Bluetooth "Enhanced Stereo" Low Volume Issue - Droid X General

I purchased the new Moto S10's and I've noticed that if Enhanced Stereo is checked the audio quality goes way up, but the volume level is very low. When I turn it off, it allows the volume to go to a level I like, but the music sounds like im streaming from a low quality source. Is there any way to raise the volume of the enhanced audio setting? Any root setting values I can tweak? Thanks!

I use Enhanced Stereo on my 2010 Prius and it works perfectly. (Did on 2.1 and still on 2.2.) Sound quality is wired quality and it's super loud. (In fact a bit too loud -- not distorted at all, but louder than other sources on my stereo.)
On the Prius forum several Android users are complaining because the Galaxy S does not have this feature and BT-Audio sounds like crap.
I've also paired my phone to my Logitech STR-01 BT-Audio streaming receiver (a woot purchase) and it works perfectly there too.
So I would conclude the problem is with your paired device.

Can anyone try A2DP?

I was wondering if the audio quality and sound stuttering has improved by using BT stereo headphones with Blackstone...
I have a trinity and i still haven't found a setting nor a rom nor a BT stack which handles my samsung headphones with a decent quality and no stuttering...
My cheap nokia 6234 has a solid connection and a good quality sound compared to the trinity... Plus, the A2DP connection slows my device down so much you have to pause if you want to do anything with it...
So if anyone could report about using bluetooth headphones with Blackstone, I would be very grateful as that would help me decide whether to buy or not
Thanks a lot

Great
I have the Touch HD for a few days now with the BH S100 HTC bluetooth headset. I have to say that the sound quality is great. It is even better than my conventional mp3 player.
Stable, never lost connection, etc.
Hope this helps.
I tried it today, with my Sony-headset.
It seems to stutter, though, for the five minutes I tested.
I have the Blackstone from seven day and the A2DP is OK with my Sony_Ericsson HBH-DS200.
The sound is very good and the pairing with the phone is immediatly in about 1 second.
Regards
reasonably OK with my Jabra BT620s. However, quality in BT A2DP is not really comparable with wired headsets, and i got some losses when passing nearby EM sources like wifi, etc.etc.
I needed to enhance the quality with Schaps Advanced Config Tool.
Alpine radio
I have an Alpine radio with bluetooth capabilities in my car, and for the first time I have a great connection with my HD. My Touch Diamond stuttered.
Thanks a lot everyone!
I guess it depends by the headset model and interferences then...
I'm still looking for a shop which would make me play with it for a little while...
i have a pioneer deh 700bt and the headunit set up was easier than the nokia n95
streaming music was a bit weird, the quality was very weird, kinda like very low bit rate streaming on mp3s at times, then fine again.
my n95 music used to pause when i took the key out of the ingnition and the stereo turn off
however the HD just keeps playing, but not through the speaker phone....just see it still playing
bit disappointed, and looking for a fix
I've only played for 10 mins, so i'll let you know if i find some more.
I have an Audi A3 from 2005 with a original BT carkit.
Can I use my HD to play some music ?
I can make phonecalls without a problem, if I adjust the volume of my carradio the volume from the HD is also adjusted.
But is there a possibility to play some music ?
Has anyone tried the Plantronics 855 Voyager stereo headset yet?
Also, I'm currently using the Jawbone 1 and noticed horrible interference/noise in the ear piece when the wifi is on, anyone else experience this?
I've never had any problems with the diamond and now with the hd. Like the senior man said, you need to increase the bluetooth bitpool values either in the registry or by using schaps tool. The difference in quality is immense - low values will make high bitrate music sound 64 kbps so you need to change this. Of course, the higher the bitpool the more chance of dropouts but I run at 60 and rarely, if ever have any dropouts.
Sennheiser MM200
Now if tested for almost one day my HD with my new Sennheiser MM 200. Amazing!!! The use of the MP3-Player switched with the use of the remote control to a new level. During sport display can be switched off(no need for touch display-less power consumption (try to give a more compareable info in future)), full control of play/pause/fwd/rwd/volume function. There is no delay of the HD in using the remote nor any transmission interruptings. Now the HD is with armwrest a perfect sport companion. The sound of the earphones - haven't had any better sound (and i've tried a lot of earplugs). Neckstrap fits perfect, mic in perfect position, clear speech and due to perfect noise reduction of the plugs even in noisy areas perfect understanding.
The Sennheiser was just charged the first time - i'll report the stamina.
So far -
I am using the i.Tech S35 bluetooth clip also on my HD now, and sound is very good, with WiFi on. Advantage of the clip is that one can use any headphones with it.

It's not possible to play music, only phone functions are available.
I've tested the HD with the PARROT MK6000 and everything works very fine, also A2DP, Quality is good.Phone Functions great, Phonebook synchronize works perfect

Improve A2DP quality?

I can switch back and forth between my SGS and the wife's myTouch on my Kenwood head unit, while the myTouch sounds excellent the SGS is missing the lows and has scratchy highs.
Apparently there was an update for the Korean SGS for improved A2DP sound quality :
http://phandroid.com/2010/07/14/korean-galaxy-s-receives-update-version-dg07-samsung-expects-to-sell-10-million-worldwide/
Anyone else notice, know of a tweak/fix, or maybe how to get the mentioned update?
My vibrant works with my Bluetooth head unit much better than my mytouch did. It does tweak out if the handset it set to max volume but 1 or 2 notches below and its crystal clear. And finally I can listen to music via Bluetooth without having to turn of WiFi like on every HTC device ever made.
Adjusting the BT volume makes no difference for me in terms of audio quality. Anyone else have this issue or is it just the combo of my Kenwood BT unit and this phone?

Bluetooth audio Streaming (LOW VOLUME)

on any other phones tested on this car the volume is great iPHone and Samsung Infuse. I noticed the note is significanly lower volume while bluetooth audio streaming. Does anyone know any bluetooth service menu adjustments for this? I saw a few threads in the GSII guys, and I remember voodoo control on a droid charge i used rooted to get volume acceptable a year ago. What are we doing for the galaxy note to get bluetooth Audio streaming louder. I have tried Volume + apk and it works but it doesnt have clarity and proper bass output. Are rooting and going to ICS solving bluetooth audio streaming volume issues?
I even tested this on my 2011 Jeep Wrangler and my 2007 infiniti. same thing on volume.
I know i cant be the only one..... This is a big deal to me i love music

DSP Manager floating here on xda has separate settings for speaker, headphones and bluetooth - you could try to set BT equalizer to max through all the freqs
PS.: on my Note I have version from this thread, installed according to post #2, works perfectly
I just tried mine with a Sony Ericsson MW600 headset and some Sony headphones i got with an old mp3 player and the volume is really loud, no problems at all.
John.
Well I'm currently on stock rom and it looks like I'd need to root in order to play

Boost Bluetooth sound quality/loudness???

HI All,
I only ever use my I9505 for Bluetooth audio. There is plenty of apps out there that boost the sound quality and loudness for headphone jacks and the phones speaker itself, but i am finding it hard to find any that deal with Bluetooth audio...
I currently connect to:
1) Bluetooth for my car - for music and calls
2) Bluetooth for my headphones i use at the gym - for music only
Any suggestions on how to get some better sound quality / loudness?
I currently use Player Pro music player - which has a DSP Sound Equaliser pack - but i am not too sure on how to fine tune that... It seems that the quality drops dramatically when i incease the volume too much?
Cheers
Not aware that any apps can help with quality, although there may be some that can help with Volume like Volume+ (although I'm not sure if they will affect bluetooth).
To increase sound quality I would recommend getting an Apt-X enabled bluetooth headphone/receiver (I use the HS3000 which has Apt-X, is relatively inexpensive and quite versatile since you can plug in whichever earphones/headphones you want or even connect it to speakers/stereos via a 3.5mm-3.5mm cable). The Sony one you have doesn't have Apt-X so is not able to take advantage of the S4s Apt-X capability.

Bluetooth Music Quality

How the does bluetooth sound for you guys? Mine seems to be worse after the B29 update (not for certain that's when it degraded). I have a decent car stereo setup, but bluetooth distorts and crackles in the mids and highs. It's not unlistenable, but I thought my stereo was on the fritz until I used my 3.5mm input from the headphone jack, which sounds just fine. It can't be that the DAC is that much better, as my other phones sounds fine and this used to.
Do you have any thoughts or experience with something besides a small bluetooth speaker?
And I have tried playing with the Dolby settings. They make no difference with the distortion.
After some perfunctory tests I have noted that Bluetooth audio seems to introduce a significant amount of extra noise at high volumes. Aside from the additional background noise I have not noticed distortions with Bluetooth yet. I have only checked this on B29.

Just something to try...I have a BT device hooked to my AVR, and when I stream through that, if I have the volume on my phone up it sounds horrible. If I stream through it with the volume up just 1 click of the volume button, it sounds good. I increase volume at the AVR instead of the phone.
Through Bluetooth hands free working flawlessly to my.(A2017G version)
I'm having 2 LG 1100/2 Sony SBH 80 and 2 SBH 20.
Haven't try it with external speakers(since I don't own any kind) and on my car I'm using the handsfree and not connected to the car audio system.

I have a A2017G on B05 and a somewhat cheap aukey BT headset: it seems to sound fine for me, no crackling or hissing. Have you tried it on different devices to compare?
A2017U on B29, using Jaybirds Bluebuds X, the sound its great, no distortion or cracking.
I use the Bluetooth on my car stereo too and the sound is excellent. No dolby, but the equalizer works fine.
Did you verify that all your bluetooth devices supports aptx? if not then you will lose sound quality :S
idk, i dont like bluetooth audio streaming... even with aptx. Its not bad but if you want to steam flac music it will still limit the quality. Somehow if i stream the music via bluetooths aptx it sound flat not dynmic and
voluminous.
I haven't tried it with the volume just below full. I'll give it a shot in the morning on my commute.
Other devices (S5 and 6P) sound just fine when paired to my headed unit, so it's likely something with my Axon 7.

Quick test with the volume just under full seemed better. I'll know more after a drive tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

EQ on on your car stereo or phone? I don't know of an EQ on the phone (maybe I've overlooked something).

On the phone. I meant to say that it's not using the HiFi audio, but the Dolby eq it's fine on Bluetooth. Sorry for the confusion.
I think it sounds about 95% better just one click below full volume. I never would have thought that digital Bluetooth volume would have been the problem, having always set it to 100% with every other device. Thankfully, Tasker makes for a quick fix.
Thanks for the tips and feedback, everyone.
