New to Android

Hello all I am currently in the process of learning the android os and am in need of a bit of help from you "Non-Android Noobs"
1.Would installation of the android sdk be the first step in my learning android process?
2.Installing Eclipse as per prerequisite in installing the Android sdk, so there are quite a few eclipse options to choose from. Which do I need?
Thx to all for any help.
EDIT: I actually just realised that I posted in the wrong place, mod pls move and sorry bout that
I use the 99m one,Eclipse IDE for Java Developers.
Maybe you need some books to find the detail.
I'm a beginner.

Shouldn't you be asking this in a forum for a device that can run an Android ROM? (example HTC HD2) We don't have one for the Blackstone.
Alternatively, it may be an idea to ask in the the Touch HD Android development rather than the Windows Mobile ROM Development.
Just an idea, you may get an answer.

[Q] Windows Mobile 6.5 on ZTE V9 (Light)

So i want WM 6.5 on the ZTE V9? Is it possible?
And if it's possibel is ther a finished Rom anywhere?

PS. I'm a German Guy and not a English professional person!
That's a Chinese Android device try asking in android section might be a start in the right direction
I'll second this question, but mostly talking about emulating Windows Mobile on any Android device. Could something like Haret be made, just emulating our beloved WM? This is the main problem that keeps me from switching to Android
If you write proper drivers, sure .
What do you mean by those drivers, isn't Win Mobile designed to support every resolution and hardware configuration? And, at least theorically, it is possible to create something like that? Sorry if that sounds noob-ish, I just have no knowledge on Android-specified programming

Hello World Program

Hello Forum !!
I am a complete newbie. I have a brand new Linux distrobution desktop and I am looking to do app development and testing for android.
I will describe my system now. I am using Ubuntu with Red Hat as a VM. On Red Hat, I have eclipse installed. I have all the Android ADT and SDK components installed as well. I have customized the various parts to ensure that I can communicate with the device I am using. The device I am using is plugged in via USB port. It is a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, running android.
So, how do I write and run a simple, "Hello World" style program now?

You have everything in the source: developers.android.com Enjoy
When you created a new project on it's default settings, the hello world program is already included.
