heck of a time getting this done, hopefully someone can help me out here. I have tried running the install from HP App Catalog but it fails. When I try browsing to the cert location with Internalz Pro I don't even have the directory that I need to look in. I get as far as \etc and that's it. There is no ssl directory in there.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
*UPDATE*
I got it! Apparently the date you set the Touchpad to makes a difference. I figured anything before the end date would work so I just clicked the year and set it to 2012. The update just kept failing, it wouldn't even download. I kept looking around for a fix and I found the official HP document and it recommends setting the date to 7/1/13. I did that and the update from the app store worked. Go figure.
This still doesn't explain why I can't find the directory with the certificate file but the updated succeeded so that's all I care about.
EDIT: Never mind. After 3 reboots, it took. Thanks for the info, guys.
I had a hell of a time trying to fix this problem. i ended up fixing it by connecting with wosqi in the command line, copied the package form /media/internal/downloads/ pulled it from the phone and installed it with wosqi.
I get "Install Failed" every single time I try this. Multiple reboots, erasing data, nothing helps. Change date, download app catalog, update failed. I've tried different dates too. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix?

You didn't mention turning off network time before rolling back the date???
Have you tried manually verifying the certificate? Many users are getting a false "Fail" message...

If your certificate did not update, go to the HP help page and follow the instructions again. I believe that setting the date exactly to July 1st 2013 is critical due to reports on other threads. That specific date might be a trigger to HP servers. Another user reported that after changing the date to July 1st, 2013 he turned network time back on and that allowed a successful update (TouchPad).

[Q] Transfer Naver LINE account btwn ROMs

Hi everyone,
I frequently install new custom ROMs on my i337. I use Naver LINE as my primary messaging app, but your account is tied to your email and supposedly the device ID. If it doesnt match, it will delete your chat history.
I tried using Titanium Backup to restore my previous ID when putting in a new ROM but LINE still recognized the phone as a new device. Anyone have an idea on how to make the new ROM get recognized as the previous one?

Backup the LINE APP+DATA and SETTINGS (system apps). Install new ROM process whatever. Restore LINE APP+DATA. Manage Android ID, restore from backup (should be one option available). Click yes, let it reboot. Everything should be in LINE again in the new rom. Tested over 50 times as I am also a flashaholic.
Idk what went wrong with your method, but you didn't mention that you backed up and restored LINE APP+DATA before trying to restore the Android ID. If you already tried that... idk.
I think what I missed in this post is I didnt restore app data. I did exactly wgat you said on my flash last night and it worked! Does this work between different ROMs? Not just updates of the same ROM?

You may or may not be viewing any replies on this topic anymore, but in case you are, would you be able to explain the steps you have provided in as much detail as possible?
I am completely new to android and have never used Linux before either. I have been putting in some hard yards over the past few days and burned around 6 hours of trying to understand all the related jargon and acronyms (relating to backing up Naver Line) but it is starting to take its toll lol.. This is like learning a whole new language.
I followed some of what you have said but there are areas I could not work out no matter how hard I tried.
I.E. SETTINGS (system apps). There are many places where the words settings are inside the OS I found. In the OS itself, inside Naver Line etc... I have no idea where to find it.
"Manage Android ID". What is that and how is it done exactly?
So, if you or anyone else for that matter could please write a (Literally) step by step guide that would be just awesome. Because I have failed many attempts thus far and yet I will keep on trying. I can't see that light at the end of the tunnel just yet.
NB: I will add though, after weeks of trying I finally succeeded in installing a ROM on one of my androids. That was just HELL!! I'm not giving in though! :good:
From an old bloke, cheers for the understanding...
This process requires ROOT and Titanium Backup:
1. Select "Backup All System Data"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Select "SETTINGS" Storage is the only one I think you need, but back up both anyways (as pictured)
**The above steps will backup your Android Device ID, which LINE requires to be identical to the restored data ID**
**After you have backed up LINE and SETTINGS and done whatever it was that required you to move your LINE app**
1. Select "Restore All Apps With Data" and check LINE (app+data)
2. Navigate to Titanium Backup's main menu, scroll down to "Manage Android ID ..." which should bring up a window with an option "Restore Android ID from a backup" which when clicked should show one backup... click that, it will prompt you to restart, restart... done.
I'm not the best instructions guy, but let me know if that helps clear up the process.
backup issue
Hey TASL,
A big thanks for the effort you put in there.
I am going to give it a go again and I'll post my experience with it.:fingers-crossed:
Through my previous attempts with this (using two other site/posts to help or confuse) I had ended up downloading SQlite manager, Titanium, Bluetooth File Transfer, Easy Backup, FX explorer and FX explorer root add-on. You can see I was going down the rabbit hole there..
Back. I've been out for a few hours training. Been back for 30 minutes. Started on backing up of Line and camera. The new phones was in a 'Building app data size....or something or rather for around 5 minutes. Then changed to a screen report showing 'Overview of app storage use ' window.
Obviously I am not sure if this is supposed to happen.
Then I tried to 'Manage Android Id'.......No can do. I need the 'Donate version' of Titanium it says. Hmm..I couldn't find the donate version so I suppose I would have to pay the $7.50 for the PRO version to get this to work.
I'll get back when i've come to a solution.
Ok. I finally succeeded in backing it up onto the new phone. The only issue here is that When opening Line I need to enter the password 'twice'. Also a message appears courtesy of Line, telling me that I have accessed this account on another device therefore and that all the information will be deleted.
At this point I just tap back instead of tapping on the 'OK' button.
This probably came about because I had installed Line onto my new device and opened it before using this backup guide. As the above message is what I saw when I had done that. This is a bit of an issue as I will need to step carefully least I accidentally hit the 'OK' button and then having line remove all of the chat.
Bummer.
What a huge oversight by Naver Line in not incorporating a chat transfer option. Seems like an awfully stupid 'think tank' idea from the suits in the oval office. Perhaps they know something I don't.
Again thanks for the guide TASL. This will definately help in future and next time I'll get it right on the first go. Cheers
Just an update to my user experience.
I have removed the Line app and re-installed from the market.
Not only was it tedious to tread carefully around the 'OK' confirmation button from line I couldn't send text messages either.
So I have failed in getting this too work.
The household is getting a new (but second hand) SG3 very soon so I will try the method on that device before activating line on it.

[Q] New to forums, new to rooting

Hello everyone.
I'm new to rooting, however, I have managed to root my SM-N9005. I followed a long and for me; difficult process, but I got there in the end. Odin, Tar file & SuperSU all led me to where I am now. My friend told me that I should be using Cyanogen Mod; which is installed. But I've noticed a few perplexing issues which I'm hoping you clever guys might be able to help me out with.
1) Since Modding, my SD card is no longer showing up in "My Computer" when I click on the phone icon. It is still there according to the "Storage" options on the phone and it is populated, but not showing up in my computer.
2) We have a number of devices in our house. 10" tablets, 7" tablets & various android phones. All these show up when I go to Google store, however, since the root, mine is nowhere to be found and I have no idea what to do. I cannot add software old or new, unless I go down the torrent route. MY friend told me that I should install "[GAPPS][4.4.x/4.3.x] OFFICIAL Up-to-Date PA-GOOGLE APPS (All ROM's) [2014-06-08]" as this would solve my issue. So I installed it to my SD card, booted up with Vol up, Power on & home button, selected load zip.... = Fail
Look guys, I'm an old man who suffers from dyslexia, I have honestly tried my hardest, but I'm stumped.
I throw myself at your mercy and beg you for help.
Many thanks in advance.

To make this clear.
1) Factory Reset your phone using odin and install latest firmware that can be downloaded here.
2) Flash your phone using odin. Just get rid of Cyanogen Mod first. (Install it later if you want)
3 After flashing stock rom, Check your SD card is it working or not.
4) If you want to root your phone you can go here and download appropriate file( Which is if you download latest firmware, it should be KK 4.4.2)
4) Flash the file using Odin.
5) If ONLY the problem of SD Card still occur, Try this one here.
Troubleshooting
1) If you are in stock rom and you dont have any problem with SDCARD, then it should be the CyanogenMod problem (I'd never install this rom so i don't know). You can ask on CyanogenMod Thread.
@Wulfrune :
in addition to @IzArsha post,
if you have problem with internal SD card, coming from CM/AOSP to TW rom,
you can try this.

Thank you for the reply.
However, please understand that you're talking to someone with ZERO experience of rooting and in a nutshell..... I'm afraid I've almost no idea what you're talking about The way I usually get around this is to follow video advice.
I will try my very best to get around this problem, but it's abundantly clear to me that I'm in over my head and that it was clearly a huge mistake on my behalf messing around with the phone in the first place. I just HATE the way Samsung think that just because I bought their phone that they own a piece of me.
Given my above statement, I will of course understand if you've no wish to spoon feed me through this process..... But if you can be of further help, I will of course, be very grateful.
The main thing is, you had noble intentions and wanted to help and I think you sincerely for that.

Thank you for getting back to me. I followed the instructions you outlined step by step, word for word, pay absolute attention to detail and the following id the result:
[email protected]:/ $ su
[email protected]:/ # restorecon -v -R /data/media
SELinux: Loaded file_contexts from /file contexts
SELinus: Skipping restorecon_recursive(/data/media)
[email protected]:/ #
Sadly, still no sign of the SD card in my computer
Any more ideas?
Thanks
Wulfrune
get rid of root and all will be ok :good:

Here's an update on the state of play .
I have upon advice here updated to Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones 1.5.29.0.
I have also changed out my 64gb SD and tried a different one. whilst it still didn't show up in my computer, it did enable me to load up Google's stock package, which in turn, via play store app on the phone lets me load apps again.
I have come to the conclusion that Cyanogenmod might not have been the best route for me and that I'd probably be better off without it. I'm pretty sure it may even go a long way to solving the issues I'm having with the SD card not showing up.
So..........
2 things.....
1) Can someone tell me the safe way to remove Cyanogenmod
&
2) Can someone please suggest a replacement that will fully work with the SM-N9005 please?
Many thanks for you help so far.

Pre-Rooted Firmwares for Samsung SM-J110H Galaxy J1 Ace Duos

The First Pre-Rooted Firmwares for
Samsung SM-J110H Galaxy J1 Ace Duos
Samsung SM-J110H Pre-Rooted Firmwares:
- J110HXXU0AOGA v4.4.4 KitKat: Download (AFH Link) Tested
- J110HXXU0APB2 / J110HODD0APB1 India v4.4.4 KitKat: Download (AFH Link).
- J110HXXU0APB2 / J110HOJV0APB2 Arabic v4.4.4 KitKat: Download (AFH Link).
Hi!
I test this firmware in my SM-J110L and works perfect.
As a detail, i wish to comment some considerations.
1 - Firmware can be flashed without clearing davlik cache or anything. At least, in my experience, works fine without doing that. As far as i see around, clearing cache is needed only when you get stuck in boot animation.
2 - Due to the software included in my phone, SU binarie works in first boot, but cannot be updated (rom ask for it but, doing it, SU binary is deleted and root access is lost)
To solve it, is needed to remove samsung KMS and EMS software from the phone. This software is there to "protect" the phone, and is the responsible of deleting SU binary. It's harmless to remove it.
To do this, in first boot (when SU works and you can gain root access) install ES Filexplorer (i use it, but for sure other apps can do it), activate root functions, and delete KMS and EMS software from system (ES allow to do this via User Apps section, remove system app).
This particular model is "low profile". So, RAM memory is the first thing is reduced. This can be solved using Apps2SD, RAMEXPANDER (to activate Zram functions) and Swapper2 to activate Swap space on microSD card (need to be partitioned first)
Actually, i was not able to find a custom bootloader for this phone (SM-J110L is not equal to J110H, at least in bootloader protection). and even i cant find any custom rom for it.
Hope this info helps to the owners of this great phone. Considering cost/prestation is a great choice. And there's a lack of info about it.
Best regards,
Alejandro

Thank you so much for sharing your test with us, If you want I can make a prerooted firmware for SM-J110L and also delete these APPs which you have mentioned above
Great!!!
Here is the LINK to the current firmware of this version.
Maybe u can update the SU version too (current SuperSU is 2.46)
And, of course, KMS and EMS service removed..
For sure i gonna test it!!!
Thanks a lot for your work!

Ok bro, But please can you give the complete name of these two APKs to remove?
com-skms-android-agent.apk contains all the problematic stuff.
All new Samsung phones comes with this APK preinstalled. Looks like, for security reasons, it kills SU binary. (KMS agent works with NFC service, so, removing it, leaves NFC services unavailable. No problem if you don't want to use your phone as a credit card. This explains the security issue with SU binary. Can be reinstalled later if anyone need it (losing root, of course))
Good day friends, a question, I want to install this rom but not if it is done with Odin or what is the method to install it?

As far i know, not yet. Even CWM. Someone is working in TWRP for j110h, but i test it in my 110l and its not working. Looks like bootloader is protected in a different way. Here is the work. But, as i say, it's for the 110 lte, and looks like is different to the 110j.
You can try helping them (maybe with some testing) to reach a TWRP version that works in our phones.
Is there a custom ROM for this device
