[Q] Any way to clear ALL Txt Messages? - Focus General

is there a way to clear ALL txt messages .. bulk style. The only way
i can find is to manually delete one at a time, which is very times consuming when you have a couple hundred txts from a computer gone crazy
thanks for any and all help
otherwise.. the Focus ROCKS!

I dunno if you can delete every text message with one action, but you can delete text conversation threads by pressing and holding your finger over the conversation thread. When you do that, the option to delete the thread should appear.

I just tried to write a little app that would do that and, alas, like so many other things, the Windows Phone 7 API just doesn't provide a function for it.
So, while I can open a new SMS compose task I can't see all existing SMS messages, nor emails, etc., etc.
So, I'm afraid that if you really want to get rid of all of them you either need to do it conversation by conversation or do a hard reset.

bummer.. hard reseting to get rid of a couple hundred txts is a pain.. Im sure it will come in some update.. at least it handle all the txts fine.. unlike wm6.5

Couple questions about the Treo Pro...

Couple things i'm sure someone can help me with but first one is:
When I receive a txt msg and say im consistently chatting with someone. If i dont exit and reopen the message the amount of unread msg's starts adding up even though I'm in the conversation with them on the window. So eventually after like 20 txts between the person, I have to exit and reopen the message to show all the messages have been read. Its so friggin annoying!!! Any solutions?
Another thing I just cant figure out but if I have call waiting and I'm in a call, how the hell do I switch to the other line on this phone???? I cant figure it out.
1. Use your d-pad to scroll up in the SMS app to clear unread messages...
2. You just push the green talk button to flash to the other line.
Sweet... I cooked my phone with Cfays 6.5.1 ROM and its fixed in that... When you get like 5 txt msgs, u read it once and they're all marked as read.... so happy.

wait for txt messages before typing! arrgh!

ok, so, im guessing we all know this already... if we have over 1 txt message saved when trying to reply to a txt message its a pain. since you cant type while the messages are loading... any way to make it so that you can type when its loading? help!
thx in advance
I can start typing, but the screen is jumping back a few messages, then I must scroll down and tap into the white area and continue to wirte my text. Some times it is laggy tou
Use the search chaps... there are many threads on this very 'issue'.
When opening a thread of messages, the HTC messaging app loads all messages in the thread (typing whilst loading does now work after HTC 'fixed' it, however it will probably be laggy). Once all messages have loaded a 'feature' of HTC messaging highlights the last msg.
A simple workaround is to attempt to send a blank txt, then when asked to confirm select no. Messages stop loading and you're able to type fine.

Eris grey envelope with arrow wont go away HELP!!

Ok so this notification just started on my Eris! when I get a message(only text not emails) this grey envelope with a arrow on it comes up in my notifications even after I’ve read and replied to the message its still there until I click it and i take me to the message that ive already replied to. I’ve turned of all settings has far as auto retrieve and text notification but it still comes up! I deleted a bunch of apps thinking maybe one of them was causing this. I called htc they had no answers but to do a hard reset and lose everything not something I want to do! So if ya know something that would help please let me know thanks!
I found a fix
Aspotcat can be downloaded from the market it will show you what is running with ur text. found out some weird app was on there but no where to be found in my phone deleted it and problem solved!
Okay..seems like you have two text message applications....
IF thats the case, then try the following:
Your stock application can be reached from the app drawer...go there and then open the stock sms application...then go to settings and remove the check next to "notification"....
Now you should only have a notification every time you receive a text from the secondary application you're using..(i.e., handcent, byte sms, etc)
Now if you did that and your message is still showing..delete all of the messages in the stock application...this should clear it...or then simply open every single text up..(im sure you're running threaded messaging so it'll be a little eaiser)
If that still doesnt work...repeat the following using your secondary messaging application (handcent..blah blah)
Now if you did that and your message is still showing..delete all of the messages in the stock application...this should clear it...or then simply open every single text up..(im sure you're running threaded messaging so it'll be a little eaiser)
If you're still having problems...and are on a rooted rom....reflash a custom rom and you'll be fine!!

[Q] Deltion of Massive amounts of texts

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to delete text messages through the PC? I have a single thread of messages that is 4500 texts long, and when it opens up it takes for ever. its my Girlfriend, shes a textaholic

Click to collapse
I feel your pain. But I don't think there is a way to do it on the computer. Just press and hold your finger on the box before you enter the thread and there should be an option called "Delete Thread". Hope this works.
in the settings menu for messages there is a setting for "delete old messages" which will limit threads to a certain length and delete old ones. set a limit and it will auto delete for you.

Sms conversation problem.

Hi,
I've used GO Sms pro to backup my texts, but then I deleted some of the threads to clean up, and now it seems like there is a conversation with those people in the buttom of my inbox.
I've tried switching to stock sms app and handcent, but every name/deleted conversation still shows in the buttom, just empty.
Everytime I delete a thread, this happens, any suggestions how to remove them?
A hard reset seems a bit over the top but might be the only way out of this.
Running stock ROM
remove the backups with go sms?
Already did that m8
