Post firmware guide please! - Galaxy Tab General

Ive seen people talking in complicated language about pit files and the like, but im new to Samsung flashing, so it all makes little sense.

its the same as flashing samsung galaxy s
but if you are very new to flashing i advice you to keep away from doing anything to the tab now as no firmware is perfectly flashing
i am trying to flash all firmwares available from one week but not able to get success in any firmware

I am new to Sammy flashing. What tools are you housing? Why are others succeeding?

here you can find all the necessary information about flashing and flashing tools
as i said before these are not working other than JHA and JID firmwares
if anyone has successfully flashed other firmwares please post how you did it

I beg to differ - samfirmwares is pretty criptic - they have 4 flashing toos, the filetypes and odin and everything else is not explained in any way.
If youve been flashing sammy stuff for ages it might be easy to plunge in, but for most people its way too arcane...

not to come off as a smartass, but phrases like "Remove the battery, then enter Device into Download Mode again as in step #3. then connect to the PC." really dont fill me with hope...
i would be more comfortable with one of our users posting a guide - its been done for many, many devices here at xda already

exactly what i'm thinking. im not a newbie at flashing and im no expert either but seeing how the tab is a fairly new product, there is not yet a definitive guide into flashing it. i'd probably give it a month or two before custom ROMs are available and the idea of flashing the tab to be more attractive.

I agree too that some kind soul here would post a stickie for us newbies on android. The video on samfirmware or the pdf is really deceiving and do not correspond well. I have been flasing my many Htc wm phones here on xda and have been succesful due to the pain and attention of the senior members guiding us with great step by step instructions including the dos and donts.
my first attemp on the tab failed miserably due to the unavailable information on pit files and reformat partion and this has given me a phobia to redo a second take after coming back with a reflased from samsung sevice centre. Sincerely hope someone can help us.

whats more i cant see myself removing the battery

Yeah... ftgg99... Tmo booklet says "You can not remove the battery."!
Also... I'm new to Android but getting all set to do what I need to do once someone figures out how to get a phone on the thing... thanks to all who are working so hard on that! Activate your paypal buttons!
So, since I'm new... I've been accumulating links and copy/pasting things..
Just next door in the Tab developers forum (p. 2) there is a post called
[HOW-TO] Flash.... (and it has two versions of firmware listed)...
It goes into a lot more detail...
Here's the link to that thread which is most helpful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838401
It's a start... I can post some of the other links later... got work to do now.

1: Integrates Unbrick / Flash ROM / Root All-In-One.
2: Use the same protocol as ODIN, but 2nas is more user-friendly and easy-to-use.
3: Cloud based database to flash your android phone with correct files(ROM, etc)
4: Automatically download necessery files to flash, and check them with SHA1, it's safe for your phone.
5: Store all downloaded files in local disk, under a good directory structure, it's usefull when you have several phones.
Re: Cloud-based Android Flash Tools
So you are having people flash their phones over the internet? What if the net disconnects? I hope the service is free ....and is this service even necessary. Flashing roms sometimes ends up in problems and you have to flash again, isn't it better to just use Odin and have the roms on a pc?

just looked at the site, looking at the screenshot, it just looks like a pc app that downloads firmware from the clouds?
So not actually flashing over the net.

alright.. how is it 'cloud'? Are you just using the word cloud as a synonym for 'internet'? There's nothing in the software that requires a 'cloud'..

ROM matching is base on the Cloud. When I add New-ROMs or New-Flash-Instructions, you needn't to download this software again
Why not have a try? ^&^
Updated

2013-2-3 Version 1.0.0.124
Add Feedback function to improve our service.
Add Instruction-Webpages to avoiding mis-operation.
Can't get it.
Would be nice to know what your tool/service is capable to.
I flashed a wrong ROM, so I still can get to the download but not into recovery mode.
I download the USB driver and your software........and then ????
I don't have currently a proper PC/laptop to try, only a company laptop which doesn't allow me to play with.
More details would be highly appreciated to bring my S3 back to life when I'm back home.

Unbrick failed
As mentioned before I couldn't install 2nas software on my company laptop, but in the meanwhile I borrowed one and tried the unbrick function.
Everything worked well till I started the installation after the download, so it failed straight away at the flashing of the boot.img, see attached screenshots.
Initial rom on my S3 was I9300XXLEF (Hong Kong) and I flashed Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300 Stock Firmware Collection I9300XXEMA2 after that it didn’t re-boot because of wrong ROM, if I try to get into recovery it shows the “Firmware upgrade encountered issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again” screen..

I asked polite and didn't expect that kind of profane reply w/o any substance apart personal bashing.
Cheers.....LinChina

But, as I see, reading with understanding is beyond your abilities, instead, you are very keen to abuse someone.
Off topic question: are you abusing all peoples when you're unable to understand their question(e.g. your nanny is in bathroom)?

Pretty Please Help. Bricked S5 and Lost

So, I'm at a total and complete loss as to what to do. I have spent hours upon hours googling, and searching xda and trying step after step after guide after guide and I canNOT fix my S5! I've tried recovery, I've tried Odin and there has got to be something I'm missing. When I plug up the phone into my laptop, it sort of recognizes it, in the sense that it makes the notification noise of it being recognized, as with any external device. Odin picks it up as well. The issue is when trying to boot up the phone, it's stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S5 custom, android etc screen. it will not go past this. i'm almost in tears right now, and just want to get the phone working again. Is there anyone out there that can help???
Tiny update.
So I tried another method, and still having issues. Only difference is, I get past the powered by android screen, but then when getting to the Samsung with the color and oval it freezes and shuts down. One step forward, 2 steps back.

well, let's just say i have a folder of 26 links, majority from here on trying to find a solution on how to root and consequently unbrick my phone when I messed it up. that's probably not even all of them. [Unmodified] Pre-rooted firmware for SM-G361F

Hi everyone,
Today I am posting this thread because of some idiots who are now sharing pre-rooted firmwares for SM-G361F that are full of bloats.
I am sick of that, this is why I upload the archive of the first pre-rooted firmware I got that was at least clean.
You can download it here: https://mega.nz/#!oqpRhZJZ!B18uTiB3TH-QfChoqjgWCNmaPjqInPZbFyI4u9-T8s4
Note: This firmware is ONLY for Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-G361F devices with AOG1 build.
Of course I don't own the firmware and I didn't root it, I just keep the right to upload it.

Pre rooted
Hey,can you find SM-G361F pre rooted version for this device?
BaseBand G361FXXU1AQA1
Build number G361FXXU1AQD1
I can't find it anywhere
I love what you're doing. All other pre-rooted ROMS are full of trash. Could you make it for G361FXXU1APA3?
Hum... OK guys thanks for the love but I have to remember you something.
I am not a developer yet and truly not a ROM unbloater: I didn't "disinfect" the firmware, I just reuploaded it (well after a fast check, I found I've already prevented about that, just read the thread please...)
So no dudes I can't do that, sorry. I COULD eventually do that, removing bloats and extract system image to make a flashable shouldn't be as complicated, but I do not have time.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Hey Atronid, you rock! I have the AOL1 but intend to give it a try cause I already rooted it but it's full of bloast. Do you know if I can flash another pre-rooted firmware considering I did this already? could this be harmul? -brickful? )-

I don't think doing this will brick your device, but careful. Ensure the usal requirements are here (OEM unlock, USB debug just in case...) and you made a backup, also in case something goes wrong.
But if you're rooted you got plenty tools that can remove bloats from your device, but I hope you're not easily scared because once removed system may spam that the bloat you just uninstalled has stopped. You can get rid of that by just rebooting your phone.
So you don't need to reflash any firmware if you just want to clean your phone up.
Yes, you're right. The problem was that the apps I tried to remove other apps weren't the right ones, but now that's sorted thankfully On the other hand, as I couldn't find an Android 6 ROM for my phone (not even a sorry recovery.... ) in the end I set my mobile to install new apps on the sd card by default. Actually it works similarly to the app Link to SD, so a part of it is on the SD card and the rest (like the data it generates) in the device storage, despite all the tutorials sell this method as "Installation directly on your SD card". You need a computer and official Android development tools (SDK). In case it's of any interest for anyone I'll include the tutorial I followed, but it turns out I'm not allowed to post links yet, so the title of the article was Cómo instalar aplicaciones DIRECTAMENTE en la tarjeta SD from androidjefe website. In English, How to: Force Android to automatically install apps to SD card from softonic website
I hope it helps

Read first post. I don't think it will work if you have a build other than AOG1.
And you should not use TWRP to flash like this. Use Odin and Download mode instead.
Will this rooted firmware work with my SM-G361F phone? Need advice...
Hi there,
Will this rooted version work with my phone?
I'm new here and need some help and advice re Rooting this Samsung phone SM-G361F - I'M NO TECHIE but have ability to following instructions and make connections etc. My phone details are below.
Baseband G361FXXU1ASC1
Build LMY48B.G361FXXU1AQD1
Patch level is 2017-4-01
Security software version ASKS 1.2_161011
I did once try rooting a Samsung tablet using Odin and it all worked OK, but that was a while ago.
How important is it to get the identical build or baseband? Anything else I need to check?
I was trying initially trying to change the phone's MAC address, as I was experimenting with the phone, however I could not use an App to do this as it stated phone that the phone needs Rooting first for App to work. Also tried Terminal Emulator app but it kept failing to work as I was probably, unable to input the text commands required correctly.
I hope someone can please help and advise me on this.
M
Kind regards

Currently latest binary there isnt any unlock for but I am working on it some. It is one of the more difficult ones to do due to Sprints new security. Only one team so far (at least made public) has done unlocks for it. If you have older binary builds there are some unlocks available on clangsm forum. Might check there.
Well not so much of a challenge anymore I guess on this one. The Yemen fellows have managed to unlock this long ago and now it seems everyone has a solution for it heard so much for Sprint's latest RSA haha

If you hade one in your hand right now, do you have a favorite tutorial / method to obtain root?
What about a custom rom, you have a recommendation?

You can also get the boot image and go ahead and use it with magisk in a Flash the boot image back get it rooted and then use something like AAP ke flasher to flash TW RP but again you would need a custom as men are built in mine is not finish it. However you will run into some issues if you do the ladder as they will need to be signed images at least I have came to find out. And remember Ruth should be treated all up most respect otherwise you will have a phone that is vulnerable to just about everything in the world haha. Take care
