Trophy Alarm clock bug - Trophy General

Hi guys,
i've noticed a couple of problems with my Trophy chief of them being that i can barely hear my alarm clock going of on the device.
I've made a video of it and uploaded it to youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUL6zWK9mU8
Are any of you having the same issue?
I've contacted HTC and they told me to take it back to the store and ask for a replacement.
One of the other issues i have is that the volume of music sometimes is also quite low. I have to restart the device to get my music to sound loud enough.
Regards
J.

see the reply you got on youtube
its get louder the longer the alarm is going it seems

So it seems.
But that leaves me wondering how up to date the HTC support staff is concerning WP7.
Apparently it does get louder, but why would the support guy tell me to do a hard reset and if that doesn't help return the device to the store.
He clearly doesn't know enough about WP7

that happens to me all the time if i call a helpdesk , they just follow a procedure... If you are more experience with this stuff , then you wouldnt work @ a helpdesk

I think I just expected to much from the support guy, lesson learned there
Thanks for all your replies!

Hey Jokesp
Ik heb net hetzelfde probleem zoals jij
heb je ondertussen al een oplossing voor gevonden voor die
muziek volume die soms stiller is geworden?
thx!

@ Elchico
De enige oplossing is het herstarten van het toestel.
HTC is hiervan op de hoogte, nu enkel wachten op een oplossing van hen.
Mvg

guys, please keep it english. if you need use google/bing translator and post it's translation below your post.

just dont lay your device flat on the table. this blocks the speaker and reduces volume by half at least.

thats an option.
What bugs me about the alarm is that when it rings for quite a while (I'm a heavy sleeper) and you have set a couple of alarms, and let the second one kick in, it to starts to ring (still no biggy cause its supposed to wake you up). So when I finally get up and dismiss the both alarms, and I unlock the device the home-screen doesn't respond. The live tiles are still moving, and everything seems fine, but I cant select anything, I can lock the screen again, and undo the screen lock again but the home-screen won't respond, so I have to reboot the device.
Hope they'll fix this in the next update

mtem: the quick fix is to get a wife who's really grumpy in the morning and doesn't have to get up before at least an hour after you. Believe me, that'll wake you up when she wakes up from the alarm
Maybe I should make an alarm app and call it PMS alert or something

hahaha yeah that's an easy fix
i'll just have to learn to snooze it on time
Till there is a fix for this

for me, when i wake up to dismiss the alarm, it freezes at unlock screen. Unable to switch off. only way is to remove battery and restart.

REPEAT in grayed out in sound & notifications ?

how to turned on "REPEAT" in sound & notifications ?
the box is grayed out (no accessible)
thanks
repeat is greyed out on mine too,
notice your signiture says your French living in Belgium,
I thought bad luck always comes in threes?
sorry only a joke, could not resist.
I believe its the continuation of what is a very annoying deficiency in the WM operation system. I had an xda 1, xda 2 and xda 2s, all without repeating, audible notifications. I really can't understand why MS have not fixed this by now... :x
Anyhow, Pocketmax PhoneAlarm (www.pocketmax.net) will fix this and give you profiles also. It worked great on my xda 2s, but has to be upgraded for WM2005. The developer promises a release in early December to support WM2005... Until then, you just have to check the phone regularly..
Regards
Chris
just started trying phone alarm, and as well as given the repeat function, in the profiles you can set a program to start when only power is plugged in without activesync.
eg when i plug the k-jam into the car lead tomtom automaticaly starts>
Please search for "How to Enable Repeat Play Audio Sound Notifications in Windows Mobile"
You will find the solution!

Help with 8125 that doesn't ring...

I'm about to flash back to original and relock my phone so that I can send it back to Cingular... I don't want to because thanks to everyone on these forums I've got an awesome phone with tons of kit that does everything I need except... it usually DOES NOT RING if there is an incoming call and the device is not actually running.
I have gone through a ton of new roms and radio roms and vanilla roms and I have found that since day one my Cingular 8125 does not ring more than half the time. Anyone else have this issue? I can't seem to find anything like it in the forums and I'm worried that I won't be able to get it replaced under warranty... I guess that's why there's a contract!
Wish me luck and shoot me some advice if you can, thanks to Faria, Molski, and Anichillus for the awesome ROMs, hopefully one of you gentlemen will know what's F#@%ed with my device!?!?!
Gracias,
El Borba
Update
I just wanted to clarify that my device rings reliably when it's powered on but rarely, possibly never, rings when it's suspended off.
When I'm at work I can hear the speakers on my desk whistle and pop when there's a call incoming on the 8125 but I have to hit the power button in order to get the call! When I do hit the power I can talk on the phone but if I don't it doesn't ring or vibrate or even light up. It just remains suspended.
Thanks again for any suggestions folks,
Brandon

Idea: turn off alarm by your voice...

hi, i was wondering if already exist a software that allow to turn off the mobile alarm just speaking to the phone, saying a word previously learned..
i.e. "ok" or "shutup!!" or "f*c*o*f" or clapping hands...
is there any software has the option to do this?
I think the software might have a tough time listening to your voice, WHILE the alarm is going off... don't you think ?

I was thinking along the lines of STFU
but NRGZ28 is right. It might be a little difficult to isolate your voice from the alarm. Even M$ Voice Command, which in my opinion is one of the best voice recognition softwares for PPC had a really hard time understanding me when I was either outside, driving in my car, or around any type of outside sound...
Maybe with the right filters, who knows?
I would LOVE such an application...
Rather than trying to filter out the problem, I'd try for an "on off" solution. The programs listens when the alarm isn't sounding. The alarms beeps for like 2 seconds, then pauses to listen for 2 seconds, then beeps for two seconds, then pauses to listen for 2 seconds. It'd go like:
BEEP - BEEP - BEEP - BEEP [---------pause-------] BEEP - BEEP - BEEP - BEEP, etc.
good idea. that would work.
Lol i already imagine how my ppc rings every morning and i keep crying " shut the dam **** up" XD
You know those guys who trows their alarm clock onto the wall? My voice would do same^^
Please!!! Any good coder built something like this!
RedRamage had a good idea...but...
when i call using the speakerphone my friend doesn't hear his own voice..so i think it would be possible to make the ppc not to hear the alarm ring or the music it is playing
btw...i think there's not any software cas do this already, right?
Great idea
This is a great idea for an app. It would be a bad idea for me because I would just shout and then go back to sleep! Maybe someone knows how echo cancellation works in Skype for WinMo.
Cheers

Vibration Stuck Issue - Luckily Vibration Motor not Burnt

has anyone experienced the problem of vibration not turning off when receiving email? my hd2 vibrated for like i dont know, at least almost 10minutes one night when i was sleeping and i was woken up by the sound of the vibration. thank God the vibration motor was not burnt due to overuse or overheat.
i had a windows mobile 5 htc made smartphone and the vibration motor almost got damaged once because the entire device got stuck and hang in one occasion when a call was received and i was out. the phone was charging and i think the vibration went on and on more God knows how long. when i got back, the motor was extremely weak, and i think permenantly damaged.
and i dont like the fact that in every windows mobile phone (or just htc phones) the vibration does not pulse, and is constantly on until the ringtone is finished playing. this is really dumb. has been like this since windows mobile 5. i've owned 4 htc made windows phone now and even the latest and greatest HD2 has not improved in this matter.
+1
I would also like pulationg vibration.......while this way it will be more effective.. and saving some battery on teh other hand . then continously vibrating ..
may be someone can do it with some hack....

Add me to the list, mine got stuck from the text message alert, i thought it was just me! Although, i thought it might of been because the alert tone was too long (approx 10 seconds), i changed the alert tone to a shorter one and so far it seems to of stopped the problem.
I have the same issue, do we think this is ROM related or not?
I have this problem once only. It happened when I use Custom ROM. Running back the stock ROM, problem does not occur.
I have it as well
I have it as well ...and twice, also with the official ROM where I didn't install any Custom ROM so far.
i've had it twice now, first with official ROM, second, just 2 days ago, with custom ROM. and it all happened in the middle of night, 3-5am! darn phone woke me up with a scare! i thought i was the only one.

I had the same problem once, I have received an SMS during looking on weather and changing to view the home screen - it got stucked totally, I had to softreset the phone putting out the battery.
looks like we are not alone.. i hope more owners will take notice of this issue so we can collectively complain to htc. it's getting on my nerves waking me up in the middle of the night!
this morning with the alarm it vibrated non stop instead of with a few pauses, and it kept on vibrating untill I stopped the alarm..
sigh.. bug #667
Try this for phone and SMS vibration patterns;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569025
For alarms, I use SPB Time 3.2 anyway... I love how they have a Bioalarm (Chirping birds, but relatively silent and ascending volume) and also how you can shake to snooze (which works really well and does not involve a serious shaking)
It happens for me too, but only when receiving text messages - it just keps buzzing
My "solution" in "Normal Mode" was to have only sound (I turned of vibration) when receiving text messages.
When on "Vibration Mode" this does not happen
I've had this happen on 3 different HTC phones:
Touch Diamond
Xperia X1
and now HD2
It must be some kind of issue between WM and HTC hardware... because I can't imagine all the different ROMs I've flashed on all three devices had this bug...
I just turn off vibration for txt and email. Wish this could be fixed.
i had this problem today. my text came in at 12am and i only manage to get awake by the vibrate noise at 4am to stop it! my text tone is 6sec . 4 hour of vibrating. luckily the vibrate still working. Gosh
Lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
I JUST CAME ACROSS THIS THREAD RIGHT NOW AND COINCIDENTLY,I JUST RECIEVED AN EMAIL & MY PHONE JUST DID THIS NON-STOP VIBRATION PROBLEM!!!!! WHAT WAS THE CHANCES OF THAT!?

WOW, is it time-based ? I read this last night and the stuck vibration happened to my unit this morning on an email notification! (TMOUS stock)
I haven't really had a stuck problem with my Tmo US version with stock e-mail ringtone. One of my gripes with this phone though is how weak the vibrator is. When I have it in my pocket, I can barely feel a thing unless I am sitting down? Maybe my pants are too loose/baggy? I wouldn't want to have to wear skinny jeans just for the phone though.
I used to have the Tmo MyTouch3g and the vibrator on that phone was perfect. It had pulse vibrate AND it was strong enough for me to feel in my pocket.
using sat nav last week got to my destination recieved an e-mail and then heard a strange noise thought it was my car turned off engine still had noise, touched the roof and it was vibrating, it was the phone had to reset to stop it, it has strongest vibration of any phone i've oned.

Ringer problem,help!

so i got the mini a couple of days ago, amazing device, but im experiencing a problem.
when i get a call with the ringer set to 100%,the ringtone plays loud and fine for a bit then becomes muffled.reducing to 80% makes it play fine mostly time but still it DID muffle once or twice in ten times.
sometimes even at 100% the ringtone played fine.
other audio from the speaker(from music and video) played fine with no problems at the loudest volume.
this is really bugging me,as im really loving the phone, and dont want to give it away for repairs for weeks.is this a software(seems like it) or a hardware problem?or is it even a problem at all?what should i do?
Hi,
I have the same problem also.
My ringtone is "ring old thelephone" and when someone calls me afther the second ring it sounds like my phone is underwater.
Tried some diffrent settings, but nothing seems to work.
Its also on 100% becauwe i need to hear my phone as truckdriver.
Anyone who knows the solution to this problem please?
With kind regards,
Pascal,
Go to Settings-> Sound & Display and check if you have Quiet Ring on Pickup enabled. This automatically lowers the ring volume when the phone is picked up/moved. Try disabling it and see if it still does that.
HTC HD MINI Ringer problem
Hello everybody!
As first, I apologise for my english
I´m happy, that I found someone who has the same problem like me. I thought that I am just one
I have this problem with my phone HTC HD Mini, too. When somebody is calling me, the ringtone is turning down the volume after few seconds (like underwater, muffled). I switched off a function "Quiet ring on pickup" but it doesn´t help. What is interesting, this problem is not doing every time. Sometimes not. But usually yes. I did a Hard reset, too, but it persists.
So... two weeks ago, I sent my device to servis and they accepted my complaint. They changed this device for new one, but I found this same problem with a new device, again! I´m very sad because I think that all these devices HTC HD MINI are wrong.
What are we gonna do? I´m afraid, that if I send this new device to servis again, they will send me a new wrong one back, again.
Sincerely,
Peter
wow, even i exchanged my device for a new one,and the problem is there in the new one too!!
i think its a problem with all devices and we have to live with it.
Ringer problem
Really? Have you exchanged your device, too? I like this device, but I don´t wanna be satisfied with this problem... Are you satisfied? Doesn´t mean it any problem for you?
Hi, Go to settings -> Sound and display -> Quiet ring on pickup (turn off) It helped for me
Ahoj Stanley,
Htc-service???
Like i wrote before, also I had that ringer-problem.
So about 14 days ago i returned my device to the store and the sended it to the repairstore "eurotwice.nl" for repair.
When i check my status its still under "repair/swap".
For a device that isn't older then 1 month i rlly tought they would said i could change for a new one, or similar device....but NO, it's a repair
My wife wants a iphone 3Gs for her birthday(for later update to the new OS 4.0) and i gonna follow up her iphone closely.
When it works like my previous HTC's (or even better) i only can say...BYE BYE HTC, it was the last one i bought.
HTC HD Mini
Hi,
My new second device HTC HD Mini is now in service, too - again! As I said the same problem with ringer volume is on this second device, too. So I sent this device to service one more time. But the service says that they didn´t find out this problem on this second device! So I don´t know what´s gonna be with this... I´m still waiting on this device from service...
theres an UPDATE on the htc website that fixes this problem.go to htc support to get it now!
now my phone is perfect
HTC HD MINI - Ringer problem´s gone

hi all. My Hd mini still having some problem with the ringtone even after i've install the new hotfix and new official rom release.
