Best Place to Buy Nexus One AT&T - Nexus One General

I've been looking for an AT&T Nexus One for weeks now. Is there anywhere to buy them brand new in box other than ebay?

craigslist

Ebay and Craigslist... good luck

Google discontinued the at&t model nexus one, the only place to officially purchase it was through the Google web store which was taken down at the same time. Because of this the at&t nexus one is going to be extremely difficult to get, let alone brand new as there are no official channels for it.

So there are no places that any of you know of that will have any left in stock?

I think it was mentioned above, but no other place stocked them other than Google itself. Since you can't get it from them anymore the only place you might get one that is unopened is if someone bought a bunch of them and is selling them on Ebay or Craigslist. However, you can get a used one in pretty much pristine condition for around 325 dollars now days.

Do what I did, But a Tmobile Nexus, Call HTC, say youre switching to ATT and would like to switch phones. You send them the TMO nexus, and they will send you an ATT nexus. And my tmo nexus was all mesed up to, lots of nicks and blemishes, and i got a PRISTINE condition ATT nexus.

I'll sell you mine. Used for about 1 week now, no scratches. Interested? Give me an offer!

Wow, I had no idea HTC did that, wish I had known that a month ago. Oh well I managed to pick up an ATT Nexus One today for $220. It's pretty beat up but I plan on fixing it myself. Everyone ATT Nexus one I've seen on eBay goes for $400 plus...

I'm selling two, both in near perfect condition, AMOLED screens, unless HTC will swap them out for T-Mobile versions also. I just switched back to pink jesus yesterday myself.

Theres no way i would sell my n1, not only is it still top notch an perfect for root users but it becoming a collectors item

I picked up my ATT Nexus One a week ago on Craigslist. I got it from a guy who worked as an intern at Google, but didn't want to keep the phone. He just got around to selling it last week. I paid $410.

You can visit this page http://developer.android.com/index.html, register as a dev developer and pay the fee, then you can buy a new one from google directly...I think it cost about US$530

Phone itself is $530 and there's a $30 registration fee if you're not already a developer. That, and you're almost sure to get a Nexus with an SLCD screen instead of AMOLED, unfortunately.

I have a used but in excellent condition Nexus One unlocked for Tmobile and ATT. I might be interested in selling.

G1 owners deserve early upgrade eligability for NEXUS ONE

I am feeling the hype of the nexus one, as im sure the rest of you are. It is truely an amazing phone, and i have a feeling it will have a xda following as powerful as the g1 has had. Seeing as though our phones are nearly out of date and close to its limit with android i was looking into buying a nexus one. NEVER would i pay 500 or so dollars for an unlocked phone. I have tmobile, but i have not had my g1 long enough for an upgrade(since last nov). Who else agrees that tmobile should be generous enough to enable us to buy the nexus one under upgrade pricing with a new 2 year agreement. They will be making their money from me, its just not right that we are basically going to be left in the dust.
No, g1 owners dont deserve anything. When you bought a g1 you paid for that phone. You never paid for any future proofing of any sort. This is like saying Windows Users should get every new version of windows free just for using windows.
You paid for a T-Mobile G1 and that is what you received. If you want to upgrade to a new phone you must pay for that new phone. These two phones have nothing to do with each other except that they both run Android. T-Mobile G1 is sold by T-Mobile, and Nexus One is sold by Google, it just happens to support T-Mobile's network.
If you think 529$ is too much just dont buy it, or wait for it to drop in price.

If anything, T-Mobile would at least upgrade G1 users to the MyTouch 3G like Rogers is going to upgrade their Dreams to the Magic because they say that it will not be able to upgrade them to 2.1 because of hardware limitations.
Doubtful that T-Mobile would take that hit though.

The only problem with that is the only benefit would be larger space for flashing a rom and wouldn't get the ram upgrade that you'd get if you upgraded to a magic. Unless they mean the 32b magic. Than i guess it would be the same thing. But imo, i'd rather have the keyboard then the extra space that could be solved by apps2sd.
I somewhat regret getting the mt3g.
I understand upgrading from a g1 to mytouch 3g, as they are very similar, but upgrading from a g1 to a n1 is like upgrading from a ford to a ferrari, price-wise.
I like the nexus, dont get me wrong, really seems to be advertised as an outstanding phone. I dont mind paying 500 cash for a phone, I bought my G1 for $450 anyway, but I am weighing my options between the droid and the nexus right now...simply because my number one love for the G1 is the qwerty keyboard, and droid carries that feature on but nexus doesn't.

FWIW the Nexus One "enterprise edition" has been rumored to sport a fully qwerty. At that time I imagine they also intend to support both proxies through the browser as well as WPA2 enterprise natively, but I can't say for sure as it's all just smoke right now.

yes we know, but fact simply remains that you signed a two-yr contract, a contract that stated how long you had to wait before upgrading...therefore, you must wait that time out....regardless of phone issues, thats with any cell company, T-mobile cant make business being generous, so your topic of this thread is just wishful thinking...but not a bad idea though, cus i agree it would be nice.

That's not true, you signed a contract to stay with them for 2 years. You can upgrade at any time, you just have to pay full price. They subsidize for new or out-of-contract customers to have them with that carrier

I know this, but T-Mobile is the one who subsidizes it. That is why I said it tht way
in any case, if you subsidize you are paying 80$/month for 2 years for a plan which without the nesxus one costs 60$ a month +180$ upfront!
24 x $20(Amount you are overpaying for the plan) = $480
$480 + $180 = $660
$660 - $530(price of a phone unsubsidized) = $130 OVER PAYED!

Subsidizing phones is just to make it more affordable for people who doesn't have the cash on hand. It's kind of like when you get a loan for a car. Most people won't have all the money for the car so they get a bank loan. When you get the loan you'll be charged interest until you've payed the car off. that extra $130 you are "overcharged" is just interest, in this situation.

[Q] How much for a mytouch 4g?

Ok so here is whats going on..
I live in Toronto and is using mobilicity(same frequency as T-mobile)
I currently have the mytouch 3g slide, i got it off the flee market.
I loved the phone so much and i have been reading about the mytouch 4g that i want to upgrade.
Now my question is where is the cheapest place to get a Brand New mytouch 4g unlocked?
I know T-mobile sometimes unlocks their phones for free but my question with them is that on their site i cant get the phone without a contract.
I am willing to drive to buffalo to an actual T-mobile store but what is their price on the phone with no contract?
Thanks in advance
Well that depends if you want new then I recommend buying from TMobile as you will have remorse and warranty without contract for 450+tax total 480 or so. Using website you can't order it as you have to call it in and order it via phone or go in to the local store. Now if you want to buy new or mint like conditions for cheaper price then try Craigslist or eBay which is selling for $350-400. You have higher chance of getting washed out display which you will have issues now if you don't care about it then just buy it. Far as unlocking goes you can do radio s=off yourself and sim unlock it.

Best phone yet hands down.
Well 350 is the avg price but the thing is what will you do when you get bad display?
Thanks a lot guys for clearing that up a bit for me.
I think i might go with buying a brand new one,
I'm the kind of guy who likes to have things from the start and since i don't see myself getting another phone for a while i think it will be better off to get it new
Cl for $250 new from a tmobile rep, was unopened when I purchased it. May try a costco or sams, im looking into a two year contract and can get another mytouch 4g, or g2 for 99

I've had a couple of chances to buy them off CL in barely used condition for $250ish, but average price seems to be about $300.
Ive looked in Craiglist around my area and the cheapest I've found was 400, i dont want to order from ebay because my visa is currently over due
for 400 i think id rather just buy it from T-mobile.
But once again thanks for tips and your thoughts

Shop more carefully. Post a WANT AD instead and you'll get lower prices. Worked for me. But then again I live in the SF Bay Area where CL was born, so there's a lot of action.

The best thing I like about CL is the false advertisement to lure folks in each threads by the seller. How they claim its new then when you go inside you see its used lol it can't be new (NIB) but its used morons. Don't waste your time with CL with 1st batch still out in large go pay the full price if money is not object for you or get it via EIP though tmobile I am guessing they have like 30-35 smaller payments.
Now I wouldn't mind buying it of CL year later but not even at that price as most idiots do want 350 for device that should be 150 due to time but they want the price they bought it for lol you have to love people who has 0 to no experience in sale department.

If you do your due diligence as a buyer and inspect the product it's fine. Just like buying a used car.
I bought a mt3g on CL for $200 and sold it on CL 9 months later with accessories for $200. Then a couple weeks later I picked up my gf's Captivate for $200 and in a year I'll probably sell it for $250.
I'm a perfectly straightforward and honest buyer and seller. Post a want ad to buy then post a sale ad to sell. This isn't rocket science.

I WANNA BUY A At&t 3g-compatible Nexus One!

I'm willing to pay 300 dolars (a brand new one for t-mo costs 345$) for a used nexus one that's compatible with at&t's 3g.
I don't care very much about scratches, etc. I just want everything to work properly.
I don't think anyone would sell their N1, since they paid the contracts (every month). Anyway you can buy them at ebay, you can even get an unlocked N1.

You cannot buy and AT&T Nexus one from any retail shop.
The AT&T Nexus one is unlocked by definition since there was never any way to get it carrier branded.
To OP: Honestly, the Nexus one is a great phone, by why not at this stage just by an unlocked GSII from overseas. This costs more but is a superior phone IMHO. But hey, actions speak louder than words and I'm still hanging onto my AT&T Nexus one. Its a great phone!
Do you guys think that I should get a nexus one? I use a htc aria right now but I'm not due for a upgrade until may of next year. Do you think that I should buy one at 175 dollars?

$175 is a good deal. There are better Android phones on AT&T but they all seem to cost $450 or more.

Buying the N4 outright at T-Mobile

Do you think T-Mobile will be selling the Nexus 4 off-contract for the same $349 price that Google is selling it for? If so, it would be easier to walk into my local T-Mobile store and buy it, instead of waiting for Google to ship it.
Probably not, I would assume that every carrier would have somewhat of a mark-up on the phone. I would still bet on getting the better deal off the play store.
But isn't the T-Mobile version going to support faster speed for T-Mobile?

As far as I know, there are no carrier specific versions of the Nexus 4, so what you get from T-Mobile is what you get from the play store. There is some confusion cause T-Mobile have said it will do 42Mbps and the play store just says 21, but the consensus seems to be that the play store is wrong.

Long story bro, I had galaxy s3 international version, and I am using t mobile pre-paid atm so I was getting 2G only. So I was so freaked out thn put ads on CL, a guy call me that he wanna buy it for $500. I was like lets meet up, after few hours latter he came with a car and I was asking him to come to a public place but he was like he couldn't find that location etc. So I found him on a empty street, so he ask me to show him the phone. I gave the phone and box to his hand he was looking at it thn another car came behind his car. he was like let me give him pass. I was standing at the street close to his car window. he said let me give the other guy pass thn before i say anything he was gone :crying: everything was planed out for sure. $730 gone learn my lesson though.
Thn I went to t-mobile and buy out another S3 but it had some screen problem so I exchanged it and got another. Which has screen gap problem in left side. So yesterday I ordered a unlimited pre-paid plan with a S2 free phone, which is going to in my hands tomorrow. once i received it i will go to t-mobile and ask for a refund for S3, I have to pay restocking fee $50 and in the mean time i am gonna use S2 and wait for N4
No reason for Branded N4...
Why would you even WANT to buy the Nexus 4 at T-Mo? Way I see it is, if you grab the plain one off the play store... It's just that, Plain. No T-Mo apps, no chance of having a branded phone that'd have a lower resale value.
Like everyone, I'm planning on buying from the play store but would one that you buy from t-mo be unlocked, also or would it be locked to t-mobile?

T-Mobile is not releasing a customized version of the Nexus 4. They are selling the Nexus 4 identical to the Google Play version. That means no carrier modifications whatsoever.

Agreed! craigslist: always be carrying... I've always met in a public place, prefer starbucks (allowed to carry in the store) , always have my glock on me, if I didnt feel comfortable I'll walk away, have someone else with you as well.
Craigslist is too damn sketchy anymore
I cut back on craigslist transactions since I bought an iphone 4s unlocked. I was trading and selling lot of android phones always wanted the newest one. Traded my gs3 for an iphone 4s plus $200
The nexus 4 has me tempted to purchase it brand new and just have the iphone as a back up or possibly sell it. Would like to get 3g/4g services again instead of the 2g but I do really like the IOS

That's a sad story but at least you don't have to worry about that when you buy your Nexus 4 on the play store!
Would this work on att lte?

This has been posted on another thread, but the Play Store specs were incorrect yesterday and have since been updated to show HSPA+ 42. This should mean that if your carrier supports those speeds the phone will take advantage of them. So yes for T-Mobile, no for AT&T (HSPA+ 21 only).
I can't post links as a new user, but you can go to the Play Store and check it out.

Why would you even WANT to buy the Nexus 4 at T-Mo? Way I see it is, if you grab the plain one off the play store... It's just that, Plain. No T-Mo apps, no chance of having a branded phone that'd have a lower resale value.

Tmo will be selling the same version as the play store (there only one version of the phone) so I plan on buying mine outright at the Tmo store to save on shipping. I live or work within walking distance of four Tmo stores, so its easier to go into the store then have it delivered. But this all hinges on Tmo charging $349 for the 16GB version.

Best buy deal for note 5

Looks like best buy is giving best deal on note 5, free wireless charger (the one for S6 not new wireless fast charging one) and $200 gift card on trade in of old smartphone.
Pre ordered mine but they are not shipping early as at&t is doing.
Edit:
Looks like I got best deal of all
I got
free wireless charger
a $200 dollar gift card for trade in (my phones value was showing $1, which I purchased on ebay for $30, moto g verizon postpaid)
and a $45 gift card from this deal http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/sm...e-offer-143828 (I know the deal does not apply but still BB guy went through)
I used cards to pay for 30% down payment and taxes

They told me in store that it was actually the fast wireless charger, will need to clarify.
Ordered mine last Friday. For a value of 249.00 its worth the wait.

Anyone know what kind of limitations there are on the '$200 credit for a smartphone trade in'? I have an old Galaxy S3 and HTC Evo 4G floating around. Would rather not part with my current Moto X when I upgrade to the Note. Would like to keep it around as a test/backup device.

I am a Samsung Experience Consultant at a Best Buy and asked the Mobile team at one of my stores the other day about the limitations. As long as the screen is not cracked and it can power on, you will get the $200 gift card. One of them also told me if I didnt have an old smartphone, to just buy their $20 Verizon pre paid LG Optimus Exceed 2 and just trade that in. LOL
OH, one limitation, It cannot be a blackberry... Haha

If that's a fast wireless charger then it would be great but by looking at picture of ad it doesn't look so. They have posted SKU number but I have not been able to search anything using those. Previous chargers (which is out of stock) has different SKU, so we can hope.

AT&T is doing $200 off with a smartphone trade in and as long as it meets $10 on their trade in calculator they will give you the money, regardless of if it has a cracked screen. My LG G2 with just a cracked screen is worth $19 according to the calculator, however the headphone jack is busted and cracked so according to the calculator it's worth $0, but if it was JUST a broken screen it would have qualified for the $200.

Yes but at&t told me I have to spend all $200 on accessories (they did not have one for note 5 also) on that day only.
The wireless charger that is being given out is the current non-fast charging pad. If you read the fine print, it specifically has a SKU stated which is the same one being sold in stores currently.
As for the trade-in offer, the phone must be a postpaid type smartphone, and cannot be one that is prepaid or commonly sold on prepaid.

Yeah, I got into one of my stores today and asked a mobile lead to verify and he said no, I couldnt trade in a pre paid phone. Guess the other mobile guy I spoke with was wrong.
Does anyone have any suggestions on an easy to find and cheap post paid smartphone?

You are correct regarding the non-fast wireless charger. I stopped back into Best Buy today and they confirmed that I was given bad information initially.

What phones were they? I feel like there isn't a clear description of what these phones need to be. One best buy told me it has to me the current phone on my contract, another told me it couldn't be older than a galaxy S3.
I have a Moto X 2013 I've had to use as a backup phone a few times. Looks like I would only get about $75-$100 on eBay. I might just trade that in. If I ever need a backup phone again, I'll just buy something for $50.

It only has to be worth something, go to bestbuys trade in page and look up any phone you have or wish to buy as trade in. As long as it's worth some sort of trade in value you'll get the full $200. It doesn't not need to be any phone currently on your plan, it does not need to be a phone on your carrier. Just has to be a working smartphone that you'd buy from a carrier "postpaid" basically any phone you'd buy with a 2 year contract. I did this last year for the note 4. I trade in my parents old Verizon Samsung fascinate it was worth 15 then and I got 200. And I have AT&T
do you have to purchase a smart phone plan with this or can you just purchase the phone straight out with a trade in?
