Hi Guys,
Can you please let me know when lg are making release firmware update in UK. I am currently using 1.6 but i cannot seem to update it from UK.On other phone the is update avalible for 2.2 but not for this model LG GT540 Optimus.
When are they planning to release update for LG GT540 Optimus.
From,
George

Currently the only 2.1 Eclair UK rom that has been released is Vodafone.

Any idea when they are going to release firware update in uk.

I don't think they are going to release it soon, because in many countries they are just now releasing 2.1...

2.2 will take alot of time, im doubtful if it will ever get released for GT540.

It will be released unofficially way before it gets released officially
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App

I'm also interested in an update, but as I understood from the salesman there won't be any officially updates for that mobile.
(apparently because of its hardware that will not meet the system requirments.)

There is the carphone warehouse 2.1 update out.

if your phone is purchased from carphone warehouse, download the LG Update program, it will upgrade to 2.1 for you, if its not, google it, and flash your phone with it

Help
Hello! I would like a help! Download the driver for installation ... in which everything was fine but for GREECE had a problem with this network! I made the mistake of reinstalling the 1.6 to 2.1 as I was and then the lg gt 540 optimus necrosis! is lit and stops on its brand lg!!
I would like a help;;
Thanks!

according to my recent communique from lg customer services in the UK, there are no plans whatsoever to release anything about android 2.1 as they claim the system is incapable of managing it from a hardware point of view.
Steve
p.s. I think it is a load of lies personally.

Depends on where you live, well, I live in Aus and its already out, but LG update is being a bit** to me

It'll prob be the 1.25.405.1 update (we're still on 1.14.xxx) If i install this would I loose root?
flash it through recovery
thanks for the info OP, i've been getting so annoyed with the phone randomly crashing and restarting. Although I think I'll do my research today and backup the original ROM and put on the 2.2 puzzle roms available. Need to root my new PS3 anyway

LG UK Eclair (2.1) available now 15/12/2010

The official LG UK website says now Eclair 2.1 is there now http://wwwstg.lg.com/uk/android/index.jsp
However if I connect my phone it says no update available. Any one else got any luck?
The website is talking about Android 2.1 update. It is not Froyo. It is Ecalir. Your phone might be alreay running on Ecalir. That is why it is saying no update available.
It's Android Eclair (2.1), not froyo (2.2)..
The update has been removed because it was full of bugs and issues. We don't know when LG will publish a new update.
Sorry corrected the title but my phone is running 1.6 and 2.1 is now available according to the website. I know it was withdrawn but this morning it changed to available again.
website is static and still informing that update is available since end of November. The upgrade application is telling you that no upgrade are available because it has been suspended. The upgrade application is the only one able to decide if upgrade is available or not.
The website said yesterday that it was temporary unavailable and changed to available this morning. If I go into the upgrade software It says that V20b is available for United Kingdom (customer support menu click supporting model) . I have V10B. It is there alright.
It just does not want to install might have something to do with that I am currently not in UK even though all setting are for UK in my phone.
Try again. I just updated my gal's phone yesterday night.

Why Froyo is not available for my Wildfire

Am in India, so is my friend
He bought a brand new Wildfire a week before. Accidentally, he checked for System software update and it said, froyo 2.2 is available to him
But when i checked, it dnt show me nothing. What is the problem.!!!!
I already installed many customs roms and then finally came back to the square one by installing the material from Shipped Rom!!!
some light please!!!!
I haven't got an update either..its still stuck on some 1.14.720 $hit
May be people who bought this phone recently have software version above 1.14... (i.e.. 1.25.. or 1.35...) and they are getting the updates now,.
AFAIK no one with 1.14... version have received this update till now in India.
Same problem here. I am on 1.14.720.2. Got this phone from flipkart.
I had 2.1 rooted & could not install new updates. Only after 1.37.405.1 update i got Froyo 2.2 by air.

May be because UAE and SA are kinda big markets for LG while Egypt is not!. Hopefully they won't make us wait more!
and if there's anyone from Egypt who gets it inform us about it here
its the same software, baseband only difference is their bloatware :S useless anyway plus for the open handsets there is no need its not a carrier dependent
yeah I doubt they have 4.4.2 already, cause it would be all over the forums. I think they are scamming you with a custom rom or version changer app

well i have a white d802 32gb belonging to my friend from ksa and it has 4.4 stock, no mod, no root.
Pics or it didn't happen!
4.4, great so we get a outdated kitkat.
adk them to download the kdz file so can risk your phone updating that kdz . if you have a 32gb that is.
I'm from ksa, I have d802
Didn't receive nothing.
I'm still waiting for 4.4
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
you should be waiting for 4.4.2 r2 and not outdated 4.4 ....
here is a trusted proof till i get the screenshot

Any update on when we should be getting our update? I'm eagerly waiting, If not I will just flash a Spain Vodafone KDZ.
most ppl from ksa/uae/kuwait have Korean version that why they receive kitkat they sold it here for 600-700$ with extra battery and sdcard slot good deal

LG G3 D855 model is the international model that is under LG's update priority guarantee, meaning any update that is available to korean LG G3s will be available to D855 within the coming weeks. From my experience of being a long time LG user, the coming weeks are usually 3 weeks after the initial major android update.
Unfortunately no official update on the "oversharpening bug". Will never come..
Between CM12 going official for G3 and LG releasing this, there should be some super stable Lollipop roms soon

Thanks for the update! I just received the update, thanks again~ Let me explain the LG Update priority. LG starts seeding update starting with their flagship device, in this case LG G3 F460 and then moves to D855 model, then F400, then D850 and so on. If you are under LG update priority, which means your device is under the 24-27 months software support, you will receive the update in order from greatest flagship to least flagship. So let's say LG G4 is D900, then the order will go from D900 to F460 to D855.etc.
