I just order this phone online yesterday and was wanting to get a general consensus on the battery life on the phone... Coming from an HD2 and a nexus one before and a G1 before that I am tired of using smartphones with horrible battery life... I'm hoping to get battery life similar to that of the blackberry 9700 (I had that between my G1 and Nexus) which i was ver impressed with it's battery getting up to 2 days out of it sometimes... Is the battery anything close to that? or is it another fail for smartphone batteries?

The battery life on the Vibrant is right up there with the best of a powerful smartphone with a large screen. It will not be like the BB however.
I love the battery life on this phone I have only charged it twice sense last Thursday I seem to be getting 24 hours of normal use or more off this battery. Normal use for me is lots of testing and browsing the net I also been showing off avatar been using the battery for that.

I too recently ordered this phone, and if the battery alone is better than then G1 I'll be happy. So far alot of good reviews. So hopefully a charger in my back pocket wont be necessary. I'll repost once I get it on Monday or Tuesday!
My nexus one got me about 4.5 to 5 hours heavy usage. This gets me 6 hours of heavy usage (straight internet). My n1 lasted a day of moderate usage, I noticed standby wasnt to great on it, but the vibrant I bet I could get 2 days light to moderate usage as I can already tell the Standby time kicks the arse off the n1....

I once had a G1, worst battery ever! You will be pleased with this one!
I haven't been overly impressed with the battery life. I might have something installed that is sucking it dry but 8-10 hours is all I get from a charge (Of course this is during the initial "wow" period of getting a new phone).
Did my 1st battery test yesterdy. Unplugged it from the charger at 11am. Sittin at the throne browsing fb & twitter, email, xda (legs ended up falling aslep lol) Used camera & video for about 30 mins on the biggest resolution. Daughter was on youtube for about an hour in the car (Weird Al Yankovic's trapped in the drive thru on repeat smh). Surfing the web for a good 45 mins while wifey & daughter shopping. Watchng avatar. Get home at around 10pm and battery just now dopped to 50%. Best battery ive had since my bb8700! hopefully a higher mah stock size battery is in the work so my vibrant can go on beast mode!
Lol I had the 9700 no smart phone would have the battery life that thing has unless a new form of battery technology emerges that thing best point is to live

FYI just got mine and it is charging now. At the store I checked out the battery stats on the demo unit (in theory it has had a good deal of play time from customers) and it was at 32% and unplugged for 2 days and like 5 hours. That is damn GOOD. If we get custom kernels on this thing, that would be intense.
I think it's pretty bad. I only have exchange email on it and nothing else syncing. Even when I'm not using it much the battery is down to 70%. What's worse is that the battery meter will appear to be 100% even when it's downto 82%. I have to charge it after about 8 hours and keep in mind I have a 9700 that is my #1 for email and messaging via bbm. I could only imagine if this were my only phone. I'd probably need to find a charge after 6 hours. It's better than the hd2 however but I go 2 days without charging my blackberry so I hope that's not what you're looking for.
I will however any that for a super android device it probably had the best battery when compared to the evo, incredible, droid x etc

You can get a good 10 to 12 hours out of it with heavy usage, which is great for a smart phone .
In terms of fast, large screen smartphones, the battery life is slightly better than average in my opinion. It's a 1500mah pack as compared to the 1150mah pack in my G1. It's definitely not to the point where I would like it to be, but there isn't a phone on the market that can really provide me with that capability (unless some type of new battery tech comes out).
You can just go into your settings, then about phone and then battery usage and you'll see a breakdown of what your usage was since the last time it was plugged in charging. For me the screen is still dominating the power usage. That should be pretty typical of any large screen smartphone. Since the AMOLED is 20% more efficient than LCD it should translate to slightly better overall battery life.
Remember guys, this is also battery life with the stock kernel. I'm sure once we get a dev team working on uv/oc kernels, we'll see some significant fluctuation in the battery life, much like we saw with the N1 almost doubling battery life with the right kernel.
I have to say, my battery life has been rather mediocre at best so far. Yesterday got down to 30% in about 8 hours, and all I did was send maybe 10 text messages and make two calls. I turned off Facebook and Twitter syncing in hopes that it would help. I barely used the damn thing and it ate through the battery. It's syncing my Gmail account and two Hotmail accounts (checking every hour). I hope that I'm just not noticing using it more. In cases when I do sit down and use it heavily, battery runs down incredibly quickly. I'm rather concerned.

Conditioning is a myth... LiOn batteries don't need to be conditioned. The phone needs to be conditioned to properly report the battery, but it shouldn't be this bad.
Ok so I read a post that said drain your battery completely for better performance so i did.Got low bat warning and played Avatar to kill it quick.Only it didnt die fast,seemed like forever for this damn thing to really die!!!Maybe I just imagined it so I tried it again.Got low bat warning and watched a 25 min youtube vid followed by a 16 min youtube vid and several rap videos before it cut off.Try it and see how long it takes to really run out of juice and I think youll be surprised
I remembered with my G1, that once i got the low battery warning, I was always able to milk every ounce of power from that battery.
after picking up my vibrant yesterday, i charged to a full 100% with the phone turned off
i've been on it all day long, installing apps and restarting quite frequently, and i just got my first battery warning (21%)
will probably run it into the ground after work for another full cycle charge then just charge whenever it needs it. seems to have more than enough to make through a full day, and i'm only saying this because i haven't been able to put it down since this morning and it's still ticking
edit: and this is all done indoors with fluctuating 3g/2g coverage (home and work)
I have twice run my battery into the ground and charged to 100% with the phone off. Now I am getting a little over 25 hours on a single charge. this battery is indeed better than they said it was.

Better than what?
If coming from an old WM, sure, it's better.
But coming from an iPhone, which lasted for 2 days with real use, the battery of the Vibrant sucks.
With moderate use, I can's get through a full day (14-16 hours). It's the one real problem I have with this otherwise great phone.

I had two 3Gs (now have a Galaxy S and a Vibrant). It lasted almost double what the Vibrant does, with similar use.
Love the screen of the Samsung, but the battery is making me a little depressed. I am hoping that Froyo will improve it a bit.

yeah, hopefully drops sometime soon.
it seems battery life is either really good or really poor, not a lot of middle ground. of course, this could mostly be because of different peoples' opinions. but i'm coming from a dumbphone i only had to charge once a week, and so far i'm pretty impressed. like i mentioned earlier, i've been on this thing non-stop since this morning, and it's just now flashing the battery symbol at me. i imagine once i go through a couple of full cycles, and the new toy factor wears off, it will be a non-issue (for me)

Why not just buy some extra batteries? I picked up 3 extra batteries for when I fly so I can watch movies with no worries...
I get great battery life on my Vibrant. Make sure you turn off everything that you don't need....wifi, gps, keep screen brightness low and not on 100% at all times etc...obvious stuff....

Man, I have turned the brightness down to below stock, and I do have two extra batteries. But that's kind of like going back to my WM days.
After the getting spoiled on the iPhone, which would last for almost two full days with everything running, and with similar use, I really hate having to constantly think about the battery, and worry that it's going to die on me.
True story:
Someone hit my car a few days ago and I tried to take a pic with my Vibrant. It was in late afternoon, so the battery was at 15% I guess -- so the phone effectively told me to "F*** Off." Or at least that's how I took it No pic, of course.

I hear where you're coming from...have you tried switching out the battery to a different one? I know that some of the batteries were faulty and gave people horrible battery life.
The iPhone also ran at a much slower clock speed and it was equipped with a pretty good battery. There's no denying the awesomeness of the iPhone battery...I'm just thinking that you may have a bad battery. Try changing it out.
There's also a 2800mAh battery pack coming out very soon....it may suit your wants and needs...
The iPhone also lacks widgets and multitasking - and the screen is not as bright so those all help in maintaining battery life.
If you crippled your android in the same way - you could get 2 days pretty easily as well.

I have both, and they both have their good points and bad points.
The battery is a bad point for the Vibrant.
The screen is the best point (it's actually not "brighter", but has much better contrast than a backlit LCD). I keep the Vibrant's screen at it's lowest brightness, anyway.
But in terms of speed, there is really not much difference in daily use - if anything, the iPhone 3Gs feels a little smoother much of the time. Again something Froyo might improve.
My well conditioned battery is at 5%, after 16hrs 54 min., with very light non-call use today (calls are at 49 min. 26 sec.).
My point is, that I have to expect more after using the iPhone, while some here are obviously happy with it. But it ain't great.

We get five to six hours of display on with this phone. That number is perfect if the phone was on 35% precent or more of those 16 hours.

It's ALL about the apps you use.
My battery life is pretty good, I can go two days with moderate phone use and my normal heavy-e-mail and occasional messaging usage. I don't do much web browsing with it, but I fiddle with it constantly throughout the day.
My friend couldn't get through one day on his, so I encouraged him to play around with some of the apps he had that I didn't, and now he can get well into day two before it gets low enough he wants to recharge.
My wife complained about her battery life, and I realized she was pinging four e-mail accounts once per minute. Just cutting that back to a five minute interval made a huge difference.
Even so, I've ordered spare batteries and a charger since I travel often and a missed call could cost me a lot of money, and they're too cheap to not keep a few around. (In one of those other threads somebody linked to an ebay deal with two batteries and a charger for 8 bucks.)

That's almost universally a theme when people complain about Android battery usage.
Got my replacement Vibrant yesterday afternoon, charged it full while turned off and took it out at around 9pm. Worked on it a little last night and today installing apps browsing and about 60 min talk time so far.... 3PM and still got 30% left.
Definitely much better battery life than the one I had on first phone. I did get a replacement battery as well, but haven't tested that one yet. This one so far is working as expected.
I haven't rooted yet so I am not sure if that and lag fix has any affect on the battery.
Also ATK is not installed yet, and i hear it has adverse affect on battery. Is that true?

Mine is just fine. gets me through a full 8 hour work day and then some. Its right there with the evo and other android devices. Want better battery life?, unferclock it like iphone 4.

Not sure what you are expecting as far as battery life but I have spent hours doing everything from GPS to downloading apps from wi fi and I get about a good 7 - 8 hours. No problems here.

You ask your phone to do everything but wipe your rear end. It does more than Apple ever thought about, and we demand even more as customers. Faster Data, faster processors, more ram. Guys I hate to break it to you - but you want battery life go get a feature phone or blackberry. Otherwise, quit complaining about all the stuff you ask your device to do on such a small amount of energy. If we would quit caring so much about design and weight, phone companies could pack a car battery into it for you - look at Sedio... completely ruins the aesthetics of the phone, but you get longer battery life!

My EVO was pulling roughly 15-20 hours of battery life out of a full charge.
Thus far, I haven't been able to break 12 hours with the Epic, doing the same thing and with roughly the same usage. It's more than enough for a day, and I'm almost never near a charger (office, car, home, etc) but it'd be nice to have an extra boost. Bought those 2 for 10 Chinese batteries as a just in case.
At work right now and while streaming dubstep.fm and chatting on aim, my Epic is discharging while it's plugged into the charger.
You people that come into ever battery thread telling everyone to quit complaining and lauding the 8 hours of battery life you phone gets are not only completely missing the point, you're also contributing nothing to the discussion and perpetuating this conception that a third of a day is more than good enough for a phone's battery life. I mean, ****, my laptops get 8 hours of battery life.
The issue here is that we can clearly see that an android phone can get as much as 4 hours of 3g browsing time and 8 hours of wifi browsing time. The fact that this phone fails to come even close to that amount is alarming. A 25% reduction 3g browsing time and a whopping 38% reduction in wifi browsing time should make you question what is going on in this phone. Especially since the manufacturing process that produced this SOC is supposed to be much more power efficient than the one that produced the HTC evo.
I for one am really hoping samsung is aware of this issue and that battery life can be improved via some software tweaks. I owned the HTC evo. I was able to easily get 20 hours of battery life out of that phone doing the exact same things I do now. I was hoping to be able to match that with this phone. But right now, there is definitely an issue. Any of you people that deny it are seriously deluding yourselves.
I too have been frustrated by the surprisingly poor battery life. I've been holding back on believing it is a real problem because the first few days I had my Evo, it too had terrible battery life. However, with the Evo, after some battery conditioning, a hard reset and configuring the phone for what I wanted it to do vs what it came configured to do (Ex: I do not need push email, google voice or 4G running all the time and 25% screen brightness with a widget to switch it to 100% when needed) the Evo stepped up to the plate and settled into a cadence of giving me over 24 hours of use on a single charge.
I've had an Epic for over a week now. I've used it exactly as I do my Evo. I configured it the same as the Evo and in some cases with more extreme battery preserving (Ex: set the screen brightness to zero and only sync email every two hours (rather than the Evo's every hour)) and I can barely make it 14 hours, and that is a 14 hour DEAD stop.
Two other issues that are driving me crazy are the GPS and 3G performance.
It seems that when I'm sitting at home, the GPS will lock in about 10 seconds, but if I'm on the road in a random place (when I need the GPS the MOST) it will simply not lock if I'm driving and if I stop, it will eventually (maybe 5 minutes) lock.
3G performance has been absolutely horrible. I put the Epic right next to an Evo and TP2 and the Epic will get between 1/4th to 1/8th the throughput of the others. If I switch to Wifi, all is well and 4G is comparable (although not as reliable) to the Evo.
I am a keyboard person, the only thing wrong with the Evo was it did not have a keyboard. The Epic is exactly what I want, but these three strikes are making it tough to love. The 3G problem should be easy to fix with an update, as for the GPS and battery I don't know. I'm anxiously watching Sprint / Samsung to see if they will produce an update (see if they stand behind this product.)
BTW, at the end of a day, the number 1 battery culprit (according to the battery settings) is the display. With approx 1 to 1.5 hours of use at 0% brightness with an all black background, it still takes 50% to 65% of the battery (people posting that Super AMOLED saves battery over LCD are simply wrong.) The next offenders are Cell standby and phone idle. I was experiencing the 50% no signal problem, the workaround to cycle airplane mode helped that. But it does bring up another issue, although I have not had any call drops, the signal strength is consistently two bars (out of 6) lower than my Evo and TP2 (sitting right next to each other. At my home and in my office, my Evo and TP2 get 5 to 6 bars (full signal) but the Epic is 3 bars. I know the bars shown are not a good indicator and I don't have any dropped calls, but I wonder if this is not causing battery drain. This also makes me concerned that the main problem with this phone may not be solvable with software, it may be poor antenna design / implementation.
Wow, if more people actually realized that the SAMOLED screen uses MORE battery when displaying white pixels, we'd see less threads like this and less articles like the one posted.
On SAMOLED screens, each pixel is individually lit. White requires the most light. Constant web browsing will kill your battery FASTER than anything else because white is the color of choice when it comes to mobile web pages.
With that being said, OTHER THAN WEB BROWSING the battery on the Epic is much better than the EVO.

Heh. That would be nice. In the meantime, I use a darker wallpaper. When using the kindle app, I use white text on a black background. I keep my brightness at 0% (surprisingly still pretty bright) unless I go outside.
My battery if fine too. Turn off wat u don't need and you'll be fine. Mine lasts 8 or 9 hours. U can't expect to use this beast at full power doing everyting all the time and expect this 1500 battery t be magically long lasting. Same prob with evo. Tame the beast

A-effing-men man. The more features the phone has (or that you use), of course the more battery its going to drain. I came from the 9630 blackberry and i had about 6-10% battery drain per hour so this Epic isnt too bad of a switch for me since i am a heavy user.

Anyone know of any extended batteries for it? I was quite happy with my G1's thickness, so adding a few mm on here should be fine.
(Also, screw form over function - last thing I want is a pretty, comfortable brick.)

Really sad when "a good 7 - 8 hours. No problems here" is now the yard stick battery life we expect from smartphones. Nothing smart there really.

3G performance has been absolutely horrible. I put the Epic right next to an Evo and TP2 and the Epic will get between 1/4th to 1/8th the throughput of the others. If I switch to Wifi, all is well and 4G is comparable (although not as reliable) to the Evo.
I am a keyboard person, the only thing wrong with the Evo was it did not have a keyboard. The Epic is exactly what I want, but these three strikes are making it tough to love. The 3G problem should be easy to fix with an update, as for the GPS and battery I don't know. I'm anxiously watching Sprint / Samsung to see if they will produce an update (see if they stand behind this product.)
BTW, at the end of a day, the number 1 battery culprit (according to the battery settings) is the display. With approx 1 to 1.5 hours of use at 0% brightness with an all black background, it still takes 50% to 65% of the battery (people posting that Super AMOLED saves battery over LCD are simply wrong.) The next offenders are Cell standby and phone idle. I was experiencing the 50% no signal problem, the workaround to cycle airplane mode helped that. But it does bring up another issue, although I have not had any call drops, the signal strength is consistently two bars (out of 6) lower than my Evo and TP2 (sitting right next to each other. At my home and in my office, my Evo and TP2 get 5 to 6 bars (full signal) but the Epic is 3 bars. I know the bars shown are not a good indicator and I don't have any dropped calls, but I wonder if this is not causing battery drain. This also makes me concerned that the main problem with this phone may not be solvable with software, it may be poor antenna design / implementation.

Wasn't SuperAmoLED supposed to be the wunderkid technology battery life saver? It seems not to be the case with these descriptions like yours. What gives? So it looks better than LCD but sucks just as much juice??
Hi, I been having the HTC Surround for a little over a week now. I love the look and feel to it (I know OS wise it has a lot of improvements to do but I'm willing to put up with it for a bit, considering its a new OS). However one thing I notice is that it has horrible battery life! The phone last about 10/12 Hrs on a full charge. During this time period, there is no heavy use; tops 50 txt messages send and received, about an hour of music, screen lock (brightness set to low, when on), perhaps 15 minutes of talk time, data connection turn off, about 20 minutes of WiFi (I turn off WiFi when not in use), rest of the time on stand by as mention before (with the screen locked). Another thing i noticed yesterday night was that my phone was charge completely, i left it on stand by and within 5 hrs that i slept the phone had gone a little lower than 3/4ths (data connection was off).
I read a post here that said battery may drain quicker when phone is left in cold weather and i thought maybe this could be the case. However I'm really skeptical because i live in Los Angeles. Cold weather, which is this time of the year, is mid 40 degrees at its lowest! That's not cold! But anyways i guess I'll try putting that theory on a test (imma try keeping it warm, see if it makes a difference)
so is anyone else experiencing horrible battery life? Or am I just an unlucky person who got a defective battery?

What "theme" are you using?
If I don't use my phone, it will last for days. Even when I use it through out the day, it lasts well into the next morning/afternoon.
The battery life does get better the more you drain/charge it.

well, I been having it for a week now. I seen no difference in battery life. But imma give it another week or so. See if this works. Then I'm gonna try buying different battery. If that doesn't help, I think I'm going to have to switch back to my Samsung Captivate. I would hate doing this, but this type of battery life is a deal breaker. Today, it was even worse! It lasted me only 9hrs while I was at work, which at least 8 of those hrs it was on stand by!
Sounds like you have a bad battery, bro. I'd get it replaced at the store you bought it from.

yeah, I'm going to try this on my day off which is on Monday. Also gives me time to test out the other persons suggestion

My surround - now two weeks old is showing much improved battery life. It didn't make it through a day when I first got it. Part of that was due to my fiddling with it and part due - I think - to the battery conditioning.
Now, it is going a full day on a charge. I am also switching off 3G and on WiFi when I am in my office or home. It is a bit of a pain in the butt and I hope that M$ gives up some APIs soon so that someone - cough Bruce Jackson cough - will write an app. We'll see.
I have noticed that the Bluetooth drains the battery considerably faster. Try turning Bluetooth off when you don't need it.

I don't use the Bluetooth at all. So this can't be the problem. but thanks anyways. (I might need this information since I was planing on using one in the near future).
So I notice that now, my Surround does get better battery life. (which is absolutely crazy! since now I have the screen brightness on medium and data turn on lol). I guess the battery just needed to be use and charge a bit more. However, I still think battery life could be improved. (hopefully, future updates will teak some system settings that will do this)
I have also decided that I will keep my Surround instead of going back to my Captivate I wish battery life would be better and the OS to be more "open" but truth be told, I fell in love with my phone haha Then when i went back to my Samsung Captivate, it felt weird. Android felt much slower.
So i gave it a little test; I launched messaging, email, music, browser, etc on both phones at the same time. Turns out both of them launch these native applications in the same amount of time.
I guess what makes WP7 fell smother and faster is the (eyecandy) transitions.

ya i have had mine for 2 weeks now and i think the problem is the fact that the battery is a 1230mAh, and we also have a samsung focus with a 1450mAh battery that will last an exra 2-3 hours longer which makes a huge difference! im hoping htc will make a larger mAh battery avaliable, mine will only last anywhere from 5-7 hours from normal use
I just ordered a Mugen 1300mah battery..not *much* more capacity, but hopefully it helps a bit!
if i dont use my surround (like not using too much 3g, wifi, music, gaming, and just normal phone calls and texts) it can last a whole day and probably a lil more, but when i do too much 3g/wifi/gaming/music it drains quickkkkkk.
and i do hope htc will have a larger capacity battery for the surround soon... 1230 is kinda small compare to other phones nowadays..
but still this has much better battery life than my previous phones (diamond2 and touchpro)
i just find myself carrying the usb cable and wall charger alot in my bag :]
and having a car charger is a plus also.
My girlfreind has had the phone since xmas. Initially the battery would lose its charge very quickly. I had her do a bump charge and just let the battery settle in. She can now go up a third day wothout the need for a charge with moderate txt.

Agree - Bad Battery Life - But not as bad as some....
Smart phones, in general, aren't what I would call great at conserving battery life under any condition. Pick any model of high-end smart phone and tell me who can get more than 2 days (using every trick in the book to eliminate unnecessary drain). Yes, this phone is under-powered in terms of only having a 1300 mAh battery when it should have a 1400 or 1500.
Cut the unnecessary stuff when you are not using it - Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.
You can easily get a day + out of this phone with moderate/mixed use (some talking, some browsing, some multi-media viewing). That's pretty good, I'd say (from my relative experience across many different types of smart phones). I just plug it in every night.....pick it up in the morning and go. Haven't had any issues with it running out during the day.
Now, if you are starting first thing in the morning and running movies, have the bluetooth going, the WiFi on........well, heck yes, you are going to have a battery drain problem. If you want to run it that way.....just leave it plugged in.
Has anyone used a Seidio Innocell 1300mAh Replacement battery? Was wondering if it was worth the investment to improve the Surround's poor battery performance.

It really sucks that these phone manufacturers are giving us ALL these fancy features that drain the battery and when we complain about having poor battery life they are telling us to not use all those fancy features...kinda defeats the purpose of buying a smartphone, am I right?

I noticed this as well. As time went by the battery actually started to last longer. When i first got it i used it less than i do now and the battery would die before i even got home for work. Now it lasts till about an hour or so after i finish and get home.
does the surround use the same battery as the HTC desire HD?
Theres an ebay seller that is selling a surround battery and wall charger but the wall charger has a sticker that says: For HTC Desire HD
i am planning to buy HTC DHD in a day or two......
all my friends say the battery is poor and blah... blah..
but i like the design, features, etc...
is the Battery really very poor and is there any other trouble in that mobile!!
There are roms that could help you out. They can increase your DHD's battery life If you are willing to root your phone...
I most admit... With normal ROM, the battery really suck.
I haven't tried to root and put a custom ROM on yet, but only heard good things about it!

The battery is no worse than any other HTC, infact the battery is slightly better on my DHD than my classic desire.

I've got a standard DHD, not rooted and no custom roms and I have no problem with the battery. I can get more than 24 hours out of a single charge and that is with what I would consider heavy use.
Echoing what has already been said, yes the battery life can be quite poor. My phone will last for a "day" out of the house, by which i mean ~8am-6pm, but will be at ~20% when i get home, so will need charging.
That said, the rest of the features more than make up for that in my opinion
If you manage your data and what you actually use your phone for then you can get lots of time out of your dhd, if you slam your phone by downloading loads and streaming all kinds of videos to it and using gps on maps constantly then yea it'll go, but for the size of the battery and what the phone can do i'm amazed it lasts as long as it does.
Right now I'm at 11h and 39m with 56% left. This is with 3g on. Facebook and twitter every 30 min but its set to automatically update. Surfing, Texting, and a few calls were made as well.
Replace the stock ROM with one of the ROMs available here. I personally use LeeDroid 2.3.4 Beta 4 with an updated Radio. And I am very happy with it. It has given me a better battery life as well as removal of those useless HTC apps is a bonus. I still use sense which adds a lot of frills to stock android. Also look into the battery threads where there are ideas on what to do to optimize battery usage.
If you are getting your first smartphone you'll probably be disappointed in terms of battery. They are like little laptops and you know how much their batteries drain out. It's not that bad, but it's completly different than a normal phone.
You can drain the battery in 4 hours with very heavy usage, with semi-heavy it'll last for ~8 hours. With my use I get about 24 hours. I get up in the morning (15mins Wifi), go to school 15mins Angry Birds, 20 mins or more wifi, come home and wifi + play for 20 mins. Calls 5mins. Go to sleep phone on standby. Next day the same and after school I'll charge and it'll be at 5%. This is very light use.
I'm using Android Revolution, but I'm getting worse battery than with stock because I flashed a bad radio for Finland.
Other faults, I've only found one.
First: The speaker, it's pretty bad. Sometimes if you are in a noisy place you might even miss a call because of the silent speaker. Want to listen to music or watch youtube videos using the phone's speaker? That'll be hard...
I had the same problem with the ROM Cyanogen CM7.
Consumption of the battery far too high.
You should know that the HTC rom with sense use a proprietary driver and less greedy.
For other's rom's hacking in the kernel.
I returned on a rom with sense, Leedroid 2.3.4, I' have never eaten my battery so little.
For Rom's nosense, I wait that problems are solved

I'll second that. Mine is the same too.
Given the Pros of the device I will not mind the battery life. Its ok-ish.
I am on stock ROM and I kinda have better battery then when I was on Revolution HD. It gets better after a week usage and after a simple calibration. I get between 24 and 36 hours of medium usage and 3g and autosync aways on. I think its pretty great for this beast!
