issues with handcent sms?

has anyone else had these three issues with handcent sms
i've used the g1 fine since release and have upgraded to the htc desire last week, i find three issues with handcent on the desire
1. the "notification" led stops flashing after a few minutes until i unlock the phone, then it starts flashing again
2. unable to change the LED colour, there is the option in the settings but this merely disables the led when changing the colour
and
3. in the notifcation bar next to the clock, there used to be the handcent envelope and then it would have a number of unread messages - it now just shows the envelope with no number. even though in the settings i've asked it to show the number of unread messages with the envelope
i have played with the settings as i've used it fine with the g1 but cant get any of these things working with the desire, is anyone else facing these issues?

Everytime i reboot my phone i get a blank sms!

disable cb. Should help with the blank sms

Should be somewhere in the settings.
Setting -> Call -> Cell broadcast
should help...maybe

It seems it doesn't support draft sms!

I also got issues with the LED-Color in handcent...
But for me its more like there is NO led notification even though its activated.
LED me know BETA notifies me very well - so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the led...
I used Handcent for a long time on my Desire - it always worked well.
Last weekend I flashed the new DeFroST-Rom and with this it doesn't work

handcent symbol
when i get a text still getting 2 symbols coming up one hancent one from messages turned everything off apart from handcent ....i give up

my one is working fine, will post my settings up soon. it might help

pop up sms

any way to get a popup screen when u recieve a text? one that you can reply too not the one that the phone comes with....similar to how the andriod phones have?

I don't think there is , but is pushing one notification icon too much work??

Get handcent or compSMS. I use handcent. Worked better for me.
Edit: thought I was in the Desire forum, but I guess it should work anyway?

i mean its not that big a deal but just like anything else you put on the phone you dont need it but its cool.

Go into the notification settings:
settings-> all settings-> sounds & notifications-> notifications
from there select the event: Messaging: New text message. Check the box "Display message on screen"
Now when you get a text there will be a window that pops up from the bottom of the screen.

He wanted to be able to reply to it, too. The apps I suggested does that.

ill probably use chomp i had it on the g1 but i switched to just popup sms cuz i was ok with the factory txt messaging program..wanted to avoid using a whole nother sms program but o well

The apps you suggested are for Android and the HD2 is Windows Mobile so its not going to work.

NoLED - Not working

Anyone have any success setting up noLED on their fascinate yet? If so what, if any, setting adjustments did you have to make?? Thanks!

At first it was only working for emails for me version 2.1
Then when 2.1.1 was released I installed that and everything now works.

How does one get the LED light to work on this phone? I have the handcent messaging and my LED won't work at all.

there's not LED per se on the phone...
you have to download NO LED from the market, put the widget someone on your screen and tap it to turn it on, its on when you see the colors in the box, then go to settings and turn on for sms... not sure how it will work with handcent....
sms / gmail / missed calls work fine on mine
oh and once you install the app, you need to reboot your phone to get it working

So the sms notifications have started working intermittenly for me with a lot of force closes from the app. I'm rooted, does anyone have any ideas?

SMS notification bug since update!

Hello
Yesterday I updated the new firmware and since several hours I have a really big problem.
Every second SMS does not have a notification, sometimes it vibrates but there is no notification in the statusbar. So I have to open the SMS-App to see if I have a new SMS.
This really sucks! Anyone else with this problem?

Your problem is to do with text notifications not working properly after the OTA update. The thread I have given you discusses problems about the notifications not working properly after the OTA update. You can just post in there about your problem instead of creating a whole new thread.

Got the same problem as well. And It's about every second sms or so. So damn annoying

it's not a bug with the firmware exactly, but rather the Messaging app. So if you download another sms app the problem will be solved. Im using Go SMS right now and no missed notifications yet. Just dont forget to disable notifications with HTC's app if you plan on getting another from the market, or you'll get 2 notifications for some messages

I have Go SMS too. Cant work out how to turn off notifications for the HTC app. Can someone tell me how...
Edit: Found it now. For anyone else, go to messages app - settings and disable all the notification checkboxes

Sure. Open the app - Menu - Settings - Untick Received Notification. Done

GO into the "Messages" app then press the menu softkey, then press settings.
This is where all of your notifications are controlled for the messages app.

[Q]CM7 Phone is not vibrating on sms notification

So this is my problem.. Im using Typhoon CM7 rom, and ive got following problem:
My phone is not vibrating when i recieve sms. In settings i put vibrate on "always" and my phone is not vibrating when i recieve sms. Not even in normal profile mod (not silent). It vibrates for incoming calls in every profile,haptic feedback works fine.. But when i recieve sms,no vobration at all..
Any one got solution for my problem ?

maybe a dumb question but, you did go to into your stock messaging app then push menu and check settings there, right?
