How do I uninstall an App I can no longer see? - Focus General

I installed YouTube and LazyWorm YouTube on my Focus.
My Focus dumped when powercycling and I pulled SD card, reformatted etc and phone is back up and running beautifully.
Except, I cannot see YouTube or LazyWorm YouTube after re syncing with Zune.
This makes sense because to install LazyWorm you have to already have YouTube installed.
The problem is that when I go to the marketplace via Zune, it says that I have already downloaded YouTube and it will not let me re install.
How do I find and force uninstall YouTube so that I can re install it and then LazyWorm.

Actually I was able to reinstall this time after I checked marketplace via the Focus. I had checked it before but it did not work then. Anyway, all is well now.

[Q] Cannot update certain applications.

Hi gentlemen (and ladies ).
I'm having an issue with my Nexus One (and the misses with her Desire).
Both of them are up to date, stock rom, nothing fancy installed.
I (and her) are unable to install the new YouTube application. We can't find it in the market, nor can we update through AppBrain for example.
So my question to you all is: WHY?
We live in Belgium.
Extra: My Nexus One can't update Amazon MP3 and Voice Search neither.
All other updates work correctly, I just received the GMail update, so that works just fine .
Any suggestions?
I also cannot install the new YouTube app. I've tried a ton of times now, so its not you it must be a problem on Google's end. Should be fixed soon.
Youtube installed fine for me.
Maybe you have a version thats signed differently ? themed?
try uninstalling what you have first.
Try uninstall the app with Titanium Backup and then install from market. This resolves the problem for me

Yup, this is what I've always done. I had to do it with the new Gmail and YouTube apps.
I use root explorer to delete the app from \system\apps then reboot and re-install from market. Simple enough, though I usually still have to reboot between removing and reinstalling.
Kind of a pain but that's what we get for running custom rom's I guess
Well gentlemen, thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. The problem is: I don't have a rooted phone. I guess I'll wait for Gingerbread, that'll happen pretty soon I guess

RAFDROID HD, cant install apps!

Basically i installed the the RAFDROID HD 4.0.2 onto my HD2, everything is working perfectly fine except for the marketplace. I open it up and click on any app, click okay for the permissions and click on the install button, the apps download, but gets stuck on the installing.... part and wont go away. Ive restarted the phone, ive searched around to see if anyone has had the same problem, but have come up short.
I get the same thing
i've got the same problem.
i can't install apps either. and i love the rom but without my apps i'll have to go back. any help would be appreciated
what version of the hd2 are you using?
i am assuming you have an ext partition on your sd card if you have a eu device
i have the same. i can´t install any app of the market and when i try to download an app with the web browser.
it´s only downloading and then it says "installing" but nothing happens.
is there any update to fix is?

[Q] Market search works, will not download apps

I cannot get the market to install any applications, though it is working and searchable.
I rooted my nook2e with Xboxexpert's nooter.img and script package, and updated the vending.apk with no results. I ran touchnooter 1.6.24, and now the market works and is searchable, but none of the apps i pick will download, or install.
It's been incremental gains here and there though this whole process... just one last step to get market working!
(also, the youtube app wont run, and gmail says it must be synced with an account, but in the Settings tab for the nook, you cannot add any of the facebook/twitter/google account information, it just flashes the screen and goes back to the previous setting screen.
I had a similar problem. If you can get vending.apk it will fix the download problem

This is the one i updated to, didnt fix the downloading problem.

ok, so, i fixed it, and here's how!
I cleared the nook, using the menues to do a factory memory wipe...
Then i put TouchNooter on an SD card, and installed that. Then i ran XboxExpert's batch script to install apps and change settings etc. Then i put the updated Vending.apk file on the sd card and ran that update twice... the first time it made the market not work at all.
but now it works and downloads and searches and everything!

[Q] DFT Freedom ROM v1.3>sideloads not working

Installed DFT Freedom ROM v1.3 in my Samsung Focus yesterday; everything was working fine! Today I synced some music from Zune Marketplace, installed Touch Develop and downloaded some related scripts & tutorials; no error messages. Tried to sideload Nokia Maps Beta XAP>max apps error message. Now I notice NONE of my sideloaded apps are working on the phone (TouchExperience, WP7 Root Tools, etc.).
Suggestions?
Thanks.

Uninstall the last you sideloaded and try again. If it works, max apps value got screwed somehow. If it doesn't, I suggest asking in the main thread.

maybe your phone was relocked, try reset your phone using settings/about
- Using registry editor to prevent relock : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
"PortalUrlProd"=""
"PortalUrlInt"=""
before you connect your phone to pc

youtube stops working after 6.0.1 update

My 6p was stock rooted using the "old" method with modified boot image (i.e. not systemless). I manually flashed the 6.0.1 update and apply superSU 2.62 (i.e. systemless root). The youtube app worked after the first boot, but when I rebooted the 6p the youtube app no longer works -- I kept getting "Please check your network connection". I uninstalled the app, clear app data/cache but to no avail. I even reflashed 6.0.1; again, the youtube app worked in the first boot, but no afterwards.
I've been on wifi all the time, and I could watch youtube from my browser by going to m.youtube.com (and use adobe flash).
Everything else works after the 6.0.1 update. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset. Please help!
try flashing an older version of youtube
Or, is it because two different root processes were used? Thought I read in another thread that causes issues????

Thanks. I tried that but it didn't work ("App not installed"). In fact I tried to install an old version in multiple ways:
* just install it from ES file explorer
* freeze the current one first using TB and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /data/app/com.google.android.youtube-1 and then install
* put a copy of the old one in /system/app/Youtube and then install
Same error message.

Never heard of that -- could you give me a reference? (I'm not disagreeing with you; I just want to learn more about it).
When I upgrade from 6 to 6.0.1. I reflashed everthing except userdata and recovery; in particular I had to reroot my 6p. I assume that would have erased the old root processes? (this is a question)
Please help me get back youtube!

uninstall all updates to the youtube app. then, flash clear youtube 10.43 LP-MM - from here http://teamblackedout.com/Transparent/ . I flashed it using TWRP, it installs as a system app, replacing your stock youtube app. so if you want to keep the stock youtube app make a backup or know how to pull the stock gapp from the stock factory images.
my youtube didn't work earlier, this is what i did and now it's all working right again
Edit: important that it's the MM version (marshmallow) if you grab it from that link

Thanks! Question: How would I uninstall all updates to my current youtube app?
On my older devices, under Settings>Apps>Manage Apps there is indeed a button for "Uninstall updates", but I can't find that on my 6p (or even my KitKat or Lollipop devices). I probably missed it; please help!

Yea I noticed that was weird. You can do it by hitting the uninstall button in Google play. It'll ask "do you want to uninstall updates"
Or from that system app menu you mentioned, you can select De activate app and it'll ask you if you want to uninstall updates

Thanks, but there is a new problem: On my 6p I don't even have the option to uninstall the youtube app!
I just notice that, according to TB, my phone only has one version of the youtube app; maybe that's why I can't uninstall updates? What would happen if I just flash the zip directly without uninstalling all updates?

if TiBu doesn't say "updated" then you just have the stock system youtube. i flashed the team blackout zip right over that system version and it fixed my problem. if you're problem is the same as mine, it should work.

The zip did remove the youtube system app. I then rebooted and successfully installed an older version of youtube. However, this older version (10.11.55) still gives me the "Check your network connection" error, and according to xprivacy this older version got installed as a system app!
When I first fired up the newer installed, older youtube I got a spinning circle on the screen. It seemed to try to log into my account and couldn't; maybe that's the network connection problem it refers to? BUT: (1) the play store works, (2) I've never logged into youtube (account blocked by xprivacy), (3) when I remove all xprivacy restriction the app still didn't work, (4) when I tried to manually sign into youtube it did not recognize my account!
I'm really confused. Suggestions and comments are most welcome!

10.11 may be too old a version. I just know 10.43 worked for me. i'd try that one if i were you
edit: if you flashed the 10.43 zip already, then installed 10.11 over it, you'd just need to uninstall updates to youtube and try to run the system version (which should be the 10.43 you flashed). also, try wiping YouTube app data in TiBu

I installed a 64bit 10.43 youtube apk, but that didn't work either. So I uninstalled it from TB, but the youtube icon still showed up in the application tray even through the app not longer worked when I clicked on it. Instead of using the cleaning zip I used instead the root explorer option in ES file explorer to remove this left-over youtube apk. Reboot, youtube now was really gone from the app tray. Then I reinstalled the 10.43 apk, and wa la, it worked even after multiple reboots!
I don't exactly know what happens; I'm just glad that it works THANKS!
