Tethering Driver - HTC Aria General

Question, I haven't got internet set up yet at my new place and I want to set up my wife's laptop for tethering off my aria, cm6.1 rc1 so just wondering what driver I need to install to get the tethering to work. It works on my desktop but I've never had my phone hooked up to her laptop. Any help with this is greatly appreciated...

Does t-mobile know if i'm tethering?

So i'm running CM7 and I was at the airport yesterday with no free wifi. I used the USB tethering feature built into CM7 which happened to work just fine.
However, i am just wondering, is there anyway t-mobile will know i'm tethering?
Heard yes and no, never been billed for tethering through my carrier

All I used to do was tether my HD2 to my notebook PC but I can't get that feature to work with this device anymore.

AFAIK, no. There has been no definitive answer to this. However, I don't believe T-Mo has any "long armed reach" into your phone. All they are is a carrier. They provide you a signal, what you do with that signal is up to you. All they should see is a steam of data to various points on the internet on their end.
Now, if these points happens to be things like a WoW server or CoD server; aka things that 100% can't run on your phone -- maybe they would have some info. Surfing, email, and downloading should all be totally innocuous though.

Wireless tether 4 root and Xbox live

Just wondering if anyone else is using the wireless tether app for their 360? I didn't think it would work since it doesn't work for wii but I just tried to connect and it worked, been playing multiplayer halo reach on it all week!
*disclaimer need the new xboxes I think, but maybe old one with the wifi adapter thing
I don't have a wifi xbox, but when My internet was down once I used my phone as wifi for my laptop, then shared my laptop's interent via cable... worked fairly well.
actually, wireless tether 2.06 should work for xbox or wii... it's in infrastructure mode on these phones. On older phones (like I came from a hero) it could only do ad hoc
I've used it for my 360...mostly black ops..but it works

what am i doing wrong
i was hoping some one could help me out, or at least point me in the right direction here. I'm trying to connect through my droid x. It's rooted and i have wireless tether for root users. I've watched videos and read forums and followed them step by step. I've also tried pdanet and internet sharing through my computer and cannot get that to work either. Like i said i've watched videos and followed them exactly so i will take any help i can get. Thank you.

Are you picking up the adhoc network on the xbox?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
i can pick up my droid x's wireless network, or atleast it shows up when i scan for wireless networks. and when i try and connect it cannot connect to "androidtether" because it cannot find the IP addresses. so as for the ad hoc networks i'm not entierly sure. I'm kinda new at this type of stuff so you'll have to fogive me. But under configure connections it shows up as "infrastructure" as other forums has said it should.

(Guide) how to reduce lag while tethered to ps3 and playing online

Y'all are going to have to bear with me on this, this is my first time doing this lol.
Okay first of all this all started when I finally figured out how to bridge my conectiom from my phone-pc-ps3 and I was able to play online but it would be very laggy and slow. First thing I did was go to opendns.com and wrote down there DNS then I went to control panel on my win7 PC and went to network settings under wireless tether and then went to properties, then u click on ipv4 and go change DNS to manual I believe then u enter the DNS numbers from the website and click okay, then on your ps3 go to network settings-custom-wired and set everything to automatic except for the dns you'll want yo do manual and enter in the numbers. And finish the settings now on your phone I found kifnos 1.0 tweak helps alot and u can also grab set dns for root users in the market and change your dns from Google public to open witch greatly reduced my ping from 300- around 170 I hope this helps some of y'all.
Ps please forgive my spelling and run on sentences because its 2:53am lol
Also I'm pretty sure changing the dns on Xbox 360 works the same way

How do I do this with just tethering It workd on my lil bros evo Sunday never did before tho how do we get our heros to do that cause we had both our ps3s online playn blackops
Sent from my HTC Hero CDMA using XDA Premium App
u have to set up a bridge using an either net cable and on win7 its farely simple say your using wireless tether for example first u go to control panel network and internet and u click on the ssid or your access point then wireless network settings then another window will pop up and u go down to properties then sharing at the top and click enable after that u should see a pull down make sure u click local area connection assuming your using an eithernet cable from your ps3 or xbox to your computer then your bridge should be complete
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
The hotspot feature on evos don't use adhoc like barnacle or wireless tether so no need to set up a bridge but ps3 will not pick up an adhoc signle

USB tether with EI22

Can anyone recommend a good usb tethering program for use with EI22. WiFi tether is not an option here.

Why not just use the Hotspot Hack?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Wired tether 1.4 works for me, except on linux - even though it appears that stock attempts to use rndis (dmesg on my linux box shows that it momentarily recognizes a rndis device), it doesn't work the same way that Rodderik's rndis support worked in his EC05 kernel... windows auto-detects it just fine, though

Hotspot hack isn't as nice
I like keeping track of how much data I use while tethering. Wired and wireless tether lets me do that. Playing MW2 and BF3 over 3G is data intensive, so I like to keep an eye on it. Plus, those are things the Sprint knows wouldn't be coming from the phone normally, so limiting their data use would be a good idea.

No can do. The PC doesn't have wireless. Plus it's nice to charge the phone and only use one radio at a time instead of the big drainer of EVDO and Wifi going full bore.
