Excellent question mate. But only you can find that out. Get starting and tell us about it.

Currently using MCCM SE v3.3 after I broke my ShubCraft build (lol whoops!).
My favourite build I've used so far was a tie between ShubCraft 2.0 dropmode and MDeeJays DesireHD. I can honestly say tho the ONLY detractor from the Desire HD build for me was the camera not working. If it had I'd still be using it today.

BlueTopia is my newest, lovin it. The animations kick ass, and mms works on T-Mo out of the box. Hyperdroid 1.7 is great too. I love havin a 16gb card, I switch between 5 or 6 builds on my card using the Exceller loader all the time

maybe a proper question will be 'which one is the most working one?'
in matter of phonecalls, 3g internet, calendars...mail, camera, playing music.
I understand that some users want the best speed and are not really into an accurate calendar or alarm.
can you please point out which of the builds have everything working fine on an average level
at least some of you should know from personal experience...
thanks

Currently I'm using MDJFroyo Sense Revolution with the latest kernel or at least the one release a few days ago. I was a DarkStone fan for the longest (the longest length of time with his build was 2 months) and wanted to try a stock build, but didn't like it cause of data isssues. So I bounced from buil to build until I saw m-deejay releasing builds every week or at least updates and thought I'd give it a try.
So far, I really like it. Love that he includes a cool theme with his builds. Aside from looks the build is very stable. With the most recent kernel, data disconnects happen less frequently, and mostly when I'm at work and can't get much of a signal anyway. Thankfully my job is upstairs from a nursing school that offers its students free wi-fi lol.
Other than that, he keeps his builds updated which is also cool. I want to try another HD build, so when I get home I'll change a few things and go from there.
As far as set up:
I'm running HSPL 2.08 or 2.08spl (i haven't updated it in awhile so I forget)
Radio 2.12
Omega XT with GTX 1.8.5 Sense Theme (awesome build)

1- This thread is from 2010, why resurrect it?
2- Your link is not working.
3- Now that most ROMs are fully functional, no need to recommend what you like or think is best. (Not that there ever was)
4- This is the HD2 section, not the S4 section. (And if by S4 you meant Sense 4, it's not even "fully" working).
You ARE late to the party. You even went to the wrong one, lol.

Please, don't bother arguing when you're wrong. This thread is irrelevant right now but you brought it up again with a broken link and no valid reason. He answered you because you BROUGHT THE DAMN THREAD UP AGAIN so of course he's going to see it on the front page of the forum and wonder why someone's reopened it. Yes, he's criticising you because of you reopening an old thread and now, since you've replied in this manner, I'm sure he has a problem with you (just as I do). He didn't earlier have any sort of personal problem, but you're just being rude. If you have the GS2 then post in the GS2 forum (or better yet, don't post anything to do with best ROM at all) but not here in the very clearly marked HD2 forum. If Marv ever does prepare a party I suspect you'd turn up three years late and uninvited

I recommend you start off with Cyanogen. Once you're comfortable enough to experiment, throw on JACHero. The HTC TouchFlo UI is truly great and worth the lack of bluetooth.
The Hero Theme doesn't give you any of the benfits of the actual Hero UI. I previously ran The Dude's w/ the Hero theme and found it was lagged too much and ate too much battery for just being a bit prettier. JACHero on the other hand is a different phone that is superior to the G1 is nearly every way.

thanks for the reply, If i ran JACHero is there any lag? Also would i be able to keep the Stock radio, I noticed this phone has signal in my house, My Iphone and blackberry do not.
also should i even bother with apps2sd because I have a class 4 sd card.
Also anyone know what a PVT board is and how to figure out i have one?
Most of your questions have been answered. Please search. If its ROM related search the Development forum (there is nice sticky at the top of the thread list), if its theme related then it will be in the Theme section.

Yes. To find out if you have a PVT board, hold the camera while you press the power button to turn it on. It will say it at the top

[Q] Best Android Build?

I have just plunged into android and I am using HTCClays SuperDesire build - I like it, but I have an issue with data connection dropping out (Vodafone UK).
So I was wondering what was another good version to try? Here is my requirements.
Good Data connection.
Camera working (seems premature flash is an issue on all builds?)
Bluetooth working
Good Battery life
Not concerned about Sense
In addition, (whilst I am re-building) does the WM Rom make any difference are there any recommendations on this (i.e Titanium only?)
Cheers
Mark.
Here is my requirements.
* No APN crash
* Camera with flash working
* Bluetooth working / contacts transfer.
* No HTC Sense
* No touch screen freezes
* Working G-Sensors
what's up with the shopping lists? open up the threads and look at the first post! they all say exactly what works/doesn't work/what to expect!
i'm not giving you a fish. go catch your own.
OMG...... another one
This is getting ridiculous now.....
This is just getting disrespectful to developers and even other XDA members! Do some reading, every ROM thread has what's working and what's not! so why give a list of your requirements, you want to be so picky, so build one yourself!
You can't make a thread in my opinion stating which is the best as they all have they uses, people have they favourites but why not go try some and see which works best for you?

my first build was shubcraft but version 1.3,i have to admit that i was really satisfied (in spite of some functions weren't working).then i tried desire hd build by darkstone and i felt in love with new sense.i've been using it for a month or so but is still quite buggy.from yesterday i have darstone's froyostone v 3.1 and so far everything is really good but i miss some features from new sense

Gimme, gimme... Don't ppl realise how long and hard this journey has been. It was once said that Android wasn't even possible.
By all means ask for a recommendation if you really don't know where to start but if you have any sense then do your homework like the rest of us.

Tell me exactly whats wrong with having some preference about the rom? Even the devs would get something good out of it.

lets start with asking questions in the questions forum. that way this post can be with the other 6 exact same posts from the last 2 days.
As the thread starter, I find many of the responses un-helpful.
I believe that I stated that my main issue was that data was dropping out. This was not stated as a bug in the first post, and before I put the software on my Leo I also checked a few of the final posts, which is a good way to spot any major issues.
I accept that Android is new to Leo and that there are inevitable bugs, hence me asking for advice.
Its good to see that 'Senoir Members' are so helpful ! (that was sarcasm by the way!)
Never mind with the answer I will look for myself with trial and error.
What a helpful community! (Not).

In all seriousness, If your looking for stable data connection I would try out this build. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=786809
It runs great and its RMNET so its more reliable as far as data goes, it also looks [email protected] Data is the most stable for me out of all builds. See if its the same for you.

the thread you started is inappropriate :
1. different builds work differently in different countries, cell networks. etc
2. Not a single build appeals to the likes of everyone.
3. People will only give varying and often contradicting reports of builds they tried.
RESULT:
a thread that will lead to nowhere
Dont be lazy and read up, test and give us your feedback, positive or negative.
This isn't development, so moved to general. Also, closed the thread, as there are plenty of people discussing ROMs and what works.
@OP, please read the first post of each release, as it explains what's working and what isn't etc.

Whats the most stable rom?

As of today? I am looking to install a 2.2 rom for a co worker. Since i will not be around to trouble shoot after installation I need something very very stable and w/ everything working. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

p.s. I know there is an identical thread but no one has posted there in over 2 months and at the speed of these new releases that post is like ancient now.

here we go again.
anyway, hyperdroid v1.6 (non-sense build) works really good for daily use. For a sense build, i can't answer, cause i just don't use it (it's frugly)
Round 10000th.
All builds are stable.
By now, who make the builds stable are the Kernels.
So the builds, who have the last updates in kernel sutff, are the most completely.
The build I most like are the HD and Z, but they don't have the camera working, so for now, I chose another one with it and the last kernel who fix the premature flash.
Choise by your taste.
U should have posted it and get flamed in Android General section...

Kidding aside, it's a little tough to call, different folks -- different strokes i guess, after trying differnet combos, radio's etc....
for me the best has been the mDeeJay's Froyo sense.... (specially with hastarian kernals)
i like v2.5... over 1.1 clean....
I was gonna post the link, damn i'm not allowed to!
ey the most stable for me is
android ..Mdeejay_FroYo_HD_v._3.6
wm... Dexter-TheDarkOne,Radio Leo 2.15.50.14
camera dont work
Difficult to answer and a bit dangerous also The latest ones would be amoug the most stable although not always necessarily so.
i think anyone who posts these types of questions, especially in DEVELOPMENT!!!

It's called Windows Mobile 6.5.
The HD2 comes with an OS that is exactly what your colleague needs. Why would you even consider sticking them on Android if they cannot fix any issues that crop up?
I'm a big fan of Android and would recommend it to anybody, as long as they can deal with any issues that ensue. If they can't, I'd recommend they stick with Windows.
In before the move perhaps..this should be posted in he HD2 Android General section with the other 100 "whats the best?"

Its all a matter of opinion....hard to answer your question. The way i pick a rom to try out is...
Look for one that was recently updated
Read the first posts from the developer..your looking for changelogs, and whats working and not working.
Remember the date of the last update....go to the end of the thread and read all the way back to the date of the last update. This will let you see problems other users have found. Decide if these problems are related to the build or user error. Most will be user error. If you dont see a lot of complaints or problems with ...gps, data, wifi or phone turns into a blood sucking vampire then flash it and see for yourself. This is the ONLY way to find yhe best rom for you.
Believe it or not every hd2 is different. They all react differently to setups that are exactly the same. Its weird and hard to explain so just believe it.

I totally agree with the statement above, and while mdj's rom was "stable" for my particular hd2, so are many other roms, its all about your personal preference i would say get clockwork working and make a few nand backups of roms you like and switch off every few days until you find the one for you, but do as you want man, they are all pretty awesome with unique features, i think mdj's build is slightly outdated due to kernel and system breakthroughs as of late... just my personal opinion though, decide for yourself

For .zip roms, you gotta use CWM to install. a little more confusing at first. But you will know how as you read more. For now, try to get use to flashing NAND.

hi ,
I am pretty sure that your guys are tried of topics like these already but i dont know where else to go . Can you guys please help me figure out which NAND android Rom would be the best suitable for me?
this is what i need my phone to do :
*use it as an everyday rom so has to be pretty stable.
* need normal phone operations working e.g - GPS, Bluetooth, texting,dialing,speaker phone, wifi,camera,video camera,flash
*want flash, swype ,app2sd,internet tethering with usb and wifi hotspot and of course the android market app.
*A somewhat fast rom , and need to be able install and use apps from the sd card. live wallpapers would be cool but not a necessity.
Again in advance I am really sorry if i came across as smug or needy or ignorant or not willing to use the search feature. That was not my intention , read a lot of posts here and there forums and all different kind of roms are only confusing me further.Thats why i registered and decided to write this post.I'll post this at XDA as well hope i get some help .
again thats in advance and sorry if my post was annoying, just trying to learn.

depends whether you want with or without "sense"
core droid has sense
tytung does not
Most of the things you outlined like GPS etc. work on every ROM now.

Why not read one of the existing threads about which build is best and base your decision from that? Just so you know, there is no right and wrong answer. Just because I like Hispanic chicks, with fat #$%$# doesn't mean you have to like Hispanic chicks with fat #$^#$.
Really??? What I do is read the entire build thread usually there are one to four pages about each build on each indivisual ROM. This is where you are going to obtain information about the ROM itself. Then download one, hell download 10 try them out. I am personally a fan of the Desire ROM's.

There is no way you can expect a Guy to come in here and read all the build threads in their entirety, and I also find it hard to believe you do. Just recommend the Guy a solid nand rom, I would but I'm only running SD builds with wp7 on nand

I HAVE and do read the entire build thread on the ones I am interested in, doing so is a good idea. Again this is where you get the information about the build. It is only going to take 5-10 minutes to read through an entire developers first post (1-4 pages max) So lets see, if you read through 12 builds at 5 minutes you have only invested an hour of time and gained a lot of knowledge. Most builds take about 30 minutes to download so while you are downloading ONE build you can educate yourself on at least 5 other builds you might be interested in. Some builds I start reading turn me off right away, those I dont bother going back too. Also if you are too lazy to read through a build then you are probably going to install it wrong and spend double the amount of time it should of taken. I AM JUST SAYING!
TO THE OP:
I like desire builds:
Currently using this build

I'm not saying i have read every single thread in relation to a certain build that i may have flashed on my phone but ive read a lot on here and have flashed a lot, no interest in WINMO anymore although i used to especially like the NRG ROM's also Laurentius but as regards Android until such time a stable Honeycomb build comes about ill stick with Sergio Coredroid it is IMO the best there is, i must give a mention to previous builds ive had which were excellent like Darkstones NAND SUPERAM,exceptionally fast but discontinued, also MDJ, Xboarder and Rafpigna but Sergio's is for me no 1.
I used what is called ...."most stable" froyo 2.2 . GPS dont work.

I've read the first, and last five pages of almost every NAND build thread. He needs to do what we did, and install different builds until he finds one that suits his needs. Like it's been said a thousand times, just because I like hispanic chicks doesn't mean he's going to like Hispanic chicks.
Plus, he could have opened one of the numerous, "what rom is best?" threads and gotten the same answer he would have gotten here.
It also makes me laugh that you're calling buddy a liar. If you're so concerned with the OP getting a solid build, then why don't you toss the SD version, install all of the NAND builds, and turn in an essay about which build is best?

No problem bro. LOL @ the guy calling you a liar. Some people amaze me.
seriously guys , my intention was not to create a problem.I am not lazy either, i have done my fair share of reading but you have to understand for a guy who has no idea about linux or android ( except that its a kickass software for phones) all the information out there could be a little overwhelming.I didn't read quiet a few" which rom is the best " and they all confused me even more .The most prevalent answers those pots got was a lot a bashing with some " every rom is different , pick one that suits your needs" . Thats why when i started my thread i specifically mentions what i "desired" from the rom.I am really confused about the phone now. Some people on other forums are saying that since HD2 wasn't made for Android you would't get a stable rom for everyday use it is sure to mess up.Its posts like these that are confusing me even more and i am actually thinking about returning the phone and take the easy route of getting a samsung Vibrant.
again thanks for all the guys who mentioned their roms and the ones thats tried to help .honestly just because someone is asking a question doest mean that they were lazy and didnt read anything . If i didn't read anything then i would't have known about NAND .
PS: i love hispanic chicks with huge @%%^ too. Infact i love them all with huge )*##*#
