Hi I have a big problem and i need all the help i can get
I have an XDA IIi but i accidently deleted all the data on it
the opertating system is gone the screen is only showing me Serial 1.0
and when i connect to my pc only shows USB 2.0
I would like to know if somebody can help me out with this and tell me how to restore the software to my device, i have a backup copy on my SD card, but i don't know how to used

I was trying to upgrade the radio version of the phone, but the version i was installing was not desgined for the XDAIIi , so, instead of upgrading, it deleted of the rom of the device and now the operating system is gone
the only thing i still have is the backup copy that i made defore the upgrade
i don't know if there is a way to use that backup copy in order to restore the system

Recommendation
It is propably that the system ROM was erased during upgrade and the upgrade wasn't successfull. Try to download the Diamond 1.2 WM2003se(my recommendation) ROM images package(somewhere available at this forums(Himalaya Upgrade)) and aferwards to flash your device with these files. If u want,u can try also the WM05 system.
He said his device is an Xda IIi not the old II.. Well you can reinstall back ur old ROM, no worries.. Download from my-xda.com..

If you mean the Country ID Error while attempting to flash the WM05 system,there's a problem of this OS. 2003se is without problem(for me). Simply download the Diamond ROM from this topic:

This contains 4 files(maybe more,but these are important).
-HimaUpgradeUt.exe
-ms_.nbf (Extended ROM image)
-nk.nbf (System Image)
-Radio_.nbf (Radio stack)
Start the bootloader(probably you are there),put the Hima to cradle,Windows at your computer detects your device and then extract the downloaded file into one folder and run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
This utility is writing what you should do.
As I have readed that the WM05 OS is a little bit buggy(some compatibility problems etc..) at this time to use in Hima. Therefore I am using the 2003se.

Of course it does matter.. Remember that the II and IIi is now a really different device even though both looks identical.. For example, u said he can upgrade to WM2005 (or ROMs that was meant only for Xda II), but of course this can't be done, this is bcos the difference in hardware specs, 4 example IIi has 1.3 MP cam (II = 0.3MP), 128MB RAM, 128MB ROM (II=128MB RAM, 64MB ROM) and so on..

İ am a mda2 user. İve bought my device from Germany and after that i changed its ROM to an english one using a rom editor to change its country id .. This encouredged a close friend of mine and he bought a O2 XDA2i. And since both me and my friend have no idea about German language we immediately tried to convert it to an english ROM.
And using a wrong ROM (sinmerged 2003 se for himalaya) i killed his machine. It now only writes serial or usb (when connected to cradle). Someone told us that if we flash it with a original German ROM it can work again. But there is no German ROM downloadable . And even if we find a German Rom and install it , it wont solve our language problem. I am a dentist and i even cannot believe how much i've learned browsing these forums
If you can help me i will be very happy!
note : in the ftp server there is rom named german rom for xda2i.. But its a lie. its in english

I also have the same problem. I tried to install the wrong upgrade. I've downloaded the new one but i keep getting a connection problem message because activesync can't find the XDA. Help please!!!!

When you are in bootloader then ActiveSync will not find the device to synchronise with(cause the WMOS is not running and therefore is any synchronisation disabled). When you put into the cradle,the computer should find new device(Microsoft USB Sync). Then is the device connected and ready to update.

After i've realized, I ordered the USB Cable (connection cable) and a memory stick for my pharos...
Well for my surprise there is no installation software... I would like to have it but he told me that he already lost the cd...
Well now my questions:
1. Where can I get this standard installation CD??
2. How can I upgrade my Win 6.0 to Win 6.1
3. Can I also download the Navigation Software (GSA Countries)
4. I've seen a lot of modifications (my favorite is HTC Pharos WM6.1 Manilla2D Poldo v.o8) is there any guide how I can install it (because I am really new to this thing)
I would really be grateful if anyone would help me...

2) read the threads on the forum, you need hard spl and a rom but i urge you to read the threads on the forum AND the wiki !!!! (really do it)
3) you can download tomtom... but you need to buy maps dont even ask about warez! not allowed here.
4) to upgrade see answer 2)
i dont know if you can get the installation cd's in another way. maybe you can download activesync directly from the microsoft site but i dont know.
before posting you should have browsed the forum, and then you would have been on your way allready (dont just stick with the pharos forum also read the development and hacking forum and look at the other OMAP phones forums)

You can get activesync for XP from the Microsoft site. If you are using Vista it should be ready for connection without loading anything else.
If you want to upgrade the ROM version, you need to read the sticky and wiki here on the site.

I have a copy of the 'Getting Started' CD with all the drivers etc.. if you have had no luck yet. I could copy it for you.

Personally I am happy with SPB Mobile Shell 3. The I am not interested in another WinMo version until 7, which will need another phone.

Flashed with Tommy34's ROM with WM6.5.
Very happy that my GPS fixing -boring- delay is fully resolved.
I almost believed in my Device have had a hardware defect, then realized it is none..
I have got one single trouble that SKYPE WinMobile v2.5 can not be installed..
I will try v3.0 Beta ASAP I am able to download..

first u need to do ur HSPL a tute is given in the jade rom development section
read the same and do it as u cant flash cooked ROMs without HSPL
but remember if u do it u will lose ur warranty
once u have done the same Flashing is very easy
if u cant understand i will give u details but first get ur HSPL done OK

I have not been able to flash my phone.
I am using Vista and when I try and flash the rom on the phone, I get:
Vista has found new hardware (I think it was a CDMA Driver)
I've flashed WM6.5 (can't remember which version I used), and I thought all was going well, until I tried to sim unlock it. The phone is 2 months old, with Orange branding, and had the horrible Orange Unique Manager, which is why I wanted to flash the phone, and I assumed the phone was simlocked. After I flashed it, I bought a Sim Unlock Code, but when I put a 3 sim card in, I didn't get the expected "Enter SIM Unlock Code" prompt. Instead I just get "No Service" displayed on the home screen with the exclaimation mark at the top where the signal strength is displayed. I've also tried with an (active contract) T-mob Sim, and a Tesco Mob Sim. Same thing, I don't get the prompt to be able put the unlock code in.
I can't help thinking it's because I've flashed the phone, it seems like there's something preventing the Enter SIM Unlock Code dialog from coming up. Is there anyone else with this problem, or a solution? What ROMs are people using that they have sucessfully SIM unlocked their phones with?

I have flashed my Orange UK Jade with various flavours of WM6.5, all with good results, currently using a version cooked by PDAVIET, with no issues.

I tryed to coock a rom usin erviuskitchen german kittchen wich only changing tahoma font. but all roms i cooked with it are getting instable after 2 dayes. My favorite navigation system wich german and Asien maps does not start afer 3 times anymore.

I've read the "flash for n00bs" post, and it seems that there is a way to "flash-back" your phone to a factory version, am I right...?

I am from Brazil and bought my Touch 3G about two months ago. It came with WM 6.1.
Last week I successfully applied the "Hard SPL 2.33 by Olinex" and then Flashed it with "Touch3G__WM6.5__2_33_721_17__B23033_WWE" ROM from PDVIANET.
Everything is running fine. The only comment is that we really need to disabled the 3G (H) network and run just with Edge (E) in order to save some battery. Other than that I recommend everybody to upgrade to WM 6.5

There isnt any moment without any crashed and lags !
I restart the Phone 5-10 times the day just because it doesnt reagize to anything !

your father bought it for you, isn't it? Then it cannot be a HD Mini as they are not officially sold in the USA. However it can be bought on eBay or whatever...
There isn't such a thing as WM6.2, the Mini comes with WM6.5.3 (build 23103). Just check your WM build number. (Manila Settings tab -> Info about phone -> Software info)
If it isn't 23103, flash a stock ROM.and see if its better.

I'm pretty sure that this question has already been answered but after going through many threads, I still don't get it, haha.
I have got a MDA Touch Plus (Htc Touch Dual) from T-Mobile UK which is set with Windows Mobile 6.0 (version from 2008, the oldest one I believe). I'd like to update it to WM 6.1 or above (6.5 ?) but I have no idea how to do that.
I tried to get the official version of WM 6.1 from the htc's website, it said that the software wasn't suitable for my device.
I managed to download it anyway using another HTC Dual Touch's serial number but I don't feel confident trying to install it when the website stated that it wasn't suitable.
Here are my questions then:
- Is there a risk of damaging the mobile phone if I try to install the official version that wasn't apparently suitable for the mobile phone ?
- Where can I get a version of WM 6.1/6.5 that will work with my phone ?
- Is there a guide to install it ?
- My phone is unlocked so I can use my Orange's Sim as well, by updating it using an unofficial version of WM, will the phone stay unlock ?
I apologise if my questions are quite silly but I haven't got any experience in customing ROMs and all that kind of stuff ^^"
