I do not mean to be rude, but this has been discussed before. According to Adobe our phone's processor lacks the mhz to run flash smoothly. I honestly think with Froyo 2.2 our phone should be able to handle flash 10.1, but that's just my opinion. Who knows, Adobe might surprise us and give us flash anyway.

No don't say that. You haven't done anything that refers to ignorance. Hopefully we'll have flash, but don't hold your breath.

There is a copy of Flash that you can Side load now But it takes a lot of Space. It works but very slowly. I was using the stock Rom. I would almost think it would run a bit better on FroYo.

Can you point us in the direction of where we can obtain this file? I've loaded a flash player file before and it hasn't worked for me. Maybe this might be a different file.

is it worth downloading this file?

I got it from the dev section on here a while back. Personally I'd wait until FroYo comes out. It wasn't worth the huge space it took up and the slow playback.

Yes but FroYo is much smoother running than Eclair. Just cause we won't be able dl it from the market doesn't mean we can't side load it.

I just want to point out Flash Support/No flash support has nothing to do with processor SPEED, but processor ARCHITECTURE. It hasn't been compiled for our processor by adobe, and none of us can do it because its not open source.

Flash lite, not full Flash 10.1
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App

Actually... if you google "flash 10.1 eclair 2.1" you get a guide as your first result on how you can get full flash on any 2.1 rom... sorry people who are running 2.2 but it only works if you have some sort of flash lite on the phone... as long as im aware... all 2.2 roms are based from source... which does not include any form of flash lite... basically, what it does is upgrade you flash lite to flash 10.1... it works perfectly for mee... i tried running it at 600 mhz... it ran too choppy... i would recommend using dumfuqs overclocked kernels to about 868 mhz... which is what im running... and it runs really smooth...

Mytouch Slide Update

Later this month sounds about right. The G2 was released. If T-Mobile gave us froyo before the g2 was released then people who have the Slide won't get the g2. Its all about marketing. The only thing is, why would a rep tell you that before that information is even released to Engadget, etc. (no offense)

I would think they want as much people who have the slide to simply just run impatient and switch over to the g2. Marketing! I don't think the reps get news before us. They're not the major players (no offense to any reps who are reading). I think they get the news the same time as us or at least a day or 2 before us, but then again I could be wrong.

You can root and then simply unroot to get your warranty back, but I don't suggest you root. Its not easy to root the slide, also alot of people who root the slide switch back to stock because they realize that not everything works with a flashed rom.

I'm running the stock rom just that it's rooted so that I can install & run the wireless tether apk. The stock rom that comes with the phone suits my needs. I've tried custom roms on my G1, but they are never quite 100% that everything is working. After the fun wears off, I reverted back to stock so that everything will work.

Because 2.2 has other new features? I really couldn't care less about flash...
Flash would probably be a drag on the phone's cpu which is probably why Adobe hasn't implemented flash for these chipsets.

HTC Update over the air 2.2

As we all know that the HTC Aria a few days ago was updated to 2.2 by AT&T and I guess Flash Player 10.1 is availible now can us rooted people get that aswell or not? And can u please tell me if this is true or not (the flash player part) thanks
The aria doesn't have the hardware to utilize Flash Player.
It's Flash Lite.

also, if you're rooted and apply the official 2.2 update, you will be unrooted and as of now there is not way to re-root.

As far as I remember, mostly licensing issues. While Netflix has always wanted to many an android app, various restrictions from content partners wouldn't allow it without proper protection, drm, etc...
Though if the app is this easy to get working... I have no idea whats changed is the real question... Since I mean, it doesn't seem all that secure...

No it doesn't actually, my thinking is why are they restricting it to certain phones with the impression that it won't work on any other phones? The average joe is going to think it won't work on their particular phone because it won't ever get on their "List". of course I may be totally wrong and all of a sudden they do a blanket across the board release lol.
SWEET

OMG stock 2.2 sucks! Help!

Was on CM7 thinking that the wifi was terrible and I needed a good signal so I thought I'd go back to the 2.2 roms. So far all Ive been able to do is update the phone to 2.2 stock and I HATE IT!
Quick! what is the fastest method to gain root and get a ROM on there!?
Thanks in advance!
Odin to jfd and root. Then install cwm or if you have the old update.zip reinstall that a couple of times. Oh yeah don't forget to put a rom on as wwell.

Are you saying that I should have been able to flash trigger 3.2 from stock, rooted, 2.1? It didn't work for some reason...oh jeez...I bet it was a bad dl...
Yeah. Basically. You might need to wait a little for voodoo to kick in, but I've flashed trigger 3.2 multiple times on 2.1 stock.rooted.
