It doesn't work on sites formatted for mobile browsers.

Speaking of the browser, I know its not officially "supported" yet by XDA, but has anyone found a fix for that funky grey address bar ???? Or is that just me ????

Some themes will fix the browser address bar.

I know what you're talking about. this was happening to me too. It seems to happen when an ad blocking app or rom is applied. Xda is actually affected by it too.

Site specific glitch

Can anyone else verify this glitch. The browser find on page feature for some odd reason always freezes and makes me force close the browser on some sites.

Since you say "some sites" give me an example and I'll check for ya, but I'm not going to go looking for random sites to see if I can confirm it or not.
Try worldstarhiphop
It works fine in.dolphin HD

Yes, I experience the same problem as you do on that site.

Xda app

Shame the XDA app forces closed on Xoom... does anyone have a workaround?

this is a known issue and hopefully someone is working on it.
Tapatalk is basically the same app and works fine
i have the same and I paid for the app.......is anybody actively fixing this?
I have been using the XDA app since day 1. The only thing I have found I have to do is exit fully when done. I.e. I hit the back button till the app closes. If I leave it open for any significant time in the background it either gets stuck on the splash or whatever page I was on last. At that stage I force close and reopen it.

for some unknown reason the app works fine on the verizon xoom, but FCs for wifi-only; someone reported the same problem on the wifi-only transformer, so its got something to do with honeycomb without mobile data (some kind of id# or something?)

Wow. Really? So THAT'S why it crashes on tablets? I had always assumed it had something to do with the resolution being much higher than on a phone, but since you say the Verizon XOOM works, that blows that theory out of the water... I am going to see if my superiors have any idea why this is happening or if they can contact Tapatalk to fix the problem.
Fyi this problem does not exist on tapatalk.. has to do with something xda does differently
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
I have the Verizon xoom as well and I never had a force close. It does act weird sometimes, but it does on my nexus one as well.

Also goes along with what I've heard in the past... From what I've read, Tapatalk's standard client used to have this issue, but then it was fixed. Perhaps the XDA app can be rebased to the newer Tapatalk.
I have had no FC's on my WiFi only Canadian MZ604.
What I do have, though, is a weird scrolling issue on certain threads where the text will copy itself onto every pixel it crosses until I stop scrolling and the screen refreshes.
I did note that it seems to happen mostly with hyperlinked text. Another possibility is text that has had it's color changed. Will have to play around with it some more to confirm this.
i just use the browser now. Its no big deal with the bigger screen.
It would FC on my Nook Color as well, which is wifi only. I was hoping for a better experience once I got my Xoom wifi (I also got the paid app) but it behaves exactly the same: as soon as I log in it FCs.

This happens to me on both xda and tapatalk, I think its a combo of hyperlinks and long texts... weird thing is, it happens in quoted text too, but not in the post that quotes the text

This mirrors my experience as well. Zero FCs since day one but do see the scrolling issues.

I would agree with you, but vBulletin forums (like XDA) are unacceptably laggy in typing posts on the Xoom.
That, and it's good to have options.

Just get tapatalk pro. It works on wifi only, just get some weird text drag when scrolling long posts. Plus you can access any other native forum you like. I have the xda prem app on my hd2 to support xda and tapatalk on my xoom

Netflix now streaming on my atrix, not perfect color though...

I installed the updated Netflix app released today and now I'm able to stream movies, the color is off a little though.
Here is the link to apk

i see what you mean..i have this green bar going across the screen in the bottom. colors aren't that great..but eh. i can deal with this for now.
watching Mortal Kombat..
Tried austin powers, plays very smoothly but with strange colors

it's the video decoding due to our phones, probably because of the tegra. this has been known since the netflix app was first released (FYI it's been working on our phones since then, the APK was posted in the apps forum)
Still a pretty awesome step in the right direction.
Doesn't android have a graphics layer that's standard across releases that developers can code to instead of hardware specific? Greenbar is pretty annoying.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
It does, although this is a video decoder issue.

Your old news statement is old news fyi.
The supplied link does not work for me. The app downloads, but it wont install, saying that the app was not downloaded from a trusted source. Does anyone have a fix, or advice?
Thanks.

Damn....
So no options for us 1.83 stock users. Well I guess. I'll read about rooting and side loading this weekend.

This is definitely a step in the right direction. More functional than the app has ever been...but the green bar along the bottom of the screen is weird.

LOL Funny, I found under Privacy in Settings, on the top there is Clear Browsing Data. Maybe with some more exploration, there might be a list?
On the Stock Browser for ICS, if you hold the back button it takes you to history and bookmarks... Nothing similar in Chrome it seems....

Has any1 even seen this or has had this happen?

When I go on the internet the letter are sumtimes jumbled up only in some spot and not others. Then when the browser refreshes it will fix itself. Any input, thoughts or Solutions?
It has to be the don't that you are using. I've never come across this problem before using the default font.

I've only had that happen in Chrome on THIS website. Usually if I let it sit for a few extra seconds it straightens out, but not always.

I wish i would have found it b4 i started this thread. Was there a fix? And how the f#@k do you delete a thread? lol
you aint alone... this happens to me too with the stock font and the non-beta version of Chrome... only on this site too.
Some of the time it's the CSS displayed on the screen. If it's older CSS standards, I believe that's what is happening.
If you zoom in, it fixes itself.
